Sim unlock problems - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

I have an SPV M5000 on orange and want to stick a t-mobile sim into it. But I downloaded the unlock software and removed my sim put it into bootloader and did the radio update. It does indeed come back with 0.0.0.
I then copied the unlocker file to my device in personal folder enabled radio and ran it from filemanager, when the sucess screen came up i clicked ok and then soft reset the device and let it boot. then i removed the battery and put my t-mobile sim in. But on re-boot it just keeps saying invalid or no sim on the phone screen. The current ROM on the device is windows mobile 5 orange do i need to change that first ???

service provider unlock code

I have used the unlocking program available here to unlock my Spv M2000 on Orange. It said it was successful then asked for unlock code which i entered as 00000000. It then asks for the service provider unlock code, i have tried the following to no avail: "00000000" "0000" "1111" and leaving the space blank. Can any one help?
I have the exact same problem.
Please help
Exactly same problem here on M2000 on Orange UK.
They've sent it to technical who are no help, am I best to just upload the ROM files to one of these services and just pay for it to be unlocked?????/
Please advise ASAP as I urgently need the PDA!
I don't think a rom update will reset the lock code
Sorted it .... v1.6 of the xda unlock software solves this problem.
I got the same problem on orange m2000. I have tried v1.6 as well but it was still not working. any helps? Cheers!
I did run it three or four times and it said it had failed - but hadn't - when I put the SIM back in it was fine.
Did u mean u have done the unlock without put in a sim card?
Yes,
It had locked itself, so I took the SIM card out so I could get into the file manager and use it just as a pda....
loaded v1.6 across using ActiveSync and ran it 3 times.
Job done!
Thanks mavk,
That way works great. Just got my job done a few minutes ago. Cheers man!
No worries

My SPV M5000 Hard to switch ON after Unlock.Help

I have a M5000 (ORANGE).Before unlocking, i could switch it on and off anytime and off and on anytime without waiting for an hour or 4 hours.
After Unlock, I can try to switch on the device without success. I tried everything. If i connect charger, it shows Red light only. If i remove the Battery and try after a while (30 min, sometime after two hours), it can come ON and I can use it normally.
I upgraded Boot but no Change, I Full upgraded with the latest upgrade but no chance,I load QTEK still no Chance.Battery works nice on another SPV.
What can i do???
Thanks

I think the Orange SPV M5000 comes unlocked. When I bought mine it was already unlocked and I could use the SIM of any country.
Try doing a hard reset to factory defaults. Also try synchronising with the computer as soon as it gets on and download VJBigphone or some software to fix your pc. Anyways this sounds really weird, because when i bought mine it was already unlocked. You shouldnt try to unlock an unlocked device, might result to hazardous errors.

Heh I never came accross this unlocking code thing. Cant you get the unlocking codes off the internet? Is it like some random number which you enter and after that you can use another SIM Card? I think what the software does is it enters the unlocking code for you but in this process the ROM might have been damaged due to registry modification. But i suggest you do a hard reset and go back to factory defaults and try to use the unlocking software again and again till you get it perfectly right without any of those powering up issues. I am sure it will work. lol... if i was sitting beside you right now i would have fixed it. Maybe you are skipping some essential step.

Probably YES probably NO.
I ve done quiet a number of MDA PRO using the same process with no problem. This is my first M5000, I can confirm the device was ok before unlocking.I know i did everything at my own risk.I did all types of reset. Still the same, switch on whenever it wants.

HELP! New ROM image has left me high and dry

I've just tried updating my O2 Orbit ROM to Black&Bluev3 and now can't use it on the O2 network. The SIM is working fine at the moment in my old Hermes
everything seemed to have gone fine, (I ran USPL first) but after restarting the phone won't recognise the sim - before I even had a chance to enter the pin 3 times it reported that it required the unlocking code, and then refused to accept the unlocking code once I'd got that.
So now I've got a very sleek PDA, but no phone Any idea where I can get an O2 ROM from as I can't see it listed in the Artemis list, and am I looking for a ROM or extended ROM (what is the difference anyway?)

it would be the rom mate.
Question as I have O2 orbit too and uk based.
have you tried reflashing phone not forgetting to do the USPL again first.
I had a problem where mine seemed to freeze up when I upgraded one of our and by doing this it worked fine.
worth a try what have you got to loose.
If all else fails they claim that O2 uk are goinmg to release this month but thats a way off.
Try the reinsall. BUT DONT FORGET USPL first
Hmmm.... false alarm methinks - after an hour or so the same unblocking message came up on the vario - I swapped it back and it worked first time in the new ROM imaged Orbit - so it was probably a SIM issue. BTW it seems there are no UK ROM images available for O2...
Yes there are uk o2 roms - see stickies in artemis upgrading and artemis mobile 6 forums.
you've got to laugh - why can't they just release it into tehpublic domain in the first place - it's not like anybody is going to CHOOSE and O2 ROM unless it's for a bet....
Anyway - hats off to step0011 and well done to the community - we win again!

Before you flashed your phone, did you know if your phone was SIM UNLOCK? Because no matter if you flash to different roms, if your phone is sim locked flashing your rom cannot lock or unlock your sim as far as I know.
You can flash back to a 6.1 rom and see if your phone is sim lock due that you will see that your phone ask you for the unlock code.
Ookba roms (3vo rom series 6.5) does not pop ups this message so that's why I'm telling you about flashing back to a 6.1 rom or stock rom.
I flashed back with original ROM,several times and nothing,I put back wm 6.1,6,5,and nothing.in this case,what can I do?please!!!
could be something damage in my phone?and yes my phone is unlocked for any kind of network

what does 'properly unlocked' mean ?
I say you might have unlocked the bootloader, bit the phone still has SIM lock.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire S
hmm, so you saying if i go back to the shop and get them to unlock properly, it might let me use the o2 sim???
is there anything i can do....having only a modest knowledge of these issues?
and in reply to properly...sorry i wasnt specific - i meant that when you put an o2 sim in and turn it on...it doesnt ask for a pin or code to unlock the phone??
Well did you buy it in a O2 shop? If yes, then there appears to be a problem with you handset. If you DIDN'T buy it in a O2 shop(which means any other,T-Mobile,3,etc.) Then you're out of luck because it it probably SIM locked to that carrier.
You should bring back the handset back to the shop and ask them to remove the SIM lock.
ok, so here we go...
Went to the shop and they say the phone is unlocked. When i put an o2 sim card in, it does not require a pin when the phone switches on.
It works with tmobile sim, orange, virgin just not o2....
so it is unlocked just wont take o2.....
any ideas why?
its originally a tmobile wildfire - spoken to tmobile and they say they have completly unlocked.....

do you have any other o2 sim to test it ?
you should also go and change your sim, might be rly the SIM problem ...here changing sim costs 10 bucks, i hope its free in your case.
im afraid im a step ahead - all o2 sims dont work - i had a brand new 3g sim sent out by o2 and have tried a pay as you go sim on o2 - still wont work with any o2 sim....
any ideas?

a ok, i didnt read that one... lets try to keep this on one thread. why dont you try flashing stock rom again... i mean its worth a shot... i guess you dont use any custom roms atm ? or even try flashin any custom rom, just to try it ... if it doesn't work then, well, we will see it's a very strange problem.
did you try connecting with 2g, and not 3g...
or maybe changing setting in *#*#3646#*#* then phone information, then set preffered network type... and try changing those also ... First try this, and if it doesnt help then try what i wrote above.
ok,well - had a read of your suggestion and only a slight problem with it...i am a real beginner when it comes to this so apologies but rom flash???
Also looked at the *#*# suggestion...unsure how to do that - did try typing that into the keypad on the phone part but it didn't do anything..
apologies im not up to speed..any way to simplify for me?
oh, and also someone has suggested going into the bootloader so i took out the sim and battery, put it all back in and held down volume and power. at the bootloader menu, i selected simlock. when i pressed it the following was displayed..
fat 32 init ok
open mccmnc file fail
open cid file fail
process done, reboot?
does this help explain anything??

i guess you didnt unlock via xtc clip... you should write the code that i told u on dialer pad, it should immediately open a meny, i will make photos when i come home as a more detailed guide k ?
ok, just to save you some time if you dont need to spend it - the phone was unlocked at a local shop - no idea how they did it - although im guessing badly...
i typed that code in - when i enter the final * the code just disappears and it does nothing. I did enter the code without the last * and it said mmi running but then said incorrect mmi...

oomg man i just saw, its my bad ITS NOT 3646 its 4636 .... i wrote it wrong :////
thanks - tried that and got into the phone menu. The current preferred choice is WCDMA - there are other options but nothing to suggest that an o2 sim should be blocked....

well, you should give it a go, since i dont have an idea what could possibly be wrong
ok, well have done several things.
i) master factory reset - made no difference - o2 sim still wont work
ii) tried to connect the phone to the pc but even with htc sync installed the phone wont connect to the pc
so it looks like we're stuffed here???
