can't seem to get this upgrade to work. the updater stops at about 28 percent for me with an error (286? i think) and after that i'm stuck in bootloader. Every time after that, the updater wont even start.. (a different error).
i can flash successfully a cooked ROM, but can't get the official one to work. Could it be a conflict with Des' crash-proof SPL? That's the only thing i can think of at this point..
To me said invalid device id, and got stuck on the boot loader
try back to any old offical ROM
and then copy SSPL to PDA and run it on PDA
when bootloader appear, run WM6 offical updater
I got same problem too and get fix
good luck
update: since i managed to flash PDAVIET's rom, i thought i'd just try going back to Olipro's hard-spl and see what happens.. So i flashed it, entered bootloader and ran the WM6 update again, and SUCCESS!!
very strange though.. anyone have some thoughts as to why it wouldn't work under Des', or if this is just coincidence?
It installs a new bootloader that can't be hacked by the previous hacks I think.... I'm stuck in it too...

Hi racerx,
I've encountered the same problem as your, stuck at 28% ERROR [286] while flashing, and couldn't go over it even after recovery process following the instruction.
Could you please explain a bit more details about how to go back to Olipro's hard-spl and enter into bootloader?
Thanks, eager to flash the new ROM...
Well I was able to get out of it by running Pof's CID RUU Unlocker, however, it errors after 7%, and resets. It gets past the bootloader, however, it hardreset the phone...eh.
IT happened to me too - Update Error.
So should i go back to Official WM5 then update to WM6 (i had AX3L installed before and i just had to reflash back to AX3L coz of the error from WM6).
Kinda scared me.....LoL
well, to start with i had Des' Crash-Proof SPL on my phone... so after the updater hung at 28%, i remained in Des' bootloader. I then ran the RUU for pdaviet's ROM, which flashed successfully. After that was on and my trinity was up and running, i flashed Olipro's hard-spl. Then manually put it in bootloader again, and flashed the official ROM.
Let me say this, though. At this point, i think you should be content to get your device out of bootloader mode. This Dopod WM6 doesn't have so much to be desired in it compared to cooked ROM's on this forum, plus your bootloader will be stuck at version 3.xxxx which i don't know if anyone is sure how to deal with yet. I'm regretting flashing mine to official version. Should have waited for a chef to pack it up for me.
what does your bootloader say?
You need to actually have a device that this release is supported by. It flashes a new SPL but you can flash Olipros HARD SPL 1.20 straight over that once WM6 has flashed.
It replaces any HARD SPL before flashing, probably to ensure only official devices get this update. Those having issues are probably out of this.
The official rom is fine, not as finished or customised as some chef ones, but good none the less. Also, the new 3.0??? SPL is no issue at all and easily removed once flashed.
yeah saw your post on the other thread.. thanks for the tip! talk about a stressful morning haha..
i was waiting for this ROM cause my activesync has mysteriously stopped working for a couple of weeks. so i was going to flash and take it to the service center. The miracle of it, was after my device hung and i reflashed pdaviet's rom, my activesync mysteriously works now even though i reflashed a million times before trying to get it going haha..
new spl is needed for flashing new radio rom with cid locked device.
So that's why RUU reflashes SPL at first.
U could simply reflash HArd spl back by using sspl
mUn, when can we expect your much anticipated "Indigo" rom using this offical WM6 base??
Genius! thanks for the tip mun...
all i can say is one word....
INDIGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
I also got Invalid vendor ID when I tried to flash for the first time. But it flashed just fine after I put it into bootloader mode. Give it a try..
Flashed my mine in a breeze from LSVW version 27/05/07.

Hi all,
How to upgrade rom via bootlaoader menu (after pressing the camera and hardreset)? If it's possible could you tell me which ROM i can use to upgrade a HTC advantage x7500/ATHENA-C9 with these info on bootloader menu:
ATHE100
IPL-v1. 00
ATHE100
SPL-v1. 07. 0000
Thanks for help!
Hi marius
I read your other post today and seeing no one else has replied , I will try to help you.
Have you tried a hard reset ?
If you have and had no luck , try to find an original shipped rom consistent with your spl and flash while in bootloader .
Don't try to flash any of the doctored roms, either spl 1.2 or 3.5 as you will not be able.
It is a long time since I have used the unlocker but I think if you read through the later posts , the authors used a wrapper program that requires an initial activesync connection to work.
I will look in here occasionally to see if you get it sorted or you can pm me if you have a question.
regards michael
Hello Lakeman,
if i write you it's because i read your reply below and i'm very happy.
1rst, i tried hard reset but it didn't work.
In fact, here is my story:
My HTC x7500 crashes after startup so i can't use it but when i tried to flash it i received the error 294:Invalid Vendor Id because i used the wrong ROM. where can i get it please?
Many thanks!
I asume you already read the Wiki, if not here it is!:

I´m sure it can help you a lot
Good luck,
hi all,
thank you orb3000, i read the wiki and i found in the ATHENA x7500 manual that it's possible to Upgrade OS through SD Card in bootloader menu but it seems like the download OS image link http://htcscm10.htc.com.tw/SDO is no longer available. Please could someone help me found it?
Thanks a lot!
Hi all,
i tried to upgrade my HTC x7500 via SD card using a .nbh file found in ap3.rar
but it didn't work. After enter in the bootloader, it displays "loading..." and "00068002" and after few seconds it's going back to the colored screen displaying the Rom version 1.07.0000
What does the "0068002" mean? i suppose it's an error code.
Please could somebody help me get a image file version earlier than 1.07.0000?
thnks!

Hi marius
I assume you read
[/QUOTE]
Rename the .NBH file to ATHEIMG.nbh and copy it to your miniSD card. Press camera+com manager+soft reset to bootloader and wait for reading ATHEIMG.nbh from SD. Remember, the miniSD card must be formatted with a FAT32 filesystem before copying the file ATHEIMG.nbh to your miniSD. After finished, do a soft reset.

sometimes sd flashing wont work with an sdhc card
but in any case you have not unlocked the rom yet.
You need spl 1.2 to flash the ap3 rom
I cant remember if you are the guy trying to find a dutch rom but try and find an original rom for your athena and then flash that.
once it is working you can apply the unlocker and then flash any rom
Hi lakeman,
Unfortunately i can't use the spl 1.2 to unlock my HTC X7500 because it crashes just after startup (when displaying desktop) preventing me from using. Is there a possibility to use the spl 1.2 via the miniSD card? I'm not using the sdhc card.
Thanks for help!
hi again
youmust unlock the athena before flashing an spl1.2 rom
you can flash your original rom from the bootloader menu to get a working rom ,
once you have done this you can use the unlocker and then flash any 1.2rom

Marius you need to get the original language rom that came with your athena
I don't know for sure but i think spl 1.07 is the dutch rom which is nowhere to be found at present
i suggest doing a search for this or contacting htc or the original supplier of your phone.
Alternatively post a request in xda but I would do it in the general section to get a wider audience
Hello,
Thanks Lakeman. I tried to get it from HTC Support in vain, as you recomended, i'll post a new thread on xda concerning the spl1.07 (my ROM language is English not dutch).

Have you tried flashing the dopod roms from here

or does your machine have tmobile branding , in which case you could try the tmobile roms

Download an official Shipped ROM meant for your Universal and flash it. It should then pass through the screen.
thanks for the tip, i find the rom, but it need for upgrade active sync installed
and that's the issue now, because active sync does do nothing now when the device is in boatloader mode.
IT UPGRADING NOW pfffffffffffff
after intestalling again active sync...

Read Wiki!
Read Wiki.
Use mtty...DOC format.
Flash original WM5 ROM.
THEN
CID unlock with upgradeutility Noid.
You are free to do almost anything.
Again Read Wiki.
Read hdubli ...thread for stuck in bootloader.
Read Roms from Cotulla thread....it's helpful.
As long as you have intact bootloader , don't panic...it is not dead yet.
thanks for the advise, i find the wiki and solve the problem.
on my old xp pc and installed active sync, the device was direct upgraded
and the orginal rom is back to the latest version.
i find also the 6.5 rom but for now it works
So as you can figure out from the thread title I have a problem flashing my htc diamond.
I have installed a HardSPL version 1.30 OliNex, I can confirm that becouse on the three color screen there is a text saying "1.30 OliNex".
I still have the original ROM that comes with the phone when I bought it, so this meant to be my first flashing.
I want to flash the phone with this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=593678 it is a WM 6.5 based ROM.
Because in the ROM package there wasn't a ROMUpdateUtility.exe I used it from other ROM package.
Connected via ActiveSync and followed the wizard. The phone reset and there came a gray screen with a progress bar. Now both progress bars on the phone and on the PC screen remain 0% and after a wile RUU finished with 262 ERROR Connection error, see the attached picture.
After that I tried to flash it from Internal Storage. A followed the steps according the procedure, and after the three colored screen it came the gray screen with "Loading..." message. I waited for almost 30 minutes and nothing happened.
What seems to be the problem?
I assumed about firewall disabling the connection. But I turned off the firewall and again the same story.
Then somewhere I found that there is incompatibility with the RUU and HardSPL version, but tried to flash with the same RUU that I used when I was installing HardSPL.
Then I tough that the problem is about flashing unsigned ROM on a signed HSPL, but it is not that the ROM is signed.
I am afraid to use MTTY so I don't brick my phone, because this is my first time flashing a Diamond.
I'm confused What seems to be the problem?
Any help can be welcomed.
Could this be indication of a hardware problem? When waiting for the "Loading..." message disappear the back cover warms a little.
Thanks.
1. Did you use the RUU from my thread?
2. NEVER USE AN H-SPL RUU TO FLASH ANYTHING OTHER THAN H-SPL!
3. is this a CMDA phone. IE, what network are you on?
Well no I didn't use the RUU from your thread, I've used a RUU from other ROM package.
This is not a CDMA phone I'm on T-Mobile Macedonia network. And the phone looks like this
On other Macedonian forum they told me it is a hardware problem. Can this be true?
So what do you think about my problem?

EDIT: I did tried the RUU you recommended in your thread but it's the same.
I think it is in the PDA.
Configure active sync, and uncheck "allow usb connection" and try again.
For updating from internal storage you must have to copy the rom to the root of internal storage with a special name, ""diamimg.nbh"
Hmmm..
What he said... and...
Should have used one of the earlier SPLs. you only need to use the latest one if you are having problems with the older versions. I have the same diamond and used an early SPL.
Upgrade the radio rom first and go with a rom that's version 6.1 not 6.5 as most 6.5 roms now pack the Sense application.. (IMO Non-Sense, Senseless (Not enought ram or responsiveness))
Old roms here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=470757
Give olinex some cash for his Diamond Unlocker as this is the surefire way to fix it.

As I understand you, you are saying to install later version of Hard SPL right?
So to install a new version of Hard SPL I just need to do the same procedure as the first time, or I have to uninstall the previous one?
And please help me which version of Hard SPL is safest to install? I'm afraid of the developer versions or maybe they aren't so scary
Are you a 100% positive it is the HardSPL?

Presuming from your post, you are using a signed Olinex SPL, i doubt that the rom has been signed be OliNex, the only difference with Dev is you can flash any Rom, flash the Dev one from my thread, nothing to be afraid of
Good Luck
Badwolve1
What are the steps of installing new SPL?
Do I just need to do the same procedure as the first time, or I have to uninstall the previous one(somehow)?
UPDATE: I did it, I successfully flashed my Diamond PDA! It seams that the problem was in the SPL I installed 1.40 OliNex Unsigned and it flashed like a charm. Thanks guys for the help. Now this thread can be closed, or do I have to close it myself.
Great!
Glad it all worked out
Morning All,
So as you can see in my sig I have upgraded to the HTC Desire .
Now I want to downgrade my Diamond back to stock so that I can sell her however I have run into a huge problem. I found these instructions:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=537496
And followed it completly, I went and got the ROM from HTC's site and when I went to flash the ROM it got to 100% only to tell me that the image file is corrupt please check the RUU Error code 720. I have tried two ROMS the one from HTC: RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE-AFK_2.03.421.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.51.25.26_1.09.25.23_Ship And another one: _RUU_Diamond_HTC_WWE_2.03.405.2_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.51.25.26_1.09.25.23_Ship however I think both are the same... . I downloaded that ROM from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=471699
So the question is how do I downgrade? I have since put back the Custom Memo ROM I was using.
Radio: 1.17
HardSPL: 1.93
I should mention that the phone was bought last year and came with a SPL higher than 1.93 think it was 2.03, I did downgrade to 1.93. Could this be causing the problem? When I did some Googling I found this: http://forums.techarena.in/portable-devices/1163528.htm
Upgrade error number 270 means that the bootloader is not correct for the rom you are trying to flash

So how do I find the ROM with the matching bootloader?
Any help is greatly appreciated .
This is relevant to my interests. Im sitting with nearly the exact same issue...
Ok, so I found a quick easy workaround.
Install your stock ROM till completion. It goves you the error, then download this update.... PM or msn me for the link, theres some block for me posting links
run that (takes about 2 min), phone reboots, stock rom is in use. HardSPL is however still intact. Haven't figured how to remove that yet.
Cheers. Drop me a line on msn sometime R...
