No, the problem with stock task manager is that it does not show some applications and they continue to run in the background.
Now we need to exactly patch or write a similar application not something incompatible with the quick menu or such.

Just install taskmanager again.

Does it work? Anyone know how to solve problem with fast increasing RAM consuming in WM6.5?

No,It didn't. the task manager that was provided by sakkeus11 was from wm 6.1 which does not show quick menu on today screen. We really need to solve this issue.

Fast increasing RAM consumption in WM6.5
I'm using XDA Ignito which was upgraded to WM 6.5 using the DiamonCustomRUU (tried both Standard and Titanium).
As I use the device the Memory seems to quickly go down. Having recently flashed the device with Standard DiamondCustomRUU, I currently have 18.32 MB free under Storage, and 9.41 MB free under Program.
I've gone into task manager to see if there are any programs left hanging around but task manager doesn't show me anything under the "Running Program List:" or "Exclusive Program List". So how am I supposed to remove / shut any programs down to free-up memory.
This used to be a fairly simple task in the old XDA 2 models under earlier versions of WM.
Can someone please advise????

Task Manager

Hey guys, im wondering what is the best task manager i can use with my xperia or windows mobile 6? I have itje's rom and i notice after a softreset my usage is about 43% and then eventaully within a couple of days without turning it off it rises up to 65% and doesnt go down (I dont have any programs running). So im guessing there are processes that HTC task manager doesnt pick up on.
Thanks
anyone please?

in my opinion, the best task manager is included in WisBar Advance 3. You have to pay for the software. And it's a very slow one too.
if ur using one of the tf3d roms, then this is normal..the reason is allover the rom thread so u might wanna read to find out why
Soft resetting every 2 or 3 days is healthy
Or go to /windows/ and open TaskManager, then kill the unnecessary processes mannually
My favourite Taskmanager is "WKTask". It's freeware and has all functions i've ever wished. It's just like working with "big" windows. Simple by setting some preferences you can easily apply your preferences. I've now been using it for one month and had never any problem concerning bugs, lacks or anything else!

Hey, thanks for the heads up about WKTask - looks sweet - and welcome to XDA!
Is it possible to make the task bar icons bigger (finger friendly) and to move them to the bottom menu bar? Then it would be perfect.

Yes, that's true!
In addition to this, I use FDC Task Manager... really useful, lots of functionalities, and you can run it only when you need it.

Well I don't think so. I would have liked it much more, as you said, a bit more fingerfriendly, but as long as no other program does the job as good as WKTask for me, I won't change it. Do you know any project under construction concerning Taskmanagers? Wisbar and all the others are expensive and lacking. Also I have the feeling, that they can't really deal with the panelmanager...

Mobile Memory

Hi all
I would like to ask if its normal that th mobile increase the memory of the busy program memory and not having any program running. The phone starts with 31% of program memory busy, but ultimately go up to 50% and is increasing.
Thanks for help
yes it's normal. First of all you have the active programs you can close in the taks manager. Second, Touch Flow 3d keeps some programs like opera running without you being able to shut it down. This is done for the push pages for exampel. It's the same for the agenda and media player. For fast acces those are kept in the memmory.

That's correct. HTC caused some programs not to appear in the task manager. If you install a future custom rom without manilla, you probably won't have this problem. Your memmory should never be above the 80% when everything you CAN close is closed.

Which appk killer?

I'm confused which one to install...
advanced task killer
advanced task cleaner
there're so many, please advice. Thanks.
I use advanced Task killer, as do most people I beleive.
it works a treat.
any particular settings i shoud know?
not sure. I just it straight from install and works great. if you go INTO app killer you'll see lots of tick boxes, if you untick anything you don't want to kill it'll remember settings.

Seriously? but doesn't the Android OS burn battery life and keep stuff in memory and take resources?
2.2 is pretty good with memory management. I use Advanced Task Killer, but only for killing apps manually that are floating around. I don't use it for any kind of automatic task killing,

Desire is my 3rd Android phone - I had a G1 and a Hero previously.
I used to use an automatic Task Killer initially when I had my G1, but I actually found it caused more problems than it solved. So, I stopped, and everything started working better.
If you are finding your phone lags, chances are that the issue is an errant app. Whilst "killing" it will relieve the symptoms, the real solution is to dump the app causing the problem.
Android *is* very good at resource management, if left alone to do it's own thing.

Dave

whats the problem? android has its own internal task killer so if ram is needed for running apps its will kill off background apps, there are loads of reasons why apps start auto, did you know google pays developers if there apps collect info about how you use your phone and give it them lol
But I notice they never close and the phone slows down !!!!!

Look for "Startup Cleaner Pro" in the market.
It will enable you to disable a programs from start up.
But some programs start on later on when the device has been used a while automatically anyway.

[Q] Can anyone tell me is this OK or my RAM is vanishing!!!?

I got HTC One V for me and now after 3 days, just 45MB of RAM is FREE. No apps are running / opened.
Also when I touch the 'home' button on the bottom of the screen, it says 'loading' and after about 10 seconds of waiting, the home screen appears. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME?
That's quite unusual. When idling with no apps open, my phone has anything from 50 - 120 mb of RAM free. Could you provide more details that would help us identify the problem (i.e anything you've downloaded/modified recently, screenshots of your task manager page, running any custom launchers, any custom ROMs, rooted/unrooted etc.)

You have also apps that are running on Cache slot. See first screen? Go to that again, press menu on your phone to bring up the menu screen and select Show cached processes. Also, it is a good advice to restart your phone once in awhile. Just to make sure that the cache is rebuilt and the ram is defragmented.
Cheers
