Ever since i installed wm6 (black dymond or black 3.1), I can not connect to the internet using wifi.
It show i am connected to my router with good signal, but can not access any web site using IE. I am not connecting thry a proxy.
Can anyone help?
what carrier are you using
Try to disable the proxy and see what happens...long time problem for Cingular/At&t users...
If it's just throught WiFi that you have a problem then go to Settings / Connections / WiFi
Then click on the tab for Network Adaptors and ensure that the drop-down shows ... "My network card connects to: The Internet".
There is another more detailed explanation of this elsewhere in the forums - may need to search to find it.
Multiple proxies...ugh
I'm not sure which proxy you are talking about...but on my WM6, I had to go into the Windows menu -> Programs -> Proxy Manager -> and select Disable Proxy for my Wifi to work. It seems like this program shortcut is independent from "Connections" proxy settings.
Try that and see if it works. It fixed my problem.

I will try the proxy manger.
I do have the connect to "the internet" box checked under Wifi tab.
not linked to black only
After a lot of effort I can now connect to a secure network but have no internet either. With a unsecure network I have no problems with the internet. strange. I have tried a few roms and for me they all share this problem.
I do not have a seperate program for proxy server to disable!!
When I tried the Black Dymond, I downloaded Custals Proxy cabs as I had the same issue. Here it is....
I have black 3 and I have the same problem. When I connect to an unsecure and opened wifi, I am cannot connect with ie. I am getting "page is not found'.
I do not have the proxy manager in programs. I have selected 'internet' for wifi. any solutions?
I am trying to access the internet from my laptop using my O2 PDA as the modem with no success. I can access the internet on the phone OK. I link the phone to the laptop using the usb cable but I'm unable to access the internet.
I am running Vista Home Premium and Windows mobile 6.
Any suggestions?
Hi,
Enable Internet Connection Sharing option found in the Setting of the Mobile. This is a add on from WM 6 onwards.

Whre abouts exactly. I have looked through the settings and can't find it

Wi-Fi should be the preffered network over GPRS EDGE.
Someone will have a better answer than me, but what you can do is go to your GPRS setting in settings\connections\GPRS and change the GPRS from being on Internet to Work, not the greatest way but i use it to stop GPRS due to being on a very limited data package.
I put the GPRS connection to work, and i think its using my wifi connection now. Can Opera mini use the wifi connection or is it only GPRS, when i try to go to a site it might cost me airtime.

Mini can use wi-fi, the way you will tell not using GPRS is that above the signal bar u will not have a little g, not to be confused with the big G in the middle of top to which just says GPRS is available.

Hi community !
Does anyone know how to share wired internet from the laptop, over wifi, to the Android phone ? What if the wired network (LAN) goes through a proxy server ?
What tools do we need, what settings has to be done ?
I think I found a solution only for the first part of my query, the LAN without proxy.
Please provide instructions on how to make a proper configuration. I did search on multiple forums, none of them are showing comprehensible way to accomplish this.
Thank you
To provide any help we would need to know your operating system, I think this is pretty obvious. Here are instructions to share your connection on Windows 7: http://lifehacker.com/5369381/turn-your-windows-7-pc-into-a-wireless-hotspot
Proxy configuration is located under advanced options when connecting to a WiFi network.
I'm using Windows 7.
Thanks for the tip on where the proxy settings location is in Android, for Wifi.
I'm still not able to connect using proxy on Wifi.
For Android, is there any similar location to enter proxy but for the mobile network, not the Wifi network?
Sent from my D5503 using Tapatalk
Settings => More.. => Mobile networks => Access Point Names => Click on the APN which is checked
You can also use the app ProxyDroid if you're rooted.
