youtube app - Touch HD Themes and Apps

is it me or can you not find music videos on the youtube app? anyone know why this is? you can get them on normal youtube so why not on the app?

Could you be more specific?? I don't have any problem finding a music video... Just try 'official music video' as a search query. I get music-videos-a-plenty!

basically, i can search the name of the song or the name of the song + official or the name of the band etc, and i get nothing like the results u get in a browser, i get very few actual music videos and sometimes none at all. lots of live stuff and interviews but no music vids.

I get the same thing. I can search 1 thing on the internet and then again on the app and get completely different results

Well, I do know YouTube is trying to ban copyrighted material asmuch as possible. Music videos included. So maybe, as one of the measures taken, the searches from mobile devices are filtered...

Would someone be kind enough to tell me how to load videos for album player?

I'm trying to play a .mp4 video using Album Player and can't seem to get it to load. When I try playing the video either Pocket Player comes up (horrible playback as it's very slow) or it winds up in pictures and videos (doesn't play at all).
When I click on the file and go to "open with" the list shows Pocket Player or Pictures and Videos.
I'm sorry but I've ran a search here and on PPC Geeks and I know I saw a thread a couple of days on how to do this. The problem is that there are now too many threads about people mentioning how hard it is to watch video on this device. I'm almost afraid to install 6.5 now because who knows what that will break (sorry for the rant).
Thank you for your help.
Hi, you can try to associate the file in Total Commander with HTCAlbum.exe

MP3 Music Downloads?

I've heard there are apps to download full MP3s, but after searching Google and the market I'm not finding anything... What are these apps and are they legal? Thanks.
Search http://www.appbrain.com/ for "mp3" and you'll find at least a couple. I see mp3 music and Music Blaster. I don't know where they get the mp3's from but i don't see how it could be legit. I don't think there even legal to use. They usually disappear from the market about the time they become popular.
I'd suggest using rhapsody or amazon mp3 instead.

The Desire - poker sites and flash videos

Hi guys, I've been trawling the forum for ages trying to find something for poker players out there. Basically I use Skypoker and since the upgraded flash player I can now actually see the table and play with mobile internet view turned off but it still doesn't respond 100% when I press the screen to click on 'raise, check, fold etc'. Is there any way of getting this to work at all?
Also when viewing videos on sites I can't always use the scroll bar thing to go forward or backward through the video. Is there a media player that would pick up the videos so I could have full control?
I'm not holding out much hope for positive responses here.
Cheers
ED
Appeak poker in the market.
..sent from my mind using drugs...

How is Youtube support?

Is there an app? Or do you have to use the touch Youtube site?
from what i've read, the first time you visit a youtube clip, it will ask you to download an extension, and after this it will play it like would any other video. it's not a seperate application persay, but merely just an extension to IE to allow you to play the youtube clips.
I could be wrong on this, but I have seen videos of youtube playing, so it's definitely there.

I just read on Wikipedia it will run it in a sort of media player app, but they state that Adobe Flash 10.1 is on the way so this could be improved, or hell, there is the possibility updates will bring Youtube apps and better support.
There is built-in support for viewing the videos, but Google will need to develop a separate Youtube app if you want the off-browser experience.

Chances are that Google are already working on an application for YouTube.
App in Marketplace that plays Youtube over 3g is craptastic, horrible quality over 3g. Seriously over 3g the quality is worse than on a Blackberry. WTF MS?
Microsoft doesn't own YouTube, so I dunno why you're asking them.
And the quality is probably poor because it's playing 240 or 360p version of the videos instead of HQ.
That's why Google needs to release a YouTube App.
Microsoft has more important things to worry about, like, the actual operating system.
The youtube experience on WP7 is amazing.. its the first phone i ever used that didn't require a full fledged app. I sort of like it that m.youtube.com works out of the box and there isn't "an app for that" - with that being said, people are free to use the youtube api and make their own apps and google may do just that. However with m.youtube.com the quality for me is amazing. I don't watch it over 3g since AT&T rapes us with 3g bandwidth costs but over wifi the quality is beautiful. M.youtube.com also works with your login id so you can easily play your favorite and surf the website. It isn't a pretty package, but hell, sometimes its better that the web integration works this well rather than waiting for a required app
Apparently the youtube app adjusts the video settings if not on wifi. Which doesn't make sense since my 3g connection can more than handle youtube....
Maybe contact the developer and see if we can get settings adjustments.
edit: nevermind, it lists microsoft as the developer so I guess maybe an update will help?

FRX07/ Android/ or player issue? Playing .mp4/.mkv movies

I have dl/ed Soul Player and Mvideo player to attempt to watch some of my movies, the movies play just fine in WinMo. I notice the movies (those that will load) will just do nothing, they do not give an error that the file can not play but they also do not play at all However the time does countdown on the file as though it is playing the file (like it will say 5 seconds into the movie). If I move the scroll bar the screen will show that particular frame then be stuck on that frame.
am i missing something, there doesn't appear to be a stock movie player with android.
this affects multiple movies btw and the quality is fine in winmo..
There isn't a 'stock' movie player that I know of.
This is expected behavior (if you will). The codecs in Android do not make full use of the hardware for whatever reason - hyc has pushed the libs a little farther than they are capable of currently, but he was never able to match WinMo... We're still missing something on the Android side of things.
HQ YouTube has this same issue - seems videos above a certain resolution do not play nice. I'll have to do some searching to find hyc's posts on this topic, something you should've already done...
I got a large number of hits on it when I searched the issue but nothing providing an explanation similar to what you have stated, I suppose I will just continue viewing videos in winmo then.
Thanks for the assistance!

Found hyc's post after a couple minutes of searching.
Searching and reading isn't easy or simple, I don't pretend that it is. Just an essential part of working with any open source project.

That post basically summarizes the conundrum we have with video playback in Android.
