Today (23 July 08) Hong Kong HTC released new ROM for Diamond users.
ROM version: 1.93.831.1 WWE
ROM date: 07/18/08
Radio Version : 52.29.25.12H_1.00.25.05
Description:
1. Enable GSM 850 band.
2. Fixed sometimes no signal issue.
3. Fixed no action while touching navigator control in camera mode.
4. Fixed some files in internal storage which cannot be listed.
5. Fixed SMS sound alert notification delayed issue.
6. Improved audio quality after audio booster is enabled.
7. Improved TouchFLO 3D tab switching and movement speed.
8. Improved home page loading speed.
9. Turned off the 5-second auto screen off function when screen is turned back on by pressing power key during a voice call. Screen off timeout will follow system power setting.
10. Added random access bar to the right hand edge of the screen for selection of weather countries and cities.
IMPORTANT! - please read these instructions carefully before updating your device
1. VERY IMPORTANT! - All files and software on the device will be lost after the update. Please ensure a copy of your important files is backed-up somewhere else.
2. Download the .exe file.
3. The ROM Code can only be updated on hTC Touch Diamond Hong Kong English Version Device
4. Ensure Activesync v4.5 (or higher) is installed on PC/laptop for OS WinXP and below. For Windows Vista and above there is no need to install ActiveSync.
5. Connect hTC Touch Diamond to PC/laptop.
6. VERY IMPORTANT! - Ensure your device is connected properly to the PC/laptop.
7. Make sure the battery is charged to at least 50%.
8. Double-click on the .exe file to run the update utility.
9. Please close all programs on your PC/laptop when running the update utility.
10. VERY IMPORTANT! - Do not unplug the device when the update process is running, doing so may damage the device.
11. After updating, the device will reboot, this is normal.

I might be wrong, but is the 193.456.2 (which have been available for some time) not newer ?
I understood, that 1.93 is the main release, 456 is the country/area code, and the last number was indicating sub version.

regarding the OS part, which build is in this ROM? is it the same as 1.93 ME from tom_codon?

Not sure if this is the right place. I just uploaded the latest HTC ROM to the FTP server. Updating my device right now, so I do not know if its really more stable or faster. Maybe you rom-cookers can use it.
After upgrading it has 56.46MB free storage and 50.54MB free program memory.
I don't know how to find out the .NET version.

That thread you have linked to really says it all, it can't really be put in any greater detail than that. Everything you need to know is there.
Flash HardSPL (Part A), Update your radio (if you want), pick a ROM and flash it.
If you are not confident following the instructions in the thread you have linked, maybe wait a little while, re-read everything, and don't get started until you are happy. There is the potential to ruin your phone if you do it wrong. Good luck

I am currently running on the following official ROM:

I have just downloaded, but yet to install!!, the latest official ROM from HTC: HKCSL WWE 2.03.831.2
Is it worth upgrading to the latest rom. Has there been any significant enhancements/fixes? Will I see an overall improvement to my device??

Oh no! I'm just finished reconfiguring everything since the last upgrade about a month ago...
I hope this update isn't necessary. I hope it's not a major bug that will render my diamond useless if I skip this update.
The changelog is the same as for the previous 2.03 rom, they must have messed something up with the previous file

The German version 2.03.407.3 fixes a bug which came along with .2: The network settings wizard was broken with E-Plus and it's brands and resellers. With .3, the settings for E-Plus, Base, Blau etc. are fixed and work again as they should.

At this moments my Pro2 is very slow, hangs often...it sucks

I tried to get my hands on it, but my serial is not valid...only for SEA grgrgrgrgrgrgr how long to wait...Im as well some times stuckt...as well as for the upgrade for GPS and SMS...that's not working for my rom....

Forgive the noob question, but I've never owned an HTC device this close to the original release date, nor a SIM free one.
My TP2 has the following:
ROM version: 1.19.401.0 (51489) WWE
ROM date: 05/16/09
Radio version: 3.44.25.27
Protocol version: 61.25t.25.19U
Would I be able to flash the RUU_Rhodium_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.19.707.2_Radio_Rhodium_3.44.25.27_Signed_Ship.exe from the Wiki?
I don't know a lot about stock ROMs - all my previous devices have been out long enough that there's a huge amount of custom ones on here.
The HTC site said that the update wasn't for my phone (it's only on the HTC Asia site, not the HTC UK one), but I'm an impatient guy!
WWE is, I believe, WorldWide English, which is what my current ROM is - I'm just mildly concerned about the Asia part. It's not going to have the default language to be Thai or anything, right? (I don't have an original ROM anywhere, so can't revert back if it all goes tits-up)

1. The Financial Providers Icon (Yahoo!) was placed in the Stock Tab in TouchFLO Pro to be clear on where the data originated.
2. The phone now shows the actual amount of RAM (288MB) instead of the amount used in previous models (256MB).

My device is a sim free version that I bought (no carrier attached) and yet I can't get the upgrade!? What's going on...?

So if it was the same, I could say that this ROM already had the Radio FM aplication, the Voice Recorder one, the MP3 Trimmer, and It looks a little faster in the Touch Flo3D. At least looks like.
