Is there anyone who is capable of creating something similar to this application for the iphone or the Touch HD?
Ideally for text and email, I have a copy of the iphone application if that helps?

Hmmm, I can't open any links to this forum in E-mail topic reply notifications because the Gmail app thinks they're quoted text and doesn't show the whole link... pretty crappy if you ask me

my god you are right, i hadnt really noticed that before, its going to really bug me now.
on the plus side i just found out that you can copy paste in the new gmail client. with one hand they give and with the other they take away.
Sorry about that.
And they didn't take anything away - the links not working has been present since I've been using Android (since 2.0)
As for the homepage... you might try iGoogle. Customizable and works well in the Webkit browser
yup igoogle is not a bad idea at all.
After moving to AOSP, the only thing I really miss about Sense ROMs is the People.apk. Normally I dont even use the app. I never open it up to look at my contacts, but I like how it integrates facebook, birthdates, status updates, etc., into the dialer. I hate facebook, but I like that integration because it makes it so I never have to check my facebook because I see it when I call someone.
I also like how you can "link" multiple contacts together. That's kinda fun too.
Does anyone know of any good replacement apps that sync facebook and contacts AND add it into a dialer? It seems like a lot to ask, but I'd pay good money for an app that does.
I'm done with Sense (for now I guess) but that is the one thing that I feel is still misssing from the Market.

Maybe I'm wrong... but I don't think Dialer One does any of that. Maybe that's a good phone replacement... but not contacts.
wel when you type the name in the dialer it comes up

Right. It's great at that. But I'm looking for a little more with facebook integration.
Finally, our Facebook looks like the iPhone one (aka way more functional). I love the new layout, and it's working well for me so far!
Post any feedback on the changes if you have any!
I'm just happy I can comment on notifications again lol

It doesn't suck anymore. The app is both more practical and functional. Love it!
It's about time
It seems to have killed my push notifications [via the blackberry method]
These guys really seem incapable of doing anything right.
Push notifications should be the easiest thing in the world to have working.
I had to turn message notifications off, because with the update it would keep renotifying me about the same message, over & over & over...

It's always done that for me. I get about 100 notifications from FB a day telling me I have "x" many messages... just the same ones, nothing new.
looks exactly like the mobile website (which is what i always used). nothing different. fail IMO

I respectfully disagree. The app was acting correctly for me until this update. Now like you said, I keep getting message notifications for the same ones over and over again.
This is another example of my Snowflake Theory of Epic Touch 4G Phones. No two are exactly alike.
Why use the Mobil app when the Mobil site works fine and sends text notifications .I just sync contacts with social hub to get contact pictures since I can't delete it

working great so far. I like it.

I like having the app because I can upload pics easily, but I agree the website is usually better. I've been using the app today and it really is much better, at least for me.
I'm not a heavy FB user so maybe that's hy I'm not seeing the issues
Personally, I'm a Friendcaster fan. I gave up on the official app a couple months ago.

I'm a photographer so I love that the new update loads pix faster so I can show off my work faster, great picture quality too. awesome for uploads, no difference in quality uploaded mobile or desktop version.
Yes it makes the same appearance as mobile which is great. Ads just a pinch more functionality.

I did the same. You won't be disappointed by this update.

Remember to download the "permissions denied" app from Stephen (STERICSON) to restrict the facebook app permissions from:
YOUR MESSAGES
EDIT SMS OR MMS
Allows application to write to SMS messages stored on your device or SIM card. Malicious applications may delete your messages.
RECEIVE SMS
Allows application to receive and process SMS messages. Malicious applications may monitor your messages or delete them without showing them to you.
READ SMS OR MMS
Allows application to read SMS messages stored on your device or SIM card. Malicious applications may read your confidential messages.
SEND SMS MESSAGES
Allows application to send SMS messages. Malicious applications may cost you money by sending messages without your confirmation.
These permissions serve NO PURPOSE toward the functionality of the app!
It's even better than ios version... The android version can tag someone using @ in conversation.. The ios one still couldn't do that the last time i check...

With the old Facebook I can post pictures to specific albums....with this new one I can't...and that sucks!!

I have never even once had the FB app notifications correctly notify me of things. And I have used it on the N1, Hero, Evo 4G, Evo 3D, NS4G, GSII... it has always been that way in my experience.
Like Comments in Photos
I like the latest update, however, you are still UNABLE to like comments that are made on a photo or even UNABLE to view who likes a photo that you were tagged in!! Anybody else out there realize this as well?
Hi, I just got a Sprint iPhone 4, moved my contacts.I want to move all my text messages from the android HTC EVO 4G to the iPhone 4. I can't seem to find a way, while there seem to be many ways to perform the iphone to android migration. If anyone can help, ill appreciate it.

Hint hint... there has to be a reason...
Joking aside, AFAIK the way to do this is to allow your contacts to be sync'd by Outlook, then iTunes will pick up your contacts and allow you to sync with your new phone.
Bu ti want to move the sms and mms to the iphone, i already did the contacts.. can you explain?
Does Google Sync support the syncing of texts from ios? Not sure right off the bat and can't research it at the moment.

Oops. My bad... the reply was intended only for the contacts part not for the SMS/MMS issue. I don't think its even possible since the way android 'stores' both is very similar to a database. Maybe the iphone has a similar set up but knowing how proprietary is everything with them I would just let it go.
Off topic...just wondering how you like the iphone?
We're comin from a pure power source.
Also, have you used SMS Backup+ on the Evo? I know it won't put your texts in the text application on the iPhone, but at least you won't lose them (you'll have them all saved in your Gmail, under the label "SMS").
Thanks guys, I have all my msg saves , no worries. I guess there isn't a way so far. I have not activated the iPhone yet , I just tether jailbreak it and playing with it, I love open source android
A program can help

Thanks cturin. My wife is making the jump from her Cappy to iPhone and is deadset on having me move her sms to the iPhone.
The software costs $20, so do you think thats a price to swallow for basically a one time use?

To clarify, this is not a text app. It is an instant messenger like WhatsApp or Telegram, which means that it does nothing unless everyone involved has the app.
