This will allow you to type normally while in a call, without the numbers being locked on in other applications. I could not find this anywhere so I did so tinkering and found this key to be the problem. I saw many other people that had the same problem here is the fix. Quite simple.
Just change the following key.
\ HKLM\Software\OEM\PhoneSetting\
“enablekeyboardmaping” to 1

this worked for me. I am running
WM6 5.2.1620 build 18125.0.4.2
ROM 3.61.502.1
the AT&T version
after I changed this it worked right away no reset needed

i dont see this in the reg at all.....
Might have to create it.
It's already built into the ROM im using so I can't check.
before i changed this key it did not work after i changed it it did. so i just changed it back and the numbers didnt come up. i will post the other keyboard cab i found as soon as i can.

i will also try setting to 0 and soft rebooting just to make sure.

Can you re-confirm the key, sans typos (no offence thepcguy85 )
after reboot the keys did not revert back. so now i am puzzled, l also loaded this cab with keyboard mapping. please note this cab is only for the AT&T 8525. but i am not sure if it was this cab or not.
we may be able to pull the setting out of this cab if it is the fix.
The cab is the same old 8525 keyboard mapping fix.
The key referenced in the OP has typos at the very least.
The ROM referenced in post #7 is the latest AT&T ROM, in which the problem has been fixed.

it was not working when i first Flashed the ROM this is however to the best of my knowledge.

Many many people have asked him what he did in his 3.61 rom thread. You may read his full response there, but, in short, he cannot replicate it.
I checked to see if this would work but my OEM/PhoneSettings Doesn't even have registry key as An Option.

If your saying This , Then that means it has more to Do with Just the Build. I thought it Was the Build that The vp3G ROM was using that corrected the Error but if Fun_Key ROM is using the same Build than It's more than Just the Build .I"ll try Combing Over the Registry Keys in the vp3G ROM and then maybe get some Answers. I"m sure it's been done But what else can we do right now....

Right now...load down vp3G's ROM and try and pull out as much of the AT&T as I can!
i dont think funkeys is based on 3.61 cuz i was diggin thru the reg and found 3.60 as a ver not 3.61.....hmm

I made some mix, but most part should come of 3.61. When I first built my rom there were some issue that denied me to use a full 3.61 through pandora.
But this is in fact a good hint which could allow me to troubleshoot the key mapping issue.
Hi guys,
I have downloaded hundreds of apps on the net and many of them (several tens) cannot be installed on my SGS (Froyo 2.2.1)!
I get always the same error message : "A problem occurred during the kit analysis" (translation from french)
And some apps begin to install and finally the message : "Application not installed"
The second case occurs when the application is already installed and it's an update !
Does anyone know these errors and where can I find the log associated ?
The best for me is to know why and if possible, how to resolve them ???

I have some problems with not being able to change the language for text prediction when i use my Hardware Keyboard. I have asked 4 times in the thread for my ROM (located at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1067371 ) Without getting any answer..
i have no problems with my software keyboard at all, i can change between swedish and english language and it works perfectly, but when i try to change to swedish when i use my hardware keyboard i don't have any other language in the list than english..
Can anyone please help me? I have tried several things without any luck.

Hi, I just checked and the issue is there for me as well on a stock DZ (Slovakia). I tried changing the locale of the phone but no difference..
I guess the only thing you can do is to ask HTC..

Keyboard after Root with Gingerbread
A friend of mine root my G2 with Gingerbread. It is working great but I realize that some keys from the keyboard are not working. Example: The letter E send me to the e-mails, P to Music, S doesnt work, L send me to Calendar, C to Contacts, ect. How can I fix this issue?

No i don't think HTC can or will help me with the issue, besides that i made a backup and tried another ROM yesterday and there was no problems at all.. (just to be clear: i went back to the ROM i have the keyboard issues with after that, just because i like the ROM)
i guess it's up to the developer of the ROM to make it work, but when you ask in the thread 4 times without even getting an answer you get tired and start asking others for help
i got keychar files from another rom, does anyoen know how to install them? tried with adding them to an Update.zip but cwm aborted the installation, i guess i need some sort of install script?

From what rom did you grab them from and which files did you grab? I'll see if I can create an update zip for you.

Looks like SHP is not working anymore. I was on xxkk5 firmware. today i got a popup msg SHP is expired.do you want to renew the service? i pressed yes and it tries to open a webpage and display 404 not found error. After that i became unable to send or recieve emails. it says email ceritificate expired. I thought may be url have been changed so i flashed with latest xxla1 fw by nexus. But problem persist. Its sad if it cant be resolved. Do anyone else have this prob?

Same problem. I can't even receive mails on manual sync now!
same here....is samsung cracking the whip???
My social hub premium is still working. Emails, SNS, Messengers are all working (updates are automatically recieved, chats messages sent and received, ...). No changes or stoppage noticed so far.
EDIT:
Today, I am beginning to observe same problem of "...EXpired Certificate... Renew License...Error 404: Page Not found, etc"
It appears now that it's a general problem. Samsung is possibly stopping the service country by country.
I did a full flash right now and it is working fine for me... maybe there is a problem with the firmware version that you are using, currently i am at KL6.

Okay guys socialhub premium still works its just that samsung has changed tge activation server address thats it. You can use our custom rom elite v2.0 in which we have fixed this problem

What's the difference? It's the same URL we used for a long time.
if the url is same then looks like we are in problem. many people says that their shp is working and some people like me are lost. May be samsung is blocking one by one using people IMEI (just my guess though). I have tried older fw again but no luck.
Please check Firmware Version.
It seems some newer Certs are used...
Maybe few Certs are ends in 2012...

Why not try to understand what is missing...
Maybe only 1 cert is to installed and then every Firmware work again...
Check folder Security\CM\Cert
...
But I NOT use SHP. So I can't support search...

NOT extract Firmware files...
Make your hidden folders visible, with QuB for instance and check on handset.

Simple identify why SHP not work.
I have NO solution yet. As I NOT use SHP.
Maybe someone else find solution.

Yeah you used but now to solve this problem you need to use the new server url. There is a difference. With the old one you will not avle to activate socialhub.

Need next to compare. Mine works perfectly.
If yours is not working anymore do next:
1) With Stune, copy this folder: OSP-->Applications-->2482tqy39g-->Data
2) Copy next folder as well: OSP-->Applications-->2482tqy39g-->DataBackup
3) Compress y upload the resulting .zip or .rar
I'll compare with mine.
