Battery request - HTC Excalibur

I have been looking at new batteries for my dash for a couple weeks. Probably after i upgraded to ricky's kavana so i can keep my overclocks. I have searched around the forums a while and i only found one picture and i think it was of a 2400mAh battery. I dont think i want something that sticks out that far but i would like some added juice.
I would like to see pictures of the extended batteries you guys have and if you can remember where you got them. I'm looking for pictures of the back/side of the phone so i know what the new door looks like.
I have found a bunch of batteries with doors online but only one where i could tell what it looked like.
Thanks guys!

If you don't want the bulk, maybe you should check out this 1300 mAH that it fits on the factory backing and you get 35% more life on it. (seidio's statement, not mine) http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi13tmdhm.htm

yeah i saw that one, can anyone confirm this? cause it seems to good to be true... 1300mAh vs. 960mAh and they are the same size? then why do the 2000+ ones stick out so far? Also look at this concerning the 2200mAh ones here.

Now i'm really confused....
I'm really looking at the 1550mAh one like these. Anyone have a website that sell those?
I know a few people on here have one, i'm just curious of the size.

Take a look into Simplo batterys too as thats what HTC use as stock, i use a 1550mAh it's fat but can last about 4 days.
roloracer spot on about seidio as 960mAh-1300mAh is about what is quoted 35% extra, so would be good choice if you don't want an fat ass on Dash mind you i.mo makes it better to handle.

Yeah 960 to 1300 is 35%. but then why is a 2200 only rated at 20-30% more?
So that battery and cover in that picture is this one right? 1550mAh
You get 4 days out of it!? What is your usage would you say? and is it overclocked? I loved the speed of mine at 252MHz (chinese )but it was killing my battery.
I would say on average a day i would use it for talk time 20mins to an hour, sms and maybe a few mms. i get by e-mails every 5 mins. Some java games and some internet browsing (less than 30 mins) I never use wifi either. its on the 5.99 plan. you think a 1300 or 1550 would be fine?
The reason i really think i need it is because if the battery shows anything less than about 50% if i try to send or recieve e-mail or a MMS it goes blank. no shutoff sequence. I assumed this was my battery going south.

That looks like the battery Simplo, my usage is i'm heavy on Wi-Fi don't talk lots as phones not for talking Texting moderate.
This is just an example i managed to have Wi-Fi BT & playing music constantly for aprx 16 hours "I was trying to kill battery as in deplenish" don't ask why.
With regards shutoff sounds like battery especially if you have say W-FI on as the mA usage will go up @ them points.
roloracer stop looking @ her ass "bet you just saved the image" JK

ok, i think i'm leaning towards the 1550 even though i think it looks a little rediculous. I figure with my usage and it overclocked that will give me the best results. I would go with the 1300 but the price difference is just stupid i think.
any place you know of i can get one that's not ebay for $30?

I'm thinking about getting the seidio 1300 mAH battery in the next couple of weeks, 'cause mine is starting to show quick decrease. I'll comment on it, if and when I get it.

I did , saved it as desktop background jk!

I guess they have some secret technique in how they get 1300mAh out of a battery that size. I just sounds too good to be true because if that were the case would all phone manufacturers use their batteries to get the extended times?

Seidio battery
I just got a Seidio battery which is 1300 mAh's and it sits flush with the back cover, I wanted the extra battery life without increasing the size and weight of my dash, so that's why I didn't opt for a larger capacity battery. Plus I have noticed better battery life though I cant give you a specific percentage of significance.

nobody said it was the same size as the factory battery, it's just thick enough to still fit in the factory back.

Yeah but from the looks of it, the 1550 sticks out almost twice as far.
Though, with the increased cost I have no reason to doubt that is is a better made battery.
I'm just wondering how much of a difference that extra 250mAh will make in the long run?

i use 2200mah battery that sticks out from the back about 3/16" of an inch. at 20% battery life left, i wanted to kill it to give it a full charge. it took over 6 hours making calls, running programs, surfing the net, wifi, media playing, gaming. it was frustrating trying to get it to die! in a way it was great! haha

only 3/16th of an inch?
that looks like about what stylez's looks like... hmm, might be looking at that now. You think there is a way you can get a picture of it?

By my measurement, this battery cover is about 1/4" thicker than the stock battery cover. And I can attest that this battery is "hard to kill", and inexpensive. I bought mine on ebay (and older auction, but the same product):
http://bit.ly/11Z1u1
Here's a picture (courtesy of jdoggraz):
http://bit.ly/10J7Z
It's thicker, but not so bad. I still carry it in my front pant pocket. I tend to use both this and a smaller (w/ stock cover). The stock battery will get me through most days. I always put in the thick battery when I'm traveling, and more reliant on my phone. Day to day, I probably use the two batteries about 50/50.

Thats the exact same one I got, and from the same company too. Mine is plastic (not rubberized) and it does scratch easily.
The battery is the bomb. I get about 24 hours off a typical charge and Im a heavy user, better than off the 6 to 8 hours off the stock batt.
The larger back does make the phone easier to hold while texting, the added size does not bother me at all.
PS: their customer service is good but it took over a month to ship to my house (far west chicago), I dont know if its the company or UPS's fault. Just a heads up.

The battery is the same, I'm less sure about the cover. So I can only vouch for the battery, not the cover.
[email of seller removed] My cover is, to my eyes, rubberized, in that it matches pretty well the rest of the Dash back.
I'd contact any possible seller and ask for some additional photos.
PM me if you want more details.
Good luck!

Atrix Mugen 4800Mah Review (56k/dail up death)

Please let me say, I failed english. Probably all that time I skipped english probably would have served me well....Had I attended, so be gentle on this guy. If this made you laugh, lol, "wow", that's neat, but if this helped you in anyway toss a thank post my way.
Hi it's been approximately 2 weeks since I received this battery. I can mostly say great things about this battery. Lets take a look at this monster, before I can say battery stats this, battery stats that.
I often Google how the extended batteries are "huge". I've SEEN extended batteries, none like Mugen though. Most of them are bigger, this thing really uses the word "Extended". First thoughts make me feel like this makes the phone x2 the original thickness. it feels hefty in the hand, and this makes for a constant reminder that the phone is in your pocket. I cant forget that this brick is in my pocket, but it makes it all that much more dramatic when it hits the concrete.....
I can say now having this battery installed on my phone is more than just extra juice, it makes for extra grip with this large backing. I'm sure a lot of people probably don't have extended batteries, so I'll just side-by-side a series of pictures so you can see.... how big it is.

Now that you see what it looks like, I'll give you my apparent opinion, its big... and there's more to that than just being big! (Or at least with "our" phones.)
This phone has one of the only biometric scanners that I know of, but it becomes somewhat a hassle with Motorola's choice battery location. Its not something I fret about, considering I don't use the finger scanner. I have tried it with this battery, it makes it awkward to use but not impossible.
Docks, another thing this phone was craftily shelved as. The phone with the @ss loads of docks, more than others, non with this battery will it fit... All of these normal Motorola docks are 'ment for the phone with the stock battery. When you want to dock the phone often, you pretty-much need to keep the stock battery and its back plate.
Cases as we know it are plenty and many far from few with this phone. I've seen more than a dozen cases with this phone. But I have yet to see a battery this "great", there is the problem. None of cases will fit with the Mugen battery! But this isn't a problem with me, I often battery pull from rom flashing anyways.
Lets get to the battery stats, and how it plays with a couple ROMS!... But 1 problem remains, I cannot get the android OS to condition the stats into it. So it majorically says 1% of the poor battery's life. With the extended battery, dont trust all of the OS stats, they dont depict full time ORRR accurate time.
CM7-Beta, Faux 1.3Ghz.
With my current setup on the OEM battery.
On Battery 9Hr:45Min
Voice calls 56% 3Hr:57Min
Phone Idle 18% 8Hr:57Min
Display: 16% 55Min
Mobi.mgeek.tunnybrowser 4% CPU/Total 42Min/9Min
Cell Standby 9Hr:42Min
CM7-Beta, Faux 1.3Ghz. (Mugen 4800Mah)
This setup like before but only the mugen battery changed here. The battery life off this battery makes it so I can shoot higher than 50+ hours, with my current use time. Calibration of the battery is not as easy as "Battery Calibration" when I used, it only shows 1% for most the time.... I could have sworn after this, I get better battery yet as I have tried this method.
Charge, turn off, pull battery, charge, pull battery, charge, untill the battery is surely full. Now from 4.206v down to 3.615v as we talk im currently trying to charge while on from 3.600~ maybe getting correct battery stats.
On Battery 59Hour~ (aprx, hard without OS giving correct stats.)
Voice Calls 44% 6Hr:43Min
Phone Idle 22% 22Hr:8Min
Display 20% 2Hr:33Min
Cell Standby 5% 1Day:1Hr:41Min
There was a screen shot for 57hours unplugged, but it continued till 59hours and shut off. It still does the 1% stats. from full battery, wipe stats, till here.
Later I want to try Froyo based roms, and see if I can break these records. (on froyo I got 6+hours of talk time, with bluetooth.) that's pretty good IMO. Mainly, just so I can see for myself.
Now for my conclusion....?
The phone is great on battery, if you let it. The battery gives more than double life! I like it, and all of it's size battery, and capacity! It just might be easier to give pros/cons.
Pros:
Lots of battery life, more than double
No annoying battery swapping
Size/Weight to those who like it
Cons:
Size/Weight to those who hate it.
Finger scanner hard to access
cases no longer fit it
I love this battery, and it's completely replaced all my oem batteries. No longer shall I battery swap. Besides how can you work a weekend or more and not use a charger.... Whilst usage like mine or better? You cant, only with Mugen's battery! You need one, more than need, you want one! I'll update with calibrated stats, vs max charge and drain to 1%-0%?
Battery
Reserved for OP
Ill compare stats vs OEM and this battery (Calibrated) But I'll try this with running netflix as a constant. Be patient, wont be long from now.

No but I'd suggest
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BH5X-Batter...376966?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a65952786
And for those who wanna know, ebay batteries are (from china) are garbage. I've owned alot of them, they lose capacity quickly and become buggy.
And if you dont believe me, try this...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-Atrix-4G...408011?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3368ab978b
I bet for less than 5 months of swapping batteries, and when their back plates break... Less capacity, and then become nothing more than mere paper weights, (should they not explode) cruddy batteries. Remember, cheap batteries off eBay are usually not rated for their "quoted" Mah! My 2800Mah battery from eBay lasted almost twice as long for about 1-2 weeks. Then no longer, about equal to original after a month. (And I purchased 4 of them) and 2 of them I had to return 2 of them because they DID NOT CHARGE. Now if you were planning eBay batteries, and wanted to make sure you had a weekend away from the charger, don't rely on eBay batteries from Chinese outfits making 90% profit off their less than 1$ production/labor costs.

Yer, that's about the life of my stock battery too, though for hiking trips etc imagine the uptime I'd get with an extended one (-:
This 4800mah seems to be the perfect battery for all the problems I was facing with the original motorola battery. But after seeing an youtube video and some images about it...whoooowww!!! This battery is really large. The Atrix becomes a really large and heavy phone.
Because of that, this is really not a good battery for daily use. I think it could be a good solution if you are going camping without electricity nearby for a whole weekend and then you need an extra battery. Otherwise i think it is really not a good solution.
My choice was this pack: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/220799408011?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
I'll keep using my original motorola battery and if needed I still have 2 x 3500 mah batteries (they also need special cover) plus a battery charger. They are smaller than 4800mha but even though larger than the original one. The price was really good and I'm totally satisfied with it.

Well when you see those battery stats, whats your talk time? It looked like you idled forever, and what rom/kernel/etc are you running. That would makes a big difference, Froyo(stock) vs alien faux 1.3 can differ battery greatly.

Talk time was several hours. Lots and lots of texting going on. About 45 mins of netflix. about three hours of the drag racing game. 10 mins or so of browsing. It looks like it was idle forever because thats over the course of 3 days.
hahahahahahahahahahahahhahaha thats huge
Will it fit in the car dock with this battery? just kidding - I think I know the answer to that!
Reference to the 3500mAh batteries, I bought one just like that from Deals Extreme, after a few charge cycles it gave me a consistent uptime of a bit less than the stock battery, for the price they are good spare batteries, but having to put a large back cover on for less performance than a stock battery really sucks for everyday life, I'd spend the extra to get another stock battery if you need one for everyday.
As for battery life, I'm running stock ROM, just rooted, search around this forum, lots of threads about getting 2-3x the uptime from a stock battery.

Near full of GSM coverage and just few hours of screen on ("Screen on" is near always OFF) is not what you have wrote us.
- A lot of texting with Screen off? You are God!
- 45min of watching video on netflix with Screen off? You are more than God!
- three hours of race game with Screen off?.......
Summary: (theorical) 3 hours of talk (much of GSM), 45 min videos (sound+screen), 3 hours of game (sound+screen), 1 hour (total) of texting over 3 days (GSM+display): 5 hours of "Screen ON" over 72 hours are more then you 3-4% if you try to sum the "ticks" of "Screen on".
Theorically every 10-12 hours the battery is automatically drained of about 10% even if the phone is in Airplane mode and with 200Mhz of clock (with SetCPU), so in 72 hours the battery should be less then 50% (I suppose 30%) even in Airplane mode.

Yeah, Mugen makes quality batteries... It is not some 10$ ****
Urghh, all that extra thickness on the phone and expense for an extra half days usage (according to the real world usage stated on the youtube video).
I've got it and it's more than doubled my phone's life... with Data and auto sync always on.
It's more like a 4200 mah battery.
I get about 20 hours with Data, auto sync & Bluetooth always on
Wifi is on for about 10 - 12 hours a day also.
I got 65 Hours on a single charge with data off the whole time.
I had wifi on for about a third of the time.

It's more like a 4200 mah battery.
I get about 20 hours with Data, auto sync & Bluetooth always on
Wifi is on for about 10 - 12 hours a day also.
I got 65 Hours on a single charge with data off the whole time.
I had wifi on for about a third of the time.

screen on time ? Thats important... Im getting 5 hours with genuine 2000mah from samsung. Im considering buying this battery, but from my experience third party batteries are usually crap(momax for example), and this one is 70 euro. I will buy it only if it really is full 3200 mah. So I am waiting for some kind of test.
Mugen are the only third party battery I trust, Had one of their batteries in my old HTC Hero and it was fantastic, lasted me 4+days on a single charge (I could stretch it to 6 days with data/wifi off and just texts and calls).
I just have to 'lol' at people saying "ooooh its so expensive compared to other ones!!" and "It will blow up your phone!!!111!!!1!"
Its expensive because its not cheap nasty [email protected] like 99% of all the other aftermarket batteries. It may not be the full 3200mAh but based on my experience with the HTC Hero version I wouldn't be surprised if it was still 3000+
It wont blow up the phone, its Mugen.
A google for 'Mugen Battery Review' is all people need to do to find out how highly Mugen is rated

Momaxes is certainly not crap, Tids2k already measured the capacity of the extended Expower to be right on the money, 2680mah out of the rated 2700mah. At the very least it's better then the spider-foot/adinda/oem extended batteries (Rating 3200mah, real cap 2400mah).
Cover is not confidence inspiring though, I have to admit. It HAS survived a couple of drops before though.
On the other hand, nobody seems to have tested the Mugen for total cap yet. Holding on my purchase until someone does.
Watching that video of the increased phone thickness, even this phone is thinner
I think it's better to have 2 or three genuine samsung batteries than having 1 gigantic battery that sacrifice our phone's slimness..
Can you advise what is the total charging time from 10% to fully charged with this extended battery?
The original one takes about 3 hours to fully charge from 10%, using power socket charger (not USB) and with data packet/wifi/GPS all turned off.
What point are the people posting in every single extended battery thread about slimness or ugliness trying to prove? You are providing no information in regards to extended batteries which the post is about. Thanks to the public demanding slim phones we all have poor battery life. Shut up please.
If the phone was twice as thick you could have reasonable battery life and it would still be easy to handle and pocket, why you need a phone thats >10mm thick is beyond me.
exactly! Prove us what you have. Do not just talk like insane.

Checking it... show me the actual screen usage statistic (screen on time)
see ? Thats my 2000mah battery, dont see much difference, show me screen on time. (those big drops are order and chaos gameplay, pretty good for 2000mah eh ? + The total screen on time after three days was 5 hours.)
This is what I mean:
Im sorry for my scepticism... I just saw things many people overlook, the momax 3500mah battery is actually 2400mah and double the size, the other 1900mah batteries are really 1300-1400mah. Only the samy batteries match the rated capacity, my 1650 mah stock battery is 1614mah and my 2000mah battery is 2035mah according to my discharge tests. Thats why I dont trust 3rd party batteries. I just dont see small company squeezing same or more capacity into same sized battery because I am pretty sure they cant invest as much money into battery manufacturing process as samsung and thats why sammy batteries actually match the real capacities.

This battery does last at least 2 - 3 times longer than the stock Samsung Battery.

[BATTERY REVIEW]Cameron Sino Tech 2200 mAh Lithium Ion "Fat Phone"

Just checking the post box and lo and behold my Cameron sino 2200 MAh battery had finally arrived from England.
It looks like the real deal but only testing will tell.
I purchased in from this Ebay shop.
They delivered it via Royal Postal Service and considering it is the Christmas season it took 14 days instead of the usual 8. Not bad.
The battery and shipping cost me around $22.00 US.
It's charging right now on my universal charger so I still have the use of my phone but I did take some initial photos of the difference in the case size, battery, etc, to post.
My initial response was...whoa! Big! It's exactly twice the depth of the OEM battery.
The back case of of a smoother plastic and not as "grippy" as the original. It's well made and fits perfectly.
The battery itself it a surprisingly tight fit. At first I thought I had gotten the wrong size but it finally popped into place and sits snug in the case.
In hand it feels different of course. Only with some use will I be able to really tell if it's a benefit or a detriment to have a case that size in hand. I have big hands so it might actually end up nice. Some swyping and other activities will tell and I will report of this when I do.
I did a test of the camera with the inset camera and flash holes and there are no blackout spots in the pictures, nor do they suffer in quality as a result of the case.
I had a theory that this case would be provide more bass by acting as a passive subwoofer cavity and indeed it does although I tested it with the standard battery installed. With less cavity space with the CSI battery installed it should fall somewhere in the middle.
One of the things I noticed is increased low end response was created with a sacrifice in overall volume which makes sense. Will report further once battery is charged and there is a little less cavity space inside the casing.
Below are some pics of the batteries, phone profile, etc.
I will follow up with usage test results once it's charged and in the phone.
Battery charged fully after a couple of hours as it was already pre-charged for a bit. On the phone and Battery Monitor base battery profile created. Will find out the true mAh once I deplete and recharge it once.
I hope it will be a day or two before I report in on this.
EDIT: Update
As I would have bloody well hoped, this battery does extend the life of the Wildfire S by quite a bit. Still trying hard to wear it down here by playing some games, coming up with a new tutorial, some recording of me playing guitar with 4 Track Pro, etc.
No solid stats yet but I will have after a drain and recharge or two.
Battery stays at a cool 25-26 degrees centigrade in operation and was cool to the touch while fast charging on the universal wall charger initially. I''ll provide charge while in use stats in short while.
EDIT:
11:10 pm and this thing is still charging. It's a lot of juice to squeeze in I guess. Waiting patiently and then I will post the charging profile screen shot from Battery Monitor.
EDIT:
12:00 pm and the battery is now showing full. Removed battery stats file and doing a complete drain. During charging while using the battery next jumped above 26.5 degrees centigrade. 10 degrees cooler than the stock battery.
EDIT:
2:00 pm and the battery is at 85 percent with moderate usage. Didn't get to sleep until 5:00 am and was up at 11:00 am checking mail etc.
I have to say that compared with the other WFS with the standard battery I REALLY like the feel of this double sized one in the hand. I find it easier for Swyping and general use. It just feels substantial and cups in the palm of your hand in a way that the shallow case doesn't.
EDIT:
The battery is still going strong. Used it heavily last night doing backups and playing Words With Friends online, tapatalk, gmail etc. for a long while. Had a mega text session with a cute girl.
Just after 3:30 PM on day two. Battery finally powered down after a heavy use phase for the last 10% for a total runtime on the first full charge of 40 hours.
Way cooler than the stock battery. Never got warm to the touch. Clocked in at 26.5 C at it's highest temp.
Apparently they even out and get even more capacity after a charge or two so if I get this up to 48 hours with moderate to heavy usage I'm thinking Phat is the new Thin! ;-)
FINAL UPDATE:
Battery charged over 7 hours while under a heavy load playing games.
All in all I've gotten used to the size, love the amount of power and longevity I get, it stays cool, and the price was great.
Next up... Ecell gold 2430 mAh standard sized lithium polymer review.
Coming soon.

Hehe.
Yah it's not the smallest but I'm liking how it feels in the hand even though it's no longer a Zoolander cell.
So far I've been running it hard since 5 pm or so yesterday. NANDROID backups, restores, lots of web time, some games, FB, doing a bunch of root stuff to fix GPS and figure out WiFi issues. Sitting here with another couple of estimated hours left on it. Trying to run it dry for a calibration or two and it's taking a while to say the least.
It's like the weekend pill Cialis...You could call this thing the weekend battery.
I'm going to order...cough cough...I JUST ordered the 2430 mAh Lithium Polymer from Ebay and I'm going to try it as well to see if I can get this kind of run time out of a standard sized battery.
Me <3 testing...
Hey bud. What was your usual 100 to 0% time on the stock battery?
Mine was usually just over 11hours.
With the CS battery 1day14hours (gets better after more cycles)
(note that leaving a phone on standby over night is going to drain less than a working day.)
I'm interested in knowing how you get on with that Gold 2430.
I dont expect it to beat the 2200mah CS but if it gives 25-50% more time over the stock battery with a standard formfactor then I'd be impressed.

That's the test I'm more curious about. Anyway I thank you a lot for the review on the FAT battery. It's bigger so it should be better. As I already wrote on another thread I've had nice experiences with Cameron Sino batteries.
I'm curious about the Li-Polymer because the density and weight of the material are totally different. If that one approves I will buy one for sure.
Simply put I don't want to change the aesthetics of the phone to a Big Mac.

ROFL. Nice.
As I said I like the Big Mac. But I do prefer a Quarter Pounder to be honest.
I figure I will keep two battery stats files and swap from the low profile to the big mac depending on usage needs.
Going to the bar or something, it would be nice to have the smaller phone in my pocket so it doesn't look like I'm over-compensating.
I have read reviews on here where the 2430 clocks in around 1700. In my opinion for $20 that's a worthwhile upgrade to get nearly a third more batter life. Time and testing will tell though.
It shipped today. Hope to get it before Xmas.

Good luck with the shipping time and with the batteries too.
If the Li-Polymer Gold battery only has about 1700mAH then it is pretty false advertising. My feedback would be pretty negative on eBay.
Sellers shouldn't be so greedy and announce values that are way above reality.
Anyway if 15.50€ gets me about 30-35% battery increase then I will probably buy one.
An original battery costs the double...
I will wait for your review before I decide because I really don't like ordering so near Christmas...
Thanks for your help mate.

This means that on the 3rd or 4th complete charge cycles you will probably get a few more hours. Just follow the battery maker's instructions and I guess that 45 hours of moderate usage will be possible. That's quite an achievement!
Even if it's a Big Mac, for work purposes that wouldn't be a problem.

Cameron Sino still takes their business very seriously. That's great!
OP, can you come back after a few weeks using this battery, and do a 2nd review to see how it's lasting?
I only ask because I tried a similar 3500mah extended battery, which was amazing for the first few days, but after a week or two it started losing it's charge realy quickly.
40 hours use from a single charge seems awesome, but I don't wanna go spending on another battery until it's withstood the test of time
No problem. I'll put it in my Calendar.
Awesome, can't wait for the results
Nice testing,we shall se if we have new battery champ for our nice wfs

Hey guys,
So I took the plunge and bought one of these 3,800 mAh extended battery and covers from ebay, they finally turned up today and I am very impressed! I'm not going to try and say the back isnt ugly, but it is far easier to look at than I expected! I was expecting a massive ugly lump, and while it is fairly ugly, it isn't that big for the bump in battery life you'll be getting! The cover follows the curvature of the phone to start with, then flattens out over the top, unfortunately, it seems the designer got bored when it came to the end, and just made a square edge!
I have yet to put the battery through it's paces but will push it hard over the next few days and get back to you with the results!

Day 1
So Its 8:30 pm here in the UK, been unplugged since 8 am, fairly heavy usage, still got 22% left. Will update with screenshots later tonight!
Day one (first full cycle) Screenshots!!! (the gap is where I made a clockwork backup) At least an hour of GTA played, and 3g was constantly on.
Day 2
Very light usage today due to having exams, so been revising all day (sitting an exam part way through). I am going to pop the battery out and do some reviews of some new cases and the official extended battery I just received, then pop the 3,800 back in and carry on into day 3!
Day 3
So I took out the battery to do some reviews last night, then put it back in, and carried on! Light usage to start with, then medium usage towards the end of the day! (streaming music, web browsing) This battery just will not go flat with this usage!!! Very impressed, it's still only on it's second cycle!
Time for some quick maths if we take day 2 and day 3, add the total time together ( 12h 27m 23s +1d 1h 44m 55s = 137,538 seconds = 38.205 hours (I think!)) and take it as 50% battery used, we can calculate that the battery should last 76.41 hours, or 3.18375 days, which is pretty impressive!
Hope you guys are finding this useful, I'll update again tomorrow!
Day 4
Okay, so I used it a bit more today, and as a result it's now flat! I'm going to charge it up overnight, and tomorrow I will do a 100% to flat test streaming youtube videos, and compare against the stock battery to see how this beast does!
Day 5 - 100% to flat vs stock!
Currently running what I shall call the nyan cat test. Screen brightness on full, bluetooth on, NFC on, portable hotspot on, running on 3g, left in the same spot, playing the 10 hour nyan cat video from youtube.
Done the 3,800 mAh battery, impressive results! Just testing the stock battery then I will post up screenshots of how long they lasted! If there is enough demand for it I can also carry out this test with the official extended battery, as well as the 1,900 mAh batteries I have from eBay.
Results
Okay, so first up is the stock 1750 mAh original battery!
And now the 3,800 mAh extended battery!
So, the results speak for themselves. 3 hours extra screen on time, and the battery is still only on its third cycle!
Update: I tried to make it look better by covering it in white carbon fibre effect vinyl, but due to the excessive curves around the camera (and my somewhat lacking skills), it did not end well!
so review it and tell us if it really doubles batterylife hope so otherwise it is really damn ugly
but for that price not going to argue xD

Nope, NFC does not work with this battery.
Wow....would you like a side of phone with your battery!
But then again, I had a Nokia 9000i Communicator...so that is still an ultra slim phone!
So are you actually seeing double battery life with this? I recall reading a while back about some 3rd party battery tests and they were only performing at about 50-60% of their rated capacity, while OEM's performed at 95-98%. The back case is hideous... I really hope someone comes out with something in between the lackluster 2100 mah ext battery and the 1850 OEM battery.
*Edit*
Saw this was for the GSM version... Whoops!
can't wait to see some battery life screen shots with this!
Updated the OP with day one screenshots!
Has anyone found a deal for a battery of this size compatible with the LTE model?
(Preferably not the Seidio version, as it retails for near $70.)
13 hours from full to empty with 4 hours and 20 minutes screen on time with a big 3800mah battery, i get 20 hours from full to empty with 4,5 hours screen on time with my stock 1750mah battery.
I know its the first cycle but i really hope it improves alot

I've had all types of extended batteries for my Evo 4g and my Evo 3D ranging from the cheapo Chinabay to the $75 Seidio 4000mah batteries. Seidio has the closest mah rate as advertised and I once was able to get 120hours of average use out of the Seidio 4000mah battery. The Fleabay extended batteries are only "slightly" better than OEM and it adds the pregnant look to your phone.
Now that I am on the Galaxy Nexus and have loved to use Google Wallet, I am not so keen to jump to use extended batteries that do not support NFC. If Seidio is able to make an extended battery that has the NFC antenna, I will buy it in a heart beat.
Gah.. I'm at four hours screen-on time with my stock battery
Yeah looking at your screen shot, I'd estimate it's about a 2200-2500 mah at best.
A stock battery can almost hit 4 hours, and that ones got maybe 4.5 hour.
That's like what, a 60% effective mah over the rated?

I should have mentioned this, I clocked around an hour of GTA use through the day, plenty of web browsing and some video, I would struggle to get through half the time this battery lasted with my stock, and that was it's first cycle!
+1 for 3800mah batt for GSM and recommend it to heavy/busy users.
Battery Monitor says batt life is
13h55m with my heavy usage
13days4hrs Standby
I measured the weight of the batteries and 3800mah is 68.65grams versus stock at 37.75g
BTW, my phone (SC-04D Docomo G.Nexus) is same as the US GSM type. The GPU is overclocked to 384mhz, processor overclocked to 1.42Ghz and its tweaked from kernel to baseband.
Also, I noticed is that this battery has a working internal temp sensor unlike my X10's mugen 3600mah. I don't use NFC but can put the stock batt back in for that moment... it only takes seconds for the Nexus to boot up anyways.
If you need/want extra batt power, I highly recommend this battery. I've used these fat type batteries for 2 phones now and love them both.

Hyperion Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus 3800mAh Extended Battery

Has anyone purchased the Hyperion Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus 3800mAh Extended Battery from Amazon? How has battery life been with it?

It is quite heavy and bulky though, nowhere near as svelte as the stock. It doesn't look that bad really, the back cover is textured like the stock cover.
Says it has NFC capabilities, but I don't use them, so I am not sure.
The one thing I found curious about it is the seeming uptick on the battery percentage at some times. Percentage would go up a percent or two every now and then when not charging or being used. I did not wipe battery stats prior to using this, so that may explain it. I will continue using the battery (back to the svelte stock today), but it has outperformed my hopes so far.
eh...a little out of budget

I'm able to get 5:30 hours of screen on time with the official 2000mah extended battery on my gsm gn.
I'm looking to get an extended battery, but it needs to do at least 7 hours of screen on time for it to be worth it.

I purchased the Hyperion battery (CDMA Verizon version) which can be seen on amazon.com here:

Bought mine through eBay, link here:

I got great battery life from the battery. On the first day with a full a charge, it lasted approximately 30 hours with some pretty moderate usage. Not bad for the first full charge.

Don't have a number yet. Doing another test today. Will update. Of course, the battery varies whether I am in LTE range or not. Also varies with brightness of the screen, etc. Therefore, I don't think screen on time by itself is very helpful in the determination.
Can u put some pics to see what it looks like with cover etc.? Any suggestion on compatible cases that might fit...?

I'd also like to see pictures of these, as I am also wondering if these would fit with any cases. Thanks.

The newly released Seido spring clip holster is designed for either a "naked" CDMA Galaxy Nexus -- or one sporting one of the monster extended batteries.

Clearing battery stats does NOTHING. N.O.T.H.I.N.G. The "uptick" is what happens when you slam the battery really hard (video streaming, gaming, whatever) and cause it to drop. The voltage will recover a bit from that once you stop, which cause the phone to recalculate the remaining power. All lithium batteries do this, you just notice it more on large cells because you can drain two watts from it without it dying first.

I will put some pictures up tonight or tomorrow. I don't use a case, so I don't know about what would fit. It is quite different size-wize, so something like the Seido case referenced above or a "bumper" case is probably your best bet.

Wow, I was just guessing, no reason to get so upset about it. I don't know much about that kind of stuff so I was just guessing while making my observations. Sorry for being uninformed on the matter.

29 hours on a charge this time. Probably 2-3 hours of LTE during that period - that definitely makes a dent. Pretty consistent use with a few heavy segments of use.
And for your question regarding on screen time:
But, like I said, I don't think you can judge too much off of that. All depends on screen brightness, LTE, etc.

I wasn't upset, nor do I blame you for thinking the way you did. That rumor swirled around here for the better part of 2 years. It just needs to be made abundantly clear to everyone that the battStats myth is a placebo. It doesn't do anything. In fact, the stats get cleared every time you unplug your phone after you charge it.
Pictures
As promised, here are some pictures:
The first two are with the stock battery installed:
Next three are just the covers, side by side. Stock obviously on the left in the first two.
Last three are the extended battery installed.
Let me know if you would like some other shots taken.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the battery. i easily get 1 day without having to charge. I actually like the heft that is added with the battery as well, makes the phone more substantial and seem less fragile.
I bought this battery as soon as I saw the thread. I received and installed it yesterday. I charged it for the full twelve hours that the manufacturer recommended and I'm on my first cycle now... so I can't comment on battery life. But as for the battery cover... it doesn't fit as well as I had planned. But it stays on, and is comfortable to hold. I actually like the larger back and the added weight that the battery brings.
I will report back with battery results after a few charge cycles.

Battery cover fits fine on mine, see my pics above, no problems. The bottom corners of the cover are starting to rub and the paint is coming off though. It makes the corners kind of black.

I got one and was getting very similar battery life as the 2100mah.
I used it for 2 weeks, so 14+ cycles.
I just got the Seidio one today. I hope it performs better.

I am looking to get the one from Verizon 2100mAh.
Does this 2100 one increase the thinkness of the phones?
also how is it compared to the original 1850mAh?
Thanks.

Be a Clear Battery Stat athiest if you want but don't push your liberal beliefs upon others.
Wipe 3x before flashing
and Clearing Battery Stats is sacrosanct.
We hold the faith.

Can you provide a review now that you have used it for a few weeks?
