Mobile XDA site? - About xda-developers.com

Will there ever be a true mobile site (not index)?
Check out PPCGeeks mobile site...
wap.ppcgeeks.com

Don't we have this ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/
or am i wrong

Yeah it would be interesting if the all HTC phone dev site had a real mobile end to it .

The indexed site is not a true mobile site. It's too narrow. This site is devoted to mobiles. I've always wondered also why there's not a mobile site.

yeh, I agree and a real mobile site would be very cool to use for my many hours on xda via ppc!

WP7 XDA app?

Will there be a WP7 XDA app?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I heard its in the works
I hope so
The Android version of the XDA App is pretty good and so the WP7 version will probably be even better.
XDA app.
I too would love a xda app to call my own. Make it so xda. If you could follow Metro UI that would be better.
Yeah the Android app is okay, hopefully they make one that works and is stable

The WP7 version of the Tapatalk app is being developed here and should be on the marketplace soon
To provide a branded XDA version for free to the community, the cost is €999
Wonder if XDA management are considering this?
Bumping this app from the grave..
*After searching for this thread before posting my own*
Is there really anything regarding an app for XDA?
I feel like i cant do anything without that xda app on my phone and thats probably the only +1 android has over WP7 right now..
A lot of people seem to be using Board Express from Wp7 if I'm not mistaken, don't know what's happening in regards to a dedicated XDA app though
Metro based xda App would rule al

I don't really mind using internet explorer... All I did was pin a shortcut of the page (zoomed into the logo ) on my home screen.
any news on a xda wp7 app?
Just buy Board Express, IMO.
I'll prolly get it in a couple weeks after all these extra charges from getting and returning phones fall off my damn bill.

Yeah Board Express Pro will definetely do it! But it's a bit laggy though!

Think that's an understatement... Taking 3 seconds just for the "Loading Forum" label to appear after I click the forum is ridiculous... With that being said, it's made a lot of improvements lately, and I've become a fan of it after despising it... I only see it getting better too, the developers seem very dedicated to a quality product.

No need to spend for it. It also has a free version. That's the one I use. Works perfectly fine for my minimal usage needs.

That's true, but it's too limited. If the free version allowed you to use all features with ONE forum, that would make sense, but I guess that would cut into their $999 fees for customization, right? I think that fee is a bit excessive considering TapaTalk is letting them use their forum plug-in to get the app to work (then again, maybe they're paying TapaTalk?).
The XDA App for Android is full featured, just limited to XDA-Developers' forum.

yeah no thanx, it has something like a 60 character limit when posting messages? and you can't reply to PM at all (if i remmeber correctly). no thanx
Microsoft's servers are handling Notifications from everywhere else, so I don't see how that would be an issue. I think just the Messenger by Miyowa probably puts more hurt to their servers than this app would due to how many notifications every user gets.
If they need better servers for notifications, buy it with the cash you make from the app.
And hire a dev to fix these performance issues...

XDA Developers app is on the Marketplace!

Don't just sit there, go download it!
I am from Czech Republic and I can't buy it =(

Mobile site works well and costs 99 cents less...
Excellent! Board Express has been flakey, so I really hope this is better.
Will download is soon as my NODO update is finished applying!!!
Edit: I have no problem giving $.99 of my money to XDA - it's because of this site that I am installing NODO on my HD7 right now.

As a senior member you probably already got a lot from being on xda, 99 cents is not much to show your support. And the app works!
I dont mind donating to XDA directly but it sort of feels like a kick in the groin when users of some "favored" OSes don't have to pay to use a service but we do. There are already some mods showing favoritism on the forums. If I post a topic regarding Windows Phone 7 in the overall general section then it gets moved even though 99 percent of the topics there are directly related to android. Just sucks that everyone likes ****ting on WP7.
I'm glad this is out. 99c isn't bad. The mobile site works good, but I like the clean interface of this app. My first post using it! Yay!

Good job! Very well designed and featured packed. I am surprised how much functionality it has, yet it is simple to understand and easy to use. WP7 Metro UI rocks!

Actually, it's based on Board Express. I found Board Express to have some issues. This seems to be working very smoothly.

Shh, you might get banned for speaking out! I sure did on one of my soccer forums when I complained about certain "super mods" taking sides and handing out warnings only to our side. Pathetic how "mods" can do as they please...
they worked, they get paid. its only 99cents, and its only till late april, after that i think it will be free, its on the xda home page article
great, i cant get it because my credit card is not from USA

Gonna stick with Board Express 'till this becomes free.
Not that it matters anyway. This is identical to Board Express. Just only limited to XDA.
I really like the app. Very clean.

There are news that Microsoft has released it for android but I can't find it in play store.

I got it but it's useless. It is requesting paid subscription and I'm not going to do it as long as we have free apps for same thing.

For those not in the USA who can't wait, the APK is available from:
http://androidappsandgameshacking.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/microsoft-office-mobile-is-official.html
Works fine in the UK, at least, but yes you still need an Office 365 subscription (i have one).

I just used my hotmail account to register may not work for others as its possible you also need a MSDN account linked to your hotmail/live, its fully functional. Unfortunately MS has come a bit late in the game and there are far better and more mature office suites for Android so uninstalling for now

Stage Fright Patched Note still vulnerable?

Lookout says it's good. Couldn't find the Lookout app through Play Store but a Google search did it.

The AVG app said it was vulnerable if mms was set to auto-retrieve
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using XDA Free mobile app
The Lookout app says mine is vulnerable, but from what I understand, most Androids are, so the app really told me nothing.
But at the last item on the list, it says to download Lookout, leading me to believe that the app is nothing more than a downloaded advertisement.
Lookout is probably the most reputable mobile antivirus out there. I'd be astounded if they pulled a stunt like that.

I don't think they're that reputable when most people disable the pre-installed version when they get their phone.
Most people don't disable anything. Hardcore phone jockeys like here on XDA do, but that's because we disable EVERYTHING that's pre-installed and unessential in the usually vain hopes of boosting performance. And if they weren't reputable, I doubt Samsung would deliberately partner them with KNOX.

That's funny because I don't know anyone, here in the real world, that keeps it. And a vast majority of them don't even know what XDA is.
And just because they are teaming up with Sammy doesn't mean anything other than they are paying more than the others were offering.

I emailed the zimperium to ask about the discrepancy. I know some people are reporting passing their test. My friends nexus 5 passed today after update. Why are some still failing? Hopefully we hear more over the next few days.

I bet they would respond to twitter posts regarding this discrepancy. Wonder if anyone here wants to hit them up. I would but don't have an account or know much about it other than companies usually don't ignore social network postings.

LOL I dropped my Twitter after it was hacked by some Muslims. They were posting stuff in my name to it. So I deleted it and never went back. Over never had my Facebook hacked, they attempted to hack my Google account but failed. I decided since it took less than three months to hack Twitter, their security must be $#!+. Oh well. Barely used it anyhow.
