I have a HTC touch with Bell. I flashed NFSFAN's WM6.5 onto it. I didn't use a cab, mostly because I couldn't figure out which one or how to....
When I power on my phone I get to the today screen and I can't do a thing. It shows the correct time, and flashed the green light... I can see the options, and if I press on the screen the phone vibrates.
What did I miss? Oh ya, and how do I turn off the vibrate on screen press when I do get this working?
Thanks!!
On subsequent restarts I find that I am sometimes unable to even get to the today screen and connecting to the PC is impossible.
Hope that helps explain it.
The question is, what did you flash it WITH!?

did you update the radio first?
did you hard reset after you flashed?
did you flash this ROM via activesync or bootloader mode?
Detroit Doug
Yes I think I did update the Radio. I used the current bell version from HTC. (Radio Version 3.42.50)
Yes I have hard reset the phone. I noticed that it froze once after a hard reset and had replaced the start with customization. I left it for 10 minutes but nothing had changed so I reset it.
I entered bootloader on my phone, plugged in the usb cable then ran the loader on the pc and waited for that to complete.

OK, there is an issue with the flash from what it sounds and bootloader is done from the SD card NOT from a USB cable, try this...
- Using the original SD Card that came with the phone (or any SD card under 2GB in size) Format your SD card making sure it FAT32
- Copy the RUU_signed.nbh file over to the that card and rename it VOGUIMG.nbh
- Then flash via bootloader power+camera+stylus, it will pull the image to flash from your SD card automatically
- wait and then hard reset (red+green+stylus) after customizations/autotun occurs
then try using the phone, hopefully that will take care of the issue

Shouldn't be an issue flashing from bootloader mode via PC cable. Bootloader allows the computer to reckonize your phone as a usb device.
The 6.5. ROM is still a custom ROM, so the question is have you unlocked your phone?
If not unlock using imcokeman's 2.31 unlocker first, then follow dd's instructions.

Yeah the "I think " part got to me as well until I remember responding to a different thread of his helping him along in getting started to flash and in that one he had unlocked as was on his 3rd ROM by the end of it LOL so I believe he has successfully unlocked his phone, just the issue may be corruption in the flash of the 6.5 WinMO ROM
Detroit Doug
Ok. I will have to find my smaller card. All I have here is a 4GB one.
Thanks jmitr and Detroit Doug! I will try moving the file to the card. It will take me a few days to get my smaller card as I left it at the office.
Any luck yet? let us know how it worked out for you...
Detroit Doug
I will. I turned my office upsidedown looking for that little card... and it was at home by my laptop the whole time.
I have it now, and actually just came online to get the file names I need. I will keep you updated.
Well... that was a little different. I didn't get the customization the first run after the flash. I did however get it immediately after the hard reset.
So far (and about 10 min.) everything is looking good!
I will play with it for a while and let you know.

Hi,
Well after 2 phones and countless upgrades, I finally bricked my hermes! I have read countless threads and the WIKI but I don't see my problem anywhere. When I soft reset my phone, it sticks at the Logo Screen(AT&T in my case). If I try to go to bootloader, it will go to boot loader screan(tri-color) for about 2-3 seconds then it goes to the loading screen that you see when you are upgrading. I have 1.01 bootloader.
I have cid unlocked and upgrading many times, but at last, I am totally stumped. Can someone point me in the right direction! Thanks
try to upgrade a complete rom from a microsd card. You can try one with SPL 1.01 if possible from your original carier. You know waht to do: you rename the nbh file to HERMIMG.nbh and put it in a empty card. with the card in the slot produce the tri-color mode.

It's a shame that you did not do the reading of countless threads and the WIKI BEFORE updating your phone, why didn't you have HARDSPL 2.10 on there?
Check the thread in my sig or/and look on the WIKI for the table that Pof kindly put together it should point you to the answer you need. It's not Black 3.01 fault so I wouldn't have mentioned it in the heading as it will insult those people responsible for Black 3.01.
Thanks everyone, I believe I am back on the right track....it seems that my microSD card was causing my phone to kick out of bootloader mode. Not sure why but I took the card out and I am now flashing back.
Thanks for all the help!!! Knowledge is power!

Thank U.
Press (at the same time) the Power Button, The OK Button on the left side and the reset button with the pen. Should go into Bootloader.
When you flash, you have to tell it what bootloader you are using as it won't autodetect.
Nothing goes right!!!!!

It was flashed for Langauge change and Update to WM2006, used DEV_HERMES_WWE_WM6 rom. Using olipro boot loader via filemanager and using sd card for flashing. It flashed 100% and after reset nothing.... No Boot Mode, No KITL, No Light when USB / Charger insert. But without battery the signal light blink RED. thats the story. Cant get any report via mtty cause I cant bring it in to boot mode.
Any help would be appriciable.

I flashed my phone a couple of weeks ago with Schaps 4.31 Rom. It has been working a treat ! This is the first time I flashed a phone and I followed MR.Vanx instructions.
All was working fine untill yesterday. I had my 3rd freeze of the day. Oh well I thought, thats 3 in 2 weeks never mind must just be having a bad day.
It got worse. I soft reset my phone and now all I get is the Olipro bootloader 3 colour screen ! So I took the battery out and left it for 2 hrs. Still the same.
Whats wrong with it ?
Does this happen like that ?
Can I recover or do I need to flash again or is this permanent ?

<Sarcasm mode> Thanks. Like I never thought to look there. </Sarcasm mode>
I was more interested in the other questions I asked ... IE is this normal after 2 weeks operation ? etc
no, shouldnt happen like that. try putting the .nbh file on a sd card after formatting fat 32. rename to hermimg.nbh then put in phone. if you're in bootloader it should automatically start the flash. this should get you out of bootloader and back into windows. make sur ebattery is more than 50% by putting on to charge for awhile first. hope this helps. Cheers.
Thanks for the response.
I think I can do it via USB as usual I am just waiting for the phone to charge a bit first. Obviously with no OS I have no idea how much battery % it has !! DOH !
Oh well I will post back for those interested once I know if it is goign to work or not !
Previously been stuck on bootloader before, and I just flashed a different ROM via USB. This worked fine for me. Would also try what ultramag69 said previously
Suggested sd as this has become my favourite way of flashing. No chance of NASTY accidents like computer resets, someone unplugging usb or other little things t5hat seem to happen to people as they flash there precious hermes. Sorry if this sounds like a hard sell but I really believe this is the safest way to flash your device. I've even flashed below 50%... Plugged in power. Was in a rush and had no time. Its never failed while I have had bricks and glitches with the usb. And thats my two cents......
Well it just gets stranger, I waited untill the phone was fully charged. It was plugged in to PC via usb swtiched off so I could see the charge light go green. When I switched the phone on with USB connected to go to bootloader screen to reflash, it booted windows !
Its now working fine ! I did nothing except charge it.
How very dare it !
Suggest you check the device for bad blocks.
Put the device into bootloader, start mtty.exe
connect to USB and run the command "Info 8".....this will report if the device has bad blocks (three should turn up even on a normal device).
then run "task 2a" to fix any bad blocks that are evident.
It might be worth flashing a new ROM to it to overwrite any corrupted sectors, just as a precautionary measure?
Have you tried hard resetting the device by holding the 2 left and right buttons (below the screen) and then reseting with the stylus?
This will then ask if you want to reset to factory..or if you have a cooked ROM reset back to the cooked ROM?
Helped me out and then promptly re-ROM'd the thing...
Hope this helps.....

Ok had a problem today JASJAM seemed to loose phone reception has done this before , since I had the offical Telstra ROM on there for some time thought I would re-install , however stopped at 12% then was stuck on bootloader, tried the SD card method above get through the IPL , BOOTLOADER SPLASH 1&2 and EXTROM but seems to stay on GSM in the list any ideas as to what the problem maybe?
You need to loas SPL 1.01 MFG, then connect using MTTY.EXE.
after issueing:
USB>task 32 (you will get)
Level = 0 (now issue)
USB>set 14 0
USB>task 8
p.s. if you have other than SPL 1.01 MFG, you may need to use set 16 0 or other value. Do search.
Now the device should boot, if it does not:
Press the soft keys (the ones below CONTACTS and CALENDAR) together with the RESET. The device should go through installing windows procedure.
Good luck.
Simple.
Alright, I unlocked my htc vogue with the coke unlocker, everything went dandy, but then instead of upgrading the rom to sprints updated one I went straight to upgrading to 6.5 without updating my radio to 3 something something. Same exact thing happened to me last night...here's what I did:
1. Download the 3.42.30 Radio ROM from post #17 in this thread; http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35254&highlight=vogue+radio&page=2
2. Copy the VOGUIMG.nbh file on to a formated non HD MicroSD memory card

4. Follow on screen instructions

Copy all of your files from your mempry card to your PC temporarily, then format your card...just to be safe. Once you fix your phone, make sure you remove the VOGUIMG.nbh file from the card and copy your files back on to it.

Nice! It's a ***** when you thing you bricked your phone, but there's always a way out of it. Enjoy.
Hello,
I am using a Sprint TP2 and just tried changing my ROM from Stock to Energy Leo ROM.
I installed the Hard SPL Unlocker and it seemed to work fine. I then went to flash the new ROM and it seemed to load fine, but upon restarting, it locked on the "Touch Pro2" startup screen.
I am thinking that I probably installed the GSM version of the new ROM, so I will need to install the CDMA version.
I am able to get to the bootloader screen and when I go to directly change the ROM from the GSM version to the CDMA version, the RUU seems to be working, appears to be able to access my phone, and starts the install.
My phone switches to the progress bar screen BUT both my PC and my phone stay at 0% until my PC displays an error message (#262).
What do I do to either re-install the Sprint Stock ROM or get my phone to change to the CDMA version of the ROM??
HELP!!!!
Thanks so much.
Why can't you get the device into bootloader mode?
I read a post about someone else that did the same thing, flash gsm rom to cdma device, and he put his device into bootloader and flashed the cdma rom and everything was back to normal.
I have to try a couple times to get to bootloader mode because its hard to hold down the power button, vol down and press the stylus reset, sometimes i get a friend to help and works out fine.
I'm able to get the device into Bootloader mode but it doesn't do anything when I use the RUU (my phone is attached to my PC via usb), it stays at 0% and then comes up with an error. I'm going to try to see if I can load the new ROM from my micro SD card.... let's hope it works...
UPDATE:
I put the new ROM nbh file onto my micro sd card and put it into my phone and entered bootloader, it flashed a quick screen that said "Loading" and then "No image file found!" and then returned to the bootloader screen. What can I do???
More info:
My bootloader screen reads:
RHOD400 32M SS_BC
SPL-0.63.0000
MicroP(LED) 0x0A
MicroP(Key) 0x04
TURBO HW/TURBO SW
TP MFG DATA

Hello, just wondering if anyone was able to help me. This thread has had many views but no suggestions. Anything is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
Thank so much!
When you flashed via microSD, did you name the ROM file rhodimg.nbh? It has to be named rhodimg.nbh in order to be detected by the SPL.
Yes, I did make sure that the file was titled that. I'm beginning to think that my phone isn't correctly unlocked, so if that's the case, is there any way of applying Hard-SPL via a Micro SD card?
Did the same mistake, and was also having problems to fix, in my case what was wrong was the card was formated FAT instead of FAT32, after reformat/recopied the CORRECT version of LEO and renamed to RHODIMG.nbh/ Volume Down + Power it worked perfectly!
Hope it helps!
SO CLOSE!! I re-formatted my Micro SD card to FAT-32 and re-inserted the card and loaded my phone into Bootloader and it stayed on the white "Loading" screen with blue letters!!!! GRR!!!! Any ideas? Where can I find a ".nbh" file for the Hard-SPL? Maybe I didn't unlock it correctly??

Yeah, looking at your bootloader readout that you posted in the third post, I now see that you don't appear to have HardSPL on your device. As far as I know, there's no way to apply HardSPL without being able to boot into Windows Mobile, since HardSPL needs a SSPL to flash it. It seems you should flash back the stock ROM, but unfortunately the stock ROM doesn't seem to exist as an official, signed download. I'm not sure what else you can do to unlock with HardSPL, other than wait for the Sprint 6.5 ROM update (expected by end of Q1 2010).

If it says something like "rebuilt", "reconstructed", or anything that indicates that it was dumped off the phone and rebuilt, then no. See, you need a signed ROM, and dumping a stock ROM off a device and rebuilding it breaks the signature on the ROM, so a stock SPL won't flash it.
vol dn pwr on
all you have to do is hold volume dwn then power on.

Well I just flashed my first ROM and thought I followed everything to the letter. I ran HardSPL, it completed, and I verified that it was done in the bootloader screen. Need more info like who is your carrier...the problem you are describing sounds like you flashed a gsm rom (t-mobile and at&t) to a cdma phone (sprint and verizon). If that is the case you need to flash back to stock rom then grab the energy rom from here for the CDMA phone
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=86489
hopefully you did not brick your phone...good luck
Seems like you've done everything right. Just note that first time flashes usually take a while to load on the first boot before customization procedures.
If the phone doesn't budge, try a hard reset. To Hard reset your phone, Turn it completely off (remove and reinsert battery if needed), then hold down the Send and End and the power button. It should load the SPL and then ask you if you want to Hard Reset, press the Volume Up key to accept.
If the Hard Reset doesn't work, download a stock ROM, and flash that via the bootloader. If the stock ROM works, try to flash the Energy ROM again.
To enter the bootloader, Hold down the Volume Down key while turning on your phone. or hold it down and while pressing the reset button.
Hopefully you can get this sorted.

That could be the case, but he sucessfully flashed a HardSPL, so he could just enter the bootloader and flash his stock ROM to continue operation of the phone.
When he responds about who his carrier is and which TP2 he has, we'll go from there.

Yes, with HardSPL you can flash the nbh file from the microSD card, but I recommend you flash using your PC via USB. It would save you the hassle of trying to find and extract the NBH.
Well it wouldn't update via the PC because it wouldn't connect. I did find and rename the nbh file and put it on another sd card. It is updating now with the stock ROM. Then its back to the drawing board if this works.
Thank - I'll update and give other noob idiots my story when all is good. (still having fingers crossed)

My problem was definitely the wrong ROM version.
For anyone else as dumb as me, this is what my problem was...
Everything seemed to flash ok originally (the program said it was successful). Then it restarted and the phone would not go past the "Touch Pro2) screen. There was nothing else on the screen.
and here is what I did to fix it...
Got another SD card and formated to fat32.
Extracted the proper original ROM.exe file using winrar.
Placed the .ngh file in the root of the card with the name rhodimg.nbh
Insert the sd card in the phone and restart into the bootloader screen
When it asked if I wanted to load the ROM, I of course did what it said
When it finished I removed the sd card and pressed the reset button
It took a while but everything loaded ok.
Then I started over with the ROM I wanted (this time using the correct CDMA version). Again everything seemed to go ok. This time when it rebooted, on the "touch pro2" boot screen there was additional text at the bottom indicating the cooked ROM I installed.
Thank you to everyone who helped me understand what I did wrong and I hope noone else is as dumb as me, but if you are there is hope.
Thanks
Steve

No biggie, you're very welcome. We all are noobs at some point of our existance and we all make mistakes. I'm just glad you were able to learn from yours and recover, in addition to pointing out to others what went wrong. Have fun with your new ROM.

Actually as paperweight's go, it's a damn sexy one
But I would prefer a working phone any day
I do have to say that I am drooling at the possibilities of this phone. Just have to take things a little slower.
I did the same thing basically. I tried a gsm rom on my us cellular phone. didnt know that they conflict at that point.
what rom do i need to flash to get my phone back?
Here is a good place to start...

I am very happy with the Energy Rom's, but that is a whole different discussion.
Or you can go back to the stock ROM which you can get at ppcgeeks also.

Well I just flashed my first ROM and thought I followed everything to the letter. I ran HardSPL, it completed, and I verified that it was done in the bootloader screen. Then I downloaded Energy 23544 with MaxManila Mar 09. Sync'ed with WMDC, Ran Custom RUU, It says it flashed ok. Now it just sits at the "Toch Pro2" startup screen. Can anyone tell me what I missed and if there is anyway to fix it?
Thanks

hit the red reset button on the right. mine did that also, and that is what I did, and it came back up without a problem.
STOCK ROM
FYI, the stock ROM, original ship ROM can be found here at the htc mobile phone product support page. It comes as an *.exe and you double click once in the bootloader screen and it works
I had a problem where I flashed with a new rom, and it went to the white screen. I had to flash with the original ROM and it came back to life! yay.
