I just installed S2U2 but think it is draining my battery more than usual. Any one have problems with this?

i have a similar problem
I've not got a problem with it. phone been on battery since about 1.30 yesterday - made 3 calls and nothing else since then (meaning s2u2 running the whole time) and still now 18 hours later on 92%
POST EDIT: I just had a look and running v1.52 so no experience with your version - sorry
I have used it since it came out and I haven't noticed any significant battery drain. I mean, the battery usage is about the same after installing S2U2 as before. Could it be some other application? You could try to uninstall S2U2 and check?
Yeah i am 100 % sure it is S2U2. When i uninstalled it my battery was okay again. I just installed v. 1.52. Maybe that wont drain my battery

I had the same problem with version 1.62
I reverted back to 1.52 and stuck with it
So many things added to version 1.62 that i dont really need so for me 1.52 is just great

lock when device wakes up=on
on battery power: power off in 5 seconds
information: date format =option 2, time format =option 2, clock font folder =option 2
phone: caller id = full screen, slide to answer = always, phone no. format= option 1
wallpaper: full-screen battery=charging, file/directory(portrait)=option1,(landscape)=option1
others: action when connect to external power=unlock, unlock when stylus is pulled out=on, unlock to home screen=on, inertia of slider=5
advanced: power save mode =on, display mode= directdraw
everything else is off or grayed out as i dont need it or use it
I found 1.52 killed my battery real quick. 1.45 seemed the best for battery consumption but 1.62 seems good to me.
+1.62 is ok for me.
I did have an issue with 1.61 and so returned to 1.52 but 1.62 does not give me a battery drain.
I do have polling for emails set to 5 minutes and also use activesync to poll with google sync, both of which should give me heavy battery drain.
With light phone use and a few texts, i get about 1.5 to 2 days between charges.
I will point out though that if a charge using a USB to PC cable i get less than a day. If i use the mains charger, then i get the above. Strange i know, but true.
I have updated my tp2 with the official dutch 6.5 rom.
But my battery is eating in a day !! with use.
and no I have no push internet ,wheater or stocks updates automaticly on !!
While with winmobile 6.1 2 days battery time with verry often internet use !
Sometimes its fully loaded en after 1 night ( 8 hours the phone is completely empty on standby !!! en the device is turned off because the battery is completely empty.
How can a phone eating the battery on standby ? doing nothing
sometimes when I locked the phone I see for 1 second a red underlined box but
its gone before I can read the message.
The redunderlined box seems to be identical to the box : cant get "connection" wich you can get when the phone has not a connection.

6.5 has a better internet experience.
but the the wheater or stocks tab update sometimes get out of connection even the internet has sometime this problem.
The 6.5 sometimes freezes for 3-4 seconds when locking the phone.
But Overal I must say I want to keep the 6.5 I like it !!
NOW ONLY SOLVING THE BATTERY EATING !!

I might have an Idea about the problem
Before the TP II I had the Tytn II. I've updated that phone with manila, and that also drownes my battery. A while later I updated my RADIO, to an older version, and the problems were gone.
So my guess is here:
The standard Radio with the dutch TP2 WM6.1 ROM is not suitable for WM6.5 somehow it drowns the battery very fast.
question is: where to find a (good) ROM?

hi one thing to do flash a custom rom sergio cell pro 5.5 rom is good for battery speed stable or any of the ohter roms ngrz fusion shadowline ark try a few custom roms out and see what you like stock rom sucks remember to use hard spl and follow the steps theres a styki thread in rom section how to do this

I don't want custom roms (though I appreciate the work done on Cust.Roms by the XDA users!) because of my guaranty!
but 12 hours with 1 battery is also NOT an option!
Don't know yet if my battery is suffering under WinMo 6.5, but what I do know is that 6.5 uses a lot more RAM than 6.1. You've already disabled pushinternet and here is what youi can do to release even more RAM:
" Trying to relase even more RAM, my search ended at pocketnow.com with an article regarding your cab and they also suggested to perform another registry tweak (via PPCGeeks) to release even more memory. The suggested reg tweak is: “go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\ResProxy” using a registry editor and change “ShareMemSize” to 0" (on my TP2 it says 391891).
After a soft reste my TP2 starts with 41% of RAM usage instead of 55%. That should save battery life.

Have you done a hard reset? My Tilt 2 will last almost 2 days in standby with my normal set of programs running, S2U2, cellid (uploads CID every N minutes if changed), aebattery, using Pocket Plus for today screen with Pocket Weather running inside it, etc.
If I enable FlexMail with 2 online IMAP mailboxes and 6 periodically synced boxes, it drops down to 19 hours or so.
Your situation is not normal.

there is another possibility to perform a hard reset (only works as long as you can access your phone):
go to settings - system - (and because your have a Dutch ROM) - go to the item "opslag wissen" (erase everything). This returns the phone to the factory settings, e.g hard reset. It will ask you to enter the password to perform that action: this is 1234.
Some of my battery data for you to compare with your own TP2:
I'm running stock WinMo 6.5.
battery data:
standby time: 22,5 hours
talking time: 3 mins
device usage: 2 hours
remaining battery: 72%
RAM usage: 43%
Hard reset did the job.
pressing green-red-power button and read the message.
pres only volume up and device resetting.
after that I had 30 hours batt life en stil 2 stripe on batt indicator

I've recharged my battery again. Now, after 30 hours and 31 minutes, I still have 51% battery life left. (with 20% drowning last 3 hours...)
so there's hope!

WHAT???? how in the world are u getting this much life out of ur battery...mines dead in about 12 hours with minimal usage

Hello. ..Someone tried to turn off Location Service Settings? .. Text there is: "Improve location service by collecting location data at any time when device is in use ...I switch this off and as if the rate of the battery noticeably decreased. .. I try battery tomorrow after a full charge.

Where is this? I can't find it, was curious to see what the value is on my phone.

No SPB here, but Settings -> System is where I looked, perhaps not in my ROM. No biggie.
Is there any kind of app that will automatically turn on/off the mobile data network so that cell standby is not consuming so much of my battery power?
Tasker should work for that, it costs a few dollars but is definitely worth it

its possible it can be, I have keep it running right now and have no problems with battery life but I don't use it for very much. I don't know of any app list sorry

I second juice defender, it's free and effective.
Juicedefender ftw. But I sometimes disable that portion because I have a habit of data usage and distraction.. Which cuts me short. To his his own I guess

just download apn that will turn off ur data connection when u want to. or just root use cyanogenmod and his is built into the system power bar

Just turn off "Enable always-on mobile data" in the settings. No app required. That alone extended my battery life by a few hours.

Second that. I have my weather and email sync every hour, so I don't even notice any ill effects. 3G stays off until you turn the screen on, or a preset sync is initiated.

Does it do a good job now? I was beta-testing at one point, and he was having issues getting the 4G toggle to work reliably.
my defy was flashed to rc1,but the battery using is very horribly...
about one hour in stand by mode,battery level from 100% to 94%,
after 6 hours,my defy was shut down...
i have already set the cpu to 25/35/50,300/600/1000

I've tried RC1 first release without flashing the new rom and use the recovery wipe only. I've confronted the phone call problem but the battery life is much better than RC0.
UM...I have play a game call shadow guardian one hours i consumes my battery life to 55-60,but in the other 4-5hours,i just use the dictionary for few times

btw,is this rc1 v1 is better than v2?

Do battery calibration after charging it to 100% on a newly flashed ROM..
i got 3days 2hrs of battery when my phone started crying at 15% battery remaining..i was on CM7 RC1v1..i m sure RC1v2 is better than v1..many bugs r fixed...

charge ur phone till it says 100%..then click on battery calibration.
well there is no disadvantages.only advantages

well after wiping battery stats it takes time to adjust..
i think its better to update to latest nightly.
i also had this kind of problem..but after updating,this problem was gone..now i get almost 2 hrs per 1% drop

I am using CM7.2(FXP106) on my Xperia arc, with the kernel that comes with it. But I find out that battery drain is much more worse than the stock. 42 ROM. I usually charge the phone to 100% before I sleep, and the phone only uses 3% during my sleep with stock ROM. (stock kernel, cpu is downclocked to 768MHz when screen is off, using conservative governor.) However with CM7.2 my phone consumes more than 10% during my sleep. I also downclock the cpu to 768MHz when screen is off the cpu governor is smartassv2. In battery usage, mobile standby and phone idle consume the most. lol (It used to be display with stock rom) Is there any possible workaround? thanks a lot.

ok, i try to give you a view points to check:
read and install this on your phone. I had also a battery-drainer on my phone. i found it and now i´m happy
One time, on my x10miniPro the facebook app drain my battery.
Have you clear dalvik-cache before you install the rom? full wipe?
I installed many custom-roms at my x10 miniPro. Sometimes i have also fast battery drain. Then i made a second time a full wipe, clear dalvik cache and install the rom new. This fixed most of the problems.

for this reason i changed to Arconium, and.... 1% during a whole night in flight mode, with FXP it was about 10%!
i really miss the additional settings from CM7 but as long as this Problem exists , even if they say its normal, i wont switch back.
I had exactly the same problem whith CM7.2 FXP107
It was "Cell standby" (I'm not sure it's how it's called in english) that was anormally draining battery. It may be linked to baseband (I was using 64 one).
I had wiped everything possible before, flashed with CM7.2 kernel.
So I swiched to Arconium 7 + DoomKernel 0.18 + baseband 36 with patches. No problem since.
I don't know where the problem came from, it didn't took time to investigate, it was to much of a drain to keep my phone like this.

i also tried Baseband -36 and -56 no difference, Full Wipe Battery Calibration and so on, but nothing changed.
There is no excssive battery drain on CM7.
Flash latest kernel, try different basebands, calibrate the battery sometimes (correct calibration !) and you won't have battery drain anymore.
I lose about 1,5 % in deep sleep and about 5 % with heavy (e.g. streaming, gaming).

Of course per hour.
I haven't tested flight mode yet (completely useless, imo).
I don't expect any wonders, I can use my device a whole day with everything I want to do without a fear of battery dead.

but for me a whole day in 3g was not bossible with fxp, after 10 hours of medium use, it was over.
(with 3 you cant switch to 2g in bigger cities in Austria)

what type of calibration do you mean? the app? i tried both , the app and i found somwhere here a description with full charge, cwm and so on, but i did not help , not even a bit.

EDIT: There you go (instead of xRecovery use CWM).
If this doesn't help either, here are more options.

4. In recovery, go to Advanced options --> Wipe Battery Stats --> Yes
5. Take the battery off
6. Insert the charger chord

8. Once the phone boots up, you will notice that the battery percentage is around 88% instead of 100%
9. Charge the phone back to 100%
10. Repeat 4-5 times, seems to be the sweet spot

Thx for the Guide , but this doesnt work for me, once i had 82% after the first reboot , but now my phone doesnt boot automatically when i re insert the Battery, there is just a charging Symbol. when i boot manually , i have 100% battery.
You can use Toggle 2G with CM ROMs, pretty good in saving battery, you can set data to switch to 2G after certain minutes after the screen is off.
