I tried flashing my Diamond with the XBmod HD ROM and now it won't boot at all. It goes to the Diamond screen and keeps resetting. I tried to get to the bootloader with reset + volume down + center button, but I get nothing. If I broke the bootloader, would Sprint or HTC be able to repair the phone? Or would I get in trouble when they found out it was unlocked?

to get to tri-coloured screen, just reset and press the volume down key down.

I don't think you should be flashing a GSM/WCDMA rom to a CDMA (Sprint) phone. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but CDMA diamonds are not compatible with the roms on this board.

Doesn't do anything . All I get is the Diamond boot screen and it endlessly resets. If I take this in to see if Sprint can fix it will I lose my contract or anything? I don't even know if flashing is technically legal or not.
Flashing will void your warranty yes, as your changing the bootloader etc, but hopefully they wont notice.
For future reference, read all the guides to ensure you have the correct region rom.

You can flash a ROM in bootloader mode so go into it and reflash your ROM.

Thanks for the fast reply.
Hold the camera button all the way down and soft reset the device simultaneously.
you can also just start flashing with a RUU.

If you can't do that, it's pretty much over. Prepare to ship the device back to HTC for warranty purposes. If they charge you more then your willing to pay for the repairs, tell them that they can keep it.
Who knows, they might fix it for free if warranty isn't void..
Hope this will work for you
do u have olipro hardspl already installed on you diamond...if u do, try holding the power button, volume down and hard reset button the same time...you can see the bootloader again and (you hv to quickly flashed it becaused it will only sync for few sec)quickly flashed a fresh copy of olipro hardspl and it will be back to life..now u can flashed your new rom as a you did before...i hv face the same problem power button not working, bootloader cannot sync with pc...my diamond is totaly dead.. i did send my diamond to HTC for repair..they ask me USD 320 the replace the motherboard..and at last i tried the solution found on xda and my diamond is back to life again...hope it will work for u to...gud luck

Dear dubrak0 would u spare us a bit more detail on how did you bricked your diamond..wat did you flash to get your diamond bricked and wat happened if you connect your diamond to your pc as you mentioned earlier in the post you cannot enter bootloader..and yes bad flashing can caused you to kill your device and it will never turn on...
As for me, i flash a rom doing all the normal steps but i dont know what went wrong just after the flashing my device cannot be turn on..i tried to enter the bootloader by pressing volume down and reset button but the bootloader stay only for 2 sec and cannot sync with my pc..when i try to charge the bootloader keep poping up a few sec and repeat it self and it wont charge the phone....nothing is workin all the button dead accept for the repeating bootloader and the device cannot sync with pc for flashing...then only i sent my diamond to htc as i mentioned earlier..
The solution is a bit tricky actually...you hv to press and hold the power and volume down button the same time then press the reset button and lift but still holding the 2 button for few more sec till the bootloader appear.. when the bootloader appear it will sync to your pc and stay there few more sec a bit longer then before...therefore u must quickly flash the new hardspl again...if you succeed with that then only it will be back to life...
If you say that your device is dead as in nothing happens even if u connect it to your pc then nothing can be done...if your device is still under warranty then send it to htc as they informed me that if they could not detect any third party hardspl installed (which is in your case the device is totally dead and no chance to even check wats installed on the device) they`ll fix it for u without any charged..but if u hv your warranty expire then to bad..your device is totally unuseable unless u pay usd 320 for the board replacement or do jtag..
if you have hardspl then you cannot kill it from a rom flash, so im assuming you didnt!
Hello, this is my first post here. I tried to install Windows Mobile 6.5 as indicated in Gizmodo http://gizmodo.com/5281397/how-to-install-windows-mobile-65-right-now but it didn't work and now my phone won't boot.
The phone is an HTC Touch Diamond from Sprint. I followed all the steps indicated and everything look fine, but after installing the OS the phone displays the screen TOUCH DIAMOND, and then restarts and displays the same thing. I'm able to get into the boot loader (Tri color screen) and says:
DIAM500
SPL-0.57.CMONEX
MicroP-Diam (LED) vB
PSOC-Diam STAGE_EVT v20.
I don't know what to do now
Thanks
try to load back to default setting by pressing the power on button at the top of the phone, before the "Touch Diamond" logo come up, press and hold volume down button and the center button until the three color screen come out, then release the two button you are pressing..
if the problem still happen, that mean the rom you are using should have risk on it..
give it up and try other rom or flash it again..
hope my suggestion can help you solve the problem..
dont worry.
if bootloader is possible as you write
than you can flash all time orig. rom back.

Hi I have the same issue on my HTC Diamond. I flashed wm 6.5 and it was working fine, then it hanged on titanum weather. I reset and it stayed on the HTC Diamond page, I did hard reset and got the Olinex 1.40 3 color page. It does respond from serial to usb when I plug/unplug. Can I reflash without active sync?
Turns out I was able to flash, but both roms I tried work well on 1st install, but stay stuck on the Touch Diamond screen everytime I restart de device. Is it a problem with the radio not compatible , or is there a specific Hspl for each ROM???
I found solution for this problem. If your diamond won't boot go to bootloader mode and upgrade your radio http://modmydiamond.info/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=15&Itemid=26 and after that your dimond worked fine without loosing data.
try to hard reset the phone by pressing vol down key + the center button + reset button.
if the problem is still like dat..
try to install another rom..

Thanks davidwong007 for your help, I was experiencing the same issue as op and your method did the trick. For a minute there I thought I had bricked my HTC Touch. I did step by step what you suggested and ended up in the rainbox screen, once I was able to do that, I knew there was a hope. i did a full factory reset of the phone and voila the phone fully booted, the pain in the butt touchflow loaded. Very important thing I forgot to do in the past is to back up my phone, after the restore you will lose everything on phone, except what is in the internal storage. Thanks again.
Hello,
I recently got a brand new DHD from T Mobile UK. Naturally, I wanted to get rid of the bloatware that came with it. To cut the long story short, I tried to install the cyanogenmod software and ended up bricking my phone. At first it would not get past the cyanogenmod start up screen (spinning smoke thing). Now it will not boot past the T Mobile logo.
I am desperate and any solution to give me back ANY funstionality of the phone would e great.
Kind Regards.
Sena.
Can you get into the bootloader? Try turning it off, then holding the power button and volume down - I think the easiest method is to hold volume down, press the power button for a few seconds (still holding volume), then let the power button go and after that the volume button. Seems to get me into the bootloader reliably.
If you can get into the bootloader, you should be able to flash back to the stock rom by placing a file on the SD card - not certain of the exact method there but someone will know
I wouldn't worry too much unless you were flashing the bootloader (hboot) to get s-off - as I understand it, the only real way to brick these devices is if you corrupt the bootloader.
What exactly did you do? I agree with the previous poster that you probably did not brick your phone you just need to get into the bootloader and flash a backup, if you made one. Also what ClockworkMod Recovery are you using. I know that if you flashed with 3.xxx you will need to flash an older version of CWM something like 2.xxx
If you give us more info we could prob help more

BAD Flash when updating radios, who can I pay to fix this?
Or anyone know of a way to fix this?
It appears to be bricked
When I flashed the ATT_Radio_Rhodium_4.48.25.95, I didn't rename it to RUU_Signed
Now I get nothing when I restart the phone, just a black screen.

is your phone a gsm rhodium or does it have a cdma module too?
Both I believe
This happened to me last night. I reflashed the ROM to fix it. I used MightROM which is FRIGGIN' Awesome if you ask me
In order to do that though you need to be CID unlocked though but basically as long as you are in the bootloader/bios then you can flash the new ROM from your PC via the USB. If you need any links to that stuff I can post, but I am not quite sure if this would be part of XDA or not (Is MightROM xda? Idk? PPCGeeks??)
You can also try holding down the Call answer and Call end buttons at the same time with the power button then put your battery in. This didn't work for me though, but I had to do this anyways after I flashed the ROM so it might work.
edit: Sorry I misread. I am not sure about the Black Screen. Might work though. I was in the bootloader/tricolor to reflash. Maybe your LCD is dead or something for all I know. Sorry Mate.

oh god then you flashed a GSM radio to a CDMA worldphone (just because it has a GSM module doesn't mean you can flash a GSM carrier radio to it... nope!!)
if you plug it into the PC does the PC try to install some USB driver?

It is simple. You obviously have a CDMA device. It doesn't matter if you use it on a GSM network. Your device is and always will be a CDMA device. NEVER try to flash ANYTHING GSM on it or you run the risk of permanently bricking it.
To fix this, you will need to grad the latest ROM update from either HTC's website, or your carrier's website. Put the device into bootloader mode by holding down the power button and pressing the tiny reset button under the battery cover with your stylus. Once it boots into the tri-colored screen (bootloader), you can then run the ROM update utility that you just downloaded. This will restore everything back to stock settings and you can try again. If you have already done Hard SPL, then it will NOT be overwritten, so don't worry.
Update
I cannot get into the tri-colored screen (bootloader).
How long do I need to hold in the reset and power button?
More than 1 min?

You can't get there, because you're doing it wrong. You need to hold down the volume down button and then press the reset button once. This gets you into the bootloader.

Holding down the volume down button and then pressing the reset button once, did not work for me.
How long do I hold the volume down button for?

Do you have power in the device? You need to have a battery in it. Also, the reset button might not power your device on. If your device doesn't turn on when you press the reset button, then just hold the volume down button and press the power button once instead. That ought to do it.
