How to change Keyboard Skin? Advice Please

May be I am asking this question again, but I have tried to search in the forum and unable to find any help.
Recently got XDA-Orbit, I must score it a decent device. I am stuck to change the soft keyboard, I have tried 2 from BuzzDev but no joy, it is also mentioned under the instructions that "You must be running "nocert" ROM (1.60c and above)". Any advice would be greatfull.

I'm probably not going to be much use, but there will be a dll in the windows folder on it that has the keyboard pics. The problem is that the file will be signed and if you edit it and expect to replace it you'll need to be able to re-sign it. The windows ppc sdk can help you with this; i haven't changed any myself, so i can't sorry!

Yea, i did try a keyboard skin which was signed and it worked on my wm5 prophet. So i guess, buzz's or the crossbow KB skin have to be signed in order for them to work

I used the "certification off" program which I found on the website below (near bottom of page), this allowed me to install unsigned keyboard skins to the wifes Prophet.
Maybe it'll work for you, let us know.

Thanks, i tried the Nocert cab earlier, it didnt work for me. Found a skinned KB from www.miousers.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1812 (thx to MCCUNE) which installed and worked. Wonder why the MUN's WM6 Kb is not working.

Input method auto change (choose keybord using stylus)

I would like to share with You my little app, that I wrote to make using HTC easier and more comfortable. With this app You can assign finger friendly keybord when stylu is In, and small keyboard for stylus when it is out. Unfortunately it works only on devices with stylus sensor like HD, Diamond, Touch Pro, SE X1 (I hope it works, I've tested with BlackStone only). If you have some suggestions, ideas or if You run this app on other devices please let me know.

I've updated apllication to version 1.1.2
New features:
- support landscape mode
- up to four screen keyboard support
I hope it'll be usefull.

nice app...i'm sure it will help me, as it seams that my touch hd keep changing input keybord completely randomly and with no logic whatsoever so will give a try...hope it will bring an law and order to that mess

I've attached some screens. During system start, application is checking screen oreintation and stylus state and then deciding which keyboard should be used.

I tried the Cab file above, it really works, meaning it will change the Imput method according to stilus in or out.
But if I closed the phone or make a soft reset, the first time I want to write a message the imput method is still the standard one

You must setup program to start service with Windows.

Yes I did select it but as I mentionned, after a reset or turning the mobile off, the first message I will write will open with the standard keyboard... I then move stilus in and out and it starts to work correctly until the next reset or turn off

So strange, because program is started. Maybe You are using keyboard which is loaded leter. Uncheck 'run at start' and add shortcut to autostart. After this program should start after all proceses and services.

Hi Nitro, is it possible to launch an application when you take out the stylus? I would love to have Phatpad opened when I do so, to take a quick note.
I won't mind closing it the one time I pull out the stylus in another app.

Do images rotate on turning the device without opening the keyboard? like on HD or Diamond? Because in my TP2, images do not rotate on turning the device as it is supposed to due to g-sensor .... isn't it? Does it have to be activated somehow or is it not possible in TP2 ... which will be strange.

by default rotation with gyro does not work on Rhodium.
You can use gyrator2 if you wish to enable this functionality.

I have the same problem. Screen rotates in opera, but not in Album.

same here, and gyrator is not the perfectly program for this... its slow, and it isn't integrated with WM after install. its just a stand-alone app what runs as the same way as other programs (you can also close it by taskmanager).
Also taksmanager doenst close programs by clicking [X] ?? (even when i select it)...

Attached regisry that will enable a lot of programs in G-sensor.
You also can edit by notepad to remove program that you are not like.

I understand this works great. few questions:
Doesn't it slow the device?
What programs do you suggest to be rotating without the screen sliding out and what programs do you think shouldn't flip to landscape because it gets annoying?

The same question could be applied to many things HTC have done with the Rom on the Rhodium.
At the end of the day, do what we do best here, add the functionality that you want, then fix any problems that occur afterwards.
I haven't noticed any adverse affects using gyrator, as yet anyway.

Doesn't it automatically display the picture at the maximum size? Meaning if it is a landscape picture it displays it in landscape and if it is a portrait picture it displays it in portrait? I actually prefer the way it is done in the new album which I am running on my FUZE.

Could someone help me out with the TomTom reg key? I get the modulename bit right, just point it to tomtomnavigator.exe. Don't really understand the whitelist key. What should the value be for Tomtom?

Awsome thread I downloaded and installed the gyrator2, but I cannot figure out what plugin/program to grab from microsoft to install that dotnet 3.5 on the phone to get gyrator to work. can someone please point me to the correct file?

to anyone else wishing to add an app to HTCs GSensor list in the reg and not knowing the window title or class...
download Gyrator2, install and run. Add a new event. Choose learn. Take stylus out. Make active the window you need the name of. Insert stylus. There! Gyrator has just told ya what ya need to know... Uninstall gyrator and add what it told ya to the reg...

Hello, brilliant suggestion from bigjezza. Myself I'm trying to get Microsoft Reader to react to my phone's gyrations. However when I bring up Gyrator 2 the MS Reader app is not listed. Actually it never came up in my program-list in the first place even though it did install and runs perfectly. Had to stick a shortcut in the Windows/Start-menu.
Any suggestion on how to get MsReader onto Garator's list, or does anyone know what the relevant data is for MsReader just like that?

I did install the .reg, then looked my self the new strings in the registry and everything looked OK, but the images on Album still do not respond to device rotation... Any other solution? Or it is need to activate or deactivate something else?

The Opera browser does it automatically. For everything else, practically every TP2 owner has installed 'Gyrator 2' or 'screenChanger' (my favourite), which are free apps utilising the G-Sensor. They run pretty much silently and allow you to configure which programs you want to rotate etc.

Yes. But only by sliding out the keyboard. You can use the G sensor, but then you have to adjust the registry.

Theres a reg hack to enable the change orientation function to be shown in the screen to change button assignments. So you can set when you hold down the send button it changes to landscape mode. And you don't have to pull out the keyboard!
I can't remember what it was mind.. but it's on these forums somewhere.

I did the reg that doesnt need any program running and it works great. With a bit of modding I got it to do TomTom, too.
TomTom on PDA is OK, but it still doesnt have text to speach for spoken street names.

changeScreen does a better job of hiding itself than Gyrator. One day I'll use the reg hack, but I'm still in the tinkering stage where I can't make up my mind about what programs I want to rotate, so it's easier for me to use the program option right now.

That is correct. However, mine starts itself at startup and you can tell it to minimise when it starts, so you don't need to worry about starting it up all the time. It also doesn't use much memory, so you don't need to worry about that either.

DONE! . It's attached.
Installation goes without any problems (just needed to uninstall bb connect software). BB Application Suite starts but after splash screen I got only white screen and then program probably terminates itself (or wm does it) as I see only today screen (TouchFLO is switched off while BB Application Suite starts).
I have Energy.BLACKSTONE.21891.Leo_MaxManila_07.Feb.2010 flashed on my Touch HD and registry tweek - AKU changed to .1.6.0). maybe the WM build could be a problem.
Please share your experience with BB Application Suite on BlackStone I realy am keen on the bb service.

Allright, it worked in my phone "XTROM_GRIDEVO_20B" but it need registertion with either BIS or BES .. ill try and feed you back ..

Working but no soft keyboard
After hard reset and installation BAS started to work on Energy.BLACKSTONE.21891.Leo_MaxManila_07.Feb.2010.
I have got a PIN (the same as at the BB connect) however was not able even to try enterprise activation as the soft keyboard was not available anywhere there. Or my phone is still not bugs free or it had meant to be this way as Touch Pro (Raphael) has hardware keyboard.
Anyhow I was to flash it to something else tomorrow so I will give it another try.

There is keyboard there but I'm not ganna tell you how to get it caz I'm sure you don't want to see it lool, it the worst keyboard ever, BIS must be joking with us. anayway long press until you see the keyboard in leftbottom.
I got my pin too with BIS service but still stock with enterprise activation. I was thinking to get BES but after I saw the keyboard I changed my mind or If someone haked the app to change the keyboard.

Managed to get up to the point of actibation, soft keyboard appeared by long press for each character.
To enter my email I need a dot "." for my email-name and the ".com" ending. There is a character that appears like this, but sits on the middle between characters not on the ground. Any ideas?

Hi all,
Ive read all the posts from over 50 sites (XDA and others) and can still not get the BAS to work on my HTC HD2 Leo.
Ive got it to install, Both BBC and BAS.
I have a BES account with my company.
I can get to the Register screen and nothing happens, says message sent but i can go no further.
Ive tried the hack for Raphael, done all the other reg tweeks.
Can someone please provide a simple answer for geting BAS to run, Register, do enterprise activation, sync with my company email, allow internet use etc.
I hate the blackberry they use, dont know why they use it.
I would very much love for someone to provide a solution, i only have 1 week left on my valid activation code. I need my HD2.
Please, please help.
ive spent countless hours and i am actually loosing sleep over the issue.
