WM6.1 ROM like Cotulla's Magician one - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam ROM Development

Hey all, I've been looking all around, it's all too confusing :S
Has a rom been cooked similar to Cotulla's WM6.1 WWE_02 for Magician?
Basically I'm looking for a mostly stock WM6.1 ROM with the speed chooser and working Arcsoft MMS version cooked into it. I have all the extra apps I want in .cab form.
If there is none already, how easy is it for me to cook a 6.1 ROM adding the extra apps from .cabs?
Any help appreciated

I'm not sure about the speed chooser, if it's an overclock/underclock utility, not such thing exists for our hermes. The cpu isn't scaleable.
You might have to try a few roms, to see what you like. CRC has an awesome rom, I have a couple releases. There are tons of roms to sort through.
There is a kitchen thread as well. You can nab a kitchen (I suggest several kitchens), and with some trial and error, it isn't too hard to roll your own.

CLEAN Windows Mobile 5 with Crossbow Interfaces

I just cooked WM5 based on original Dopod 838pro ROM. I removed all of the garbage inside so the ROM is really clean and fast. I need some advice for this, so please test this ROM and give me a feedback..
It's already contain HardSPL v7 by olipro and 1.41 radio rom, and newest IPL.
I removed the extended ROM, so you can use the extended ROM space for something useful. The storage usage is about 3Mb only, the rest is free.
I also had some trouble with this: anyone can give me an instrustion how to make the PreAutorun.exe and PreConfig.txt work? coz usually it will do some cust after hard reset, but mine is not working. that's the only problem.
Thank's everyone.

Any response or feedback?
The lack of feedback is almost certainly related to the fact that this is the WM6 forum and your advertising your cooked WM5 rom. Not many people are going to be particularly interested here, try posting in the Hermes Upgrading forum. Might have more luck there
No screenshots, no information, parts not functional, etc. What were you expecting to see?

Cooks Help needed.

Just a little bit of info needed as I am new to all this cooking ROMS.
I am using the Core Kitchen which I have found easy when extracting a ROM and I have been using the schaps ROM as it contats the RGU files with the packages as oppose to the Black Roms which dont and I am not confident enough to be able to sort out that mess yet.
The question is in two parts and I hope you can help me a little.
Part 1: when you extract the ROM what is contained in the OS.nb file the reas on I ask is I want to get a Basic from MS ROM so I can start with my own ROM building as oppose to someone elses (VERY GOOD I MIGHT ADD) ROM.
Part 2: where can I get the RTM M$ WM6 ROM from a rom without any modifications or any added packages just the M$ PDA/PHONE ROM.
Please help this is the only two bits that im really lost with.
I have a Vario 2 on T Mobile uk
you might want to look at the FTP for vanilla wm6 roms...
the last time i checked, it was still there.
I have seen the Vanilla ROM is that the M$ RTM base OS then ???
hey guys,
can you tell me what specs you enter into duttys tool as im having problems?
thanks in advance
PDAJAS
ImateJasjam (HERMES100)
Radio: 1.20.31.10
Rom: Black IV Shadow
Olipro 2.10
Telstra AUS
Not sure im new to all this myself as you can prob tell.
Vanilla ROM has too many missig files that I cannot even find according to the tutorial with CORE an official ROM wont have any missing files schaps only has 1 which i know where to find it so can put it in the right place.
It just seems easier to want to start with a RTM official M$ rom and build on it rather than hack bits out of an already cooked rom.
the FTP?
Where is this? (it's early for me, is it in the wiki?)

Its on the Wiki i looked at Cooked Roms on the main wiki page and then it gave me a list of them that were avaliable. Vanilla was on the top of the list.
Skauk,
you can also give a look at the Dopod ROM posted here in the forum... even that its not the newes build, it has nothing added/mising; it could be a good start point.
Regards;
thankyou I will give dopod a look tonight then its so anoying that you cannot get hold of the latest builds that some of these people have so we might start without the bugs of previous builds...
if anyone knows where I can get a later build RTM that's not cooked already you would be number 1 on my xmas card list lol.
Dopod ispretty hard to work out also so anyone else help me find latest build wm6 so i can build on it ??

I would suggest you spend a little time in the upgrading section. As far as a stock windows mobile 6 rom, the problem is there aren't any yet. Although I think some upgrades may be coming along in the next few months. The roms here are pieced together from other machines or pulled from unreleased versions. I don't know of a true "stock" hermes wm6 rom at this point. You could get a WM5 rom to practice with which would show you what to expect, and what "comes with" though.
Good luck,

Wizard ROm on a Herm... possible?

I have a T-Mobile MDA with this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=331411 and I like it alot.
Id like to know if I can flash my Herm with it and still have all the functionality.
No you can't. Different hardware require different software
Why would you want to do that. There are soo many different roms for the hermes. Alot of great ones I might add.
the functionality you speak of is all in the rom, find out what gives it that functionality and cook it into a hermes rom
i would strongly advise against flashing a wizard rom to a hermes, first of all theres different drivers and other dll's and registry settings that are specific to the thermes running which will not be in the wizard rom
happy cooking!

WM6.1 Rom to cook

I know alot of the chefs on here are top notch and use a method of not using RGU files in there ROM.s but I need a good base WM6.1 ROM that I can extract using Core Kitchen and alter as I fancy having a go at making my own. However I cannot find a good base WM6.1 ROM to develop that doesnt have the RGU fiels taken out. Any Ideas on which WM6.1 ROM is good to start cooking with ?
good shout!
I'll second that!
I'm about to embark on a project too...
ALWAYS try pandora naked, download the kitchen from the thread as it has all the tools in the zip already broken into OEM/SYS. The latest build is pretty good and its the one im using in the new ROM im flashing tonight at some point (V7).
matt_rk is pretty swell about releasing the rom bases etc... so i wouldnt worry about it being behind in terms of versions alongside the latest builds of PaYs / Ks rom etc...

Clean wm 6.5 ROM - Is there one?

In the jungle of different roms I'm looking for a clean wm 6.5 ROM,
not one that has 100 things I never use, or need.
Could anyone point me to such a ROM?
go for BSB. remove theme "et voila" you're done.
You can also try the Lobsterdave kitchen and pick and choose what you want.
Thank you all for the good answeres.
Testing that kitchen now
