Hi!
Does anyone know about an app or a program to Blackstone that can give us this effect?

you've to buy an iphone if you want this i don't think this exist because f it was, xda's was publish it, maybe i'm false
Is not only that IPhone ZOOM I like.
what about the IPhone Browser zoom, has anyone got a solution for the HTC TOUCH HD?
No one's know?
hi everyone, i think the text zoom is possible but the browser and the picture zoom isn't, cause for the browser zoom you need to multi touch and our hd doesn't support that or am i wrong?
You'r right
PLEAS SOME1, MAKE US THE "IPHONE ZOOM" !

No ! It sucks.
It would be wonderfull someone making this iPhone text zoom, but i am still thinking no one will succed making it,or it would already be out, cuz it's a GOOD point of the iPhone !
the htc touch diamond is multi touch , not much software for the function, but im sure its possible to make the app.
Multitouch is (kind of) possible on Windows Mobile.
When you tap at two points at the same time the press is recognized in the middle. Using this you can add fake multitouch. Here's a little example how it could look like
http://www.wikifortio.com/867906/Multitouch test.py
It's written in Python so you need Python CE with TkInterhttp://pythonce.sourceforge.net/
It is far from perfect because you can only move the second finger that you pressed and it's laggy(probably because of my programming abillitys) and it does nothing more than showing colored circles where you press.
But with the right programming knowledge you could make a zoom just like in the Iphone browser.
WM does not support multi-touch.
I only said something about fake multitouch

Yesterday when playing Warcraft 2 on my HTC Touch HD, I felt a need for a DPAD cuz in big maps the camera is hard to control.
So could someone make a DPAD which is compatible with WVGAFIX3 (Dpad must be shown in the black bottom area)
This could not only be good for this game but then it will open the ability to play FPS on out TOUCH HDs in VGA mode with WVGAFIX3!
cmon people!!!!!!!!
Would love it too..
This would be awesome
Vijay is working on it.

Judging by the picture hes posted with his dpad-- hes working on a app which works in normal WVGA screen conditions at the bottom of screen.
But we need a dpad which is shown at the black bootom area of scree, when your screen resolution (with WVGAFIX3) is set to VGA(640X480)!!!!
look in the picture if you didnt understand:
the picture shows the black area and Warcraft 2 on THD
WE NEED DEVS!!!!!!
cmoon anyone, someone, please... :/
BUMP!!!!! cmooon ppl
i would love to see d-pad similar to this one from LG Arena look here:
http://www.gsmarena.com/showpic.php3?sImg=reviewsimg/lg-km900-arena-preview/sshots/gsmarena_040.jpg
it does look very neat.
A lot of us want, But no one is willing to create it...
cmoon!!!!
one hope i see its practically posiible .......
so it will be a reality soon
Just a hint: You could use something like G-Controller to use the G-Sensor as a DPAD... Tilting the HD could scroll around the map!
Don't know, if it would work well... but it's worth a try!

There are some pseudo multi-touch apps out there that mimic the effect of multi-touch:
basically if you pressed both edges of the screen windows records a keypress somewhere in the middle
so if you had a four way d-pad arrangement with a couple of fire buttons you can 'sort of' emulate multi-touch by capturing a press that registers inbetween say the up and fire button.
see here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=489147
i have even managed to reproduce this simple behaviour in a .net test app.
i also read an article where the hardware of the G1 (yes i know that not a touch HD) was multi-touch capable but the device driver for the screen was not and some clever chappy was attempting to write a driver that would give the point pressed and a radius allowing the 'pinch' style zoom gesture of the fruitPhone.
and if you google for that there are several other even more successful attempts at bringing multi-touch to the G1.
it seems that with that phone the initial limiting factor was actually the OS not supporting multi-touch
winMo also does not support multi-touch....
so this begs the question is the HD hardware capable with a little device driver / OS hacking ???????
anyone????
The game emulator only simulates multi-touch by averaging the point between your two touches. So touching the left side of the screen and the right side of the screen registers as touching in the middle of the screen.
This works for the game emulator (Morphgear is the one they've done this with) because you can make virtual game pads that have hidden buttons. So touching on the virtual up button and touching the virtual A button registers as touching in between them allowing you to have a hidden virtual button at that spot that does the up+jump action.
It's not real mutli-touch, but very well done and handy for that specific purpose.
edit: Beat me by seconds, purec0de
silf there is the search function anyway eh
I know that it is kinda possible, but you've all said "emulates" & "simulates". Thus it not true multi touch like the iphone.
Please remember this is the same guy asking if we can install OSX on the touch HD.
So far, the answer is a simple "no" (e.g.: ditto to jake_tenfloors)
Remember that the HD has a resistive screen whereas the iPhone has a capacitive screen.
There are rumours of companies developing drivers and software packages to get a true multi-touch for resistive screens, however, Windows Mobile 6 (including 6.1, 6.5) doesn't have support for multi-touch.
So unfortunately for us HD users (or Diamond or devices without hardware buttons), we'll have to make do without.
why would you want to install osx on the hd. would you not just buy an iphone or as so perfectly described in a previous post, fruitPhone.

No, however I made proof of concept software which emulates some multitouch features on any single touch screen. You can zoom in/out by pinching as well as rotate objects. It can also recognize whether you are touching with just one finger or two. So for example you can pan picture around with one finger and skip to next picture if you drag it with two fingers. This is not hw specific and works on ANY single touch device, including touchpad on your laptop and various touch screen computers.

thx in advance if u plan to post
I too wrote a limited multitouch (MT) demo but the problem was how to map it into existing programs... there are no standard event handlers for MT in current WiMo... this changes with WiMo 7.0 next year. Bottom line you can write a custom application that does a pretty good job of acting like its MT but it is a stand-alone application (read: does not integrate with HTC Album etc)
Please post this multitouch Demos... it would be realy nice to test it

i know that why i ask for any one to make a smart program!!!i think that program save the 1st touch then go to the second and x2 the middle kinda complicated
BUT SHOULD WORK
To my knowledge, some apps actually already use this technique. When you press two points on a screen, it takes the coordinates exactly in the middle and "presses" that. It doesn't work with a screen full of buttons though, as there might be another button where the "dummy" press occurs.

Yeah, you're getting a bit hyped there. Perhaps its time for you to get another phone?
Anyway, there was a GBA emulator around which used that, since you wouldn't be able to press both movement and something else at the same time. I have no idea where it is though - was months ago I saw it.
jea got this GBA prog but never played on touchscreen, opera with multitouch would be very fine, but the display of the xperia x1 is to small for that aktion by using fingers... thats my point of view, but i thougt that the hardkeyboard is to small to type, too. and i was wrong
so it would be a nice gag to get opera browser with multitouch function..

Hi!
Please be careful not to make people crazy about a resistive touchscreen, to become a real multitouch with a piece of software.
A resitive touchscreen like on the Xperia is not like the capacitive ones.
There is simply a physical limit.
Please get yourself a little background about these technologies.
When you press two points on a screen, it takes the coordinates exactly in the middle and "presses" that.

Angelusz is absolutely right. Nothing more nothing less!
With a resisitive touchscreen, you can sample only one "touch" at one moment in time.
It doesn't work with a screen full of buttons though, as there might be another button where the "dummy" press occurs.

I won't doubt that some tricky programmers may use the effect, to get something like a multitouch feeling, but the real UI will never behave like it does e.g. on an iphone.

thnx for the information about multitouch but can u plz think about my idea :
to make a prog that:
1.take your first touch save it while you still thouching it you touch somewhere els and "it presses the middle of them " then if you move your finger then the middle moves and the prog will chek if it is closer to the 1st point that he saved so it zoom in the first point you pressed
i know that it cant be like iphone but plzz can u try this trick?? ill be so pleased
thnxxx for helping anyway
As far as I know. and I am really sure about this.. You cant use Multi touch on the x1. like. never unless you changed the touch panel on the phone it self or something like that.
[EDIT]
You know what?? I've decided to shut up. it's a shame really that op is making such a big deal out of this crap. multitouch on resistive? ok.
now cool down a bit, otherwise You may jizz in Your pants...
problem with your idea is that, it doesnt see the first finger placement, the sensors are in the corners , so it doesn't tell where you press, but the dead center of pressure, and it counts that as one press, not two separate finger positions. That being said, there is no possible way for it to save the first press, because the first press doesn't actually exist

Click to see this picture,it may tell you something about it.:
Also
It's Not exactly on the GamePad that "You can ONLY MOVE the SECOND finger you put with your First finger FIXED!"
Just do these step by step,if you wanna understand what I mean:
1.Run this app and turn to "Gamepad" page
2.Press the left-button with a finger of your left hand
3.Press a round-button with a finger of your right hand
-Now You can only move your right-hand finger.
4.Release your left-hand finger.
5.Do as the Step 2 again.
-Now You can only move your left-hand finger.
That's all.
[Explanation]
After Releasing your first finger. The Fake Point inside would go out of the screen.
So the app knows that you have release your first finger.
And it would treat the Second Point as a New First Point.
It means that you can set a New Second Point again and move it.without releasing all your fingers!
[27,July 2010]VGA & WQVGA versions Available Now!
Features:
Picture - You can drag the picture with one finger or stylus and zoom the picture with two fingers[Pinch to Zoom]
GamePad - An On-Screen GamePad that support up to two pressed buttons!
Fact - To show how this application works inside.
Just download and run it without installing..
It may work on all WinMo with resistive screens.
need .NET CF 3.5/3.7 which I think you all know it.
Notice:
My English may be too suck to be understood.
Touch the screen with two fingers one by one but not at the same time!(You can do it quickly even it seems to be done at a time)
To zoom the picture,a gab of about 2cm between two fingers is needed when you start touching the screen!
A Chinese version of sentence for who may understand its translation better than the English version:想要缩放图片,两只手指在按下的时候必须有大约2cm的间距!
You can ONLY MOVE the SECOND finger you put with your First finger FIXED![Not exactly on the GamePad]
How it works?
See the "Fact" part of the application.
And touch the screen with two fingers(one by one).
You'll get three points:
Fixed Point - It is got when you put your First finger.
Real Point - It is truely detected by the hardware when two fingers are put.
Fake Point - where your second finger put.As a matter of fact, the hardware doesn't know anything of it.The position is worked out by the application.
How to get the Position of the second Finger?
NOTICE that when two or more fingers are put on the screen, the hardware would just get the Point in the central of shape which is made up by fingers' Positions.
So.Two fingers's positions(points) make a line. And the hardware gets the "Real Point" in the middle of the line.
Reversely think. We've got the First finger's Position and the Mid Position.
The Second Finger's Position should be in the direction opposite the First finger through the Mid Position.
PS
-This is my first post here.
-I know some members here has been developing the Multi-Touch(Dual-Touch) technology. But I had the idea of creating multi-touch application last year.
-The picture on the application written "Mobile 2.0" but not "Multi 2.0".It's a website[mobile20.com.cn] in China that make evaluations of mobile. The Chinese version of this application was released there on June 7,2010

Any plans to work on a ..?
@TangoChen Any plans to work on a system–wide pinch to zoom solution? OndraSter has been workin' on one here, but has gone on holiday. Perhaps, you two should collaborate.
It would be great if you managed to replace the HD2's resources files and fool the entire system in thinking you actually have a capacitive screen.
The DLL (or any other kind of resource files, I didn't study this in detail, but for instance, just checking the "Pinch to zoom" menu in BSB Tweaks instantly crashes the HD ! ) could then be added in cooked ROMs and simulate the official "pinch to zoom" behavior...
thanks
that's great job
Hey, I like to use multitouch to get more intuitive input on the touchscreen like to emulate a virtual ThumbStick and some buttons working on the same time.
It's easy to get multitouch working using the WindowsMessages HTC_Zooming, HTC_End_.... But now, the fingers must be set on the screen nearly at the same time or it won't work. That's fine to implement some rotation or zooming cap but it's not enough for a game...
Does anyone know how to get multitouch, like the HTCAlbum does support?
An interesting fact is that the HTCAlbum app is in the blacklist of the Pinch cap in the registry and to get the PinchToZoom-Messages you must be registered in the whitelist...
Thanks

You can usually copy out rom modules with either Cotulla's romextractor.exe or dotfred's task manager (the Depends tool-extract rom library).
DirectShow?
Hey guys
I'm sorry for the long dead time. It's really tricky 'cause I've no idea of directdraw/show on winmo? I figured out that you have to create a htcscene out of htcafe.dll and there you probably get the real multitouch-events.
Could some one send me a good tut for directdraw/show?
cheers
Got it!!!!
I got it working now!!! After spending hours, I found out how the HTCAlbum does it and I think it's the best way to do it without rewriting the whole driver and that stuff....
If anyone is interested in how to do it, i will write a sdk for .net and maybe a tut for native coding... (So if you're writeing a game... I can't wait to see multitouch ingames!!!)
For the moment I'm done, but I will soon post a sample game (some stuff like AirHockey or Pong)... (if I find time....)
Cheers
Some sample would be nice =)
Is it really something different from "HTC_Zoom_Begin" etc?
As for me, I prefer native code sample, but .net sample is ok as well.
How is this different from the multitouch already enabled on many hd2 apps? For example, fpsece, the playstation emulator has had multitouch for a long time, at least in the donators version. Is this a better implementation of multitouch?

Firsteful, there are now three approaches to get multitouch working (as far as I know). The first is the simplest, I think the multiouch skins for morphgear uses this trick. If the second finger is pressed, you get (I don't know exactly how, cause it was never an option for me...) the point in the middle, and you asign two buttons to this point.Well, It's fake multitouch, but it works.
The second option is to write the PenTrac.dll and activate MultipointDemo (or what so ever) key in the registry and send some window messages (they often abuse the standard mouseevents...)...
The last option is to use HTC_Zooming-messages and so on (in my opinion the best, cause this function is already there, so no overheat is made...). And this is what I do. But in all samples I got before (like I described in the first post of this thread...) , you needed to press both fingers at the same time. I figured out, how to avoid this problem. And that's the difference...
And in the end, I just wanted to make a really easy-to-use sdk. So that even beginners are able to get multitouch working.... I found it quite hard to start with all the p/invoke stuff or change from c# to native code. I hope I can help you with the sdk.
Here's the thread of my sdk. Feel free to leave feedback.
