I wanted a topbar similar to the one below (with or without HTC logo)
I've used Prof Yaffle's one which was identical apart from the vista logo instead of the HTC logo. The problem with it was it was causing my volume screen to change size and the bluetooth icon remained the original white one.
I've also tried the HTC Colored Topbar which was similar to the pic but messed up my opera rotation.
Any help greatly appreciated
I think your problem is that you have not installed SDCERT.CAB
opera rotation is a common bug with these new toolbars mate,
Certain ones however doesnt cause problems like Carnero Top Bar I am using at the moment.
hth
These two work for me
Install in indicated order
Thats my image and the topbar is the greek colored topbar (search it) i dont have any problems with opera rotation.

Hi there
Running Meschles Vanilla 2.0 (EXCELLENT)- just wondering if anyone out there knows of a way to change the colours in the HTC Comm Manager? Not just the black background, but also the blue and the red colours. Would like to change it more to fit into the rest of my theme.
Incidentally- if I LOVE the colours in the original Microsoft Guava theme- how could I fine out the "colour codes" (for want of a better term) to then apply to a re-coloured comm manager.
Would like to make it eg black on (guava) red!
Thanks all......
Any ideas anyone......?
Please!!...

afaik does it only change htc-home-related things...to change comm-manager icons you'll have to edit every single file.
correct me if i'm wrong with that, but i can't imagine another way to do this.
maybe you can download a comm-manager-cab (this one ? - it's the ten-button comm-manager from kaiser), extract all files and then you can try do change the pictures...
btw: there are about 90 pictures included.....happy editing

Yea, I've downloaded a 10 button Comm manager (can't remember which one), but it was screwing up my system. Slowed everything down. It would take almost 20 seconds to open the the Windows folder. The only way I could get rid of it was to hard reset. So please backup your device some kind of way before you download it just incase. Even after uninstalling it, my device was still slow.
The same problem with other app

Seems to be impossible what you would like to do. Since CommManager is 'burnt' onto the ROM, you can
a, overwrite it with your new coloured files - causing slowdown, or
b, leave it as is.
There is no third possibility.
And yes, after uninstalling or manually deleting the files with which you overwrote the original ones, the system still remains slow! (don't know why).
I'm struggling with a similar problem for a while. My ROM doesn't have HTC AudioManager built-in, so I installed it separately into Storage Card, to avoid slowndown. Then I installed Music plug-in for starting AudioManager directly from Today screen. And, althought the plug-in is selectable (WMP/AudioMan.), I can't use it for AudioManager because it can't find the prog.
The only solution would be a new or hacked plug-in version, capable of locating AudioManager, even if it's not in Wondows folder. If anybody knows such a version, please, warn me!
cheers
Never mind...Nice thought.
Thanks anyway guys

The Guava theme is my favorite as well. It looks really good the the grey icons instead of the colored ones. The B&B Comm Mgr would be perfect for this ROM but the only way to get it is to cook your own ROM. I just avoid going to the Comm Manager so I don't have to look at it much. You can change the icons and tabs on the home screen with the HTC Home Customizer software.
Hello,
I installed the 10-button comm manager from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=316107
on my HTC TyTN (with the official wm6).
Everything works fine, even after restarts, etc. But at one point (don't know what determines this point), the text on the buttons is screwed up: I only see small lines; the logos are still in order and it still works.
I suspect it has to do with the font, but I could be wrong. Is there a way to get this back to normal? (removing/installing doesn't solve it, only way I know to solve it is to perform a hard reset - which is quite drastic )
Thanks!
Jörg

i think it was in the vp 3.62 thread, but someone else complained of a messed up font. turns out it was caused by a weather plugin i believe. do u have one installed?
Yes, I also have the 6-tab home plugin installed. The font and icons have been customized with the home customizer (but weather icons are still the default ones).
But IIRC, uninstalling the 6-tab home home plugin also didn't solve the issue...
What else could I try?
(thanks for helping me out!)

Yup.
I is caused by Weatherpanel.
You have to rename/delete the 2 fonts in the weatherpanel folder, or change your weatherpanel theme to one that doesn't use those fonts.
It's a glitch caused by windows mobile defaulting to the last font used when it should default to a system font.
I'm a bit confused now... The Weatherpanel, is that that weathertab present in the 6-tab home plugin (as that is the only weatherthing I have installed)?
Where can I find those fonts that I ought to delete?
Just for test purposes, I deinstalled both the home-plugin and the comm manager, then re-installed the comm manager, but its font was still messed up.

Weatherpanel is not the same thing. I havent actually used it, so maybe GldRush can put some pics up to show u what it looks like. Ur problem could very well be being caused by something else tho.
Ha, ok...
Most likely it is the same font bug, but with another program causing the problem...

hi all I've got this annoying problem: when I start the Opera browser in portrait mode every thing works fine. When I flip the device in landscape mode the Opera goes minimazed and the dialing screen pops. If I turn it back in portrait immediately the Opera is back again. I am shure that the problem is with the colored icons on topbar because without them Opera works fine. Tried different roms and the situation is the same. Only missing file is phcanOverbmp.dll because Total Commander denied to copy it in Windows folder but still the top icon bar works fine. Is it from the missing file or is it something else? Please advice me because I hate the original monochrome topbar icons for windows mobile. Thanks in advance and Happy Holidays

Hi, i fixed this issue in my own ROM (see signature for a link).
hello,
recent i changed my top bar, after i read many threads about it. Like in the "post ur hd screens" thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=445497&page=5) i had the same problems at the beginnig, like it's said there on page 5. After some work with that, i fixed the problem, and got the colored icons. Now to my problem:
The strange thing is having normaly colored icons (like it should be) in offline-mode, but not when i connect with vodaphone.
I attached 2 pics, which show the problem. I saw in many posts, that there normally should be a colored "atenna" aswell, but whatever i do...something must be wrong, coz i never reached that destination!
i hope it'll be just a little problem and any1 can help me with that.
I had the same problem with my old top bar so I downloaded the one that I added in this post and the problem was gone
Please note that the start button changes into the HTC logo. If that is a problem for you, there is a version without the HTC logo around on the forum
Offcourse you first have to delete the old version.
thx, works fine, exepting some things, like the windows symbol and and older version of the clocksymbol
but nvm, this is quite good
This is what my main screen now looks like:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/4302943843/
Can anyone tell me how to make the slider tab transparent or indeed change in any way so that I can see the icon that it is currently resting on?
I have the pegasus clock only cab installed to make it look like this. I also have brians task bar and a font installed. other than these, I have no other cabs etc.
I have a TP2, win mo 6.5 and, as far as I know, sense 2.1, also, when I go into device version, my ROM is 1.86.261.0 (67102) WWE. Nowhere does it actually say what version of manila I have.
I have nearly got my phone how I want it and help with this would be much appreciated, thanks!
Do a search for "no curtains" cab
The no curtains cab doesn't seem to do anything for me. Is there anything else I could do?
This looks like a promising lead... http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=97345
If this would work, which cab(s) would I need? The sense UI 2.1 V3 or the basic slider - or both?
Actually, these didn't work - the basic one was the only one that did anything and that placed the translucent strip back behind the icons at the bottom and the slider tab remained opaque...
Now I have a BIG problem. I still have pegasus clock only installed and my GUI is looking poor now. however, when I try to uninstall it, it says that it was not completely removed and would i like to remove it from the list of installed programs. if I click yes, it stays in the list. Turning off then turning back on the device does nothing! I can't uninstall this program! What can I do now?
Edit again: I tried reinstalling pegasus and the soft reset just uninstalled it! Now I'm back to my original home screen, time to start over...
