Hi everyone,
is it possible to put shortcuts on HW Keyboard on BA? For example, I'd like to open a new SMS without using the stylus...
Thank You in advance. Bye

Get SPB Pocket Plus. That'll do the trick
Am I missing something here?
Your Blue Angel has a little silver Messaging button, it's the second one from the left under the screen. I press that then use the dpad...
With the silver button you can open the program, but you do not automatically open a new message (unless you change the button's settings)
With Spb I managed to put an icon on the today screen to open a new SMS. Now I can access the icon with the arrows without using the stylus (thank you!).
But I meant something slightly different. I'd like to put shortcuts directly on the BA's keyboard: to set combinations of keys that give access to specific programs or files... Even with Spb I didn't manage to do it.
Thank You for your help. Bye

how did you manage to add a shortcut to your new messages on the today screen using spb?
In Spb settings I went to the today plug-in options -> objects -> add -> file (I hope the translation is correct since I refer to the italian version...).
Then I added the file \windows\start menu\programs\spb pocket plus actions\[new message].ink

You can also add this shortcut to harware buttons through SPB.
Go to SPB options\buttons and add the shortcuts you need.
Then go to start\settings\buttons to assign these shortcuts to hardware buttons

Thank you again, helterskelter!
But my problem's that I'm not able to assign shortcuts to the BA's keyboard buttons. I can only choose (I think) among the 9 HW buttons. Bye. fabbor75
I'm looking for the code, dll, or application location that locks the keypad on wm phones. I'm looking to map one of my keys to lock the keypad whenever pressed. I thought the lock functionality on wm phones was an application but tons of searching turned nothing up.
Specifically, I have a t-mobile dash (htc s620) and want to map my t-zones key to lock my phone by editing the \Windows\short_IE.lnk file which controls the key's mapping
lock app
im looking for that too did you find it?
the closest i got was this:

Hey, you can use the star key and it will lock your phone. Also holding the end call key will lock your phone. Additionally if you want to download the new 3volution ROM by Ookba on the Dash/Excalibur forum it comes with a built in keylock that locks the keypad after 10 seconds of inactivity. If you come post over in the Dash forum I'll hunt you down an app to solve whatever problem you have.
I figured out how to do this:
1) Find the DeviceLock.exe in windows/
2) Tap and hold on the EXE file, and select Copy from the context menu that popped up.
3) Navigate to Windows\Start Menu and you will see your current start menu programs in that folder. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the list and tap and hold in white space (a blank part of the screen below all other programs), then choose Paste Shortcut. This will place a shortcut in your start menu. You can then rename the shortcut to whatever you choose.
Then you can go an modify the button mappings in settings and select the new shortcut you created in the start menu and you're done.

In WM6.0 Pro I didn't had the DeviceLock.exe on windows folder. so I had to use the cab above.
Still I don't get it why in a Samsung Omnia with WM6.1 you can lock the keyboard by pressing for 2 seconds the end call button and on HTC P3600 with WM6.0 the end call button doesn't do that.
Hiho,
the more programms you install on your TP2, the longer the startmenu will be. Rolling throug this can be a realy long way. So I wanted to create some folders to minimize the menue and make it easyer to work with, but I didn't succeed. Isn't it possible to create folders in the startmenu of TF3D?
Regards
Balu
I hated the All Programs in one list.
As you already mentioned, it is a pain when the list starts growing, and you want to start something in the middle or near the end of the list.
So I was eager to get the old "All programs" back, in columns and rows.
I found a .cab file in this thread, and that works for me!

Use the default Windows Mobile's Start Menu! Press and hold the Call button over TF3D, after the Start Menu will popup. You can create folders to the "\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\" dir.
@ronh: Great thing - I even like that one. Thx a lot!

Could you explain this further? Is it something that should work without any tweaking?
if you assign to long press call button the start menu, it will open the original windows start menu, not the manila one...
Brilliant, thanks. I'd never looked in the buttons settings because of the lack of hardware buttons! It's a shame we can't assign the speakerphone mute to something when outside of that mode.
Is it possible to assign to xpanel button switching between programs? i don't use this button and this option would be great for it i think.
p.s
don't redirect me to thread where is written how to assign exe to xpanel button
Hah found how to do it I will write tutorial maybe someone need it.
1. We need software called AltTab.exe
Download and put in Windows directory
2. Take any registry editor and go to ( thanks to jackleung )
HKLM\Software\SonyEricsson\PanelManager\ApplicationName
and Change it to \..\Windows\AltTab.exe
3. Nothing more now xpanel button switches between running programs
amazing.
Will test this now.

yes, you have to reset your system, but NOT the "hard" way...
go to \windows\startup and delete the panelmanager.lnk in there. do a softreset. now change the reg-key like mentioned above. do NOT press the x-panel-key!!! (you can use any program-file, i use it for starting comm-manager)
one more softreset and you're done.
the reason for this is:
if you press the panel-key the first time after flashing a rom, a .lnk get's put into the startup-folder, starting panelmanager with every boot and overwriting any changes to the reg-key you may have made. (kinda like autostart on your pc)
Inspired!
Not only got rid of the panel manager, but can also cycle through open apps.
However... it seems to cycle through just 2 apps. If 3 or more applications are open, it will just cycle through the last 2.
I followed the instructions as above - maybe there is another tweak?
Try installing TaskFacade and assigning the X-button to it. Really nice program, all cred goes to GPS-lover.

Use the fist state on the camera button instead. That isn't used for anything anyway. Assign alttab.exe with AE Button Plus. I use it with double tap on the button so I don't press it by mistake. When entering the xperia camera it works as usual. So you don't need to worry about that.

If you press Xpanel button fast it will switch between other apps.
I loved TaskFacade
If you want to assign TaskFacade to Xpanel - you just write \TaskFacade\TaskFacade.exe
fantastic, thanks a lot to vladimired and caliban2! Now I can finally switch between programs (and also turn to the today screen) with the X-Panel button and close programs quickly with the OK button.
For this I do not use TaskFascade. I prefer the app switcher from Spb Pocket Plus. If you use this program, just copy the AltTab.exe in the folder ...\programs\PocketPlus into the windows folder like mentioned above. The rest is similar.
Im kinda lost, can you post clearer instructions on how to do this with the tab.exe and taskfacacde, thanx
Here is video how everything works with TaskFacade
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw1dIW-YBLA
i will write more detailed manual lately today, if my work will not swallow me
TaskFacade its the best aplication i have in my x1a thanx
TaskFacade is a very nice app, but it does take some time for the images of the open applications to appear.
I'm after speed... compared to TaskFacade, it's faster to go to the Manila home page and click on the "OK" button area, and then switch as necessary.
That was the benefit of AltTab... but it'll only cycle through 2 open applications
I've installed Ae Buttons but i don't figure what button from the menu is the X Panel button? Any ideea?
I want the x panel button to open the panel manager when pressed short, and another program when pressed long.
Cheers!
Edit: I found this: Press File->Add button and press the button. The X-Panel button code: #00EA. Now i try to make it work on long press
Later Edit: Done. If you select from the drop down menu and chose "4.Long press" you can choose an action. I thought that if i select "4.Long press" , the "1.Single press" will become inactive, but i was wrong. Now my Xperia is Perfect
Hi all,
i'd like to inform You about small application that could be useful with changing mapped x-panel button:
RWA - Run With Argument - 1.0
small application that allows to run any other *.exe file with arguments...for some reasons it can be useful especially when working on HTC devices...
so we bind XPanel to RWA, and in RWA for ex. tmail.exe with SMS argument... to we get SMS Inbox under XPanel Button
and that's all... maybe somebody could find it as an useful application ...
XDA Thread Link
thank you!!
thanks to vladimired for this trick, very usefull
i set XPanel Button with TaskFacade (that looks like a Panel Manager ) and it works fine
Hi all!
I use the WM6.5 ROM V64 (Core 23053) w/ LEO-MANILA/FOOTPRINT (thanks to PDAVIET).
I would like to remove the awful WM volume controler and replace it by the HTC volume controler. I do not want to use SetVolume application.
I remark that HTCVOLUME key does not exist (reg, HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BOOtLauncher\Servic e). I creat the Key HTCVOLUME and creat module ="\Windows\HTCVolumeControl.dll"
When I make a soft reset, again the awfull windows is present.
What is the dll file is launching when the Awfull window is running???
No idea???
Thanks!
Can someon post a copy of the HTCVolume key service from HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HTC\BOOtLauncher\Service or other?
I try to copy the same reg to my HD...
Regards!
here a picture of the awfull windows pop-up:
I second that!
I have been trying the same stuff...but to no avail
Seems to be an issue with WINMO BUILD 23053.
I finally gave up.
But I did find that if i use S2U2 ver 2.04 and use the VOLUME CONTROL in that app...it will override the horrible winmo volume control
so maybe the answer is there somewhere???
I do graphics though, not so good with registry...
Why search for registry settings to turn of the ugly Windows pop-up volume control when you can install the HTC Volume Control?
I believe there is one in Miri's Cab Repository : http://blog.celogeek.com/mobile/mobile-blackstone/mirror-for-miris-rom/
Don't know if that works, but I do know that it looks and acts way better!
ok Duncank, lets me try it and give a feed-back in minute! Well, but do you know which reg key control Windows' pop-up???
No Duncank, it not changes the awfull windows pop-up??? The only things it changed it the volume icon in taskbar, the customised one is now replaced by the Windows standard...
no go
Yeah I tried that cab as well....doesnt help...
I asked Agent47 makes the Valkyrie ROMS for our xperias....he said he hasnt found a way in the newer builds...23047 and up
Its gonna have to be a reg setting...

Okay too bad, it worked in older windows 6.5 builds.
I don't know the keys for the windows volume pop-up, and I searched the registry for "volume" and the two most likely keys are "HKLM\Control Panel\Volume" and "HKLM\Software\HTC\Volumeoverlay"
But what exactly do you want to do with the registry-keys? Do you want to disable the standard windows volume pop-up? Because than you have nothing to change the volume with...
I think you have to search for something to replace the volumecontrols by. Most likely this will disable the standard pop-up too.
With the key (if exist), I would like to disable the pop-up... I make some changes in volumeoverlay, but result is the same.
I replace also the HTCVolumeControl.dll, same result also.
I am loooking for the dll file which are pointed for Windows control volume application and launching the pop-up windows.
I try the other key and give my feeedback as soon as posible.
LikeM8
HKLM\Control Panel\Volume points to Group reg with "4294967295" value, what it is mean????
I don't know
Instead of using the vol. control hard buttons, tap top left corner (where start button of taskbar used to be). You will note a pop-up menu. then tape in the middle soft button (square wm logo). Then you will see the 2 large Volume control bars
Also you can change its colors with HD Colored Volume cabs

At my phone that is the same ugly windows pop-up screen as LikeM8 is trying to remove...
can someone said which dll is running whanr the colume controller is launching?
can someone know which dll file or exe is used to lunch windows volume controler pop?
Any updates?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395695
this is what you all are looking for
you folks have just got to do with this cuz this is a known problem with the newer ms build... they havent implemented HTC volume control
yes, the application it's very useful.but the working volume in a call, depends by the rom. i'm using 23081 and working fine
tbh would still like to use the HTC one that is inbuilt. It is peculiar that hw buttons give the WM version, but the softkey (WM curtain button) gives the HTC one
any ideas?
