Hiya
I was wondering if there's any desktop calendar that sits on the desktop (Not a vista gadget) and show the next x appointments and are sync-able with WM 6.1...
It doesn't matter if the phone needs to be hooked up (BT/cable) to sync correct... I know that google calandar does sync with wm, but i want my calendar to be show as a part of my desktop background
For instance like this but with the abillity to sync with my phone

Ok so far ive used oogsync to sync my calendar with google calendar and ADC can get the output from GC to be shown on my desktop - however im not able to edit any GC entry's and sync it back... But im allmost there

I'm distraught.
One of the companies I work for has upgraded to Exchange Server.
I have no problems getting mail on computer or phone, however, Outlook 2010 creates a new calendar and contact list that is almost *empty*
That is fine as well, as I have my own contact and calendar in Outlook.
But now, when I sync with HTC Sync - my contacts and calendar entries disappear from HTC Desire, and gets replaced with the ones in the Exchange Calendar & Contacts.
All I can choose from is PCSync - and on the android I can't specify which calendar and contact. In HTC Sync, I can't seem to select either, only Outlook as option (running HTC Sync 3.0.XXX) - latest
I tried to place everything on Google Calendar (even though I don't like privacy issues), but I have Windows 7 64 bit (and gee - nothing works well with 64 bit).
Unfortunately - I can't place my calendar entries on the company's server, since I work for different companies and don't want to give out certain contacts and issues...
Can someone help? Pretty please with cherry on top?
Regards.
Perhaps you could use a separate outlook profile for accessing this email account, so its not part of the default profile and should not sync to the phone.
I have a published Outlook Calendar, does anyone know if there is a way to sync it with the HTC calendar? My work doesn't have a exchange but it'd be nice to have all the calendars synced.
thanks!
You can use HTC Sync that comes with the phone, though I had problems with it and now use MyPhoneExplorer. If you haven't synced with a desktop calendar yet make sure you enter at least one entry onto the phone's calendar first or the sync won't happen.

I'm not trying to sync with a computer, I want to be able to sync with a web calendar which is just a ics file hosted remotely.
OK. MPE will sync with a local or remote 'ical' file. Go check it out at ... http://www.fjsoft.at/en/ ... and see if it'll do what you want. Their forums are quite responsive so ask there if not sure.

I realise that this does not fully answer your needs but you may find this info of use and it could well highlight some useful workarounds if needed.
You may find the info on calendar syncing here of help: http://www.tripit.com/uhp/calendarInfo#google. I have my HTC HD2 (with Android) syncing with Google Calendar and then sync my home PC Outlook 2007 2-way with Google Calendar. For this latter sync I use the free Google Calendar sync tool here: http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=89955
For me this works perfectly. If you use Outlook then do not forget that you can add a remote calendar to that - using the Google sync tool may then achieve what you want.
I find my solution works well because I have my calendar anywhere - on my phone, at home and online so even a dead phone means my calendar is to hand.
just in case i have never seen that MyPhoneExplorer was mentioned in the way i'd appreciate... i will do now.
This donateware syncs your Android device via WiFi or USB (Debugmode), it can sync with
- Windows-Addressbook
- Outlook 2010
- Thunderbird (!!!)
- GMail
- iCal (for Calendars)
I've not seen how it integrates into Outlook, but in Thunderbird it installs a plugin that let's you write SMS and initiate calls.
There also is a popup on your Desktop when you get called.
It is available in many languages. Available settings are almost complete.
I use it to sync my Thunderbirds at work and home and it does quite well also.
have fun

sorry, postet into i9000 accidentally, could you please move it to the right place?
I just got a Surface 2 and I'm trying to set it up and get familiar with it. I noticed that in Outlook I see default (local) contacts/people and calendar whereas I need to see my Outlook/cloud calendar and people that already sync on my desktop PC. I selected folders and then the Hotmail calendar and I see that it stays like that. When I do the same with People, it always returns to the local (empty) one. How can I make the Hotmail contacts be selected as default contacts?
thinking of coming across from my Samsung SG20 and i like how i can sync my desktop outlook calendar to it via smart switch. does this pixel pro have somethin like that? i DO NOT want to use GMAIL. i want to sync my desktop outlook calendar. cant find anything on the interwebs....
thanks
Use Outlook mobile? But I guess you don't want that either?
Use "MyPhoneExplorer"!
I use it to sync my Company Outlook with my phone´s calender and contacts.
Be careful in wich direction the first sync works... you could delete one side!
After that it works flawless...

+1 I use it also for my work calendar since there is no other way. As mentioned, pay attention to the synchronization setup.
To sync calendars, you will either need a host service (basically any email service provider that supports either Microsoft Exchange or CalDAV), or a service running on the computer you want to sync from (plus access to the computer from the phone, so things like ngrok, or a VPN - not talking about commercial VPN services that make you appear you're browsing from another country, but an actual, proper VPN that creates a virtual local network, or e.g. ZeroTier).
Haven't seen anyone clamoring for this feature since the WinMo days.
I've been using companion link for outlook desktop for years. i'm still on the original version 7 and it works great with most recent outlook and my p6p. They're on version 9 or 10 now but 7 works for me so I've not upgraded it.
It called deja office now not companion link.

Slightly off-topic, but if you want to sync your Outlook work calendar with a Gmail calendar, look at Gsyncit. It can sync Outlook cals to several different programs. It won't sync mail, but it works great on cals. It's automatic, (you can have it sync anytime a cal entry is updated), and runs in the background. It's pretty cheap too. It's how I get my work cal on my phone without installing all the MDM my company requires.
