Hi all ,
Is there anyway to customise the ROM ? The BuildOS program seems only allow us to modify some preset programs , so is there anyway to preinstall some other programs into the system ?
Just like Black Majik ROM (one of my favourite ROM) , it is possible to install some other apps into the system and no need to reinstall the program , so I wonder if it is possible for us to build our own custom ROM sets .
Please , if my question is too simple or being written on somewhere else in this forum , please kindly gimme a keyword for search or a link , thank you .

But I wonder if this kitchen allow me to preinstall the program into the ROM ? As I remeber , the BuildOS.exe will start an application with a green arrow icon (to make the index for the options) . However , the option is not enough to choose with . For example , if I select the game it will install both bubble breaker and solitare . Will it possible to have more option to choose with ?
Also , is it possible to preinstall other programs into it ? Say , I would like to add an VNC application , HTC Home plugin , etc to the ROM , so no need to reinstall these programs after hardreset .
Again , thanks very much for your information , but would you please explain a little more ? (or do I overlooked something ?)

I was wondering if HTC going to change all to TouchFLo ROM even for non-Touch series....
IAW our resident experts, there is no way to include Touchflo (finger scrolling) via Cab files, only possible by a cooked ROM.
But if you want finger scrolling i have tried SPB plus 4 (commercial package not freeware, only enables finger in certain aplications) and Ftouchflo (look at Dev and Hacking subforum here at XDA DEV).

I´m very happy with ftouchflo. In order not launching it at every soft reset, i have included a lnk to it at start up folder, so it loads by itself.

copy downloaded file to any folder in your device.
In file explorer, tap on downloaded ftouchflo.cab file: that installs ftouchflo.
in order to start it, go to programs, and tap on the just created ftouchflo icon: now you have fingerscroll functionality.
yo i just got a sprint ppc6800 mogul and was tryin to find out how to install touchflo.i went to the site on my phone and did wat it says and my phone still looks the same can someone help me out here plzz...?

Who would be willing to help me cooking my own ROM with some programs that I particularly like, such as CoreMedia Player, HTC Home, Resco Explorer, SMS Bubbles and some other. First, I own a P3700 with 2.03.479.2 WWE ROM. My question is: is it possible to customize this official ROM, I mean I want to remove unnecesary applications for me (like Youtube, Opera, Rss Hub). I want a simple ROM, without those annoying apps. I don't want to make major modifications, only to tune the ROM a lil' bit . Best regards from Romania !

you can just delete the shortcuts and pretend they were not there
kidding aside, original roms are already fast and stable even with those apps. not sure if possible although another option, there are chefs that have 6.1 basic with less apps.

BEFORE YOU FLASH, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE HSPL INSTALLED ON YOUR DEVICE. ELSE YOU WIL NOT BE ABLE TO FLASH CUSTOM MADE ROMS LIKE THIS ONE. SEARCH HOW TO INSTALL HSPL

-Opera
-RSSHub
-YouTube
-SampleMusic (No Need)

-NONE
Side Effect
-Since Opera has been removed, you can no longer use the Touch FLO 3D Internet Tab to open Opera. Even if you press the globe, nothing will happen.

I just downloaded the rom file you have mentioned above (2.03.479.2) via official site. Extracted it using Ervius Kitchen. Removed the said apps and rebuilt the ROM file again.
Try this out and let me know if you need anything else removed / added. (Btw do give me sometime as well, as i m cramming for my exams)

This is exactly what ive been doing over the last couple of days. Its taken a little while because ive had to learn to cook from scratch.
I have settled with ervius kitchen. It would make for a long post to explain it all but the most helpful post in getting me started was this one.....

I alterred the datacache, pagepool and the
I use the newest ervius kithchen. I extracted the .nbh from the installer of the offical HTC 1.93 ROM using winrar (simple right click and extract to.... will present the .nbh)
I just put the .nbh in the root of the ervius directory.
Dump nbh/nb/payload
Then in ervius I used the tools to change the datacache to 4mb (from 2mb) and the pagepool to 12mb.
I excluded (as far as I can remember!)
autoupdate, onenote, office, welcome center, microsoft live, then a host of apps including youtube, voice recorder etc etc.
Make sure you disable the checkbox that tells the kitchen you have a win mob 6.5 native kernel and then click build!
Once its has finished the new .nbh will be in the ReleasedDiamond folder.
On the rom I had Opera was the default browser and is installed as a cab when you first boot your phone. If the cab isn't there the boot sequence stalls and the phone wont work. There is a file some where called ConfigAP (I think its called that! I typing from memory!) which has two lines.... the first being opera 9.7 blah blah .cab.Just delete that line. I think its in the OEM folder. I just did a windows search for it.
My intentions were to installed sense 2.1 on a stripped down official ht rom. Sense has been a bit buggy for me so at the moment im using a rom that doesnt have sense or manila and it is lightening fast!!!

I did spend two days solid learning about cooking and would love to do a laymans guide but I feel I dont know enough yet. It would be good to consolidate the hundreds of useful posts! Im glad I spent the time and learned though!

its sluggish, buggy and takes a lot of RAM which cud be used for more useful programs
