recommended Brain Trainer - Touch HD Themes and Apps

Hi,
I know of Resco and SPB, however are there any recommendations as to which Brain Trainer to go for?
Thanks

The new Resco Brain Games (v3.00) display very well on WVGA..
And the games aren't that bad
It's only a shame you can't change the volume in the game (you'll have to mute the whole phone)
Spb Brain Evolution only supports QVGA and VGA...
Grtz,
Degake

I prefer the SPB which I had on a Touch Pro and it was good. But, it is not working well on the HD when I tried it a few months ago. Maybe they have a version now for the HD.
Resco I have also and it works fine.

Mr. Genius Vol.1 is also ok, best score is 1679.. Took a lot of bus rides though.

Games on Artemis

I happen to travel a lot, and often end up checking the same stuff over and over again on the net.
And i am getting sick and tired of Solitaire
Does anyone know of a fun game, wich doesnt get old to quickly? (i dont mind paying for a really good game, but freeware is welcome to)
Also i have been looking for something like a GBA emulator but they are few and far between.
So if anyone knows of a good working Emulator (with sound!) feel free to point me at it
Also, any way to get MSN to work on the Artemis?
What about emulator of GB/GBC - Pocketgnuboy, it's free and has hundreds of games.

Dunno if this helps, but I've had some fun with there:

Bejeweled (and BJ II), Zooma, Another Ball, Go, Backgamon.
Enjoy
Can anyone advise how to play worms world party as there is no d-pad?
Where are the games for these emulators? Haven't found any.
Thanks

I'd probably get into trouble for saying the exact sites, but Google sure does pick up a lot of details and the SCUMMVM program should have some free* games (BASS, etc) on the site.
The only one thats a major issue is the Playstation emulator which is both slow and of course the lack of buttons on the phone. Other than that, the emulators work brilliantly.
*free as in they've been included on cover discs of magazines, etc.
I'll take a look at that PocketGNUboy, thanx!
ScummVM does not seem to have a Windows Mobile 5 version, or does it?
Then there's MSN, did they stop making that for PDA's?

You can use the 2003 version, that works fine.
SuDoKu
I sudoku most times...the games always makes you think differently, even if playing the same game...good for your brain cells.
The version I downloaded....now I cant remember where from is Superdoku - google it.
All the best
anyone?? RE: no d-pad on worms. it's very inconvenient try to use the scroll wheel or the roller ball and you can be precise and u have to keep repeating rather than holding a button.

Not really, i installed that version and my clock dissapeared, i needed to reset my device to get it back :/
I'm not a hard player but I've been looking for a good PPC game for a long time. Got really bored with Solitaire. Tried chess and a few other games. The problem always was that PPC is not a very good platform for complicated games especially if it comes to controls. Recently I found a game that is great. Well - it's not free but kills the time perfectly. It's Virtual Pool Mobile by Celeris. The graphic is cool, fantastic phisics model and very easy control. You can play and play. Many modes to choose. I recomend it.
P.S.
I don't work for them

- Resco Diamonds
- Worms World Party
- Resco Guardians Ultimate Collection
i'm still having no luck playing worms without a d-pad on the orbit. can ANYONE help me?!
The PDA Mill collections are really cool I love PDAMill Gamebox Classics. Has very addictive puzzle games with nice sound and graphics. If you like asian games like Sokoban you can also try PDA Mill Gamebox Asia!
Sky Force 1.1 is another game to recommend. It also plays nicely with the trackball Same with the free Space Invaders you can get from Microsoft if you register for the Win Mobile Newsletter
Have fun.
The lack of a pad is really the only weakness of the Artemis I've found so far but it's not that tragical with games.
Girders... not free but great

Some more must have games:
1. Bounty Hunter 2099 - Fantastic pinball!!!!
2. Fishopolis - You must shoot fishes Sound lunatic, but is fantastic in reality. The game uses the camera as a motion detector
3. Age of Empires Gold - You should know what this is and it is very, very good on the PPC...
4. 9 Hole Golf - Cool 3D golf and completely free. Get it from Microsoft.com
5. Need for Speed: High Stakes - Another PC port to the PPC. Plays with the touchscreen...
6. Tomb Raider - Lara in your pocket (tm). Too good to miss if you are into young sexy brunettes

just paid £12 for it looks like its worth it cheers for the tip

Help me from being so bored at work! Post your favorite apps!

I just loaded Schap's WM6 Pro 4.00 Beta 3 ROM (CE 5.2.1933 build 18533.0.7.0) from the forum. I followed the guide, updated the bootloader, the radio, etc. Its great, quite an update from the WM5 that ships with the hermes (8525). BUT, I want more.
I then loaded SNES, with super mario world, and the genesis emulator with sonic the hedgehog, which is great, but the phone buttons are a bit lacking. still it keeps me occupied on my stupid 30 minute break at work that I would happily give up to go home 30 minutes earlier.
So heres the reason i'm posting...
What are your favorite apps? I've tried the flashlight app (cool), the new comm manager (cool), and the new office that comes in the rom. Its all impressive, but i'm hoping theres more stuff to play with out there. I whip out my phone constantly when i'm bored and play with the settings, and change the theme, and just in general see what I can get it to do.
Let me know what apps you like, and preferably put some links up. If you would do me a favor, try to keep discussion about how much you like or dislike someone's posted app. THANKS ALL, and thanks for keeping my brain from nullifying into goo when i'm bored.
My fav pasttime is the Bejeweled game, quite addicting (and I have an addictive personality, which helps, LOL! )
My clients like that along with Texas Holdem, Blackjack and Backgammon.
Of course the MobiTV and Cingular XM Radio's are also nice...
I've seen scores of Games and Apps posted by 100's of members all over the forum. Frankly, I never did like most of the games for some reason. I always wanted something that was action packed, easy to play in terms of controls, fast and snappy. All this and more I found in Tennis Addict by Hexacto / Jamdat. Believe me... it's a highly addictive game. You can't ever put the stylus back into the silo after this
The only other game aside from this that I enjoyed playing was Atlantis Redux 1.4 by Tetraedge. It's a 3D adventure game like Myst.... but much, much, much better. This is really a fantastic game. Great story... very intriguing, very simple controls... you don't need a rocket science degree to navigate through it and it has out of this world graphics.
I've recently started playing Syberia, although I must say I fancy it a lot lesser than Atlatis Redux.
That's what I do on my PPC to keep from getting bored. Oh and ofcourse there is Age of Empired Gold Edition.
For me the favorite past time is Mike Miller's SuperDoku. And trying to find interesting freeware on the net. Right now it is WkTask and QuickMenu 2.7.
HandySwitcher. I would die with out it.
Opera Mini (Java App.... hopefully you know what this is)
PIE+ (Add-on for PIE. Great add-on
Weather Panel (Today screen weather)
Games:
I'm a fan of Insaniquarium, SPB Minesweeper II, Titanic, and Kevtris.
Good on-the-crapper games
How have we got this far in the topic without mentioning
- Worms World Party (best loo game EVER)
- Tomb Raider (make mates jealous)
- Coreplayer 1.1 (encode some Family Guy episodes with PocketDivxEncoder and laugh through your break)
- TCPMP with FLV plugin and www.mobytube.net (trawl YouTube whenever you're bored or need to entertain the kids)
- SPB Arkaball 2 (great Arkanoid game)
- All Mobile Mines (great Minesweeper clone)
- Another World (found in the Xda-Dev FTP, was a big fan of Amiga version & this is a perfect copy)
Think that'll do for now!
Ohhh yeah, Worms World Party! Haven't played that one in a while... really gotta fire that one back up soon.
....
I mainly want to bump this thread but I like:
TCPMP
Vtap - youtube vids made easy
opera mini
MS Live Search w/ voice (for traffic and business listings)
Google Maps

Applications and Software for Dutty V3

Yea, as the title suggested, I'm looking for nice applications that Dutty v3 can support. Anyone has any list or if possible screenshots with the links to the cab/zip/whatever, please attach it as well.
This is kinda troublesome because I noticed some programs are not working in Dutty's rom and I'm sure I missed out a lot of cool stuffs out there.
So, anyone?
Well i installed the latest Dutty's ROM and here are the applications and games that i'm currently running on my HD for now
Quick menu
Resco explorer
Alex showaco icons

I didn't experience any problem with any application I installed so far on Dutty's 3 Xtreme. No diffetences from all previous releases since 1.7. Things seem to run even better. This includes;

Gclippers
Xtrakt
Monopoly Here and Now
Max Manila editor
And some other stuff (don't have my phone on me right now)

All The Best Apps You've Found For Your Blackstone

HTC TOUCH HD
Overview
Okay so all over this forum there's people asking for the best apps for the HD, well why not just make the one that people can post all of their favourite and best apps for their phone.
I don't mean the working software sticky that has everything, some that don't even work, I mean the customers choice as to whats best, both free and paid for.
The iPhone is one hell of a competition and for us WM users we need stuff that makes the WM phones just as good and with that we need the best apps, Microsoft is soon to be bringing out Marketplace but until then this'll have to do.
Happy App hunting folks.
Good Apps
okay so here goes.
Games
Need for speed Undercover
No Limit Aces Texas Hold'em
Lemonade Tycoon
Scrabble
Sim City 2000
Touch The Music
Pocket Uno
Helicopter
Morphgear
Other Little Apps
Facebook App
TomTom Navigator 7
Co Pilot
Skype
SPB Finance
SPB Wallet
Google Maps
HD Tweak
VoiceTwister
Coreplayer
what about xtrakt? its not a fantastic game but the graphics are good. the VR hologram app is also a fun app to play with.
music id (although the omnia's midomi is supposed to be superior), google maps, modaco nodata (disables GPRS), resco bubbles and brain games, shootme (gun app) and VS notepad (paid) are my favourites
I really appreciate the "Mobile Wifi Router" in blackstone. So far none of my friends actually think there's a pda that can do such thing.
Resco file explorer (paid) is a must have for me.
The first soft that comes everytime after a reflash to my Touch HD is TotalCommander (free), the second one is G-Alarm (paid).
For Geocaching its GCzII (free), for a quick Game its Chuzzle (paid) and Pocket Uno (free), for Music its MortPlayer (oh, and don't forget MortButtons, both free and despite the fact its quite useless (or you want to play a bit on the nerves of your colleagues *g*) i like the Clanger Theremin App *g*
A few Days ago i found an App for Banking on WinMobile, called "Subsembly Banking Mobile", everything you need for yor daily money-shifting, i think i will buy it, 'cause its working flawless 'till now and looks good so far.
greets
Seth73
I have TomTom 7 and Memory map on mine with all CAA charts. It is a total god send when you get sent in the field to pick up an aircraft.
This phone is perfect except for two things.
Iphone has aviation weather and loads of games.
Still wouldn't trade it though.
HDWobble or HDBoobs is a nice toy
And the Lightsaber. And BeMario is nice too
Pretty similar thread here:
What software do you have installed on your HD?
I've only just got my THD, and am still building it to me liking, so am interested in these kinds of threads

The best programs nobody told you about?

Curious... I see a lot of good programs on here named over an over but there's also **** I've come across and haven't seen many people mention..
I see a lot of SPB mobile shell talk, and its GREAT software.. also heard about PointUI (wasnt a fan though)
But I never heard about Winterface? And so far I like it better then both.. maybe because I was used to SPB an this is new but I'm lovin it, it's a simple interface, runs real smooth, and does everything I want..
Other programs I heard rarely or just missed the memo on..
BeeJive IM
Panoramic MoTweets
SK Tools
Speed Booster
UCWEB
Opera Mini (through java)
Task Facade
I don't use task facade now that I been using Winterface.. didn't with SPB either, but it was nice with TouchFLO
Any others ya'll have come across but never really were told about?
And anyone using Opera 10 beta? I got it but it seems to close before I get to do much in the browser, I'm guessing cause it's beta it must not be completely compatible? The whole interface and options are WAY better then the 9.5 one that comes with NFSFans ROM.. personally the 9.5 runs slow for me I'm forced to use opera mini through java its the smoothest browser I've ever used but it doesn't do videos (not even sure if opera 9.5 does? I know the explorer that came with the ROM does but I don't like that either really..)
Kinoma Play- slightly memory intensive, but it's my favorite music player. I'm still on Vin's lightning fast 23506 ROM so I don't really miss any of the memory it uses.
Opera 10 beta is really nice(I haven't had it crash??). I just miss the zoom bar occasionally, but I've just started using the d-pad to select links instead of zooming down to where I could click them. It has it's own ideas sometimes on how to deal with long or complex websites, but overall I enjoy it's aesthetics. If you're having trouble with it go back to opera's website and make sure you have the latest release.
I use Bing more than I thought I would. I really like its phone book/yellow page functions.
I tried using Task Facade a while back when I was running NFSFAN v12 or so and at that time I thought it was to slow and laggy. Now that I'm running Vin's speed demon 23506 ROM I have started using Task Facade and I really like it. There is almost no lag and with it mapped to the camera button I don't miss having HTC's Task Manager at all.
yeah i had used it with NFSFan and it worked fine, task facade was a great program
ill re-install opera 10 im not sure what it is, like i said tho maybe it isnt compatible with NFSFans ROM.. cause he has the 9.5 that comes with it, probably for good reason
I'm liking opera mini. It seems to load a lot faster then opera 9.7
Yeah unbelievably faster.. I do like Opera 10 beta though
skyfire 1.5 is my fave
Showcase Task Manager.
Manila 2d like interface. EXTREMELY nice and fingerfriendly.
also. fartmachine. (immature there) and pocket noise (both xda+ppc devs included). extremely amusing.
Does anyone have any good programs involving things like...
Stocks?
Stock information/updates?
Are there any alternative web browsers worth looking for other than these...?
UCWEB
Skyfire
Opera
Iris
Netfront
Anyone know of any good skins for Winterface? (the original is the best, the others have to big of icons for me)
I'm tryin think of more things... hmm..
Anyone have any programs they've always wondered about and never came across?
I just flashed Vins V_4 and have been using the M2DC manila customizer by Mpenguin14 and its a great program for anyone using M2D.
I like your initiative. Some titles are not so popular because not every developer pays for the marketing. And most users buy what they are told to.
Regarding your list and internet browsers I've seen an interesting one, I think it was called touch browser, very similar to the Android one.
I like:
Thumbcal
G-Alarm
Resco contacts
All three greatly improved WM funtions and make them more finger friendly.
Another program that greatly improves the "finger-friendliness" is SMS-Chat by Vito Tech. The stock SMS for WM has never been very good, which is something I hope changes with WM7, but in the meantime this is a great substitute and has some really nice skins that you find right here on XDA.
im a huge fan of SOTI pocket controller. Granted its not exactly PPC software, but it really is nice for when im working on my desktop/laptop and need to access phone files or send out a text.
Or when tinkering with it in general : )
S2P
TCPMP
Advanced Config
PocketCM Contacts
PCM Keyboard (much lighter than Fingerkeyboard 2.1)
Gen.Y DualBOOT
CleanRam
PHM Regedit
Notepad
File Explorer Extension
A good Android build
I use a lot more stuff, but these are really the essentials for my Vogue (IMHO).
I was using PCM keyboard, recently switched to zoomboard before i flashed to android, seemed to work a touch better for my big dumb fingers.
These make WinMo tolerable for me:
Windows Mobile 6.5.3+
ArkSwitch Task Manager (for 6.5.3+)
PhonEx Dialer (for 6.5.3+) -- sooo much better than any dialer out there, including the HTC GSM Dialer. You get a great full-screen predictive dialer, with smooth contact swipe scrolling. Only contact manager where swipe scrolling works on the vogue (without me accidentally dialing someone). Also it preserves the stock WM dialer for phone codes, and is fast! Comes with slide-2-answer.
EzInput 2.1 / Swype
Things I hate / want to die:
Going through three screens to acknowledge or answer a text message
The above, for missed calls
Internet browser -- None work well, Opera Mobile 10.5u seems the best, but I much prefer the Android browser
Battery life is the only reason I haven't switched fully to android yet.
You always hear a lot of talk about Swype, but you rarely ever hear about the similar, but much smoother SlideIT keyboard. I've used Swype and Shapewriter, but SlideIT is probably my favorite keayboard.
I'm a big fan of SPB Radio. Best app on WinMo.
A great app for music is nanogroove, you can stream your music and custom playlists from the grooveshark.com website. I also use SPBMobile Shell and zoomboard. All excellent software.
