OK, here's the situation. I have a ProClip (Brodit) mount for my Tilt2 with the 3-in-1 connector. My problem is that when I have the Tilt2 in the charger it believes that the headphones are plugged in, therefore all sound is essentially muted.
So my question is, is there a way to shut off the headphone jack so that the sound is sent through the Tilt2 speaker?
Is the hardware in our GSM phones for the 3.5mm jack? So all we would have to do is drill a hole somewhere to access it.
Unfortunately that would be no. We are stuck as is.
Hi, looked and searched and could not find answer,
Is 3.5 headphone jack on Sprint TP2,
Standard headphones only or
Headphones and microphone?
Thanx
I believe it will if it is part of a headset that supports the phone functions. You can't just plug a mic into it. You need a phone-type headset. You can tell by looking at the plug. It should have 4 bands instead of the usual 3 that a headphone only set has.
Headphone jack/mic issues.
I too was trying to find info on the mic functionality while using headphones. I've got the RHOD500 and in WinMo6.5 I was able to plug in headphones and hear calls and the mic worked for them to hear me. This is particularly useful since I'm frquently listening to audiobooks via my phone with headphones.
I found this thread which seems to indicate that this is a known issue...that may or may not be being worked on. Since I'm still too new to the forum, I'm not able to post in that thread yet. I'm hoping they find a way to get it fixed, but I won't be holding my breath.
I am using the headphone jack on my touch pro 2 to listen to my phone calls over the car speakers and internal mic to talk but people on the other end are complaining about an echo of their voice. I figure its coming from thier voice being picked up by the internal mic. Anybody have any ideas? how can i cut the internal mic while they are talking so it wont pick up them talking. would a cheap wired headset work using its external mic? i could cut the headphones off and splice it into the line in.
So now that we've courageously broken free of the burdensome shackles of the 3.5mm jack I guess we got to make the move to bluetooth. Every adapter I see seems to have an inbuilt microphone and none of them make use of the inline mic that many headphones come with does anyone know of any adapter that doesn't need to be dug out of a pocket to reply to a call?
PS: before anyone mentions the Sound Blaster E3 yes it has a mic input but only if you split the jack into separate mic/earphone jacks and only when connected to a pc via USB. I've asked elsewhere and this has come up once or twice.

I am confused. What do you need an adapter for Bluetooth? Can you show an example?

Ah ok that explains a lot. The way I was picturing in my head confused me lol.
I have not seen any of those that have inline mics with a single 3.5mm.

There are good number of bluetooth headsets with mics that you get for the same or less than the price of those. Or if you have a set of wired headsets that you're really attached too, why not just use the USB-C ->3.5mm that will be included in the box?
