Tmobile MMS errors. please help! - HTC Excalibur

Hi, i cannot get my MMS to work on my tmobile dash. I HAVE TRIED this http://tmobileuspublic.wdsglobal.com/ and it still does not work. I have windows mobile 6.1 kavana. Does anybody also have kavana with working MMS, could you tell me your settings.
Thank You

Either it will or it wont. I just posted a registry tweak to keep the data connected, you can do the same with MMS. Also search, every week there seems to be a new thread posted about this. I just tell people to send to my email when Im "dash'in". After some flashes it seems to work fine then sometimes after a master reset or another flash its dead. Just start looking thought the past posts youll see thread after thread about it.

For some reason this must be a random phone problem, 'cause I've flashed my phone about 5 times and I have never had an mms problem.

Where is this registry tweak please??

Mobile Device\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Comm\ConnMgr\Providers\{7C4B7A38-5FF7-4bc1-80F6-5DA7870BB1AA}\Connections\T-Mo MMS
Always on: Change the value from 0 to 1
I cant guarantee it will work though, and for the noobs registry tweaks can mess up the phone if you dont know what your doing.
I had this set for T-Mo data and today I was getting Data "black outs" again after about 5 days of use.

well the registry tweak didnt do anything. I've been looking around and i think it might have something to do with my proxy settings. Anybody know what these should be.

im havin the same problems i have to turn off my phone and on to get mms o to send im tired sll readyyy i need helpp i got the kavanna rom

These are the settings I use on my Q, try this out on the dash and see if they work:

I have flashed my phone approximately 14 times. Is that safe? What is the standard? How many times are you able to flash your phone actually?
**Edit**
And don't say "until it bricks" lol.

Im sure it will not harm your phone, Im sure people on here flashed waaaay more than that. I must have flashed mine over 20 times since I got it. Just dont disconnect the cable while its installing or do something stupid like that.

1000's of times no need to worry like phatmanxxl just make sure battery is over 50% on flash and don't disconnect the USB lead
Must have flashed the Dash aprx 250 times
Tilt i flash about every 2-3 days & that can mean flashin new ROM then going back to my everyday.

Where are the xperts tonight? i'm with you on this as my first thoughts is it has to do with msvc? just due to the text.
OP turn off MSVC in MSVC settings reboot see if thats it? If not hard-reset.

If you reflashed then none of the previous settings will be on your phone, flash stock ROM if it's still happening i'd advise you call your carrier to ask what is going on?

keeps searching for signal....

my dads phone keep searching for signal when he is home or in some parts of area but when its outside he has four bars but some times it then says searching again
What is he running on? ROM wise that is.

Has nothing to do with it.
Guess what buddy, its been 2 days I am running the same ROM and last night, as I mentioned in another thread, same problem... it keeps searching for way too long, whereas the Kavana was always locked on the network.
I like this ROM overall, but I am gonna flash Kavana back.
Styles, you need to work on this one.

Sometimes a reflash can help fix the problems. First time I installed Kavanna I could not get the data and MMS to work for the life of me. I wiped and reflashed and now they both work fine without any tinkering with the GPRS setttings.
i jus reflashed it to kavana still dosnt work maybe its jus da phone itself well thanks anyway

[Q] Major problem!!!

not sure where to begin, i suppose by listing my phone specs after root--
using the galaxy s2, (epic 4g touch) using kernal 2.6.35-8lostkernelexp+, build number starburst 11.13.11 v1.9.8r and running nothing but the honey theme.
i rooted the phone about a week ago and until today, everything seemed to work fine, then suddenly, i was unable to send pictures via text. not a real big issue, but i travel alot and sending pics back home by messages i a big deal for me. i thought it was just somethin with the phone, and after rebooting and rebooting to see if it would correct, it did not. however, normal text's would go through, just not any pics. i could send and receive normal words with no issues.
then just today, i totally lost internet connection--although the 3g is lit up on top, and i have 4 full bars of signal, i cannot surf, all i get is "unable to display webpage". since im at home, i turned on the wifi option and connected through the router in my house, and all worked fine-- i got online, send pic texts, etc...but when i turned wifi off, nothing.
now, back when i rooted the phone, i still kept getting the annoying "system update" messages that the phone normally does, forcing me to install whatever update the phone grabs. to prevent that, i did the steps on this site which was here--
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1388778&highlight=freeze+ota
and disabled my update notifications. well, back to the beginning--now i have no internet at all and god only knows what else is wrong that i have yet to discover.
only thing i can think of at this point, is to unroot the phone , return it to the way it was and see how it goes but i dont want to do that--
any ideas?

Why not nandroid a backup of your current setup and then do a full factory reset wipe and ODIN over a stock rom and see if that fixes it...if it does then there is no reason to bring a perfectly good phone back.
Diagnostic process bro, get on it.
However if that doesn't yield any results? Might be bad hardware (which I doubt) and probably not your fault.
EDIT: You haven't changed your PRL by chance, have you? Sometimes on 11115 or 00001 I get intermittent MMS function...and a few times, legit PRL or not, my wifi/4g have just stopped working. A wipe and stock-restore took care of that every time...though that was a week or two after the phone came out and we didn't have nearly as many tools and options as we do now.
Also, are you sure that you haven't somehow disabled 3G or put it into airplane mode? As insulting as that sounds I have to ask....
...sometimes even the brightest of us forget to plug things in.
Odin restore would be the first step.
I would try ##72786# in the dialer then entering your msl. After that just just hut yes then let your phone do its thing and reboot and reactivate. Just remember to cancel it during the firmware check.

Good call...or even just trying to refresh your profile under 'updates' would be the easiest place to start...
The mms issues are likely a limitation of the ROM you are running (I haven't run Starburst in a couple of months so you'll have to ask about that in the ROM thread.) Easily resolved by using a third party app for mms if it is an important feature for you.
As far as the rest, the code provided by beejis is the reprovisioning code, also called a hands free reset and there is a bit more to the process than he stated (at least for a noob.) Hit the toolkit link in my signature and you'll find step by step instructions.
If that doesn't work, starting fresh is an incredibly simple process.
Also, posting the exact same question in two different forums is breaking a Cardinal rule, so you probably want to refrain from that, it won't win you many friends.

yes i tried that, after the phone reboots, it says uptop "device not activated" and nothiing....i have to manually go into settings/about phone/system update and do it from there and even then, after a few secs, i get an error message saying unable to complete...

yes, tried that to.....get nothing but "error cannot complete" messages. all i can do now is make calls
If you have titanium backup, go into that app then click backup/restore at the top. Find system updates and click on it to see if it's frozen, if it is defrost it. Then try my steps again. Other than that I'd try to Odin a stock ROM.

ok thanks, i went back to odin stock rom, did it from qbking77's post and the phone is back on stock...however............still no internet/data!!
i did do the ##number thing, the phone rebooted but notihng happened--i thought it was supposed to auto activate or something. so i went into settings/about phone/update profile....it scanned and after a few mins, i still get the error message "update could not be completed, if problem persists contact sprint customer support"
so im back on factory rom, but nothings changed---im where i was before--no data/internet....
before installing a different rom and such, i figure ill stop here and see what other suggestions may come about....sooooo, what next?
Take your phone in to a sprint store, an exchange may be in your future.

gee i hope not... i got the phone dec 14th, cant imagine having probs this early....
what if i did a total wipe, factory reset? i know ill loose everything on the phone, and now that its not rooted any longer, i have no way to back up anything (or at least not that i know of)
just hoping theres a better fix than a return/ factory reset
Now that you are stock, call sprint tell them your issue (only tell then internet doesn't work) and they'll do stuff on their end to trouble shoot it. Hopefully that will fix it.

I would try this. This will reset you back to exactly the way you got the phone. If you are still having problems then you will have to take it back to Sprint.

That sucks, I'd recommend taking the phone to Sprint/where you bought it, and get it replaced/fixed. Good news is you're now back on stock so they won't really look into rooting as a problem. I always put phones back to stock before I take it in for a claim.

yea, dunno...
i did call sprint per Beejis reply here just above yours. after going through a ton of crap that i did yesterday and all today, the ## number crap, they tell me there's a nationwide outage. now i find that hard to believe since both my other phones in the house, wife/kid work just fine and they have data/internet and other ppl i know have no problems....i told the tech person that it just must be my phone only cuz everyone else's seems to work.
she did give me an outage number, maybe someone on here can verify it -- 8622911 so who the heck knows. what i do know is, i sure spent a heck of alota time on here, resetting my phone, unrooting, blahh blahh just to find out there's an outage which i doubt in the first place ...
we'll see,,,,,
If you are now stock/rooted, sounds like you need to use sfhubs auto root script to go back to stock recovery (overwrite your custom recovery) unroot, and take it back to Sprint.

its just stock odin at this point, as if it came from the store.
also, still no data/internet as of this morning. dont know why sprint
is telling me this bs story of an outage, and even if so, i find it way hard to beleive its a 4 day outage
but yes, looks like im headed back to the store-- i got it at best buy, have insurance and all that, but ill wait till tomorrow or something just in case this phantom outage corrects itself
by the way, where do i find this sfhubs root your talking about?
oh one other thing i discovered today also, now gps dont work either, no location, no search no nothing and it is turned on......... sigh

yes ive tried multiple modems and set the apn setting for my carrier.. although i thought it should still connect to the network without apn settings and just the data wouldnt work.
ive looked through a ton of other threads and ive seen alot of people talking about .nv_data files in the efs folder.. when i use root explorer i dont see any .nv_data files in that folder

No, you need APN no matter what to have signal and data. Did you try deleting all your APNs and adding your carrier's LTE APN?
Hmm well I dont think Its an apn problem.. the Phone connects to the network. But only for A Couple seconds then goes hours of having no service but will periodically connect again for A few seconds

Okay after weeks of trying to fix this problem your experiencing, I've finally fixed the issue! .. Basically all you have to do is follow the guide here to fix your imei #. (MAKE SURE YOU DO THIS CORRECTLY) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801997 . Anyway, after you do that, call AT&T and then tell them your phone is having trouble with service and its going in and out. They're going to try to resync your phones IMEI number with their towers. After they do that your phone will work like it used to..

urgent issue with flashed s3 on Page plus

Hi everyone I have a flashed samsung galaxy S3 (Sprint Bad ESN) on Page plus.... everything works,, talk, text, 3G data, however my problem is whenever I put the phone in the charger... the phone network signal stops working (I cant get any calls or texts), and it goes back to normal after I unplug it from the charger... does anyone know why this happens..? I heard it may be some kind of bug where when Samsung S3 is connected to old verizon towers it does that.. does anyone know a fix to this? it seems to be similar to this issue http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/104803 Also , the phone is rooted... running 4.1.1 ( I had to downgrade in order to get my MSL)..

Dang. Try turning off the connection optimizer or remove it altogether
I've seen this exact issue before...not trying to slam you, but search and you'll most likely find the thread i saw a while back where the OP was eventually able to fix it. I think it was the connection optimizer though.

And you can remove it altogether by deleting the ConnectionOptimizer.apk from /system/app, then reboot and wipe dalvik cache

If you remove it completely the mobile networks menu will FC, so you'll be stuck on whatever network mode you were on when it was deleted
I like to break stuff!
I had a friend try the deletion and wiping method.. he said it made it a little better, but it didnt solve the problem. Therefore, im thinking the issue is connected with the optomizer.. does anyone know of any other methods to try? thnak u
I have the exact same issue where my cell reception is SEVERELY limited when plugged into the charge. It fluctuates from No-network to 0-bars. When it shows 0-bars sometimes it lets me make calls or send texts, but calls will drop quickly and texts will sometimes fail. But as soon as I remove from charger, it goes back to 3-bars in my house, and works just fine.
I have even tried using usb cables with ferrite cores on both ends thinking it may have been an interference issue, but that didn't do a thing.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
