Stericson's Impossible Theme: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9162RFI3
hope u enjoy this
much credit to stericson and everyone else who helped make this theme
i got the acore process error a few times. Also it doesnt feel the same since its missing xml edits. kinda takes away from the whole experiance. not a bad job of porting it though

JFv. 1.42 ADP1.1
JF just released the official version of ADP1.1 with the new features of RC33. Would the current versions of ADP1.1 themes work or is it going to be another who new redo?
I flashed over JFv1.42 and then tried to re-install a theme am now getting stuck at the G1 screen(fisrt splash). Im guessing that re-installing RC33 lite will just nullify the JFv1.42 update, right?
Im guessing theme user now have to wait for "JFv1.42 RC33 lite" in some cases???
You can remove the files which make the lite version lite by doing this:
-Go to terminal emulator
-Type
su
mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
rm -r /system/media/audio/ringtones
rm -r /system/media/audio/notifications

Thanks Jack. I am applying the RC33 lite file as we speak. I have the JFv1.42 up in the top corner. I'll let you know how that goes. I think I might have made this thread prematurely sorry mods
Edit: after loading RC33 lite back on, the recovery utility flashed back to JFv1.41. To anyone who is looking to apply a theme after the JF update, you either have to the wait or apply the commands above to make the space.
Thanks again JD, if I follow the commands above will all stock ringtones/notifications be removed?
Is 1.42 worth it? or should I wait a bit longer, it seems that as of late every two days something new comes out.... I am happy with rc33lite141 so far..
for all the lazy people who dont wanna touch terminal, I'll release a lite version of 1.42 later tonight if someone already hasnt by then

Well my only thing is the ones that were actually left in the "lite" versions were the ones I actually used. I can definitely run the commands, but I'd like to use those stock notifications. I wouldn't want to take your time away from the final build of your theme .

After you mount the image you can actually navigate to the Ringtones and notifications and delete out the ringtones you dont want and keep the ones you do.

time to ALT+W and ALT+S...then bed lol
There is a way to use default ringtones and notifications and make the JF v1.42 RC33 into a lighter weight version! Just extract the system/media/audio folder out of the JF 1.42 RC33.zip on your PC or Mac and place it in your sd card. Just remember to delete all the system/media/audio folders in the phone system itself via file manager that you don't want (or do this... go to the terminal emulator and type "su" then "mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system"
then "rm -r /system/media/audio/ringtones"
and finally "rm -r /system/media/audio/notifications") so you don't have duplicate sounds when you choose your notifications from the list.

Thanks sino8r, that makes a lot more sense now
Do the themes need to be revised for this update or will they be fine the way they are?
All I did to apply the changes in 1.42 was fastboot flash the new recovery.img and boot.img (not even sure the boot.img was needed) the only changes noted were to the recovery mode to fix adb.
I guess everyone is obsessed with the update.zip method, no one tries the easy ways.
the only thing that changed on rc33 1.42 was that a new recovery image was added to allow adb in recovery mode. my rc33 lite already had that so if you have lite you don't need to flash to 1.42
ADP themes from before will not work after upgrading to JFv1.42
Just FYI

No they will not work. They need to be rebuilt for JFv1.42.

yes you did something wrong,
you typed
rm -r /system/media/audio
it should have been:
rm -r /system/media/audio/ringtones

yeup, open the theme and navigate to /system/app and push it with adb to /system/app.
You should also be able to use the terminal. Copy it to your sdcard and open terminal
Code:
su
mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
cp /system/app/Launcher.apk Launcherold.apk
rm -r /system/app/Launcher.*
cp /sdcard/Launcher.apk /system/app
reboot
if for whatever reason that causes problems reflash your rom or boot in to the recovery console and type
Code:
mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
cp /system/app/Launcherold.apk Launcher.apk
reboot
for some reason, im haveing problems trying to get it to work, anything else i can do?
just tried to boot it up... its stuck at loading screen and loading graphics keep on flashing... nothing is done.
Users be careful when installing this theme... If it does lock your phone to the boot screen. Simply take out your micro sd card then and put it in a SD Card adapter and remove the theme, and copy a working one back on and then rename it update.zip and reboot your phone to reflash it.
can you port to 4.01.1.1 or whatever cy's newest experimental is??
This is a fix for changing volume of media while the screen is off.
from my knowledge this is a bug in all Villain ROM v5.
Step 1:
Download this file
rapidshare.com/files/393135722/hero-keypad.kl
Step 2:
Copy to SD Card and then change to Charge Mode from phone
Step 3:
from adb shell
Code:
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
Code:
cp /sdcard/hero-keypad.kl /system/usr/keylayout
Step 4:
Restart Phone
or from adb
Code:
reboot
Goodluck

YEESSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
It works. Well done that man. Superb work!
Buletproof, any chance to add option to change song by long press?
update.zip will be nice..
good work..
Very nice
There's also a file "heroc-keypad.kl" in there, which has a similar content. I renamed it and it works too. But the MENU button now doesn't activate the phone only the POWER button does and with the MENU button you can still unlock your phone.
Second the update.zip request. That's the only problem I have with Cronos 1.4.1.
Feeyo - if you can add this fix to 1.5, that'd also be cool.

Sychie, I got it working on Chronos 1.4.1 by using the adb method, although it wouldn't work until I removed some programs first (like teeter).
the update zip works great on superhero with oc kernel. Big thanks! Been missing this feature alot.
now works. i dont know why didnt before.
great!
once flashed the zip, my hero running cronos 1.4.1 freeze after system loads main screen
back to standard until I manage to have adb working :/
hi guys.. here's my second theme.. modified my first post..as always, this theme is not originally mine but was the combinations of all posted themes here and modifications with a touch of my likings... credits goes to all of them...
What's great about this?
1. the default Samsung Touchwiz30launcher can do landscape mode;
2. the notification bar is crystal clear if using live wallpaper but pure black if using any still wallpaper ;
3. application drawer is transparent..no teletubbies background wall for each icon;
4. using graydient battery icon;
5. USB connection icon is much cooler;
6. set homepage by setting the page with the HOME icon in which page you want;
7. and lastly, I don't have paypal and does not get a single penny for this
well.. screenshots...
Wallpaper
Requirements:
1. root access
2. JP6.. can also work with JPM.. not sure with other Froyo but this should, not guaranteed though...
3. busy box 1.17.x
4. terminal emulator
5. recovery 2e
6. ADW or LauncherPro or alike in case something happens in the process. you have a working launcher in short.
7. backup your files using titanium backup.. if you don't mind reinstalling them who cares lolz
8. guts.. no guts no glory..
Note: I am not responsible if this messed your phone but dang working with mine. Have your Odin and flash file ready just in case.
How to install (preparation of base theme):
1. Download all 4 files - update.zip (this update.zip is JP6 but works with JPM per testing), twframework-res.apk, TouchWiz30Launcher.apk, framework-res.apk
2. Place them at your SDCARD main folder/root folder
3. Go to recovery mode - flash the update.zip
4. wait to reboot - now you have a transparent black theme of scheichuwe
Note: if you like scheichuwe's theme then stop here. end of the steps.. if you like my modification then proceed with the next steps.
How to install my modifications:
1. read all the steps carefully.
2. open your terminal emulator
3. type su then hit enter
4. type mount -o remount,rw / system then hit enter.
5. type cp -f sdcard/TouchWiz30Launcher.apk system/app then hit enter
6. type rm system/app/TouchWiz30Launcher.odex then hit enter
7. type sync then hit enter
8. type reboot then hit enter
9. open your terminal emulator
10. type su then hit enter
11. type mount -o remount,rw / system then hit enter.
12. type cp -f sdcard/twframework-res.apk system/framework then hit enter
13. type sync then hit enter
14. type reboot then hit enter
15. open your terminal emulator
16. type su then hit enter
17. type mount -o remount,rw / system then hit enter.
18. type cp -f sdcard/framework-res.apk system/app then hit enter
19. type sync then hit enter
20. type reboot then hit enter
Notes: if it said space is full, just do mount -o remount,rw / system again then proceed.
FAQ :
1. Can I do all the steps immediately then skip those sync reboot?
Answer : it is up to you... my experience was when I did that I end up reflashing my phone...
2. Do I do request?
Answer : unfortunately no... I apologize to Lelf and [email protected] with my first post because I don't have the time now due to a lot of time demands at work

how do you get a full transparent notification's scroll bar and backgroud of TW?
Can you provide a sys_stat_upload white? The one in your apk it's black and the download stat white
Does it support JPD? THX
My first post on Nexus forums..!!! This post aims to collect all mods that are working on stock 4.2 In order to use them, you need to deodex you roms. The good news is that this job was done already. I deodexed system/app folder myself and used system/framework files from bigxie's rom cause I had trouble deodexing core file in that folder. I will go through a very brief tutorial - everybody can do this!!!
You are very welcome to post links for more mods at this thread so I can add it here in order for everybody to be aware off.
=======================================================================================================
Part 1 - Pushing Deodexed Files To System
1. You must be rooted, have busy box installed and have USB Debuggind ON under Developer Options in Settings
2. Extract done_app and done_frame folders from here on your PC and copy/paste them on your SD Card
3. You need to install android-sdk on your PC and set it up. It will be installed in c:\program files or c:\program files (x86) depending on what system you have (32-64bit)
4. Once that done open command promt and taking for example you have a 64-bit system. Please note that code must be done as follows. If you can't tell if there's a space between words, copy/paste code on a notepad for you to see it more clearly
cd..
cd.. (this will bring you to c:\> line)
cd program files (x86)
cd android
cd android-sdk
cd platform-tools
adb shell (wait a second for adb to start)
su
stop
mount -o rw,remount /system/ /system/
cp /sdcard/done_app/* /system/app/
rm /system/app/*.odex
cp /sdcard/done_frame/* /system/framework/
rm /system/framework/*.odex
mount -o ro,remount /system/ /system/
reboot
Your rom is now deodexed!!! Note that during the procedure you must not touch your phone.

Part 2 - Mods working on stock JB 4.2 - TESTED!
You must have CWM or TWRP recovery installed
1. Android 4.2 Quick Settings & Lockscreen Widgets Mods
2. White Navbar Mods 24dpi/28dpi/32dpi/36dpi
3. Blue Navbar Mods 24dpi/28dpi/32dpi/36dpi
4. Rotation Lock in Quick Settings / Screen Lock button to Statusbar
5. Lockscreen Policy - Disable Android 4.2 Lockscreen Widgets, Camera
Compatibility:
** 1+2 YES
** 1+3 YES
** 4 is not compatible with 1, 2 and 3 cause the framework-res.apk is different. You won't get a bootloop or anything, it's just that one mod erases the other BUT you can have only the "volume rocker wake" mod without the rotation lock. There's a link on developer's thread
** 5 is compatible with all
