I spilled my Diamond last week, was a slight drop, then the g-sensor works partially.
The ball in teeter stuck up and move only right to left, opera don´t rotate, htcalbum open the pic's upsidedown and dont rotate and when i take a pic with the phone camera its saves upsidedoown
Please, someone know about this problem? I think it´s a hardware problem, but, is a hard problem to fix?
I did a hardreset, but don´t worked...
same problem
i have the exactly the same problem too...as it's a hardware issue, i'll be sending the phone to the service center
btw, maybe this is the wrong forum for this kind of problem

Hello All,
Since installing WM6 I have been having some strange screen issues. I suspect it is just coincidence. I have installed various different roms and I am having the same trouble ( currently latest lvsw ), making me think it's probably actually a hardware issue.
The screen behaves as if the top right corner is being pressed. This closes apps in portrait and brings up the start menu in landscape. It doesn't happen all the time, but doesn't stop once it's started.
Has anyone heard of this? Is this the same problem as the alignment issue? I have tried the buisness card fix to no avail. Should I take the phone apart as described in one of the fixes for alignement or do I need to send the phone off?
Yours hopefully...

How old is your phone? Some models had screen alignment issues which could explain your problem. Have a look at this thread and see if your serial no (HTxxx) fits with those with known problems. If it does, read Mrvanx's guide to put your phone ROM/SPL etc back to original status then send it in for warranty.

Mine is a HT648 which doesn't have any known problems with screen alignment. I have moved to canada, so although I am still in contract with vodafone, it is very difficult to send it back for repair. It will be my fifth replacement if I do!!! All previous ones had the screen alignment issue, this one is at least slightly different.
I am tempted to try the dismantling fix described in one of the other threads, but perhaps I should ship it back to the uk for a friend to hand in to vodafone for repair and then have it shipped back over here...
If you open it you void your warranty. If it is the screen alignment issue and you fix it, then you are good. If you open it and it is not the screen alignment issue then you just voided your warranty and cannot get it readily fixed. I had an earlier TYTN and I had the screen alignment problem pretty bad. I opened it and fixed it. It was pretty easy.
I would probably try to install a different ROM and and see if it still happens.
Good luck.
Allan
I've tried lots of Roms, unfortunately that hasn't fixed it. Reflashing back to voda and sending back seems sensible, but I'm not sure I have that much pacience!
i did the business card technique. use a business card around the edges and take out some of the black brittle gasket. make sure you keep it real clean around the edges.
I used a microfiber cloth to get under there with some lens cleaner. I read on another screen alighnment post to put a small piece of business card under the lip of the lower portion of the screen(that probably doesn't make sense but do a search for screen alignment).
when you slide out the keyboard i loosened those screws a quarter turn. someone also made a mortscript for screenalignment that helped as well,

Hi !
I have the same problems with the same ht648. The problem occured step by step. First after upgrading to WM6 everything works fine. But since 25th my device starts problems with the touchsceen so I can tap on it everywhere without response. I think it is a thermical problem, because when I put it into the FRIDGE the touchscreen works again for a while.
Have same problem here i also have a v1605 HT648 and i have had it for a month now. It has worked well till yesterday when it started exhibiting this problem. I haven't done any ROM upgrade or anything.
This is really a pain - i hope i can get it replaced

Guys, I'm noticing i'm having this problem, where by the bottom bar for the windows today screen, is appearing everywhere, especially during volume adjust.
For example, i click volume button, it will bring me to the volume screen right? if i look very very carefully at the bottom, i can see a very opaque image of the bottom bar, even sometimes with the words "calendar" and "contacts" visible! a soft reset immediately solves this, but after a while the problem comes up again.
I've tried the following roms
Aztor
Dutty
Diamond rom
Swift SBL
all with this same issue. Is it a bug, or is it a hardware problem? I tried taking a screenshot and the screenshot does not show the opaque "ghost like" bottom bar with the words calendar and contacts.
I tried switching off Touch Flo 3D, and sometimes after a while, it appears again. It can be best seen when the screen is black (not off, just black) especially when volume adjusting.
Is it just me, hardware problem screen problem, or a rom bug that everyone has?
just to clarify again, despite it being visible to my eyes, SPB screenshot does not show this "ghost like" image, and it looks perfectly fine in the screenshot
I dont see that but I think it can be a sort of 'memory' thing of the lcd-screen.
Same problem here
Hi!
I have the same problem here...
the Ghosting comes after using the phone a lot so I think it might be because the phone heats up.
All the roms I tried have the problem so I think its an hardware issue.
Just keep your screen off for a while (not the phone) and I think it goes away.
Also TF3D has nothing to do with it...The problem happens with or without it on.
If anyone has a soln I'd love to hear it!
great to see that i'm not the only one. was worried sick that it was a hardware problem
Hi Baronic i've nothis more than a month back... see this thread..

also see this thread...

So you or me r not alone..
I used to be worried whether over next few days or weeks whether my screen will get worst, hence i used to keep screen very low brightness (with Spb shell)..
Over last 4-5weeks atleast there is no progress of the screen problem although it still persists..
Not finding a final answer, i've stopped bothering about it and just enjoy my diamond..
U r a senior member so, If u find an answer please dont forget to PM me..
Forgot to mention a tip... Keep brightness lowest and you'll never see it again.. (Although i like my screen to be brightly lit!!)
oh i didnt see those threads. primarily cuz i didnt know wat term to search for lol. if its a memory problem i think it can be fixed. will try and see how it goes, i'll experiment
Here is how it happens :
i slide the keyboard out, write an sms or something , then slide the keyboard back in quickly : it soft resets itself.
It also happen when sliding the keyboard out and in without doing anything else.
This doesnt happens 100% of times of course, but in 2 days, it happened to me twice. And it pretty annoying.
I dont know if its something i have installed or not, but i dont see how it can be related (have tomtom, Batti, skype, Resco File Explorer, CorePlayer)
Am i the only one with this problem?
Thanks in advance if you can help me
Seems like the power cuts off sometimes you slide it. (in other words, it's broken). Return it and ask for another one.
Little chance this is the cause of any software interferrence.
But first try a hard reset... if that doensn't help, than you can consider a RMA
Hi,
I've had exacly the same. It looks like we did get a monday morning device
I've returned it to the shop and got a new one, this one is fine. I would suggest you do the same.
Toolman
hmm, mine is also doing that as well. Hard reset did not fix it. Bought from Techrific in Melbourne. Just negotiating return now.
Although my issue is not really a reboot. The phone just does an ungracefull shutdown. Have to power it back on.
i did a hard reset.
And so far, no unwanted reset... I am crossing my fingers.
FYI : unlike my first time, i didnt install Tomtom 7... i dont know if its related or not. So i just wanted to know if those experiencing those unwanted reset also had Tomtom 7 installed ?
May not be the same issue, but be aware of this problem with TomTom7 on the TP2...

yes i found out this problem with the BT files... I had this problem too.
So i didnt install it yet since my hard reset, so i will wait a little bit before testing it out .
But so far, no more problems with my TP2, i dont regret upgrading from my Kaiser
I've not had this issue up until yesterday, the phone would joy auto rotate, and games such as temple run weren't playable due to the accelerometer not registering anything at all, I reset the phone and it worked fine.
now, the issue has come back, but Won't go, I've reset the phone, Booted in safe mode, performed a factory reset, everything. (the only difference factory reset made was that when I try to calibrate the G sensor it says 'calibration complete' instead of calibration aborted.)
However, still the bubbles do not move.
I've looked on the sensor debug app, it shows no data.
Now, what's strange is on the camera I have taken two identically pictures.
One I took in portrait, the other I took in landscape.
I went to gallery and the picture I took in portrait appears as a landscape picture, and the one I took in landscape appears as a portrait picture :s
Well, that shows the accelerometer is working right? (Even though it's backwards)
I'm really confused, I don't want to have to return my phone but if it's a hardware fault I have no choice.
By the way, I'm completely stock.
-bump-
When I calibrate the phone while moving it around, the calibration aborts.
But when I calibrate it as you should. on a flat surface it says calibration completed.
so therefore, the Accelerometer must be working in there.
Which makes me wonder if it's a hardware fault or an issue with the kernel or Rom? (Stock)
...
Mine had a similar problem in that it stopped auto rotating in anything, turned out to be a hardware fault as like you I tried every software test. Your best bit would to either do a factory resit on the phone (unless already done so) and it that does not fix it have you tired the htc function tester?
If yes to both it may be the case that you have to send it for repair.
My auto rotate was a hardware fault and they had to replace the main board and a lot of other silly components I have to clue as to what they are.
I hope this helps.
Same problem here. This issue actually concerns a lot of people.
No fix for the moment, check this thread for more info:

I have problems with the accelerometer, because it´s not registering my steps, and even it doesn´t turn on, with my hand movement, the last time I saw it working properly, was before I install an app called "snap clap", I want to know if someone is having a similar issue.
Hi, as a developer of snap Clap wear app I can assure you, no sensors access in there. There is only bluetooth connection used
Snap clap is a very good app!! congratulations, I am using it without problems, but maybe I clapped too much! lol!!, Im sure is a hardware problem, now I´m getting steps counting without issue, but I can´t see the time with my hand movement. Probably the last update modify those values, and with my case there is an issue with that sensor, hope the Wear 2.0 solve that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmIAkTVaIC4
