Found this application where you can watch TV on your Touch HD. I've installed it today and works well.
Does not work in Australia.
Installed application. But does not work in Australia.
Pity.
David
Not working
i tryed to log in but it won't let me .I don't know why?
Your not missing much. It is the same as WebTV but with built in player. WebTV is better IMO as it has more choice and variety.
I had no problems at all logging in, just had fill out user name, password etc and it fired up. Don't know why it wouldn't work in Australia as it is Webtv.
Works in the UK.
Channel choice is very limited. ITV, Channel 5 (both have streaming services available in MYplayer app) are missing from here.
Otherwise a nice little app to keep you busy during a bus or train ride.
i tried to register from italy then i typed the user and pass and i wouldn't log m in.i pressed "forgot password" and i got a new pass in my email inbx so now i can login.I prefer webtv but.i don't really like the "login" thing
I've tried it on my ATT/Tilt. Every channel has very low frame rates, no options to improve quality. Their website doesn't offer any support, only install/uninstall info.I found this forum to which I'm the only poster on it http://thechanner.ning.com/. It's supposed to be a beta testers community forum.
IMO Web TV blows this away!

Hey guys,
I just had to mention this software that I just ran into yesterday. If you've already seen it, I apologize for bringing it up agian...
I installed it yesterday, and it does the coolest thing. I can broadcast LIVE video from my phone that can be seen from a web browser. Not only that, but it also brings up a google map tracking my position in real time.
Set the phone on your vehicle dash, start broadcasting, Drive around, and people can watch your trip in real time with a map showing your location...
I hope I have not double posted about this, but I really wanted to share.
Ok, I just found it was posted in the Development and Hacking forum, but I still think I'll bring it to the Trinity Forum since I've verified it works on the Trinity.
Website

Latest CAB is always available here
www.ix-m.com/downloads/livecam.cab
Install the 'Live Media GPS' software on your phone, and the 'Live Media for Windows' on your computer.
Be sure you have the GPS linked up, or it will not broadcast.
You also have the option of viewing your Desktop Computer Video from your Trinity.
I hope somebody enjoys this as much as I am!
Nice to see you here. Great software.
I'm just watching Live Stream - Motorbike - diterex. Fantastic.
Best regards !

Good to see you too.... We miss you over here in WWE Trinity World.
Another cool feature is that you can send instant Audio Clips to the person viewing the video, or Vice Versa. It only takes seconds to send and receive them.
This sounds awesome. I agree that it's always worth reposting in Trinity to show it works. I'll test it soon.
Best to install it on a lite ROM I imagine (not Manila based)?

Actually, I'm currently running the g77 Manilla rom, and it installed and works fine. So Far.
Getting Started Tips
If you are interested in trying this, here are a few tips:
1. You need to create two seperate accounts for the Mobile version and the Desktop Version. Then you can link the two accounts as Buddies and view the video back and forth. Using the Buddy option keeps others from seeing your video unless you want them to, in which case you can broadcast to the Public pages.
2. After installing to your Mobile, be sure to go into the 'Settings' and then 'Video Recorder' and turn off 'Direct screen mode' to show your video on the Trinity.
3. I've tried leaving the option 'Video with Audio' on and off. It works both ways, but is better video if audio is off.
4. If you'd like to start Broadcasting on your Wife's/Husbands/Kids Trinity, you can enable the 'SMS Activation' option. By sending a text to the phone with the security code, it will start transmitting automatically.
5. As mentioned in an earlier post, the GPS MUST be synced before the Broadcasting will work. It may take a few minutes in clear skies for it to link up, so be patient. (As with any GPS enabled program on the Trinity)
6. Keep in mind that this is probably a HUGE battery drainer. I have not tested how bad, but it IS using the GPS, Camera, Audio, Network, all at the same time. But, if plugged into a charger while driving, it's not a big deal.
7. If you are not connected using WI-FI, BE AWARE that this will connect your Data Connection and might be charging you $$$. I'm on an unlimited Data Plan, so it's not a problem here.
8. Don't Broadcast any "Adult" content to the Public site, or you will be banned. Whatever you do with your Wife/Girlfriend/Dog/Goat/Etc using the Direct Buddy option is up to you...
8. Don't forget to try the 'Send Voice Message' or on the Mobile "Live Talk" feature. It's pretty quick, and AWESOME audio quality.
9. Have Fun!
For now, that's all I can think of. As I use it more, I'll add things if needed. Feel free to do the same.
great!
it seems gpsgate can do these too, exclude video audio sharing
thx
Guys,
Had a search but couldn't find anything, so unsure if this has already been discussed.
If so I apologies in advance to the original poster.
The Question:
On the Samsung Galaxy S web site advertisement it shows a 'Morning' or 'Home' screen with several icons and a large clock.
Also there is then the 'Driving' screen which again shows several icons relating to applications you will want to see and use whilst getting to work.
Finally at the end of the evening we have a 'TV Remote Control' to take over the television.
Have I missed something but I can't find any of these available?
Thanks in advance for any news.
Are these not apps that will be available from the Samsung Store / Market when it launches?

Well if that is the case then why are we not seeing them?
The Galaxy S has now been out since the 4th June and you would have thought if they showed these Apps runnning at their shows we would now be seeing them live on our very own screens.
Beards sorry to say that Samsung is like that... when i bought my Samsung Omnia II, there were apps that were inlcuded with the phone etc when they were presenting it.. then when i got the unit it didnt have them.. also i wouldnt rely too much on the Samsung App store, its useless.. The Windows Mobile Version was really crap too...
Thanks...
Although I am loving the phone I can't say the same for Samsung.
They even got the battery type wrong in the end.... or simply changed it from being a Li-Pol to a Li-Ion ~ which I've posted on in another topic).
Annoyed by this as well, was sold on the phone partly on things like the remote control app as I have a Samsung TV and the remote for it is absolutely terrible.
Will probably be worth emailing them en-masse to see if they have just delayed the app or hoped nobody would notice.

I know and feel the same as you.
I too have one of the latest Samsung Series 8 TV's and was looking forward to having that remote (my Granddaughter manages often to sneakily get the TV Remote. The TV comes with two remotes ~ a large normal remote and a small ball like-shaped remote which my Wife has by her chair)
I will look for an appropriate email address when I get home from work, we should probably get as many people as we can with the SGS to email them and see what their reply is. Could probably throw in some "false advertising" talk and see if it calls their hand.

That will be geat..... Rather than all of us looking and finding different email addresses it will make sense to have one common address to hit.
I'm all for sending off messages to those that do not deliver as promised.
Let's be honest, if a certain fruit flavoured company did this, they would be looking at a swift invite to court.
are they not part of touch wiz and switched on when you use the home or car docks? Not sure about the tv remote - but i heard that only worked with 2010 samsung tv's anyway (via dlna?)
i believe there are some developer tools that let you fake various dock schemes on the android marketplace if oyu want to check.
Well for those of us in the UK this seems the best bet:

Thank you for this.
I was just about to start sending off a message when I decided to first go to the Samsung-Mobile UK web site and get the names of the morning alarm and car screens which showed the application icons.
Imagine my surprise when I find the movie they used to play that used to show these screens (including the TV Remote) have all disappeared.
Has anyone else noticed these items seemed to be have dropped from the Samsung sites?
Here's the UK one which used to show them.
EDITED:
Okay, I dropped them off an email.
If anyone wishes to use/copy the one I sent please feel free to do so.
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to you today in order that I may obtain information as to the whereabouts of various screens and applications that are missing from the previously shown video promotion for the Samung i9000 Galaxy S.
When the Samsung i9000 Galaxy S was first introduced it showed on various Samsung web sites a video promotion of the phone being run outlining various screen uses it would carry out throughout the course of the day.
The first of these screen uses were a 'Morning Screen' which showed the TIME in Landscape mode and had various morning applications.
Next we had the 'In Car Screen' where the i9000's screen had now changed with this time showing (again in Landscape mode) various applications laid out in a pattern that were associated with work/business.
Finally towards the end of the evening we had an 'Entertainment Screen', where one could sit back in front of their Samsung TV and use the i9000 as a TV Remote.
My question to you is ~ What has happened to these screens.
1. Why do we not see these screens and applications on our i9000 Galaxy S as previously advertised?
2. Why have these screens been dropped from the Samsung web site video promotion?
I purchased my Samsung i9000 Galaxy S in part based on the web video promotion and what was shown at the various Live Shows.
Now I find these screens and applications no longer advertised nor available on the i9000.
I look forward to your kind response.
Yours sincerely
Nicely put, I will use the same one, was a little tipsy last night so had to stop myself sending a message in case I said anything silly.
the remote is part of the allshare app - controlls your 2010 sammy tv via dlna. the other screens are dock specific - car and home dock respectively so i assume part of touchwiz.
a bit of googling is all you need to find this out.

Then why has Samsung removed all reference to this from the web site I gave earlier?
Also, ref the DLNA screen...... I don't get any remote showing for my Samsung Series 8 TV.
Well guys, I received a reply from Samsung.... and not one that I was wanting either.
Basically the department have washed their hands of the question and told me to go to 'Tech Supp'.
I've now fired another question to them asking why on earth this is a technical issue?
Below is the reply I received from Samsung:-
Dear Mr Paterson
Thank you for your email to Samsung Mobile Content UK regarding the I9000.

Thanks Mark.
As you and anyone else reading this will understand, the only way we are going to get answers is to voice our concerns and questions.
The more that ask the stronger our feelings should be felt.
The answer is probably simple and clear but to make it that way we have to ask Samsung to 'spell it out'.
... and I was given the same 'Go F... Yourself' response that you were....
Can anyone tell me what is the latest with Shazam music recognition for Windows Mobile?
The Shazam website claims it's available from Windows Marketplace but it isn't, and indeed it took me some considerable time before I finally found a cab at all; on somebody's blog, placed there in 2009. It runs on my TP2 and is surprisingly good, but I do wonder if there's an updated version, or could it be that it's actually no longer available at all (which is certainly how it seems from trying to find it) in which case why would that be? Any light anyone can shed would be gratefully received, thanks.
i have version 1.3.16. it's probably an OOOOLD version. Message me if you want more info
Looks like it's still up on the Marketplace to me...maybe not in your region? Are you outside the US?
Otherwise I use Midomi (also shown in the screen shot). Works like a charm.
shazam is still in the marketplace. it is completely useless on windows mobile. i would use midomi. not the version that comes from the marketplace but the one ripped from the samsung... something. its in the apps section of this subforum. its free to use, it finds songs quicker than shazam, and you can sing or hum the song which really does work actually.
From the screenshots and details Midomi certainly looks like a more mature program than Shazam (whos UI I dislike). I've downloaded it from here and will install and test as soon as I have time. Many thanks. And yes, I'm in the UK, so presumably that explains the Shazam restriction. For whatever reason it seems to be completely unavailable here.
shazam is british iirc. but its still a bit lame. it was the first music recognition and on the iphone it works well even though it isnt free unlimited anymore. midomi is just better for this phone.
Ditto. The Midomi cab here on XDA from the Samsung [insert model here] works better than Shazam (imo).
How about we make a list of games and apps we KNOW have compatibility problems with the A100, and a possible workaround or future prospect.
Something like this:
Moxier Mail -- Incompatible because of resolution problems. Dev says it'll be fixed in upcoming upgrade.
Mizuu Movies -- emailed the dev, he said he should have support for smaller screen tablets ready around mid-November. (If you guys haven't seen or tried Mizuu Movies, you really should. It's phenomenal.)
Reddita -- about to email the dev (he's an XDA member) and see if he can help us out.
IMDb -- resorts to the phone version of the app, rather than the EXCELLENT tablet layout.
Movies (Flixster's Rotten Tomatoes app) -- installs but force closes on our small resolution tablets. (An excellent tablet app on the 10.1 inch Honeycomb tabs, though).
Feel free to add away!

This is a good idea and the best way is for the OP to keep adding the apps that users list, so that members visiting this thread can see from the first post which all apps are compatible.
I am gonna add the ones from above my post to the OP
Driftmania Championship- staays stuck on the first screen appears. Emailed dev, assuming they are working on it.
ummmmm............ could you repeat that?
Whatsapp for tablets
Does anyone know or have an idea why or when will be "whatsapp" app available for Tablets? I tried on my A100 but the installer said it's no compatible
Hi all,
Now that Amazon Fire TV is launching in the UK and Germany, I am very keen to be able to merge apps from different countries.
I guess to be able to do this, I would first have to either:
a) Switch the device to a different region and then install an app, then go back to my main region and somehow sideload it or install it in.
For example, if I choose the US version as my main hub, I would also like to copy UK apps and German apps across to the US hub (say Demand 5 from the UK, and Zattoo from Germany).
Would this be possible to sit side by side with the US apps then? (I am talking about official Fire TV apps, not standard Android versions designed for mobile phones).
or would I need someone who has the UK version to copy the app out and send it to me?
I guess many people may not have been able to test this yet since the German version will not launch until the 25th of this month, and the UK one next month, but perhaps people know already if apps can be saved and copied.

I think another problem will be geo block, so even if we as a community share the apk's, they still might not work unless the connection is pushed through a proxy from that country.
What I would love to see is a addon where FireTV (or wider xbmc) users can allow to share their connection with the rest of the community as a proxy, this has to be under certain time and bandwidth parameters and only for known geo blocked URL's. (needs to be very clear what acces is given to other users using your IP)
This would allow world wide content for everybody, having a US IP myself, would love to have acces to the UK BBC media.
Some automated addon to select tor exit nodes might work too, but think the performance would be way better if this is done within the FireTV/XBMC community.
Hi Userr12,
The geo-blocking part should not be a problem. The key is using something like Smart DNS (google eyeondemand) which should work for most services.
The beauty about smart DNS is that unlike a VPN, it can unblock any country (A VPN will just work for one at a time), making this perfect for mix and matching apps on the Amazon Fire TV. So, you could switch say from Hulu to Demand 5 or Zattoo etc.
Never heard of that option before, that's great though, direct it on DNS level, will look into it.

Can you give me some more advice on how to do this, for a total n00b? My fire tv is coming shortly, and I'd like to access US Netflix but still have UK apps like Demand 5 and iPlayer. I was planning on buying unblock-us but I'd much rather get something like what you mentioned above.
