[REQ] HTC Raphael forums

It would be time to get Raphale forums. The HTC Touch PRO is about to hit the shelves (hopefully soon!) and I would like to get some fiery discussion on that phone, especially when, where, and how to get it.

I believe it's going to be released late Q3/Q4, so not that soon! But since the X1 has a forum already, I agree it would be a good idea, and justifiable!

i really hope it will be the "end of the summer" because I'm moving at a later day and am not sure if i will be able to spare $1000 for a new phone.. but still i might sell my hw69xx HP phone by then..

yeah want a raphael forum too.
about the price: i think it is around the price of a diamond. a bit more, but not much.
cause you won't for example have to pay 4GB internal memory.

thanks for making a new thread but i already requested under the "requests to mod and admin" sticky in this forum i guess admin is waiting for a official release date before forum is created.
Since no quote on price yet i am in no rush...

According to a news article about the presentation from HTC in Vienna ( http://derstandard.at/?id=3361660 ) its coming in the late summer, so thats Q2/Q3 and the estimate list price is said to be 699,- EUR, so pretty like Kaiser.
So I vote for forums now

Raphael..... not a Kaiser replacement...
If the X1 has in some way a bent shape when using the keyboard so you can see better the screen, why did not the Raphael was desinged like it like the Kaiser?
Is it that right after few months of raphael is out HTc will come the real replacement of our Kaiser???
I have not read anywhere about it....

It would be a mix of Kaiser / Raphel / 4GB internal... Just wait for 2-3 months for the announcements

The X1 has Sony branding all over it... Also, the X1s keyboard is not as good as the Kaiser/Universal (and the Raphael has a very similar keyboard to them).

I second the request for a forum for the "HTC Touch Pro" / Raphael.
Please give us a space to talk about this beautiful and full-featured device.

also suggesting a Raphael section - in most of other PDA forums there is already one...

Administration is aware of the need for a Raphael forum, it is being sorted out soon i believe

The Kaiser screen tilt is acheived by having the hinge more towards the middle of the screen, but the downside of this is that it takes more space, so the keyboard cannot have as many rows.
The Raphael keyboard is a 5 row design(Kaiser has 4), I guess you could not fit 5 rows of reasonably sized keys AND have a hinge to allow a Kaiser style tilt without it being too weak.

So what's the deal, this thing is on sale is it not? Where's the forum section?
And anyone have a link to where to get one? Either the HTC or the EU T-mobile version?

Not for sale yet... The UK is getting the HTC branded version at the end of August, so operator versions will probably be September/October and a US build one later than that.

Worth Upgrade?

Hello Everyone,
I am a happy user of Imate PDA2K but as we all know it lack the feature of 3G, HSDPA and good camera.
I am looking to upgrade to Hermes (Imate JasJam). But, can someone please confirm the functions and their experience with Hermes. I mean to say can someone tell me how is the camera, sound quality, is there windows 6.1 available for it and similarly more things.

Hermes is no longer produced by HTC...
The closest you can get is TyTn II [Kaiser]...
Have you even bothered to browse HTC's website?

Hi...check EBAY for used Hermes 8525 average prices (it will also tell u the specs). Just make sure the seller has good ratings...

Dude, you also own Hermes. How is your experience is with it.
If i give you a choice between N95 and Imate JasJam. Which one will you select?

for me it's the best device to load many apps, rom flashes (wm6.1 runs great), media, scalability, travel, UI, etc.

Most of the time battery life depends on type of ROM you use and how much you use it. Some ***** about it, some live with it. Hermes is a mid level phone, if you want more juice out of your phone then go for kaiser!

Or get a bigger battery... I can sooo see someone lugging around their hermes attached to a car battery one day......

There is a wealth of information on this phone on the XDA site. Use the search function is a great place to start.
I will however play nice
In my experience the Hermes model is a great phone. Note the amount of development still happening in this forum. Not many other phones of this age still command such attention. It has an abundance of connectivity options. The battery life depends on how much you use it as with any device. I mean to say if you use daily 3 hours Wi-fi and always connected to the 3G Internet service then how long the estimated the battery live. I tried before Nokia N95 and it's battery only last for 2-6 hours in the above stated operations. I am already using PDA2K and happy that it is best phone ever made. but it lacks 3G, HSDPA, and lots more...

Hello, I already read the Wiki but as i stated sometimes real experience is required then reading the wiki. I upgrade my phone every 12 month. But, i don't want to get stuck in something and then looking after to someone who buy it from me. That's why some research and real experience is better then getting stuck.

My next phone after learning windows mobile would have to be the htc touch pro. As I still like the keyboard function.
As previous posters are saying do your research. Get parallel imported phone from a reputable online seller on ebay or where ever you are.

Agree....at first I was excited about the Diamond 2 but with some of the chefs in here that are able to help keep the Diamond 1 in check with memory and all it's little tweaks, it made me want to wait....
I know Diamond 2 has more then just upgraded memory but not enough of an upgrade to jump just yet... It also me financially balancing my books. Let's see what comes out next year.

What's the point if Leo is obviously going win with its Snapdragon and what-not? That said, I did vote for it just for the heck of it.

I fully aggree with you! I've voted instantly for TP2 as (at least for me) it's the perfect device I've seen so far. I've heard a lot of people complaining about HD and even HD2 (software / firmware bugs) so I really believe our TP2 is the best.

HELP: HTC TILT-2 Gelo/Silicon Case

Please I need major help....im getting scratches everywhere on my TILT 2! I couldn't find anything from the stores. I went online but I don't know if they are compatible with HTC TILT 2 since they're made primarily for touch or other htc slider phone (based on the reviews I have read).
I would appreciate any type of information. Thanks in advance!
