spb wireless setup help please - Touch HD Themes and Apps

i am with orange UK and get unlimited internet access in evenings and weekends, then its about £3 per megabyte during the day unless i ask them to do a £1 for the whoile day access deal (have to ring each day to add to account, happy to use in evenings when free for quick things.)
How do i set this up i nspb wireless to monitor any access during the day and alert me (incase something access, or gets left on)
thank you

you would visit the spb club, http://www.spbclub.com/forum/, and post the question there. The host may help you

How about 500MB/month for £5?
I would ring and speak to Orange and try and get them to adopt you on their 500MB/month plan for £5...

If you’re using the latest version, under connections and tariffs you can select the internet and select network. My phone then connected to the network and downloaded the available tariffs (my tariff was so new at the time that it was not listed on the net but Spb had it listed), just select and it will set its self up.
Once your correct tariff is selected the tab above connections & tariffs lets you set the alarms for that tariff (on a monthly package anyway) hope this helps

gisbourne,m i dont use the net enough during the day to warrant spending another £5 on the bill. in the evenings and weekends is quite fine for me, but i would like to monitor any access during the day - emails etc.
i will try checking for updated tariffs. thanks

oh ****, I see everyday how extremely expensive Germany is!! I pay for 200MB 10€!!! Im sooo pissed off.... anyway btt, I have a question, too. I flash my blackstone about 3 times a week normally and my problem is that I lose everytime the connections in spb. can I save the results in one way, so that I can start with my newly flashed (hard reset, whatever) hd from the last point on? I search some file like .dll or .xml or whatever, I dont know.. Cause somewhere has to be my data saved, shouldn't it? And I dont think that the HTML would help me, cause I dont know where to put it after flashing.. Can someone help me?
many greets, cad^^

just backup the Folder "SPB Wireless Monitor" in "Application Data"
I use PIMBackup for this.
Then i made a Backup of the following Parts in Registry:
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{DD9B73F6-9EED-4ED0-84CF-422AF83512DB}]
(your Registration)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Spb Software House\Spb Wireless Monitor]

Turning off GPRS

I have seen this question asked several times but I have not be able to find an good answer.
I want to use the WiFi bit of my XDA2s for various things including MSN, what I dont want however is when I walk out of range of the hub is the thing to connect on GPRS and start running up a big usuage bill without my knowledge. I have tried following various instructions but I still get the connecting to GPRS message up.
Is there a way to disable GPRS so it does not even attempt to connect.
TIA
Brynn
I'd also like to know. I know GPRS isn't meant to cost anything unless you actually browse the web etc, but the other day I installed the SPB GPRS monitor and told it that it costs £2.35 per Mb, and noticed that it costs about 30p just to connect! Then another 30p to disconnect! WTF is that about?!?!
Also, it DOES cost just to sit there connected!! Is there some kinda prog sending anonymous usage statistics that I don't know about?
Whilst on the subject, does anyone know if 02 UK have started charging for GPRS yet? I've never had it included in my bill but I've heard they started charging as from the 1st May.. I sure hope not
Cheers -Mike
Disable GPRS
One way is to delete all GPRS-Connections (the most of them are predefined from the provider) under "Settings" -> "Connections".
When the PocketPC has no GPRS-Connection defined it can't dial a GPRS-Connection.

Storing exchange mailbox on SD (byebye blackberry)

I'm trying getting rid off of all the blackberries we have around in my office for some good reasons, the main one is that the radio stack for Blackberry is [email protected]@t and BlueAngels are just too cool to stay with that  and so we could also start using Magicians.
I founded the solution/workaround of synch straight to the exchange server very nice and some settings on the server side help to keep gprs traffic under control and the battery stands for a couple of days. I have to say I AM VERY SATISFIED!
What I still miss for taking a period of holiday is the possibility of storing the mails (not the attachments) on the SD and avoid turning ON the display all the times it synchs via gprs (15min peak hours, 2 hours in the night).
Very happy sharing a dump with anyone needs using it for a enterprise and hates blackberry like I do.
thanks
Hi Grappa,
More info please, what version of Exchange are you using and what did you do to make it all work.
TIA,
Q.
on server side you need having one Exchange2003 on dmz with "basic" authentication, by default is should be "form-based".
I'm working on the same time on S100, 9090 and 8020.
I've to admit that I'm putting more efforts on the S100 beacuse I feel it more suitable, it's a matter of fact that in almost one year I've got my 9090 I've used the keyboard just for playing games and the wifi sometimes on the airports. In my opinion a S100 with grps it's a cute one.
technically I've done a BigStorage trick for saving some memory (that's not the case for the 9090), than spent some time customizing splashscreens wallpapers dialpad and intellipad, customized CABs in order having a sort of "software-image" in case of hard reset, SpriteBackup with executable restores for day to day maintenance.
the result is quite good but I'm still missing some points:
- storing the mailbos on the SD by default
- keeping the display off during gprs synch (battery-life becomes an issue with mail synch)
- switching the grps off quickier (don't understand why it stays so long)
as soon I'll reach it will be my pleasure posting a dump but if you need it now just ask, no problem.
I'm also measuring an "on the road" cost for keeping finance dept quite. It's already one week I've put a S100 with scheduled synchs 15mins/2hours average 50mails/day sending 10 with 1Mb attached and surfing the net 15mins (cnn news). Still have to compare the bill with the blackberry fee but I can anticipate the battery stays for 2 full days.

FIDO GPRS SETTINGS HELP FOR IM portal

Before you go on to post "read the wiki" ,"search the thread noob" etcetc
Ive done that and i found no help for it other than some settings, which i already tried(didnt work) and ive gotten more settings from the fido csr
and ive plugged those in but still no.(tested gprs/edge by starting pocket IE)
no connection.
I've gotten the value pack for fido which includes the Instant messaging portal for msn and yahoo where i can chat and message and check email unlimited... now the only problem is i cant connect to gprs/edge to use it.
question 1. how do i get the dam settings to work?
question 2. am i able to use the messenger included in the rom? or do i need to use the one specifically for fido?
question 3. once the previous 2 are answered..... Am I able to make it where only the associated program uses gprs/edge for data..so that way if i use pocket ie on wifi i can still use watever im using with gprs?
ie: surf the net on wifi, while im chatting msn on gprs?
thats all i got for now,
I'm using a softbank x01ht with black majik rom.
Thanks for any help i receive.
When I first got a windows phone I was so determined to get it set for Fido's services. With my Universal it took me days to figure out what the settings were. I thought I knew everything after that. Turns out that there are a bunch of other factors such as MMS won't work until you've exchanged msg's with another FIDO customer. Also internet doesnt work without a proper plan first, it doesnt work like it used to , which was PAYG. Lastly the settings don't kick in until you reset the phone, and even then I have heard stories from some where it took upto half hour for some settings to kick in. I find it so complicated now that I seem to know where all the free wi-fi hotspots are around my area.
I hope this doesn't discourage you from figuring out ur settings through trial&error.
I encounter none of what you said. I dont use MMS so I am not familiar with ..all others is no big deal.
It takes me 30 seconds for set up and I am ready to go.
ps: I am on a unlimited for years.....
Well I guess it mustve been different with the Universal and your Hermes.
thanks for the feedback still havent figured it out as of yet though i do know theres supposed to be a dial out to *90# or something like that cant check the txt i received from fido right now.
anyways i hope to get it up soon, im gonna try to port over the IM program thats in my friends rogers tytn and see if i can change the settings on that thing for fido.
wish me luck
They toys bahave different

You bet money on it. I have an 8125 and also an 8525, both have exactly the same UI to set the connections up, however with exactly the same settings I´m able to surf the WEB, get GMail, all MSN Live services, etc only with my Wizard because with the Hermes I´m able to open just a very few wap sites. I´ve had this problem since day one with my Hermes and looking for a solution in this site and in many others I´ve found that I´m not the only lucky person with a $400 toy that performs worst than the cheapest Nokia, there´s a lot of people with same problem and nobody knows why this happens. For those who've got it working, could you please share HOW? It would be much appreciated.

'Push' Internet

I got the Touch Pro 2 via Orange, however have it unlocked to O2.
The push internet feature however doesnt seem to exist on this rom!! I dont mean even disabled because ive moved to O2, just isnt there!!!
No icons beside the pages, no option to 'add new push page', and no options in menu for schedule settings or data settings!
Has anyone else experience the Touch Pro via Orange UK? Am i missing something very simple, or is there a way to enable thsi feature??
Help appreciated
I've got an Orange UK TP2 too and its not there either. i havent tried adding though, sorry!
'tunes
Thats a useful reference point anyway so thanks. At least i know its not something i have done. Orange must have been trying to cut down on bandwidth usage or something!!
With this in mind- any easy way i can restore the push functionality without flashing and putting a different rom on board??
Ok im on the verge of reflashing to an htc Rom. Really dont want to because push internet is all im after, but dont see any options.
one last appeal- is there anyway i can 'restore' push internet to my Orange branded Touch Pro 2?? Any ideas??
Q
Why so desperate for push internet?
It's just a scam by the carriers to make you use more data... just add your favourites to your favourites and check them whenever you want/need.
IMO anyway.
The TmobileUS TP2 doesn't have Push Internet either & I don't care. I doubt it would be something i'd use even if it was in the ROM
I was reading in a thread where people wanted to disable push internet that the way it worked was to load Opera at start-up and use the browser to download the webpages at specified intervals.
It means that Opera will be in memory all the time and running in the background.
Having tried Push Internet for a few weeks, I can say I liked it but I haven't found it essential. I found myself refreshing the "pushed" page just to see what the most up-to-date information was anyway. For my internet usage, I agree with the previous poster who suggested loading the page from a bookmark (or use an RSS feed reader).
Unless there's a specific need for Push Internet that you have in mind, I don't think it's worth the hassle.

If I were you, I would not be too disappointed to have no push internet. It drains your RAM and your battery.

Configure T-mobile Data plan $9.99

Hi everyone!
I wanted to know how to configure my HTC S620 Phone with WM 6.5 to use the $9.99 data plan and NOT the Smart Phone Data Plan.
I wont use it to surf the internet, ONLY FOR EMAILS. I feel like I will be paying way too much for the Smart phone data plan.
Can any one confirm that the $9.99 plan works? If so what configurations did you do?
Thanks for reading and hope to find answers!
I would also like to know the answer to this question, as before I switched to a Dash, I had the web service that is listed as T-mobileWeb service. With the 6.5 WM 3vo rom, I have no problem loading the internet. But when I switch to Kavana's rom, I can send and receive text and calls, but have problems with accessing the internet, and it refuses to load. Am I doing something, or are these two roms actually set up to recieve data differently?
Also on a side note, I would prefer to use Kavana's so if anyone can shed some light on what settings I need to change so that my internet begins to function again, I would highly appreciate it, and I believe it would answer both of our questions.
Thanks, and sorry for posting in this manner, but I figured instead of starting a new thread, I'd just add it here while it was posted.
I thought that you had to have had the 9.99 plan......
Didn't T-Mobile get rid of new people getting onto it?
"Tzones Proxy Hack"
on another website they have instructions for it but in your profile i left you a message with the link. i've used this method for a while with no issues but its not my own thought up solution so take it for what its worth.
