i have a similar problem
I've not got a problem with it. phone been on battery since about 1.30 yesterday - made 3 calls and nothing else since then (meaning s2u2 running the whole time) and still now 18 hours later on 92%
POST EDIT: I just had a look and running v1.52 so no experience with your version - sorry
I have used it since it came out and I haven't noticed any significant battery drain. I mean, the battery usage is about the same after installing S2U2 as before. Could it be some other application? You could try to uninstall S2U2 and check?
Yeah i am 100 % sure it is S2U2. When i uninstalled it my battery was okay again. I just installed v. 1.52. Maybe that wont drain my battery
What are you settings?
up
got same problem.. didnt have this with the previous versions..
maybe its something in the settings that makes it drain the battery like that?
Maybe. Have you changed anything in your settings?
I had the same problem with version 1.62
I reverted back to 1.52 and stuck with it
So many things added to version 1.62 that i dont really need so for me 1.52 is just great
sorry, please delete this post

lock when device wakes up=on
on battery power: power off in 5 seconds
information: date format =option 2, time format =option 2, clock font folder =option 2
phone: caller id = full screen, slide to answer = always, phone no. format= option 1
wallpaper: full-screen battery=charging, file/directory(portrait)=option1,(landscape)=option1
others: action when connect to external power=unlock, unlock when stylus is pulled out=on, unlock to home screen=on, inertia of slider=5
advanced: power save mode =on, display mode= directdraw
everything else is off or grayed out as i dont need it or use it
I found 1.52 killed my battery real quick. 1.45 seemed the best for battery consumption but 1.62 seems good to me.
+1.62 is ok for me.
I did have an issue with 1.61 and so returned to 1.52 but 1.62 does not give me a battery drain.
I do have polling for emails set to 5 minutes and also use activesync to poll with google sync, both of which should give me heavy battery drain.
With light phone use and a few texts, i get about 1.5 to 2 days between charges.
I will point out though that if a charge using a USB to PC cable i get less than a day. If i use the mains charger, then i get the above. Strange i know, but true.

I'm just doing tired of unistall apps and monitor processes to see what causes this all of a suddent. First i thougt it was phone alarm, then voice commnad..now i start to think that this is since i intaleld htc official rom. I had the touch rom before and everything worked fine...now my battery with regular use dont last till the end of the day. Anyone having this problem...any sugestion?
same problem
i even bought a new battery and it only lasts 1 and half days
With the HTC official rom too?
yeah official o2 wm5 rom, think mine has somet to do with the reset button as ive never pressed it yet as i just got the device and i have relised its stuck so think it keeps restarting randomly..
Anyone knows any app wich i can mesure the battery consuption independetly...i just dont know what to do more. Or i need a opinion on stable WM6 Rom for Artemis with some good store space....
Hi all on this Thread, about Battery drain power.
First of all, it could be better to help you if we can see what kind of OS (original or cooked) you own on your PDA.
I saw an option on Tweaks2k2 .NET that could "Boot @ full power mode" with some warnings. Warnings that talk about draining power of you PDA with some alarm reminders that are still activated.
That could be a way to look for.
My rom is the official HTC upgrade to WM6. I didnt use any tweek so far. Just want to see if anyone had this problem with the official rom since this problem appered after i intealed the offcicial rom. I had the touch rom before and everything was fine. I'll try to put the app to see if is set to full power dont know how...thanks.
get a application like BATTERYSTATUS which permits to over/underclock your system and check if your CPU speed is set to the correct one. sometimes making a hard reset right after upgrading a rom is also a good idea
Already have and always used it...its not the processor speed..i think its some app but i cant find wich or the radio version since when i make a 1 or 2 minutes call always 1 or 2% go down

Battery status gives you the comsumption. In that case set the refresh delay to something like 2/3 minutes. Of course, in that case, battery status will have itself a high comsumption of battery. But it can give you clues.
I noticed that battery drain is a lot higher after flashing a ROM, some people have a theory that the battery training starts all over after a flashing process. I think I can confirm that. My battery never lasted more than 1.5 days after flashing a ROM and my first GPS fix took about 3 minutes. A few days later my battery was fine again.
If the power consumption info from batterystatus is not enough try this taskmgr: http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm or get some battery benchmark software from on of the big freeware sites.
Hi Guys!
I am facing a very extreme battery draining situation...
Something is keep waking up my phone while my screen is turned off.
Is there any good app out there I could monitor / Find out what is constantly waking up my phone? I can not find any good app for that.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Settings->About Phone->Battery->Battery Use
Get yourself rooted and grab SetCPU. I have a profile set on that which underclocks my CPU when the screen is off. Doing this GREATLY increased my battery life.
I also use Tom Hubalek's Battery Gauge Widget to help me monitor my battery. But, after using the RCMix S v2.0 ROM and calibrating my battery (and the mentioned CetCPU settings) I get a good day out of my phone with a lot of wifi and 3g usage.
Never had any issue so far with my battery... I am checking battery usage in the settings menu but it is not enough. Need to see what exactly using my battery 'cause its unacceptable to drain 60% in 5 hours... The only thing I can see that something is using (waking up) the phone even when the screen is turned off...
I am using SetCPU as well with Smartass governor... can not be the problem...
Also set a profile for screen off - i have it set to 245min-245max smartass. It seems to save battery more than just set on the main screen.

Have you tried changing the Wi-Fi sleep policy? Also, pocket mode and fastboot, if you have those options.
My SetCPU is set to OnDemand. I thought Smartass was unstable and gobbled more power than it should? I dunno, though, I use whatever the ROM developer uses for the ROM; I don't change anything.
But you're right, my phone has lost 61% in 14 hours. 60 in 5 is wrong.
I think JuiceDefender has some of the features you're looking for, though:

Ach, I have mine to 245-600MHz when the screen is off. Any less and my rom is lacky when the screen wakes. Had the same settings as you for other none Sense 3.0 ROM's though. MAJOR power saving. If you leave your phone downloading, though, the screen off profile kills the download rate.
Check it out, upload a file to your phone via wifi, turn the screen off and watch the speed plummet to about 100kbs!
EDIT:
Anyway, I had a massive power saving when I used this ROM:

Still using it today!

Dialer
If you're using a gingerbread based ROM, it could also be the dialer. At least it is for me. Sometimes he just goes crazy and I have to reboot the phone. Apparently the dialer checks the phones proximity using the sensors again and again.
For further reference and solutions see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1069251
Juice defender and Setcpu are in the same basket as task killers.
If you are using Smartass you don't need any profiles. Check your widgets, probably you have one which updates every second and kills your battery.
Hi everybody,
I'm facing with a big issue since a while with my battery life. The battery is draining very very fast without visible reason...
I've tried everything to spot the problem but I now wonder if it is not an hardware problem (died battery).
So how can I know if I have to replace my battery or not ?
Thanx
P.S : sorry for my english
There are lot of recommendations to improve your battery life, have you tried them? Explain more about the problem.
What I've tried :
- Calibrated my battery with all the the existent tutorials but it doesn't shut down at 0% (but not my biggest issue)
- Installed current widget and studied the current log which showed normal values (5mah in sleep) with few higher values
- Installed Better Battery Stats which didn't spot problem neither in ''Process" or "Partial Wakelocks"
My current set up :
- Latest Oxygen rom, with recommended kernel and radio
- Set cpu ==> wake up 245 - 768 (ondemand) / sleep mode : 245-384 (powersave or ondemand)
- Automatic luminosity
- I manually switch off 3G every time I turn off the screen
- Synchro : mail (every hour), facebook (every 4 hours)
In general, my battery last 8 hours even if I don't use it a lot...
Did u try to use a different Rom.
I had the same thing with Oxygen. Just went to ICS and now everything last even longer.
I also got stunning results with a MIUI rom, about 2 days of usage.
Yep, approximately the same results with every roms (aosp, sense and miui)
I would try CM7, anyway how old is your phone? and for how many time you 've been with this trouble?
I already tried cm7
I bought the Desire at his launch so about 2 years ago. I've been with this trouble since 4 month approximately...
I am more and more convinced that this is an hardware problem (my battery may be dead)
See in Battery Stats what exactly consumes . Screen is very hungry , even on automatic , after that comes phone calls , wi-fi , data transfers
Why opening a second thread with the same problem????????

I already checked several times and indeed the screen is very hungry (40 to 70%). Then, comes the wifi, cell standby, android OS, phone idle.
Nothing unusual regarding what I found in this forum...

Hi all,
I am using CM7.2(FXP106) on my Xperia arc, with the kernel that comes with it. But I find out that battery drain is much more worse than the stock. 42 ROM. I usually charge the phone to 100% before I sleep, and the phone only uses 3% during my sleep with stock ROM. (stock kernel, cpu is downclocked to 768MHz when screen is off, using conservative governor.) However with CM7.2 my phone consumes more than 10% during my sleep. I also downclock the cpu to 768MHz when screen is off the cpu governor is smartassv2. In battery usage, mobile standby and phone idle consume the most. lol (It used to be display with stock rom) Is there any possible workaround? thanks a lot.
Ivan
ok, i try to give you a view points to check:
read and install this on your phone. I had also a battery-drainer on my phone. i found it and now i´m happy
One time, on my x10miniPro the facebook app drain my battery.
Have you clear dalvik-cache before you install the rom? full wipe?
I installed many custom-roms at my x10 miniPro. Sometimes i have also fast battery drain. Then i made a second time a full wipe, clear dalvik cache and install the rom new. This fixed most of the problems.
try this and report
I had the same issue, but they closed the Issue at the project-page:
http://code.google.com/p/freexperia...tatus Priority Milestone Owner Summary&id=155
for this reason i changed to Arconium, and.... 1% during a whole night in flight mode, with FXP it was about 10%!
i really miss the additional settings from CM7 but as long as this Problem exists , even if they say its normal, i wont switch back.
I had exactly the same problem whith CM7.2 FXP107
It was "Cell standby" (I'm not sure it's how it's called in english) that was anormally draining battery. It may be linked to baseband (I was using 64 one).
I had wiped everything possible before, flashed with CM7.2 kernel.
So I swiched to Arconium 7 + DoomKernel 0.18 + baseband 36 with patches. No problem since.
I don't know where the problem came from, it didn't took time to investigate, it was to much of a drain to keep my phone like this.

i also tried Baseband -36 and -56 no difference, Full Wipe Battery Calibration and so on, but nothing changed.
There is no excssive battery drain on CM7.
Flash latest kernel, try different basebands, calibrate the battery sometimes (correct calibration !) and you won't have battery drain anymore.

PM me, I work at this very operator (in IT Outsourcing, but company is company).
EDIT: There you go (instead of xRecovery use CWM).
If this doesn't help either, here are more options.

STEPS:
1. Download and install xRecovery from here.
2. Charge your phone to 100%
3. Turn off the phone and boot into recovery
4. In recovery, go to Advanced options --> Wipe Battery Stats --> Yes
5. Take the battery off
6. Insert the charger chord
7. Put the battery back and wait for the phone to boot
8. Once the phone boots up, you will notice that the battery percentage is around 88% instead of 100%
9. Charge the phone back to 100%
10. Repeat 4-5 times, seems to be the sweet spot
11. Enjoy your hopefully better battery life and report!

Thx for the Guide , but this doesnt work for me, once i had 82% after the first reboot , but now my phone doesnt boot automatically when i re insert the Battery, there is just a charging Symbol. when i boot manually , i have 100% battery.
You can use Toggle 2G with CM ROMs, pretty good in saving battery, you can set data to switch to 2G after certain minutes after the screen is off.

Hi guys.
I have a strange problem. My Gio charges from 3% to 100% in 3 minutes. It says fully charged...
Of course it's not real charging, if i unplug it, and start to play a game or just see my mails with wifi, it consumes that 100% on 5-10 minutes...
I've tried to charge the phone all night and the result is 2-3h of working time. If i use power consuming apps, like games, than it's just half an hour... I think that the phone stops somehow the charging process if it reaches to 100%.
I've tried to calibrate the battery, with program from market, and wiping batterystats from CWM too... It didn't help...
The strange thing is, that last week it worked well. Now something happened and it's ruinig my life...
I had THIS ROM when it started.
I've changed to THIS ROM, and it didn't solve the problem. All caches were wiped during flashing...
Any ideas?
Thanks for any help!

Hm you said you tried to calibrate the battery so it`s weird. I have sometimes the same problem but after a calibration it is fixed. I can only recommend to charge it overnight , make sure you`re not overclocking it , make sure you don`t use wifi , mobile data , gps , see if there`s an improvement keep it only with calls and messaging for 1 day see how that goes. Check also the battery maybe it has a spillage altough i don`t think that`s the case. Sorry that`s all i can say
Thanks for the advices.
I've just set the CPU governor to smartassv2. It was on Ondemand. Now I can discharge the phone with playing within 15 minutes. It's better than it was on ondemand...
I will try to use it like a regular phone, let's see how it works...

I've a battery old as yours (04.05.2011)
With any custom ROM my battery life is of 3 hours...
With stock is kinda 5 hours with 2G connection activated.
I'm waiting for a new battery, but if you want to keep your phone alive up to then:
- flash a stock ROM
- install as few apps as you can (I've G+, Stream (FB client), FB messanger, Viber, WhatsApp, App Cache Cleaner, AppZorter and xda app, nothing else T_T)
- do NOT use kernel different from stock
- hope you good luck because first times battery will be strange, after some full usage and discharge now I've the battery life I told before
Hope this could help
