First ..Yes i hace search all the excalibur and developer forum.
Problem1:I read that for voip(in my case skype)to properly work i have to edit registry so my wifi connect @ g only ,am i correct? can anybody if this is true point me the direction(read all wiki and registry not found)
Problem2:How come nobody has tweaked skype so it uses the internal speaker as somebody quoted before skype couldn't be used in public.
Tried sip config tool and i get a nasty error btw.
Wm6.1
the latest version of Fring supports the headset speaker, and it works wonderfully with Skype. I would suggest using that instead.

first I don't get what your saying ? " wifi connect @ g only
in the settings theres an option to connect to wifi only or use mobile as well either one should do fine (for me it does
second get a Bluetooth headset then go find and download "bluetooth audio router" and just activated wen you need to use skype and use bluetooth or a wired headset no way on using the internal speaker but that should solve your problem with public places....
By means of band g on the router as in band g instead of band B .
Sure the bluetooth was my first option. but i was trying to find out if anybody had figured out with a registry hack.
I like the idea using skype with skype client.
Btw fringe works the way it should.

You need to wait next Crossbow OS come out , this new OS had VOIP .
im using VOIP on Universal over UTMS
Using sjphone
http://www.sjphone.org/softphone/SJphone-PPC2003SE-303c.cab
It says 2003se,but it runs ok on wm5.
Thanks
AGEphone
I recomend AGEphone. But not cheep.AGEphone for PPC2003 is OK. And soon coming for WM5.
http://www.ageet.com/us/download.htm
Mino
Also MINO is interesting for Universal.

I use SJPhone as SIP client as too. The program works ok, also in album screen orientation. The only problem that it uses only loudspeaker for sound output.
The following applications do not work with this version:
SlingPlayer for WM5 smartphone (Can't connect)
Tornado PowerControl (OMAP errors out)
What applications don't work for you?
-TXTman can't capture sms
-AE Button Plus broke "end call" key when i remapped it to end programs
-Replacing IE_Short.lnk with task manager command causes internet explorer to open simultaneously with task manager
yeah no threaded sms programs will catch the messages. that's my only gripe right now.
So far, Blackberry Connect does not work on mine It was a major application for me, if anyone knows how to work around it in the Registry

What part of it isn't working for you? I managed to get it loaded and connected to the network. No emails seem to be coming through for me though

I've run an Application Unlock on my S620 and I've managed to install Blackberry Connect but, like you, not getting any mail.
I've given up and gone back to the German WM5 rom. After a couple restarts of the device, the blackberry connet top banner doesn't even show up on homescreen anymore!
I'll wait till rim gets their act together on WM6.
J
Hmm...I am going to give this another try.
I realized that I couldn't get emails on my device, even after putting the WM5 rom back on, because I hadn't sent a "service book" from rim's blackberry site. That did the trick. Gonna, reload WM6 and give it a shot!
J
Bah, no luck getting this thing to connect or run reliably let alone get emails...
how do i go back to my original .. windows mobile 5...
if anyone is using WM6 on the Dash...
could you please tell me if they fixed the bug that automatically changes your profile to "headset" when you connect a bluetooth handsfree headset.
and if it does change it to "headset" automatically could you please tell me if you are able to change your profile to "normal" while the bluetooth headset is still connected
Thanks in advance

Someone would have to consider that a bug first. I think more than 99% of the people using a bluetooth headset would want the phone to switch to headset profile automatically. Call me silly, but...

well yeah it would seem that way but when i have my bluetooth headset connected... sometimes i want my phone on silent/vibrate and other times i want it to play sounds, and i hate having to go and edit the headset profile manually to do this, just changing the profile would be a lot more convenient.
I use my wired headset to play music then set the profile to normal.
Does this not work the same way when using a BT headset?

no for bluetooth, you can't change your profile unless you disconnect the headset
I noticed that none of the MSN pre-installed software that was part of WM5(MSN IM, Hotmail access, etc) is on this version. When I attempt to set up my messaging to receive hotmail, I get an error stating: "could not find pmsnlauncher". I've looked around and found a download of the pocketMSN software, but it must be 'activated' for ~$20. It does mention (msn website), however, that if the software is 'pre-installed' no activation is necessary. This leads me to believe that the MSN software is simply not part of the BETA rom.
Anyone else notice this? Any thoughts?
msn is now windows live.

uhhh... tpc works just fine for me... i'm using 2.0 beta 4 of tpc, but other versions should probably work as well. make sure your phone is completely app unlocked, or you will have problems. that includes the 0000101b policy entry in the registry.
i'm the creator of tpc, so if you have questions about it feel free to message me.
does "right menu" work on WM6?
Sling player works with WM6 beta

I found this over at the sling community forum. I can confirm that it Sling player mobile is now working with the install of the DLL only cab auto install.

Hi!
Some days ago I have installed LSWS's WM6 ROM (2.0.1.1) + RADIO 1.41 to my P3600....perfect!
Now, how (using the easier way...) I can made a Phone-Call over the internet??
I must use a WiFi connection (not 3G !!) and I want call a STANDARD phone (not another voip phone!)
however....which software can I use ??
SkyPe + SkyPe Out account??
And, IF i want use the standard WM6's Phone application??
Tnks,
Axel
...please!
WengophoneMobile or Sjphone.
Bye.
XTen Softphone works ok for me.-
BR Landy.-
Well my friend use the information they have on the thread about the voip on WM6, (sorry don't remember which one but with some search you will find it...). Follow the instructions and you will get a good connection and internet calling from your dialpad. Yet this means you have to be registered with a SIP provider like voipbuster etc....
Skype also works fine, follow the instructions fro Skype site and download file for the trinity. Then install and you are set to go.
To make outgoing calls in both cases you need to have credit on the account. Also, the sound is much better through the headphones that come with the phone, I suggest to use them unless you want everyone to listen to your conversation, as in any other case the sound goes through the loudspeaker of the phone...
good luck
Hello,
I'm raising big hopes about the scheduled WM6 upgrade (i'm waiting for the official one, not t-mobile's or russian one) but in the meantime, do you know if there is an working SIP client for my s620 ?
By working, i mean that the audio is correctly routed, I don't want to use an headset.
I've tried fring, skype, bewip, gosip. I don't mind purchasing a piece of software if it work well.
Thanks
as much as i know.. the very best (for the moment) is skype..
and the headset i think it is not big deal to use..
just my opinion..
Oh, pick me! I know the answer! Me! Me! Me!
Well, if you wanna go proprietary, Skype'll do the job. But you want SIP, so that puts Skype right out. The correct answer was Fring™. Fring is a free MSN/ICQ/Skype/SIP client that claims to operate over WiFi and GPRS. I've only tested it over WiFi, and I'm doubtful that GPRS will be enough to make it work right (EDGE, maybe). Thankfully, Fring™ is free, and all you have to do is go to their web site. The entire process can even be done on your phone.
I could never get the WM6 Internet Calling app to work. Others have reported that the connection drops (although the wi-fi connection is still up) after 15 minutes. Another user and myself had the same config (aside from username/password and phone number), his worked, mine didn't.
I installed Fring and its SIP client worked as advertised. Can connect to any voip provider.
(But didn't like the fact I had to create a Fring account even if not planning to use it)

Yes, but the fact I can't have sound from earpiece is a problem...
Is there a SIP client that has been tested to work properly on the Touch HD and be able to connect to an Asterisk server (though this shouldn't require something special)?
I'm currently using Fring but I'm not very content with the way it works.
I have issues with it's user friendliness and it's connectivity.
Thank you.
SJ Phone
Try SJphone.

I got it to work with my IP PBX.
MS VOIP works nice too. Tried it today with Asterisk. Nice thing you can set it to autoselect VOIP as default as soon as your WLAN/Asterisk is connected.

Hi Everyone
The best client I have found so far is the Australian NCH SIP Client (Nice Biiig Buttons)
You can find it here: http://www.nchsoftware.com/download/index.html#portable
Not been able to find a WVGA model yet. Has anyone else??
Regards
CD (UK)
Update:
They also do a PC version with a 'Log' window. This is helpful to get it working first so that you can see what's happeng in the 'log', then emulate the same settings on your mobile
