ActiveSync Not Allowing My Calender To Sync??

I have an MDAIII with blackberry instant email, i am not using BES.
ActiveSync will not allow me to tick the Calender box to sync with my PPC?
I can get it to allow me to tick it by going in to sync with server, then removing this option but as soon as it syncs (USB) the option is removed and it will not allow me to sync my calender from Outlook?
I have tried AS 4 to no avail, i am using Outlook 2003 and this works fine with my MS Smartphone, what can i check or alter on the PPC?
I have also tried re-installing the latest TM ROM but to no avail, ditto deleting the partnerships in ActiveSync!
Any pointers would be GREATLY appreciated!!

email problems

i just got an s621 and i added my gmail account to outlook but for some reason i can't see any of my emails..it connects to the server fine and it sends/receives with no problems but i cant see any of my mail it just stays blank!
i can see my hotmail messages just fine...
running wm6 btw
you have to activate pop in gmail. and there is a setting, that you only see mails from now on.
i would also take imap to connect to google because google is not sticking to the pop3 standard.

GroupWise Mobile Sync

(using MightyROM) - I am having some problems (had same problems with stock rom, so it is not the rom) with Manilla not recognizing GroupWise Mobile Sync as an "Account". I can setup my gmail (home), and Intellisync syncs with GroupWise to "Outlook". All messages, contacts, etc sync, I just cannot switch accounts with Manilla.....(it just shows home as the only account - if I open out of manilla, by clicking "All Messages" I can switch between accounts. I just cannot switch with manilla).
Any ideas?

[Q]Syncing contact and calendar with Outlook from work?

I'd like to sync my HTC desire's calendar and contact with Outlook from work. The issue is that at work I do not have priviledged rights to my PC, so I can't install any program and our IT helpdesk does not want to install for me an Outlook add-on that would sync with google calendar/contact.
The only thing I can do though, is to run programs on my work PC that don't require installation (ie portable apps only).
So far, what I have been able to do was to run portable thunderbird on a UBS key, collect my Outlook contact with portable thunderbird. Then transfer these thunderbird contact to thunderbird installed on my home PC and with the gContactSync addon, the thunderbird contacts extracted from thunderbird are eventually synced to my google contact(and then obviously to my phone). This is however a tedious process that I can't do on a daily basis. And it's only a one way process from home to google/phone, not the reverse. I'm wondering whether I could do this in a more convenient and more automated way (including possibly the calendar)?
Also I know the Desire can be synced with Exchange servers, but I doubt it would be feasible in my case: To start with, I don't know how I would be able to do that, and in particular how I would be able to collect the exchange server info required for the setup without the help of the IT services (they won't be particularly helpful because it is not for pro usage).
Any advice would be nice

Well, you can always try a way that worked with iPhone and any other device with MS Activesync.
If you have a VPN account to your company, try to connect with a VPN client to your desire and then you can setup an activesync account to your phone.
Try it using the actual ip address of your exchange server.
It worked for me in the past.

And of course your windows account.

In Account, add a new account, enter your name, email address, password, configure the incoming/outgoing servers.

Click to collapse
this will sync with an exchange server. if the defy has no network access to the server (e.g. corporate network not allowing this), you need the defy to sync with outlook by talking directli with the pc (usb or bluetooth). this cannot be done without 3rd party app. hence my post about syncdroid
I'm using MyPhoneExplorer through usb. Syncs with stock calendar and works well.
corghan has an informative link: http://www.syncdroid.net/
