Does anyone know if it is possible to get the Lock Device button back somewhere on the Home screen? TF3D seems to block it.
I can't use the powerbutton to lock the device cause it also seems 'suspend' running programs like CorePlayer, HTC FM Radio and TomTom 7.
Do a long Press on the End Call button
Yay! Thanks alot!
Case of RTFM I guess
I don't care for the long press. It's far more cumbersome than an actual shortcut. Any cabs out there to give us an actual icon/shortcut to put on the Programs tab of Sense? Like in the Energy ROM's? Surely he can't be the ONLY person to have access to such! I NEEDS IT!

use softkeymanger to change a softkey on your phone. You are using diamond mode in the software.

Unless of course you remap that button. On my device I have it set to shut off the 3G data connection. But I have mapped the OK button to lock the phone.

That won't work because there is no shortcut to point the software to. That's kinda the point of my post: Is there a cab which will make a freakin' icon for Lock Device?

I don't know if you want to pay some money, but SPB Plus will create shortcuts that lock the phone. Of course, it also allows you to remap the buttons... but it isn't freeware.

Yes there is search for a cab called "Lock Device" if you can't find it PM me i'll email it to you. Its pretty cool because you can set it to automatically lock and it also includes a shortcut that you can assign to any button.
here is the cab. I take no credit for it.
Yay!!
Thanks, my friend! Hideous icons!! HAHA. But, it gets the job done and I can always make a prettier icon.
Thanks again!

Attached zip folder with two files:
1. Alt Tab
2. Alt F4
- Copy the files to your windows folder
- Make a shortcut for each file to the programs folder
- Assign a button to each program
For example I assigned button no.2 (IE) to Alt Tab and button no.5 voice dial to Alt F4
This two small programs work very well
Alt F4 closes programs (Comm. manager too)
Alt Tab switches between open applications (including phone and ActiveSync)
Enjoy

Hi edward-riko,
just want to let you know your small apps are excellent, especially the AltF4 is a real "must have" - I wonder why only few are downloading them.

why few dnld.....
for me I like my IE and Mess buttons. I like you alt tab and alt f4 but don't want to give up any buttons. I need more buttons I guess.....
I may make a cab for this zip for you all though. then the shortcuts would be made automatically.
When I get to the hotel maybe I get bored and make a cab.

Do you mean \windows\"Start Menu"\programs or just \windows\programs
Here is the CAB it places the shortcuts to the \windows\"Start Menu"\programs . Just use settings..buttons and choose which buttons to use.

I have the same problem - not enough buttons - I use IE for AltF4 and didn´t map Alt Tab to any button, cos I use my mess button for Vijay´s Flashlight.
Does anyone know if there is a way to double map buttons? Like button 5 has to functions by using "press and hold" ?

Dear Pronor
you can make the comm manager button double use in order to go from ring to vibrate and visa versa from vibrate to ring
you need to install the attached cab and then power off the device (not soft reset but power off) after you power on and push and hold the comm manager button it will put your device to vibrate , another push and hold back to ring
hope this helps you

Dear edward-rico,
sometimes after I posted something here I become aware of something I forgot before like this time forgot about the CommButton-Toggle-Vibrate-Fix.cab I´ve installed on my hermes - which exactly does what I was asking for
I guess I will have to learn how to make own cabs, cos if it´s possible with the commButton it should be possible with any button, if one just knows how to do it.
BTW.., since I´m exercising the hardware buttons of my device - is there a big difference between AltF4 and the OK Button on the very bottom right? I think I was never aware of that one before.

Forget it - I just tested the OK button with the commManager, which it closes but was not aware that it doesn´t stop a process like your AltF4 does.

with AEButton you can map your Buttons:
"# distinguish up to 4 different keypress events on each button grabbed (single, double, triple and "long" keypresses)."

My thoughts exactly as I was watching all the iPhone craze unfold...
I just had a quick question about this.
When you install STK on a wm6.1 device, is it possible to still have the right soft key function change depending on what slide you're on (just like stock), or is it always the "tasks" option, like you see in screenshots?
Thanks

No it has options lol, u can choose to have start menu with standard task bar etc...
Lets say you have your notes, opera browser and a e-mail message all open. Can you "minimize" them and switch between them. I tried, but it kept closing them. I my previous phone (htc fuze), there was a "home" button on the button that you could hit at any time and it would take you to the main screen, then you could click up on the taskbar at the top and choose what open app you want to go to.
Am I missing something here? How do you do it on this "better" phone.
Thanks.
Go to your Task Manager settings. In the "Button" tab, either select "End programs by tapping and holding "X"" or disable "Enable the "X" button to end running programs".
Or you can just press the Home/EndCall button and then switch to the application you want using the HTC Task Manager.
Personally, I copy the file "TaskMgf.lnk" from the "\Windows\" to "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\". And then I map the mute button to this link. So I just press the button when I want to switch between several opened applications.
i use this program...has a really nice and smooth transition between windows...
heres the write and the cab...

Fails to install on my Tilt2 stock ROM (Installation failed). I tried from both the SD and system and I am running .NET 3.5
when you're in those programs, just hit the home botton to get out of it but minimize it. Then you can click on the top right of the screen which is the taskbar, and you see a list of your programs running so you can click on whichever one you want..
Search for a file called ALTTAB.exe.
It will pop u a small window and show an icon where you can click.
It works exactly as it does in Windows, when you press "Alt" + "Tab"

And the "home" button would be which one?
task facade looks cool but how much memory does it use?
i like to keep it simple. I use Spb's Alttab (attached) and have Rhodium Keyboard Controller map my PTT button to alttab.
so when ever i wanna switch apps, just tap the PTT button and icons of all open apps show up on the screen, then either tap on the icon i want to open it, or press the PTT button again for the selection to move over. works perfectly!

Ok, so I opened up Opera and then clicked the "home" button. It shuts down the Opera browser.

the opera browser is usually still running. it is just hidden from the task list. I remember that there was a registry tweak somewhere to force it visible and some cabs made for it. so you would have to try another programs to test this function.

Yeah, you're right. It actually stays open although you don't see it in the taskbar.
since my screen is dead i want to use the softkey's for various tasks... any idea how?! Please tell me there is a way to press them from the hardware keyboard.
really... isnt there anyway to hit ok or options from the hardware keyboard?
You could use mortscript to emulate the screen tap. Then map the script to the key you like.

is there any way you can give me directions on how to do that? i've been trying to find a way to make my "ok" button and or "enter" button send texts for a while now, and every time someone says use this, or use that, they never explain how. please and thanks.
Hi everyone. I'm new to this website and I'm new to posting in general. I just want to know if anyone knows where I can get the official oem rom of Windows Mobile 6.5.3 or 6.5.5? Not a cooked rom or anything like that. The official one. If anyone could help me out with this I would really appreciate it

Dont think one was released for this phone...
I could be wrong though.
I thought thats why the chefs take other phone ROMS and cook it for our Rhodium.
Otherwise you could download it from the HTC (or your carrier) site.

Ohhh thanks for replying. I didn't know they used other phone ROMS. But do you know of any ROMS that are good for the our Rhodium? I've used some ROMS before but they change stuff like the home button. They make it go to the start menu instead of home. Do you know a nice ROM where they let the home button actually go to the home screen?

Yes there is in fact a home button. It has the windows logo on it.
I think you will find on here that most people will refer to that as the start button, and whilst I have been using newer ROMs for ages, I cannot remember when it did much else than go to the start menu?
No I'm talking about the button next to the back button on the htc touch pro2. That button sends me to the home menu with the time and weather and stuff.

Which side of the back button ? You said it had a windows logo on it though ? I have a button with a windows logo (to the left of the back button), which correctly pulls up the "Start" menu. I have a button with a picture of a house (and a phone) on it) to the right of the start button, which goes to the Sense home tab.
I am confused. Presumably you are talking about the real buttons not the soft on screen buttons?
My TP2 has (from left to right)
The pickup phone button
The start button (windows logo)
The back button (arrow)
The endkey button (phone down logo and little house)
If I push the endkey when away from the homescreen it takes me back to the home page.
That still works for me. (Not on every manila tab, but most)
The start key has only ever (for me) mimicked what the soft start key does. (Which in my case is start Quickmenu as I have binned the normal start menu).
Guys, you are forgetting that he has TMOUS TP2, which has really HOME button next to the BACK and Pick up.
Anyway, I really prefer having it mapped to Start Menu, because on Home you can get by pressing end key too, so why use two keys for one thing? Wasting keys .

Oh yeah I forgot to add that. I do have the T-mobile version.
It a matter of taste, but I prefer the Valkyire roms, you will need to try a few to make your own decision.
Lol the reason your home key opens up the start menu is the same reason why your ctrl key on your keyboard is actually your alt key; you flashed a ROM that the keymapping is to a different Touch Pro2, if you google you'll find the TMOUS Rhodium/Touch Pro2 Keyboard fix...
