I'm after a password manager for the device to keep track of all my online passwords.
What is the best one for this device?
i think "spb wallet 2" is really great
Thanks. Will check it out.
give KeePass a try
checked out ewallet. Looks good but costs a fair bit after the trial. Not sure I want to pay this much if I'm honest.
There seem to be various versions of keepass about. Not sure which one to try out. Anybody got a link of the best one to use for the HTC touch hd
Also checked out spb wallet but this is a bit pricey as well. . Would prefer a freeware option if at all possible
I use KeePassPPC wm6 v0.4.9
sourceforge.net/project/platformdownload.php?group_id=175898&sel_platform=2374
On the PC i use the classic version. v2 is beta and looks good.
thanks. tried the version listed and it's excellent.
can this link with the desktop version of the software?
If so this would be excellent.
the pc version that's compatible with the non beta version I'm using is the classic v1.5
http://keepass.info/download.html
Thanks. Do you reckon it would work with 1.15 portable edition?
Databases of Keepass 1.15 on PC and KeepassPPC 0.4.9 on PDA are compatible. I sync the databases with ActiveSync between PC and PDA. Works great.
Keepass is the best... the PC version is always sync with your PDA version and its very useful... and it is free and opensource
I haven't tried it yet, but MobilePasswordSafe looks good. I'm in the process of writing my own app and using the controls he wrote for this. It's really good and quite intuitive. Best of all is the nice Touch UI
EDIT: oh yeah, and the other best thing... it's free!! lol.

You can use Photo Contacts Pro 3.0 for free
https://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/domore/photocontact.mspx
Very recommended...
not working
Thanks for the suggestion, but I cant see where it's free. I did not fill out the ms survey. Is that required.
Thanks

It is free you just need to login with your "live" details, however here it is if you cannot be bothered Oh and yet me know how you get on wih it as Ive never tried it myself.
i also tried once photocontacts pro and although it has many usefull features i gave up using it... because it made my device very slow when it came to ringing... even with the clear rom it takes a lot to ring... with PC Pro the thing got worse... is the same with you or is somthing with my device (M3100)....
Well
This is photocontacts pro 3.0, meanwhile theres V 5.0 available...
I used photocontacts pro before and I was very satisfied with it. Of course you have to install the program itself AND all of your ringtones in the main memory, then it will not slow down your device. You can find it here:
http://www.pocketx.net/products/photocontactspro_ppc/
And I think, its possible to upgrade the MS Version, so it will be cheaper
If you larger pics just for incoming calls, you can try S2U2, its freeware:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=343256
im having a problem installing this on my wallaby, im usin .CAB installer, and its saying "this file is not a valid windows ce setup file, any suggestions?

As already mentioned its a very old version. And it is not freeware, its a testversion sponsored by MS, running for 90 days. So I recommend to everbody who wants to test photocontacts pro to use the newest one from www.pocketx.net.
Sponsored by MS
Everybody can download a test version, no need for sponsoring.
@doozerbob: what cab file did you install?
i used activesync to install it, tried version 3ish and got not valid, tried version 4ish and the demo worked fine, tried version 5ish and it wouldnt even start up, but im presuming thats because of my fone having veeery old firmware
Can anyone recomend a program for making notes of the today screen (i presume there must be a program for doing this). preferably free too
Cheers,
handwrite memo
Yes, there is, and it's freeware too .
Look here:
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-hand-write-memo-today-plugin.html
brilliant thanks very much, will try now
-- Doesnt seem to work, downloaded and installed ok, but doesnt do anything... lol
anyone else tried it?
I don't know the program, but maybe you have to activate it in settings - Today? Today-plugins need to be activated through this menu to display them.
had a look there, its not in the today settings anywhere...
I think it should be there in the "items"-tab.
But like I said, I don't have this program, so I don't know for sure...
yeh, it should be, but it aint. ah well. find another prog... cheers anyway
I used to use NotesToday, and made some skins for it.
http://www.pocketgear.com/en_US/html/display_product.jsp?id=prod5690811
Nice app, but I realised that it gets a bit cramped writing notes on the today screen. That's what the Notes app is for! Also try BugMe, a great app.

Here is the readme file at the site of the developer:
http://home.comcast.net/~cheezsj/pocketpc/handwriteforpokep/english/Readme_English.txt
You have to install the program in main memory, after that the prog can be configured in settings > today > items.
Hope this works for you.
sketchit is a nice one
i use spb diary =) notes on today))
my screen :
Can't fault Bug-Me
I am using the quick memo from here:
http://home.comcast.net/~cheezsj/menue_pocketpc.htm
very nice app, runs smooth. They also have a Hand write memo to draw straight on today's screen give it a try and let us know too.

This theme looks pretty good to replicate the iphone.
Has anyone had any experience using this, also can anyone recommend anything better?

You can get from here
http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/ifonz.shtml
try Mallman's stuff at www.swampthing.net
I have used it and works pretty well.
it also runs on WAD2
Excellent thanks for the links guys, very helpful.
Whats the big difference in the ifonz and swampthings software?
I mean there is one sitting there for free, or there is one where I would have to spend $15 on the WAD, then $2.50 on the program?

Thanks or the advertising lol. As for the freeware ifonz theme, you can certainly use this but you will need to mod it just a little. There are qvga and vga versions, not Wvga. If youa re looking for the most inexpensive way to get an iphone theme this is the way to go.... you will just have to resize the icons and such. Should work fine though.
Not sure what engine this uses because all of mine use WAD2. Looks interesting though. I would say try ifonz first and if it meets yoru needs you haven't spent a dime I am going to try it as well and see what i can do with it
ok i have downloaded the vga version and installed it. See screenshot. The only real complaint I have is that it runs pretty bad. Not unusable but the motions are not fluid. I think I see the files that make it work and it seems you could probably modify these files yourself to get better quality icons. The real benefit to using this is you save the $15 on WAD2. Of course anyone who uses WAD2 would probably admit it is the best thing since sliced bread if you want to customize your interface.
However, this is free and it pretty neat. I say give it a try before you do anything else. If it completely suites your needs then you are all set guys. For the record, i think it has a lot of potential. I will be toying with it a little in the future.
As the author of WAD2, i wouldn't recommend the theme above. There is a reallly good, high-quality iPhone theme for WAD2 by a user called "Torx" in our forums. It's not VGA (at least, not the last time I checked), but it is free and a better quality than the one linked to at the top of this thread.

agreed for the quality reasoning. I would recommend buying WAD2 for tha treason. I was only suggesting the above for the free factor. But, you get what you pay for.
Not greatly impressed with ifonz, so when i get some cash, will be buying WAD2 and the swampthing theme.
purchased!
Im very very impressed, good theme.
Just wondering how to link my own applications to each of the iphones on screen buttons?
For instance calculator, weather etc...?
does it run better with TF3d disabled?

yes it runs free and clear of TF3d, it is a total replacement for TF3D. You can change any of the links the buttons link too by tap/hold any spot on the screen that is empty. Select author mode. Now tap/hold the button you want to change and select properties. Select script. Edit the script. Enjoy You can also find this detail in the swampthing FAQ at:
http://www.swampthing.net/index.php...ginally+linked.&option=com_quickfaq&Itemid=64
I haven't been able to find a good money managing program, because all of the freeware requires .net CF ver 2.0, and it won't install on EnergyROM 1.0 052409 Excalibur. Anyone?
Try www.clearcheckbook.com
It is web based buy you can enter transactions via text message or mobile browser.
Looks nice, but I would like something I can install locally and archive on my Micro SD. Thanks for your reply.
did you try millo money?

I tried it and it's actually pretty good, but the screen cuts off at the bottom. I'm running the newest Energy ROM, might that be the problem? Anyway, thanks for responding.
the screen cuts off on mine to but you can still use that bottom part of the add feature, its a description box. works great for me.
Hey!
We have finally released the new Ominmo UI 2 pack !
i took so long for us to get Language support in !
http://taichou-henk.deviantart.com/art/Omnimo-2-for-Rainmeter-158715959
Also a bonus pack has been released!
http://xyrfo.deviantart.com/art/Omn...pular+in:customization/skins+max_age:72h&qo=4

It will NOT work with version 1!
Also for it to work get the latest rainmeter beta:

It would really shine on a touch screen netbook, or a tablet like the touchsmart. I just have it on my desktop, but rainmeter seems to run well. I haven't seen it being a memory or CPU hog.

It's been almost a year since this has been posted, but I do still agree!
Rainmeter with the Omnimo theme is great on a tablet! But without my Outlook E-mail, calendar, notes and tasks a large part of it is pretty much useless.
The future looks bright...
Hopefully, we'll be seeing some metro features in windows 8 when it releases, with the integration that you mentioned. Check out the 5 links to articles below.
