its good for the first time but its kinda too red and colourful....i would get dizzy easily.....

Anyways, I get what you're trying to do, but the theme doesn't exactly flow together. Personally, I'm most fond of the RiddleBox colors, the purple, lime green, and black work well together. Personally preference is all that is. As it is right now, it's hard to just get the psychopathic vibe, as it's not a smooth skin. Think of the jokers cards, think of the Bizaar/Bizzar album, they were all relatively smooth and really non violent with more of a dark twisted nature. Maybe try to capture that?

They would be considered a weird mix of metal/rap. Nothing like punk in any way. I'm not a fan of anything more than a couple songs but I know them well enough to know that's nothing near punk.
Also, perhaps it's dead where you are and all you folks listen to is top 20 BS and dance music, but honestly I'd rather listen to that then the techno crap you listen to out there.
Back on topic. Not at all my style. Too bright in my opinion..... HOWEVER, keep in mind that if you like it? Chances are someone else does as well. Don't try to make the masses happy. Make something you like and (like you have) ask for suggestions. There WILL be people that like it.

I'm working on making it flow now... I know know how to make a theme on the technical side, I'm still working on cohesiveness. and knowing what colors work with what, you know what I mean?
I am using purple, green, black, and a touch of other colors.

Just because psychopathic went back underground where we belong after the hay day on MTV doesnt mean they went down hill. Psychopathic is one of, if not the stongest underground label out there. Juggalos arnt going anywhere...though we may be flooded with many candy kids who shop at hot topic. nature of the beast.

Hello everyone... Well i figured that i would give this a shot.. I began starting to create a theme to look something like "the matrix" but not the movie... just the whole green and black look... I started it and well i ran into some problems a while ago that i kind of bumbed me out so i stopped.. But now looking back at it i would like to know if anybody would really even be interested in having it on your phone.. Let me know what you think.. And i know that i got little dash of one theme and a dash of another but like i said its not complete and it will be changed such as the icons or what not..

But just a suggestion... I know you said you didn't wanna make it like the movie but I think it would look cool if for the lock screen you used the red & blue pills

Guessing that is aimed at people like me. Listen mate, if you wait 6 weeks for a phone you want to make sure it's right.
As it happens, the auto brightness is really aggressive, which means the screen automatically sets it's self very low and therefore it's very obviously patchy. If you turn the screen up it looks fine but this obviously isn't that practical.
There's nothing wrong with asking a few questions.
Tbh that is exactly what you should expect when you are a website originally built for developers and there has been the release of a new phone primarily aimed at developers.
They'll naturally want to know the capabilities and issues with their phone, more so even than another phone like S2.

I can't stop laughing at all those weeks I waited and the £530 I paid.
Every time I think of the bugs and problems, I have to pick myself up the floor from letting out a hearty laugh. I just can't help myself. In fact... I think there's one coming now....can't....stop....myself.......HA HA HA!
Come on now. We bought a new phone. It was expensive. We waited through delay after delay, and uncertainty from retailers telling us one thing then changing it at the last second to something else.
We're trying to enjoy it, we really are, but the problems are stopping us from doing so.

A phone/tablet/monitor with a dead pixel, car with a chipped windshield, or a plasma HDTV with image burn are real reasons to complain/return the item. I have no problem with someone wanting to return a Nexus they bought if it has a line through the screen or the volume buttons aren't working properly.
The difference here is that most people are complaining about extremely subjective things, and frankly getting really nit-picky about finding "problems".
Its like returning a car because "it just doesn't handle right for me", a plasma HDTV because "it doesn't look very good with my stereo equipment", or a phone because "the menu button doesn't work the way I thought it would".
But this isn't exclusive to the Galaxy Nexus. People like to complain about every phone that comes out. Most of the people complaining don't even own the phone either. If you read any forum within a week after a device comes out, it'll make you feel like the device is an absolute POS that you shouldn't have paid $5 for. Get the device for yourself and make your own decision, I'm sure you'll be much happer with it.
Anyways, OP, I'm with you. Take all these threads as pure comedic relief. There's no reason to put any stock into what these people are saying. Read it for fun, form your own opinions after you use the device.

I have a black theme, including plain black wallpaper. It looks amazing on the Super AMOLED. It would be great if the settings could be turned black.
that background is likely going to be part of the framework. i wouldn't imagine it would be xml code since it's gradient, but i could be wrong...
edit: it's called within the Settings.apk so i'll break it apart and take a look really quick.

i have no clue. i've been poking around in both framework and settings and can't seem to find the call in =/
edit: it's bothering me because i've changed this on accident within the Settings.apk on Gingerbread
my question is "where is the Blackout Rom?". black and/or transparent all the way across the board and rom ftw. and who is doing black gloss painting for the nexus mod?

transparent with black blackground for wallpaper achieves the same thing and lets you kinda see what's going on behind that window sometimes.

thanks mate! i just saw that someone confirmed my thoughts, that it was indeed pulled in from framework. i figured this was the case, though, since you see this background in other non system apps.
i don't have my environment set up here at work, but as soon as i get back home i'll figure out where this is in Settings.apk and change it to black for you guys and post it here as a flashable (if no one beats me to it )

It is my business when people are hassling the devs in here. You kids need to learn some respect. The devs are here for free and don't need to be rushed with their work. Too many kids just expect things to be handed to them just as fast as they can ask for them.

Getting my White SG2 tomorrow - stoked! I know this will probably get balked at as a dumb ass thread, but gimme me a break, it's the general section. I'm new to the SG2 forums, been looking around the last couple days, but want to know if some users could offer some starting off tips. I understand there are no stable cm roms at the moment, so is what's available mostly just tweaks of the stock tw 4.0? What are the current benefits of rooting, removal of bloatware and tw theming?
For the record, I've rooted and run circles around my last two phones, but they were both HTC so this is my first dance with a Samsung Android, and I hear it's a little different.

welcome to the sgs2 ,i love my phone but development sucks over here ,seems like there are a bunch of immature teenagers in this forum cursing each other out and seems like a dev gets banned every week .very dissapointing if your coming from an HTC phone where the dev support is mostly pretty good and civil.But any how the sgs2 is a great phone ...enjoy and welcome
i use beastmod rom.... Phone is sweet but i just got a nexus today and damn... that phone even though it's pentile it looks sweet at 720p.
Only tip from me is beware of static images.. super amoled burns in faster than plasma.... I always keep screen moving... my old galaxy s had notification bar burn in and even icons and i was good with it. Use a rom of theme with blue clock or easy color... image retention with white clock is almost instant.

best stable rom around here would probably be juggernaut rom paired with faux's kernel(very very smooth) use that with touchwiz 4.5 and you'll customize the theme however you want.

Agree! I came here from HTC G2 (Vision). The support over there is Amazing! So many roms that I couldn't decide. The devs are very nice and professional unlike here. Call me troll/hater but I'm telling the truth. I am a bit disappointed by the support for this phone. I wish the CM team has more love for this device.

It's my understanding from the reading I've done so far that cm9 is in the works...supposedly maybe an ics rom??
To all the others, thanks for the suggestions. Even though the SG2 has been around awhile, the TMO version is still pretty new, and I think most people who have upgraded to a 'new' TMO phone will either be on this or the Amaze, so hopefully the pumped up devving is coming. And with ICS on the horizon, who know's what's to come...? At the TMO store the other day and a rep (who uses the SG2 as his phone) told me he's pretty sure the SG2 will be getting ICS within 1-2 months. For those interested, he also told me he was sure that when the next iphone hits (iphone 5?) TMO will carry it...but who knows on that front lol.
Thats probably good news for Tmobile if they get the iPhone but that does nothing for me as I don't like them, my hopes are T-Mobile switches to LTE and carries the GS3 but that's a long shot on the LTE thing for this year but more than likely they will have it in the future

whatre you talking about? we have generally good devs with a few small exceptions.. and cm9 is coming
pretty good phone and good roms available.
Rocking beast mod 4.0 ...bullet kernel...n green hulk smash theme....not going to lie obsessed wit my fone....cm is coming though thanxs to team darkside so have no fears...there really nice...I'm not a pro, but if u have any questions feel free to ask me n ill try n help u out... just make sure to hit thanx button every now n then if I help btw welcome to the family lol

I went through about 5 SGS2s and each had the screen problem - which I couldn't bare.
Hopefully samsung fixes the issue within a month or two so I can get the phone again but until then, I will be without it

You're talking about the 'streaks' that show up on the screen? I've read about this elsewhere on XDA, anxious to see for myself when the phone gets here sometime today. Having streaks going across my phone's display on a regular basis is the kind of thing I'm not willing to deal with for a $500 price tag. We'll see...thanks for the heads up.

Honestly ppl find something to complain about ...its Rly not that serious u.only notic this if u have brightness all the way down to zero which u will nvr do BC this screen is amazin when.its bright I have mine at 20-30% n I'm good money no lines or anything...ull be fine. Trust me

Plus forty. I do understand we spent allot of money and there really shouldn't be any defects but no phone is perfect and compared to other hardware imperfections that other phones have I'll take this any day.

Im fairly certain Tmobile is going to start switching over to LTE Read This, there is some really interesting info in it about tmobile and LTE.
I would suggest you spend 1 or 2 weeks to use it first, once you get a hang of it you can upgrade android version or root the phone using Odin.
