[ROM][WWE][23.07.08]Hong Kong Official ROM - 1.93.831.1 52.29.25.12H_1.00.25.05

Today (23 July 08) Hong Kong HTC released new ROM for Diamond users.
ROM version: 1.93.831.1 WWE
ROM date: 07/18/08
Radio Version : 52.29.25.12H_1.00.25.05
Description:
1. Enable GSM 850 band.
2. Fixed sometimes no signal issue.
3. Fixed no action while touching navigator control in camera mode.
4. Fixed some files in internal storage which cannot be listed.
5. Fixed SMS sound alert notification delayed issue.
6. Improved audio quality after audio booster is enabled.
7. Improved TouchFLO 3D tab switching and movement speed.
8. Improved home page loading speed.
9. Turned off the 5-second auto screen off function when screen is turned back on by pressing power key during a voice call. Screen off timeout will follow system power setting.
10. Added random access bar to the right hand edge of the screen for selection of weather countries and cities.
IMPORTANT! - please read these instructions carefully before updating your device
1. VERY IMPORTANT! - All files and software on the device will be lost after the update. Please ensure a copy of your important files is backed-up somewhere else.
2. Download the .exe file.
3. The ROM Code can only be updated on hTC Touch Diamond Hong Kong English Version Device
4. Ensure Activesync v4.5 (or higher) is installed on PC/laptop for OS WinXP and below. For Windows Vista and above there is no need to install ActiveSync.
5. Connect hTC Touch Diamond to PC/laptop.
6. VERY IMPORTANT! - Ensure your device is connected properly to the PC/laptop.
7. Make sure the battery is charged to at least 50%.
8. Double-click on the .exe file to run the update utility.
9. Please close all programs on your PC/laptop when running the update utility.
10. VERY IMPORTANT! - Do not unplug the device when the update process is running, doing so may damage the device.
11. After updating, the device will reboot, this is normal.

I might be wrong, but is the 193.456.2 (which have been available for some time) not newer ?
I understood, that 1.93 is the main release, 456 is the country/area code, and the last number was indicating sub version.

regarding the OS part, which build is in this ROM? is it the same as 1.93 ME from tom_codon?

Not sure if this is the right place. I just uploaded the latest HTC ROM to the FTP server. Updating my device right now, so I do not know if its really more stable or faster. Maybe you rom-cookers can use it.
After upgrading it has 56.46MB free storage and 50.54MB free program memory.
I don't know how to find out the .NET version.

That thread you have linked to really says it all, it can't really be put in any greater detail than that. Everything you need to know is there.
Flash HardSPL (Part A), Update your radio (if you want), pick a ROM and flash it.
If you are not confident following the instructions in the thread you have linked, maybe wait a little while, re-read everything, and don't get started until you are happy. There is the potential to ruin your phone if you do it wrong. Good luck

I am currently running on the following official ROM:

Protocol version: 52.29.25.12H
I have just downloaded, but yet to install!!, the latest official ROM from HTC: HKCSL WWE 2.03.831.2
Is it worth upgrading to the latest rom. Has there been any significant enhancements/fixes? Will I see an overall improvement to my device??

But what is the difference between this update and update from 16.01.? It's the samo list of fixes, same rom version when you start the download, so what is the diference between theese two?? Anyone knows?!?

When I use your serial number it show the version as 2.03.401.3, but if you check the below post the version is different, but it's sweeden ROM. Any one has Serial number to download the WWE ROM for this version ?(2.03.413.2). Looks like with this ROM even the SensorSDK is included..

Start > Settings > System > Device Info > Software Info > Manila version
If it starts with 2.0, it's just TouchFlo3D 2.0 (stock version without weather on the clock); full landscape support, has programs tab.
If it starts with 2.1, it has weather on the clock, full landscape support, has a programs tab.
If it starts with 2.5, it has weather on the clock, the background, and you have quicklinks at the bottom of the clock. No full landscape support, no programs tab, has Twitter and Footprints Tabs.
Or, if you're still not sure, you could tell us what ROM you have (stock or custom; if custom, tell us which ROM), and we could tell you.

Oh, so are you using the stock HTC WWE ROM from their website? If you are, I think that comes with Manila 2.1 (weather in the big clock on the Home screen; no quicklinks below the clock; if you slide out the keyboard there's landscape support).
And if you see my post above, which Manila version best describes your Home screen?
Edit: I guess only custom ROMs (at least 3 I've tried and remembered) have this Software Tab.

go to the settings tab in manila- it should be the second to last tab, between weather and programs. Once you're on the settings tab look all the way down at "about". The manila version is listed right there.

Also in "ABOUT", nothing is mentioned regarding MANILA...my TouchFlo 3D is bi-colour, also there is no weather animation at the clock on home screen.
How do i check my Manila and TouchFlo 3D version now?
Also there is no MANILA tab anywhere in system or settings.

That would be a WM6.1 version. On my WM6.1 ROM the Manila/TF3D version was in the settings tab (as the last item).

Go to HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila\Version
I use RUU_Rhodium_S_HTC_Europe_1.86.401.0_Radio_Rhodium_4.49.25.17_Signed_Ship Rom, and Manila is 2.1.19193517.0

I just recently upgraded to 6.5 and can't seem to find the version of Manila.

ROM date: 11-17-09
