VGA out/ IR Camera

Does anyone know where I could find a pin configuration chart for the display cable inside the uni?
I know its adventurous but I wouldnt mind making a monitor out!

SD to VGA adapter maybe??
I saw in one of the Windows mobile magazines that they make SD to VGA adapters. It mentioned that there was a microSD version soon to be released, and that there was a bluetooth product as well.

If memory serves me correctly the Universal was original sold with an optional TV/VGA out cable. It may be worth posting on the HTC forum itself or digging around. I am pretty sure that it was only the first few G3 devices that were advertised as having these cables, but have had a dig around myself last year for these to no avail.

The only info I could find on this is whats in the Wiki anyways
The touch-screen controller given shows the pin-outs which should tell us the touch-screen pin-config'.
I've given up on this anyway so I turned my camera into a nightvision camera really easy to do!

Share more details, I too was playing before with camera and IR leds

sorry this will be mega rushed just realised im still in my pjs and gotta be at work soon!
Basically you dissasemble to PDA as shown in the wiki, then take apart camera base, behind it there should be a coloured filter (IR filter) take it out and replace with two really dark things (like the begining of a negative) then put together and take pictures in the dark whilst pushing a button on a remote control i will make a proper how to do thingy when im home tonight!

Right first of all I think I tried it with my Uni and couldn't suss how to get to the IR filter but I tried it on my Nokia and its working like a charm!
1: Take apart the phone,
2: Uncouple camera,
3: Using a knife prise the four corners of the circuit board off the base of the camera (make sure you only go about 1mm in MAX! Also make sure you remember which way round it goes ),
4: Unscrew the lenses off the front,
5: Punch out the IR filter, this should be the slightly coloured one usually red (or find a way to take it out properly if you wanna keep it but mine was glued on),
6: Find an old photo album and take the negatives, look for the first part where it is just pure black (no pictures) and cut two circles out of it to place where the IR filter was, (this will be your visable light filter),
7: Reassemble,
8: Go somewhere dark and use a remote control as a light source and take photos!

yea i read it too...oh wait i think i remember where i read it....in the development n hacking section....they talked bout it...i think u can still buy those optional TV/VGA but the only problem is that u cant use the sd therefore u have to use the main memory which is not enough...

Disaster Recovery Help...Please.

Well, Karma is a b#$^2... and she finally presented me with my long overdue tab. My Dash took a direct hit and the screen completely shattered. Fortunately, for whatever reason... I chose yesterday to install sprite backup and run a daily routine. So here are some immediate questions:
1. Can I restore the sprite image to a brand new Dash
2. If so, will I have to unlock it first...
3. Will the radio, ROM updates and other firmware be part of the restored image.

If your screen is the only thing that broke then all your software should be intact. Just buy a new LCD (around $20-$35 depending on where/Who you buy from), put that bad boy in there and you should be good to go.
Edit:
If you don't have them, make sure to by one that comes with tools. A video tutorial on how to do it is easy enough to find, but if you can't post back here and me or someone else will post a link. Good Luck!

Ebay should have TONS of them for sale. Just try to make sure the seller is in the US if you are too. I do have some in stock but I try to keep the available for my walk ins. I get about 2-3 customers a day for broken Dash LCD's. I'll provide a nice ebay link for your though.

Giving away my Qtek9090

Hi there,
I wanted to upgrade my Qtek 9090. But i dropped it on the floor and now the screen turned white, but it still reacts on touch it. I dont know what is wrong with it, and i dont want to open is. Thus i want to make somebody very happy with it.
There is only a catch. I live in the Netherlands and i don't want to invest in sending the thing off to somewhere in the world unless somebody will send me something in return.
So my question is who want to invest in sending something back for this phone? And will have the honor to do so?
The phone will come with the usb-cradle, adapter and the phone of course.
So let's see what you guys will send me in return. Most original reply wins!

XeneRoX it's not my idea to get money for this phone. It served me perfectly and i've got enough HTC phones to keep me busy.
As I said in my first post: I want to make somebody happy with it, but if i invest my time and money in sending the device i want something in return. Dont think in big expansive stuff but original or something different.
To give u an idea what i mean with original. My girlfriend came up with the idea that who ever receives my qtek will send me a photo of him and the family he settled with. Please note this is my first ever HTC device and is my "little" baby.
So please spark up those creativity thoughts and let me know what you came up with.
Oh almost forgot i wil post a picture of the phone tomorrow.

i dont want to imply anything bad and i think its nice that you dont wish to make any profit of it by selling it on ebay BUT when you said in the end of your post for whoever wins the phone to send you a photo of him once he receives the phone,that i thought it was too bit risky.
you see the thing with the internet is that anything can happen becouse you dont know who is who and you only see a chat name and thats all.so unless it has to do with online stores like ebay for eg i wouldnt recommend to people to send those kind of private infos to strangers like a photo of themshelfs for eg.

In that case, here's my gift...
I'll take the phone around with me as I travel to different places and e-mail you pictures of the phone in different areas. (e.g, If I go to a lake I'll take a picture of it by the lake, if I go to vacation somewhere...)
I could even make a website with archives of everywhere the phone has visited.

That's a good question. I am real busy with planning and executing music events and festivals this month. So I wil announce the winner the last day of this month.

Well, i do have a bit of interest in this as well (my BA is beginning to come apart)... Im the guy who does this nicely so keep that in mind, but do you see that sticky in and how its says in Bold there is NO KNOWN WAY OF ROOTING 2.2, well as soon as it is rooted that will change, and for updates check that thread and dont post Q's. Its all in the sticky, people are ganna keep telling you look there, if the devs take their time to answer everybody personally it will take longer for root.

Dude if you want Root then buy a new EVO on eBay and sell your old one. You will come out losing 20$ but its worth it.
This is the quickest route.

Except it's getting harder every day to find a new one with 2.1 still on it. And it would be just my luck that I'd order one off Ebay (probably pay a lot because root is becoming such a high-ticket feature now) and then find out the next day that an exploit was found in the OTA.
Just wait it out. And yes, I'll change the sticky when there's something new to report. If you read the OP, I even updated yesterday to say that.

Brought back to life in 80% after washing mainboard with isopropanol. These arent waterproof: LCD,water under - paleness and ugly colours, hold key is failing sometimes, also it thinks permanently that headset is connected, thats not connector fault, and of course loud speaker sounds like a poo.
(anyone knows where does lines from headset connector go on board?)

how much time did it last alive in water(seconds) or it just was dead when it was in it??
BTW the pics are really good

I was really surprised, threw it accidentaly into water, deep for like 25cm, it spent about 5 seconds underwater, still playing music (!) and showing everything on lcd, was still working when I was taking battery out.
Btw, I can't find FSA9480A anywhere there. Can you? Is it POP mounted? Or maybe it is under camera controller (or whatever is that thing to which is camera connected), there is something under that.

Wave is indeed waterproof(atleast to my luck)
I took my phone like an insane to rafting! started video recording,then kept in pocket & it fell within boat which had around 5cm water and was there for 5-6min(i didnt get know while enjoying) then checked it was working well and also recived a call. Then to be on safe hand side i removed battery & kept for drying 1 day. No problems after that; its still working very well!
