Great googly moogly.....for almost two weeks straight I was on a xda-developers overload of flashing my phone with something every night.
There was the excitement of some new functionality, mixed with the adrenylene of doing something that you're not "supposed" to be doing, mixed with fear of bricking your phone...
I was obsessed....I would flash as soon as it came out and constantly monitor the thread to see what bugs or hacks people were adding...
Now..I have my phone exactly the way I want it ........AND.........
I'm bored.
When does WM7 come out?
ain't that the truth....
I Agree
I agree! I got my Hermes right at the right time. Just a week after I got it, I started to read this site and figure out how to unlock it. I then loaded the new cingular ROM. As soon as I did that, all of sudden all these WM6 ROMs came out. I've flashed every single ROM and their versions on to my device. It has become second nature. I've found the best one and now I don't know what to do with my free time. It's killing me. Can't wait till WXML0.3. Then I get to do it again at least one more time. Enjoy.
Yep, I am bored too. Although if LVSW keep the usual schedule, we should see new version now. It seem as we were getting an update every 5 days. I was taken sick days from work to play with my phone. The truth is after staying up all night there was no way I can perform well at work.
Anyway I am seating here waiting to flash a new ROM
I'm so bored...I'm thinking about flashing WM5 again...okay... maybe not that bored

Ditto! A week ago I was a scared noob... now I'm a flash-freak!
omg I feel the same way, I have a wizard dash and hermes and every day I am flashing at least one of them. I need a new hobby, like many others here my wife thinks im cheating on her with the internets. when Im at work I check this forum constantly! havent been caught yet!
Ooh! Ooh! New Flash Alert!!!!!
absolutely know what your'e talking about
update your SPL's and/or signatures to 1.40.Olipro then
I check this forum at least five times a day. I've flashed XDA Live 1, 2.0, LVSW, Black 1.2... and ended up sticking with XDA 2.0. Its the sturdiest for me...
Then Windows Live Messenger Beta stopped so I am now waiting for Black V2... with full on Live messenger - but that wont stop me from loading WMXL 3.0 when it arrives... and then I may just get a life.
Well... When we have all tried it all - next must be to create even better roms, perhaps even one that can make us fly to the moon....

HAHA - yessir..
But I believe that the roms from our Chefs will improve to a level much higher than the original WM6 - and what I find even more impressive is the way that things have developed so far. OLI, ROMS, Memory, Tweaks, Improvements..
Had I been from MS I would for sure keep my eyes opened in here... And who knows (This i far out I know, and just meant for fun) if MS had released som BETA to see reactions and how things in the OS would be improved.
Or without the MS releasing - I am sure they must keep an eye on the Forum and different threads and releases - just to see improvement. And who knows. They might end up adapting some of the stuff. (Or try to find ways to avoid what the chefs are doing...)
...just som crazy thoughts..
Sometimes i think we all just are "wm6-Betatesters" for Microsoft. Esepecially since in know that we will get an official wm6 rom for our tytns. Perhaps xda-devs have a secret contract with Microsoft. Who knows
I have the same feeling... it´s been a great two weeks but as things begin to settle down I´m always awaiting the next "fix".
I think that I will stick to a XDA ROM instead of a slow MS ROM. I dont believe that they will end up with a rom as good as i can be when our CHEFS have had it in the kitchen....heheh
BTW - has any heard of any software that let us emulate old MS games - like the classic games series of Close Combat.
omg
yo is there a website for G1 themes where you can post your own and get some
or is XDA the best we got soo far

Then why don't you get a domain name and create a site?
he was just asking if there was a website...
because i dont feel like redownloading and cracking fireworks and dreamweaver
but in the future i might just do that and use it as turn it in as project for my web design class
btw im in the 11th grade
=]
ahh.. gives me ideass to make a theme webiste.. lol.. if you make one i'll help contribute some themes to it .. just have to wait until putting themes on your phone becomes easier for the end user that doesn't know about XDA .. and flashing .. and what the heck a Root is
It is kind of humorous.
I was in the market for a new phone and was looking at the Iphone since it came out. Three or four guys at work showed me their phones and I was hooked, damned be the Iphone's good looks.
After having my phone for two weeks I noticed that the stuff coming out on the Android Market was usefull, but since I like things like Overclocking, you know... bigger...better...faster, I stumbled onto this website about a 2 weeks before the root RC30>RC29 breakthrough. I am trying to keep up because I think this android thing is gonna be really big and I am trying to keep up.
Its been along time since I have done any difficult computer stuff, and these forums has caused me to start considering learning something about Linux.
Themes and Wallpapers will probably get alot easier in the future, but I will be able to look back and say, I remember when we used to have to do things the hard way.
Yes indeed .. the Android in a lil shy of 3 months has already made so much progress
the android system will be come soo universal that the iphone will pale in comparison unless apple changes how they go about things , hardware wise
i think the iphone's hardware is a masterpeice but, the OS is like a trainwreck
ooooo imagine an iphone with android that would be pretty badass
but anyways
the free-ness and the ubiquidocity that will become of the android system
will lead too greatness

Went from a newborn on 22 October to it's current state as a cute lil' toddler with it's own personality already in just 3 months.
Now there's root for all thanks to JesusFreke; Koush has the screenshot and autorotate browser, we've got a good collection of themes started, 190 apps on Market and 140 games.
Our lil' Android is growing up. Ahh, they grow up so fast, don't they?
you are damn right they do
well the android system anyways its like a baby on steroids and growth hormone
Hi guys...I am thinking about creating a website that will host G1 themes, backgrounds, icon sets...etc. Kinda like a one site for all G1 stuff. If I were to create this website, would I have support from the G1 XDA crew, like providing with themes and what not?
Also, I will need some people to help me run the website and stuff so if you have experience, let me know
Cheers
Sounds like a pretty sweet idea, because I have a feeling this whole thing is gonna skyrocket once the Android usage hits critical mass later this year. I'd try to contribute on such a site, no doubt.

Reasons I'd consider waiting are as follows:
1, When CupCake is released, what kind of impact will this have on the theming community.
2, Maybe wait until all themes are cross platform compatible (i.e. we don't need separate RC8, RC30, and ADP1 versions)
3, Maybe wait until the first theming program is release, so people not aware don't try to randomly flash and jack up their phone.
4, Do we really need a dedicated website already? Have we even hit the 10 theme mark yet? (Also, aren't they all in here right now anyway?)
These are just my thoughts. Others' will probably differ.
Sounds like a great idea i am down check your p.m box.
I have the recources for this web site, but i can not develope it. If someone can make the website, i can host it. P.M me for more information.
I 100% agree with Mi|enko.
Wait it out man.... the operating system is changing so fast that you don't want to waste the money. There are rumors of Google releasing a theme creator which will be available "online". (You will create your theme from Gmail.com and it will sync with your phone).
That would mean your website goes down the hole REAL quick...
I hate to admit it, but everyone has moved on to the HD2. They have pretty much everything working on the HD2 but there is no developers working on the Rhodium and we have no sound yet.
I really thank all the devs and everyone else involved into making Android run on our Rhodiums, but we gotta face the truth someday. It was fun and I cook WinMo ROMs for the Rhodium, but we gotta realize its dated. The only reason I still have my Rhodium is because it has a keyboard. I'm waiting for a humming bird core HTC phone with QWERTY to make the upgrade. I know some people are gonna flame. Its OK I understand you want to hold on to that Rhodium you have. We ALL do.
PS: Its sad seeing craiglisters selling Android for the HD2. I wish I could kill them all. They don't deserve any money since they did not do any of the work involved nor did they contribute ONE thing. This is why I hate scenes like the smartphone scene... People take credit for what isn't theirs.

I'm getting sick of threads on this, I'm sure devs do not appreciate them either..
Why you gotta be so negative? They are doing their best they can so why don't you lock yourself in the closet and come out of there once android has been fully ported to our device

I an getting a little woried that we have reached the point of no return. It would be helpfull if the devs did post updates to let use know where we stand. I am not giving up hope just yet. I can't upgrade for quite some time and don't want to pay out the nose for something that could give me just what I am looking for.
Just want so feedback from devs to know what's up?

Its funny, I bet there were people like you guys years ago for the Kaiser and Vogue... they work 100% now BTW. It doesnt mean people still use their Kaiser with Android for their daily phone (some do of course) but thats not what XDA is about. This used to be a strickly development forum, now its full of "gimme-gimme" users who think the OP of the thread is Customer Service.

Keep up the good work. Ignore the leeches. All they do is take. They dont realize that their purpose should be to test and return feedback on the testing. Instead they seem to think that this forum is like you said, full of customer service reps. Its pathetic.
Anyhow, there are tons of people who appreciate all of the developers work and look forward to more updates.
Yea Reefer, let em have it. I wish I could help more to unlock the potential of this phone. It really is a pretty slick device that just wasn't given enough polish or muscle. I researched the purchase of it for months beforehand and don't want to just give it up now.

Wrong. they make a rom and put it on here for everyone. and lets say 50 people download it. and 25 of them have a problem with it. you realy thing that a dev has time to try and fix 25 peoples problems while at the same time make updates to the roms cause your demanding them? thats not how it works. if you install a rom and something goes wrong then you ask the 24 other people if any of them have had the same problem or found a fix. your a tester. if your getting the devs work for free. the least thing you could do is test it and let everyone know how it works.
Dated but not dead.
You may think its dead but for people who still own the TP2, like myself, would like to see this till the end. I still have another year with this phone before I can upgrade and I cant fork out 500+ dollars to buy a new one like the HD2 or Incredible. I'm sure there are others out there in the same situation. So just because you were able to move on with an upgrade doesn't mean its dead.
sound will be working in a matter of time acl is making head way on it over at ppcgeeks.
i used to have a htc vogue (aka htc touch vx 6900 US Cellular) that would run android eclair but slowly. i was due for an upgrade and picked up the more powerful touch pro 2 specifically to run android smoother. i love the dual boot between a nice custom win mo rom and android, however, ive noticed there isnt nearly as many diffrent android developers trying to port or whatever the term is to get it to work on the touch pro 2 like there is with win mobile roms. project android froyo ([PRJ][GSM&CDMA][CAB&RAR] XDAndroid AOSP Port & Startup Utility [8/30] FIXED NOISE!) has the most working stuff but even on a overclock runs like crap, lagging and not running certain apps. the klinux eclair 2.1 sense UI is great but locks up,lags,no sounds and has no internet. neopeek's eclair runs the best out of them all, super fast and responsive but no internet,no live wall paper and no sounds.
can anyone point me in the right direction of a actual android project or update that can bring me as close to a functioning android OS that will work. eclair looks promising on speed, but there is to much that is still broke on it. thx

when i said "actual" i ment one that works, im not trying to criticize any of the developers here or not be appreciative. im just looking to have android run as smooth as everyone else does on their tp2.
TP2 Development
I am experiencing the same situation as you, but understand the TP2 is still under heavy development. Now that sound is working I would imagine stability and other features will be addressed in the next few weeks. If you want a phone that will work perfectly with Android switch to the HTC Desire that US Cellular just put out a few weeks back, it ships with Android. You can buy yourself out of the contract pro-rated for the time you have left. You cannot expect a phone that ships with Windows Mobile to run Android flawlessly. If you want to increase progress you can download the development tools and help, or you can post a bounty for items you would like addressed. You could also download the 6/20 version of MightyROM and enjoy a stable WM6.5 build. Good luck!
They all work, just to varying degrees.

That's probably the best build right there. If you were expecting Android to run flawlessly on your fancy new phone, you are very, very mistaken.
If you want Android to run like it does on Android-specific devices... then you probably should've bought an Android device.
yea, i know its still under dev, but its like i have to choose between lag on froyo builds but almost everything works,or eclair builds that run as smooth as silk but miss out on my data connection, gps, ect ect.
ive just spent so much time into studying everything into android development and installation/updates ect ect and i still haven't even scratched the surface and it becomes frustrating after a full month of installing and deleting and back and forth testing, trust me, i know we all do the same here, but my eyes are burning from reading so many forums/topics/guides and i figure ill just ask if anyone has got a few of the bugs i have mentioned out of the way.
i can appreciate that somethings dont work cause thats just the way it is,but the kicker here is that the froyo build has almost everything working correctly, not to go back right not and look at the topic, but the only thing thats not working is camera, battery and bluetooth i think? and no big deal i dont need it anyways right now, but why cant i get an eclair build in the same working order?
i just would of thought that what could be applied to froyo could just as easily been applied to eclair.
im on neopeek v1.1 eclair right now,im going to see if i can get my data connection for US cell to work with a few tweaks, but ill miss the live wallpapers and gps.
C'est la vie buddy.
lol,now after applying a fix for US cell's data network gps works but no data

um no,im not looking for perfection, im looking to find out which one if any i have overlooked works best as of current, either by a whole new development,or by updates or tweaks. how am i supposed to help contribute my findings and fixes when i cant get the damn thing as stable as it is on your phone?
when i say "works" i mean that as in what works for you? not as in its got to be 100 percent perfect.
once again let me explain why i started this thread seeing how we seem to not be on the same level of thinking here. ill be as clear as crystal so you dont miss a beat.follow with me here...
froyo from prj android works but has a few glitches here and there (and i applaud their work and contribution to us all and i dont expect it to be 100%),i would just like it run how everyone else has on their tp2 that ive seen on youtube. eclair runs faster and smoother and is more responsive but somethings are not working on TP2. is there any updates on eclair builds? is there anybody that is having lag issues on prj android froyo,or are there some tweaks/settings/ or apps to smooth it out? why has dev shifted from eclair to froyo if eclair was running as smooth as it is,or is it just my phone sucks for some reason and eclair runs faster on it?
im trying to see what other users settings are, other experiences and other alternatives. what "works" for you. not some kind of im asking for a whole re write of the port on my lap. or slave your work to me. but now weve already gone beyond that point now haven't we?

I'm not sure what to tell you. I doubt my phone works any better than yours or anyone elses - it's FAR from perfect, as you've found and evidently have accepted.
So wait and be patient for new developments with the project - it's always gotten better & better.
With that said, I can only assume eclair development stopped because I know I'd prefer to run froyo over eclair... You can try throwing a new zImage/modules/rootfs at an eclair build, but no guranatees there.
Did you ever think it could be your SD card? Have you tried switching them out? Have you done a FULL (not quick) format to FAT32?
Froyo runs WAY faster than Eclair EVER did on my handset. There is no doubt about the difference, and thats why development shifted away from a dying and outdated version.

the xdandroid port featuring froyo is the best there is atm, nothing else. You can overclock to get "perfection" if you think thats something you are allowed to say. Fact of the matter is that you arent developing these port, nor are you contributing in any way shape or form. If you are looking for a smooth android experience go get an android phone, if you want novelty and pioneering then stick to your TP2 and install xdandroid and stop arguing with other members on this forum.

I personally have tried them both and I just like xdandroid posted by reefer better, so I guess I should have said " in my opinion" rather than just "atm". my bad. I just hate it when people come into forums just to ask questions and to belittle the developers work and not search first themselves. Usually those are the people that are here solely to freeload and not even help with troubleshooting other members problems or post experiences.
this is actually my 10th or more install of prj android froyo and this time for some weird reason it is faster.
yes i did format the sd card the long way, i used gparted live cd as well because i had to set it up for neopeek in 2 partitions . i have two sd cards at 2 and 4 gigs (i swap between) that i just decided to keep a 512mb partition in ext2 for projects like neopeek on both of them.
regardless this time around is giving me a faster experience on froyo, and i didnt edit change anything, just the common install with a soft restart as usual.i am using the blazn overclock i believe it is 716 or 768 mhz.
and of coarse i will keep you posted on any changes or fixes i find.

what is it with you people, didn't mommy and daddy love you enough as a child and teach you if you dont have anything good to say then dont say it all. who is belittling developers? i didnt come in here saying i think some one from this project or that is retarded,as a matter of fact i am grateful for the work these people have done and your trying to belittle me. im explaining what issues im having between different projects and jerks like you are trying to make me look like the bad guy.so comon down from your high horse and actually read what im talking about instead of jumping of the handle and making your self look like a complete jackass. yet once again, you miss the point. if i wanted an android phone i would of got one from the beginning ,i got a tp2 obviously to play around with android, see what it can do,what i can do to it and other reasons. ive got a few dev tools to create software for android i would like to use, so im asking questions, and if you sat a computer for as long as i have researching this with 30 or more tabs open trying to take notes from other threads, you'd be sick of reading all this other crap and post your own experiences/questions too.
and im a little well wiser than to keep stroking your ego, because people like you starve for the attention, otherwise you wouldnt jump into this thread to post your snotty ass comments.so if you wanna keep talking crap instead of offering something insightful to say,go ahead, cause im done dealing with **** heads like you.

I've been working with Linux and Android for a while now and I bet half of you write code that looks like a kid scribbling on the back of a McDonald´s napkin. I tell you what.. Treat people better and you just might have more people to aid in the projects and to the functionally quality. I have been messing with Linux and the open source development scene for years and this is a joke. Like a bunch of kids with computers and a power trip but on the same token you all write code like old people ****
Little by little I been noticing the dev's leave from our forums, So what will happen then? Tried myself to start creating a ROM but with no luck.... (laptop acts up most of the time). Anyways, as I was trying to imply what happens when development stops for the Hercules? Guess we will find out soon enough. I don't know if its due to the attitude given to these guys that are doing all this work for free or what? Kinda sad see that 2 developers go. Although their reasoning is personal and private, I can only imagine how they must feel when they do their best to make something for the public and all we do is nag on how bad it is or what can be done to change it.
This ain't to flame anyone or complain. Everyone has their personal likes. That being said why not invest some of that time of criticism and start doing your own. I have not been on this community for long as everyone can tell but I read and read and read. from our forum, the SR forum being that its similar device and its completely different atmosphere between the two. There's so much amicable peoplel there. They're willing to help on another. I just don't see it happening on our forums.Maybe, just maybe we just lost touch of what the community was created for.... to help one another create a better device for our daily use. Not to just constantly put in requests like the Dev is a radio dj . I for one. If its not that then its "this don't work buhuu!!!" It's been noticed here lately that there are sum differences between devices, hardware wise. That alone would drive anyone insane.. Bottom line, implement your personal touch to anything you use in here. That's what will make it your own pride and joy. I totally agree with stating something if it interfered with the functionality of the device. Then again its written very clearly in every single thread of ROM's, do this at your own risk. The developer is by no means responsible for any modifications you do to your device. When you decided to flash whatever it was you did, you took sole responsibility for your actions.
Last but not least, all I can say if it continues to be like this we might to go find new devices to toy with. This weeks its been 2 Devs that left. Next week might be 2 more and before you know it there wont be none. What then? Seriously, what then? With that said I want to say thanks for letting me vent and for creating this site for us (the daily users). Please nobody take any offense in particular for this is just my personal opinion. Doesn't reflect any ones else's but mines. Its a free community so I'm exercising my right to freedom of speech.
this is normal, as new devices emerge, like the SGS3 and Notes 2
Devs are naturally attracted to them
if you want to stay on the same device for a long time, then it's up to ourselves to learn now to compile, tweak, theme, and code the ROMs
a good example are the people over at the old Moto Milestone XT720 phone, that thing sucked when it came out at retail, and it's not very popular, but they took it upon themselves to build ROM from scratch and/or kanged it to make it a great device even after all these years, and the hardware limitation.
very much like the super geeks at the HTC HD2, can you imagine, that ancient relic able to run ICS, and most likely JB in near future
Get a new phone man. I don't plan on staying here much longer. I was tired of this phone 2 weeks after I got it. Its a miracle I'm still on it at all. Besides it has what it already needs. Amazing gingerbread and ICS roms both with great speed and battery life. What else do you want?

This phone still has potential. Those devs left for personal reasons. I feel confidant that we will see more devs in our forum.

By no means it was intended for it to be a complaint as I stated. I personally love my S2, my point about the post was due to the current situations of Devs leaving. It seem like there's other reasons being other than personal. And I see it more and more as I read the posts about them getting aggravated about the constant requests. My point being, if all the above including myself feel they can do better why not begin by learning. Rome wasn't built in a day and i totally agree but I don't get how the community here is so much different than in the SR forum. Again it's not a complaint but just a personal opinion.
@ AllGamer, I totally agree wit you sir... alike a lot of us noobs would love to learn the hows and whats of creating custom ROMs but as like I said on my opener I can't due to misbehaving equipment. I've read pages and pages of the software needed and downloaded as best to my knowledge. Even went as far as to allow another community person to go into my laptop and find out where my issue was. The person himself was a Dev and by no means I was told to do so or anything like that. I gave him my permission to try to help me out so I could create from scratch without any luck. What my point is that maybe we're (myself included) have lost the purpose here and have made it to where we feel its owed to us to make things our way. Then again that's my opinion.

Not only that. I just find that cm9 especially took a huge downfall once cm10 began to exist. I don't believe any time soon our devices will lack development. It's just there is so much out there to be done yet one questions "where do you even start!?" Personally once they get a stable build running of cm10 a lot of tweaks will begin getting added along with much kernel support being created. It's just a speed bump in the developer world, not a brick wall

Looking at it from that point of view I can concur. But just hate seeing good devs run out like that. And to the most part being part of same teams. Weird to me again. Maybe I'm just one of those type of individuals that gets negative vibes about certain things. Just like the fact of it being personal reasons? I don't fully think that was it alone but who knows.
I still stand by my statement about the difference in attitudes between communities. Just seem like there's more "want" to help one another. Here everything is more frowned upon. Favorite reply here is " use the search button" but I'm sure posting a link to answer the question takes about the same amount of time. Or rather yet not reply at all if its just to get in a tantrum about doing it. Maybe its just my personal beliefs. I see it posted all the time, the community is to help regardless if lazy dumb or whatever (sorry about the dumb) but its just derogatory to sum. I'm a total noon but once in a while I have questions. Rather get an I don't know that be told search button is active. Thought it was the principle of this site.
Regardless of anything, its just I see no support on the development here. Either way I'll stop my rant and continue my educational reading.

Honestly, I noticed the same thing in the SR forum almost instantly when I began reading sk8er's CM10 thread. It felt like "old xda" for me... In the future, I'm going to stick to more popular phones/Nexus devices since they generally have much better communities. That's part of the fun to our devices as gadget geeks IMO.
By the way, which devs left?
Remembering Old school Android for a minute...
I know you personally are not complaining OP, so plese nobody take no offense to any of this. I understand what you're saying and I always mod my own Rom to my liking. I had to learn to do it that way because I wouldn't bug any devs either for little personal things I liked. Just my 2 cents, but when I see threads like this, I have to think back to when I first had my Moto Cliq (big mistake there), my first Android phone, and have a bit of nostalgia. We had 2 developers, Travisjames and HandlerExploit. (props to you both if still around) That was it. The Cliq had no software support and updates were always 6+ months after other phones were receiving them, we couldn't overclock it, it was locked up tight, but somehow they provided a good user experience out of that old 1.5 Android Moto Blur. Lol! Made lemonade out of the sour lemons Moto gave us. I helped them by making some themes and learned alot about Android during this time just to give something back to the community. Everyone still begged Handler and Travis for ETA's, *****ed at them when things were going wrong, but considering they were the only 2 devs for the cliq, I always just encouraged their great work and tried to help them work through it, because those were are only two solid options for a good Rom. Whether you liked some things about it or not, they were still better than stock.
My Point in the end? That phone had basically only 2 Roms (in it's early days) for each software release that dropped. No kernels since that wasn't possible yet, and only 3-4 themes to choose from (one made by me after frustration of not finding a style I loved). Anything else had to be tweaked to your liking through trial and error, googling, or asking devs for help. That's when I learned how much hard work goes into some seemingly "Small" fixes or tweaks. Android is much bigger of a thing now, and we have so many different Roms out here to choose from. I feel lucky to be able to choose from: Sammy Roms, MIUI, AOKP, CM7/9 then 10, Paranoid, etc. and then onto mods: kernel choices, Overclocked, undervolted, different boot screens and themes (esp on MIUI/CM's), tweaks, etc. For a phone that dropped with GB I think were doing a pretty damn good job!
I know some devs will eventually leave with new devices arriving, as they have with the last 3 Android phones/2 tablets I've owned, but this community has alot to choose from... I'd personally like to say Thank You, to each and every Dev that has stuck with us, even if only for a little while. You have brough tons of choices, tons of speed, battery life, and beauty to this device. I don't know about anything but themeing myself, so I rely on all you guys to put out something hot. You never disappoint! If someone can't find a Rom/Kernel combo to fit their needs on here, they might never be happy!

It's time to upgrade then
Due to my infancy in time here I cant comment about the past on this site, "but" it still mind boggles me that at some point and time I cant contribute. I don't mind testing by no means. Being that at this point in time and due to equipment faultiness I can't do more than that. But my point is that there is a sort of aura that just don't mingle well with me. One point I seen that has mortified the crap out of me has been just the way people address others around. Like there is some sort of machismo just because he/she knows better or been around longer. Like i said maybe its just me, maybe its just my persona. Most of my posts are either checking in to report any issues with X Rom or so forth, questions or trying to help someone else with any questions that they might have as long as I'm capable of actually helping with.. With that being said, I fully understand that t the dev threads are intended for just that but why not keep them locked up other than to the people that want to test. Per say- as a form of request to be a tester or something before opening .
Just seems that the Devs get aggravated at anyone that comes in asking about small things just cuz there was no reading done what so ever. For good reason tho, its supposed to be for bug related posts, troubleshot and all of that. Maybe implement a form prior to opening the thread of any given ROM that states everything and what not works on it prior to allowing the user just go in and ask frivolous questions ( even understanding that no question is small in importance). But i see that being the main argument in the threads. Thought that was the purpose of the video? These are just my opinions. I'm just a grain of salt in all this sea.
Also would like to THANK everyone that puts forth an effort to make something out of nothing to make the t989 that much better for us.Guess it makes me a bit sensitive to see guys come up wit awesome work and then all the sudden it all falls apart. Either way that's my 2 cents. Thanks also to you guys that took the time to come in here for a read and for the input.
There will be many more devs for the t989. I've read the same s.it more than a year ago on the t959 forum. Their dev section is more "vibrant" than ever.

Funny I was damn sure thinking the same thing myself. I came from a PPC6700 forum years ago where we had a kitchen and could make our own roms which was great. Then I had an Evo, Evo3D, Epic Touch and now Galaxy 2 and I must admit this forum is lacking with rom choices. I look at the development page and see threads last reply was a week or so ago still on page 1. That would not last an hour in the old Evo forums.
I get it that developers leave because of family and personal things but think about it. If we the end user did not complain and ask for this and that which I honestly feel some of it we could do ourselves, would that not leave them to more pure developing time. Which honestly if things are running right or small things need to be fixed and can be done by others it allows the developer more time to themselves.... Jus Sayin
The helping each other out is wonderful as well but hey the I can't find a kernel or where is this rom located in a forum with maybe half a dozen developers and main threads really never leaving Page 1 and you can't find it... Helping fine spoon feeding is another and the laziness is what causes a lot of bickering. I know just give them the answer but what about you helping yourself... I hope more developers come or at least they perfect AOKP JB since thats my favorite..
Good luck developers and good luck community... rant ova!
I hope the devs don't drop out, I just got the TMobile version. $99 @ target for the s2, or $229. Makes the math kind of obvious.

Its not going to die no time soon its just the lack of interest that I fear most. Maybe at a later time or so they might get the ball rolling again but at the present it time seem a little weak. Well that's in comparison to our twin site( SR forum). Like I said before and I'll repeat again, its all about benefiting both end parties. Pops used to tell me and seem to fits well here, "one hand can't be cleaned up by itself, takes 2 to get it the way is supposed to be. " That's all my point is meant to be directed to. Not start world war 3 or nothing. Just feel like we are falling behind and its our own fault. If we have enough time to complain or address issues we also have time to help better the problem itself by addressing it and trying to solve it. Better yet, get this general threads or q&a threads just for that... I've personally seen ROMs with 400 or more pages and nothing is clarified. There's all sorts of people completely lost on steps on how to even install (flash) a certain ROM. There's guides yes but we all been to school here, we know that learning is not easy for everyone. Sh00t!!! Everyday is a learning experience. But some of us take longer than others.
Maybe its just my petpeeve to feel this way. But I know Im not alone when I say this, if there's someone that needs help and I can do it, no matter how small it is... I'll be there to do so.and if I can't help at least I'll learn something by helping that person search for the answers.

Yes. Though TDJ is on a break from what I recall.. He certainly deserves it.
