When i turned the phone on for the first time i had problems with connecting to the phone network.
With my Touch pro 1 the phone network was detected automaticly but with the touch pro 2 it didn't get a network automaticly. I had to select the phone network manually.
Is this normal or could this be a defect in my device? everything works fine now after manually selecting the phone network. I live in holland and i have a UK version of the touch pro 2.

Hi,
I've been using my desire for a while now. Today I switched from provider. At first everything worked fine. Then I reported the phone and I didn't had any gsm network. I tried another sim and everything worked. I tried the "defective" sim in an other phone everything worked. I got a new sim from the provider and tried again. Same story, initially it works. I reboot and no connection anymore. Now after some fidling with the settings I found that when I disable wcdma and turn on "only GSM" the phone finds a network (only gprs) and works. If I put it in auto mode, it gives no connection, in wcdma it also gives no connection.
The provider has no idea, HTC support Belgium has no idea. Can somebody help me witter this?
Grts Tom
Have you set up your APN settings correctly? Chances are you have not. Also I find my internet connection to have problems when I changed providers and sim cards, however I installed a completely new rom and wiped everything and redid all the APN settings and it works now It still a bit dodge, but I can toggle aeroplane mode on for 10 seconds, then off and it works.
Hey Guys,
My phone got wet. Dried it all up. Everything fine. EXCEPT that it will only connect to T-Mobile's network when 2G only (GSM only) option is enabled. But when I selected 4G only (WCDMA only) it will get stuck in Searching... and when I try to registered to the network by going to Network operators -> Select Automatically or Search now. Also, when I select 4G/2G (WCDMA/GSM) it will only connect to 2G. Any ideas? I have Odin'd back to Stock ICS, and to Stock GB. No luck.I also always had full signal with 4G only (WDMA only). I also tried my SIM card on another 4G phone and it worked perfectly. Everything worked.

Thank you.
Its a unlocked TMobile samsung galaxy S2 (SGH - T989) from US which I am trying to use in India. I had bought it from t-mobile as part of a 2 year contract. After completing my two years contract, I got the phone unlocked from t-mobile before coming to India. The phone worked fine for first 15 days here in India but stopped working since then. I have tried many different SIM cards from different Indian mobile service providers. These SIM cards work perfectly fine on other handsets . *#06# shows correct IMEI which matches with what is printed on the back side. Phone shows signal towers with varying signal strength. I could see the signal towers even after disabling Wifi and location services but when i try to make a call, it says "Not registered on network". Wifi, if enabled, works fine though. When I try to select a network operator from Mobile networks menu, it does say registered to network occasionally but mostly it fails to connect to any network (i have tried both manual and automatic selection) but even if it says registered to network, when i try to make call, it says not registered on network so I am not able to make any calls at all. I have tried factory reset and upgraded to JB 4.1.2 (radio: UVMC6) but problem still stays. Please help me.
Did you try entering the correct apn ? Similar thing happened to me but i took it to the sim card company and they entered the apn manually and it worked.
Sent from my A=A Presents SHADOW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I did try APN but I believe that is for GPRS/EDGE and 3D and these will take effect once cell network is established.
I just got a N7505 and with Rogers in Canada.
Data connection is sporadic. It will not work for few minutes occasionally and it is getting annoying.
I checked the APN settings and they are correct.
Any suggestions?

What u mean for "SPORADIC"? is it mean the data connection is on/off? how about your sim card line? is it 3G or 4G?

Sporadic as in, it sometimes works, and sometimes not.
Wifi is fine, but mobile data (4G/LTE) is not. With the same SIM card, mobile data (LTE) works fine on LG Optimus G.

In my case... my sim is 3G..but i've set in Mobile Network is "LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)" at first.. then i found out my data connection same with u.. sometimes on & off... telco company advise me change to "WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)". Since my operator line area still not available for LTE service. After i changed it.. then works fine.
U try to change first, then we'll see..is it ok or not.
Here in U.A.E i was facing the same issue as a work around i go to SETTING , MORE NETWORKS i then MOBILE NETWORKS and in NETWORK MODE manually select WCDMA/GSM as off course i wont able to get LTE but data speed is much better and no signal problem what so ever.
My carrier does not use WCDMA, just LTE/GSM.
Is there a code from dialpad to get into backend settings? For instance, with my other phone (Galaxy Note 1), I can dial *#*#4636#*#* to get into phone settings for more options for network connection.
Hi guys just got redmi note 8 pro and almost every time I go out of reach of wifi my mobile data doesn't work. It happens also if I manually tuen off wifi. I have the H+ icon like it is connected but I don't have data connection. The issue is resolved if I go in and out of airplane mode then I have data connection again. If I just turn off and on data connection in the quick settings it does nothing. APN settings are set and working ok.
MIUI global 11.0.3.
did u find any solution.....
if you are using any 3rd party VPN or using custom DNS then please disable them and try again.
I had the same issue. I emailed Xiaomi's support and also posted it in the Mi community forum. Followed everything (except factory resetting the phone) but nothing was working.
Finally, I was able to find a solution that has fixed this issue for me (I've spent almost a day and haven't experienced it yet).
I was using a single SIM card on my phone. My SIM card only supported 3G network. After trying all the solutions, I grabbed another SIM card (of another network provider) and put it in the second SIM slot. This new SIM card also supports 4G LTE.
At this moment, my phone has 2 SIM cards. One supports only 3G and the other also supports 4G LTE. Though my default mobile data is still set to my original SIM card (3G).
After using two sims simultaneously, I've not experienced this issue again.
So I assume that Redmi note 8 Pro has a bug that doesn't allow mobile data to work properly if there is a single 3G SIM card present in the phone.
I have the same issue.
Works for sometime then suddenly no internet even when it's showing 4G+ sign. I have to turn off the data then on again to get it working which is annoying.
Same issue even with dual sim installed.
