I use Windows Live to sync my Hotmail-emails with outlook mobile. But in newer Roms (duttys 2.X) i have no sound notification if a new email arrived. in my standard o2 germany rom there was a notification.
maybe i have only in standby mode no notification but this sucks really.
maybe someone can help me please. thank you!
Hmm, in the standard ROM this is changeable. If you go to Start -> Settings -> SOunds and Notifications, then click the notifications tab on the bottom, it should have an 'Events' scroll down menu. Select 'Messaging: New Email Message' and change the sound by changing 'Ring Tone'? I think that should work, havent tried Duttys ROM though XD

I'm running into the same thing. I recently upgraded to HTC's latest Rom for the Touch HD 1.56 and now I'm not getting the email notification. I have it in settings to notify as usual but I get nothing.

no that doesnt work. =( the sound i select does not appear if a email arrives.

Settings - personal - Sounds & Dotifications.
On the notifications tab, find Messaging - New Text Message and untick Display message on screen

to disable it but when I get to the Inbox section there is no Settings folder? All I have is SendDriver or Svc folders???

You have to add the Settings key, and the SMSNoSentMsg DWORD.

I just picked up my MDA Vario V and noticed that some things seem to be missing compared to the normal TP2
-TF3D2 style notification bubbles
-New notification manager
-Facebook upload feature
-Option to disable the icon screen you get when clicking on the taskbar.
Is there a way to fix this through cabs, or do I need to wait for HardSPL to come out and flash a new rom?

main reason why i stay clear of t-mobile branded stuff! they just can't help themselves can they? also phone will be locked to their network i bet! t-mobile is a good network but the murder these phones. sorry to see some stuff is missing but there may be hope for you in the blackstone forum! just have a look in there
Thanks for the tip. I now have the new notification screen and bubbles working. Only thing left is the Facebook integration.

This should get facebook working...
Do the following 3 reg edits...
HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila\
1. Facebook.Disable (Set the DWORD to 0)
2. Manila://people\browserlayer\peopleupdate.page.hidden (Set the DWORD to 0)
3. Manila://PeopleDetail\peopleView.page.hidden (Set the DWORD to 0)
Then do a soft reset of the device and it should work
Thanks for your help. But it does not work On the one hand now you can go on "Me" (contact card) and can see the facebook button at the bottom (it wasn't there before changing the registry settings). But by trying to start the "app" nothing happens. it's like a block..

What is it you're trying to start? When you are in "People", can you not go to "Updates" and link to a facebook profile?

I think so. I've got the german device, so I don't really know how the tabs are named on the english one. But I think I know what you mean. So I think normally you should have some kind of an "action" button for each contact where you can see the facebook status, etc.? I haven't got this tab. My tabs for each contact are: Details (with all numbers and adresses,etc); sms messaging, e-mail and phone history

I got the MDA Vario 5 as well. To my delight, it wasnt sim-locked.
So far, not much missing or added to the phones ROM by TMobile.
They have some Web n Walk stuff added as an 'Internet' tab and like the other guy mentioned, some notification stuff is missing.

Hi boys,
i don't have TP2, just TP1, but I am solving this problem too...i have a ported version of TF3D2 without facebook integration, but I was able to get it working.
I've attached all files that I needed for FB integration. Some files are hidden..
Copy only those manila files that are not included in your ROM.
Maybe the only needed file will be FacebookSDK.dll
copy all needed to \Windows\ folder...
hope I helped a bit
PS: you also have to make registry edit mentioned before.

No, I do not have this screen But after copying some files (incl. the FacebookSDK.dll) out of the fb.zip I got the following:
My own contact-card (screen2)
Contact-Card of a contact in "view-mode" (screen1) --> "Events-Tab" is missing
Contact-Card of a contact in "edit-mode" (screen3)
If I want to link a contact with a foto, I get screen4 --> After choosing "Facebook-Profil" I get the list with all my facebook contacts (screen5)
Edit: Sorry, the attached thumbnails aren't in the right order. So: "Screen2" is the first one, "Screen1" is the last, "Screen3" is the fourth, "Screen 4" is the third and "Screen5" is the second one.
I did not have any of these "facebook-links" in my TF3D-menus before.
Does anybody have an idea how to fix the problem with the events-tab ?

I have two questions (stock Sprint TP2):
Is there anyway I can have the settings tab in the start menu go to the windows settings when I click it rather than have it go to the TF3D settings? Maybe a registry edit?
When you send text messages and you get the SMS sent notification, it pops up and it plays a sound, but the sound just stopped playing for me. Nothing was installed/changed to cause this and I've tried messing around with the sound settings, but it doesn't seem like there's anything that can enable/disable that sound, so I'm not sure what happened. Would I need to do something in the registry for this too?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It looks like that might be for 6.5? I'm on 6.1 and don't see a StartInfo under the Shell folder.
I have the same issue with my sound notification for sms, just stopped working, anyone know of any workarounds?
So I tried this official TMO romon my Wife's phone. It seems fine but there seems to be no way of getting to the normal winMo settings. When I click on the settings icon from the start menu, it takes me to the manilla settings.
Has anyone found a way to the normal windows settings where you have all the other settings, like the remove programs, and all of the others?
Also what really sucks about it is that you cant just move the icons around how I want in the start menu, I have either move to top or move to bottom.

I just upgraded my device to official Windows Mobile 6.5, now I found that the option "Flash light for" is disabled and not clickable for new text messages, emails and missed callI
It was enabled in 6.1.

Could you clarify. Are you looking for the old Flashlight App?
If so there is one on freewarepocketpc.net and they also have an app store you can install. The one I use is called Mobile Flashlight.
Are you saying the buttons for new texty messages and so forth are not working? Did you use a cooked ROM? If so which one?

Go to Settings -> Sounds & Notifications.
Click "Notifications" tab.
Select "Messaging: New text message"
You will see that "Flash light for 5" minutes is disabled.
How can I enable it?

You just taught me a new feature. I'm not sure why that wouldn't be disabled. I'm using Energy ROM with WinMo 6.5 Build 23554.5.5.0. I'm not sure if it is build specific or something from your carrier. If you are not apposed to a Cooked ROM you shouldn't have this problem.
this has been solved a couple times. you need to change available options registry entries in the notifications key folder. i think ill make a cab if i get some time.
