I just want to... - About xda-developers.com

... give a huge hug to all you hard working devs out there, you are doing a tremendeous job and... this site has the answer for almost any problem that one might experience with a xDA.
Incredible, just simply incredible.
Keep up the superior work!
Oh! I almost forgot to ask, the drivers I have read about that you are developing, could someone point me in the right direction where to read more about those? I have a HTC 7510 and am not sure that I need those at all, I dunno if they are included in the 7510...?
Best regards,

Welcome to the board. You gotta be careful of that question. You have like 30 chefs on here and you're probably going to get flamed for not researching. I guess the best way to decide which ROM is the best is to decide what you want to use your device for. Then start reading. Or you could cook your own. Before I started cooking, I used JoshKoss, CRC, Mick Smith's. They are all good. Just read my friend.

WHOA WHOA slow down you over-achiever. Take a deep breath. Now, this should be your first read. It has a BUNCH of info. The site has a WIKI also that answers a ton of stuff. Yes, I have a Yahoo ID. It's in my signature, just send an invite.
lol...yes indeed. Your question is almost begging to be flamed. Though you may also get lucky and get away with it Like the above poster said there isn't anything like a specific 'best' ROM for a phone. Its a personal preference. The wiki is an excellent place for you to get started on getting to understand everything you need to know about you phone. Use the search option for any question you have. Your bound to find relevant results on almost any type of search. Happy reading and welcome to the board.

after i got the first answer i have found teh WIKI.. no bad intentions here...
i just saw so many ROMS... and i hardly know what they are.. just now trying to find out.. somebody enlighten me pls..
i am reading, reading..
thanks..
Start with CRC's rom.. good, fast, stable
This cant be flamed, BTW!!!! this can be great apreciatted.
I meet many designers and has magic on their hands (and HD's full of tricks on photoshop's projects!) well if you want to start... you can talk with joshkoss, CRC, abuzalsa and many others... cause at this time they are trying to change some icons in .PNG and .ICO full glossy pics maybe 32 x 32 or less like the Notification Icons in upper bar... so talk to him about your skills maybe you can give us new Icons or something... read about the images on the ROMS... what extension, or what kind, sizes, and wheigts...
Hope you can find your work here.

I want to help/contibute. But how?

Hey everyone.
I've been coming here for a while now. And all I seem to do is congratulate developers on their work and leech ROMs/freeware.
I DONT WANT TO DO THIS!
I want to help/contribute to the site. But don't know how. I know I can donate, but when you don't have a job and need every penny that comes your way, what can you do?
I've thought of cooking ROMs, but don't know where to start.
The only other thing I can think of is offering my services beta testing.
Any idea on what I can do to help all you AMAZING developers become even more amazing?
Add me on MSN.
Lets get something going!

One worthwhile way to help/contribute is by helping newbies -- at least pointing them towards the answer...and that means doing more than just saying "SEARCH!"
Think you're just a newbie yourself? There's always somebody who knows less than you. (See what the Administrator says in the Announcements in Rule #10 )
I know what you mean. There's always articles or guides that could be updated or created on the XDA wiki. Otherwise like MCbrian said just answering questions so the pros can stay on task is always good.

You can always dream even further...
i just need a new Doctor
well after seeing the new Dr. Who episode, all I can wish for now is:
CAN I PLEASE HAVE TOM BAKER BACK?
a trillion thanks for the new 'Quantum Genie' rom Tai, now my jasjam can boil water! Battery life not so good though, and I got a weird headache + blurry vision.
Can you guys, please not spam and reply gently if you really know?
I mean jesus christ, if you don't want to help then it's fine. But don't make fun.
Simply amazing how this makes sense... this guy ask onmy rom thread something like a bricked device... but it seems that old guys here that are always helping some time to date... are blofing like this... its a shame ppl...
Just limitate to answer if you want to laugh about newbies you know where you can do it...
lol
shame on you +Que , it's fun to laugh at people who can't even read the sticky's. I don't think that's mean at all. We all wish there was a magic-wishing tree.
BUT - to answer the original question, I have gone back to CRC's rom for stability, but experimental downports of newer ROMs from newer devices are done by +Que and TAI at the moment. Note that these roms are stripped and downported in the hope that they work ok and use a less memory. Read the stickies, then their threads, flash HardSPL, and then read read read more and more and more... Honest answer!

Thank you for everything... Leaving S620 World.

Hello everyone.
First of all, I´d like to say thank you to everyone here. I´ve learned a lot here, and knowledge is something you keep with you forever, no one can take it away. I´m thankful for all the knowledge i got from here. From you!
My device is tired.. It has a few hardware problems that I can´t put up with. I was told that the motherboard is damaged. I can´t afford that change... I mean... I could, but i´m not willing to. I´m moving on to another device. Not sure wich one, but I think that Samsung Galaxy S is a good choice.
Anyway, I will still be around, helping people the way I can, but I´ll be no longer a excalibur user.
Thank you, for everything.
Regards.
Special thanks to:
Mr.Ookba, for his guidance and trust!
Mr.Kavana, for his WM 6.1 (that´s the reason I got here)
Mr.Rickywatt, and Mr.Stylez.
Sorry to see you living. We will miss your great insights. I hope you keep showing here from time to time.
Vamos Maradona!
i miss this device this was a great forum miss developing for it

rooting and flashing like 1,2,3

Greetings to all of the chefs,
First of all i would like to apologise for probably posting in the wrong section but i just wanted to get the attention of all of the highly skilled chefs of xda. I recently bought my first Android phone and of-course the first thing that came into mind was to log on xda and download a fresh and more worthy rom than the crappy stock one.My only problem is that i haven't got a clue how to do it! I have flashed countless WM roms on my hd2 but as far as android? NOT A CLUE!!! even after reading all of the how to's and instructions in all of the threads..still no clue.So here's what i thought. Could someone make a program that does everything from start to finish? like the rom upgrading used for WM phones. All we have to do is just point to what rom we want and let it do it for us.Is this possible?
Oh and by the way by saying everything i mean rooting,s-off and whatever else there may be.
Thanks guys and again i apologise
YiotisCy using Htc Desire HD Android 2.3 with gorilla glass( yes gorilla glass!)
Its technically probably possible to make such an application but if something goes wrong along the way the chances of recovery would be lower than if you do it all manually. I am about to send you a PM with a full guide from start to finish.
