Is anyone having similar problem to this - I am using CorePlayer 1.3.0.6213, when MP3s are played, every now and then there is something like a "crack" in sound during playback.
It's not regular, happens randomly. Never experienced that on my previous device - HTC Kaiser.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
G
edit: I have increased playback priority in CorePlayer, doesn't help.
Playback problems..
If you SEARCH for 'Soundlag' you will find this issue has been covered extensively in other threads, the problem afflicts nearly all the new HTC devices. Prepare to be disappointed
Sometimes I have this problem - what keywords to use for searching

Just upgraded to ROM 1.40.00 O2 Asia, and find that I get no sound from Media PLayer. I've seen a post earlier which suggested that switching flight mode on then off may solve this. I did this and it seemed to work but not every time. Does anyone have a definitive fix for this issue? Thanks.
Sorry if no one has answered you. I am also sorry that I have no good news for your problem with no sound since version140 Asia was very good to me. I'm just posting to give you sound advise.
1. what was lacking in the prior version that made you upgrade?
2. was it working 100% before you upgraded?
3. are you prepared for the frustrations if you don't get your problem solved?
4. don't abandon the unit, because when it works 100% it is a great product
5. if it's not in the wiki and no one is able to help you, I would downgrade to previouse version if you can't live with MP10
Haha, I've sent my set back for servicing and told them this problem.
I've yet to find a fix for it yet, but i believe it is a conflict between some application or with the bluetooth. I've tried removing bluetooth from start up but it didn't seemed to help.
I've done a little of search and seemed that it only happens when you close WMP when the audio file is still being played. If you were to pause or stop it before closing, the no sound issue would not happen.
Any other users can comfirm this? How many users have this problem besides the Incoming call no sound issue?
Still looking for a fix/patch to this.
i believe you are correct omega. I upgraded to the O2Asia 1.40 ROM. Use media player a lot, but always stop or pause music before exiting. Never had a problem (touch wooð

chris
Thanks
Thanks everyone. At least there's a simple workaround for this.

If you were to use Betaplayer (TCPMP), there shouldn't be any problem. So far after associating my mp3/wav and etc to TCPMP, I have yet to experience any No Sound issues outside of calls.
Hello,
I just got my HTC One X a few days ago (white, o2-branded) and it has a quite annoying bug:
Everytime a sound (no matter if music, a game or just the volume adjustment sound) starts or ends, the phone makes a "clicking" sound. It sounds a bit like a camera shutter.
Hear for yourself:
(had to break up link because this is my first post, just remove the spaces)
youtu. be/thTyeud5foc
I contacted HTC's support and they told me it wasn't reported before and I should take my phone back to the store I bought it from.
Now my question:
- Has anyone else reported or read about that bug? Goggle couldn't tell me.
- o2 didn't deliver the 1.28 Update yet. Could it be a software problem? I remember some custom DHD kernels having similar issues. So should I just wait for the update?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Cheers,
Phil

It happens with poweramp ... When you open it !
Sent from my HTC One X
I don't have poweramp installed...
On my phone, it happens whenever a sound starts/ends, no matter which app it is
Update:
It seems equalizer (an app I installed) is causing it. I didn't realize I had installed it, it was auto-restored by google when I got my new phone. As soon as I deinstalled it and rebooted the phone, the problem was gone. That's sad, because I don't like beats audio but want to be able to slightly increase the bass for some songs.
Anyone know another good equalizer app, preferrably with preset-widget-buttons on homescreen?
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
i have the same, sounds like the camera lense is tapping the plastic
Check if you have Any app installed that alters your Sound, like equalizer, poweramp or similar. For me the clicking went away after I deinstalled and restarted the phone. You should probably untick quickstart before restarting.
It can be caused by DSPManager, disable all the tweaks for the speaker and reboot, works a treat.

Also can be caused by the virtual room settings, I would leave that disabled too.

I have the same issue. Stock phone, no root, Tmobile.
Hey guys
I picked up a One X on T-Mobile UK the other day (stock, not rooted yet) and I get exactly the same thing. I've only noticed it when playing music through Play Music (sideloaded the app via an apk found here), but now I'm going to look out for it when playing videos.
Given the comments made about poweramp and other equalisers, I suspect that it's something to do with the Beats Audio gubbins that comes pre-installed. So much for "studio quality sound", eh?
Hi,
mine issue is somehow close to yours.
When I connect my HOX to external speakers there is some sound like click which is heard every time s sound is produced by the phone. This click i hear in the beginning and the end of the original sound (music, notification, etc.). It's quite annoying as long as the overall sound quality of the phone is satisfying to me.
Also I dont have none apps affecting audio quality. Only the stock player + sound cloud + pocket casts.

I'm having a similar problem to others in this thread. I haven't installed any sound-altering apps, and no other adjustments have been made, yet whenever a sound plays a slight audio click follows... If anyone has an idea of how to solve this, I'd be very grateful. I'm on T-Mobile. Thanks!

I see on the FAQ that I should "disable any audio effects/audio DSPs to reduce the vibrations of the DAC"...
How do I do this, please? And is this only relevant if you've activated effects already? Thanks.
Is this problem still ongoing for most?
I got this phone for my cuz. When i tested the camera i heard the sound and thought was a camera thing and could be off if the camera shutter sound was disabled
after handing over the phone to him he says he still hears the sound whenever he plays any kind of audio
It was a stock phone from Verizon so I can't tell if any other apps were installed
I'll check and follow the instructions here then let you guys know.
If I find anything else that i can share to help out will also share that
G
That click sound is because of our ****ty DAC ... So if you want to have bad sound quality for example uninstall all equalizer apps...if you want to have better, then keep it and live with it that it will click sometimes...after a while it should disappear

Ok cool ONEX Master I'll see if it does go away.
Thought it was in fact a hardware issue.
Cause right now out of the country and have no simple way of just returning it.
Will upgrading the ROM or rooting and changing the ROM help?

it won't help normally as most EQ/DSP are producing this sound...it's because the DAC is forced to end sound so it will produce that click sound, but after a while it should be gone
Hi guys,
i've installed OTA 1.29.401.11 on my HTC One X but now, during reproduction of a youtube video, i hear many "clicks"...it seem like the very old cd burners when they aren't capable to extract the tracks.
Someone has the same problem?
Thanks
Exactly the same happen to me!
Sounds good to me that the problem isn't only mine.
I don't know if the issue depends on the last OTA.
I had this once and rebooting the phone cured it. It affected all audio for me including videos in the gallery
Don't have that problem. But a reboot of the phone might help or check if the youtube application needs an update...
do you have the same problem when using a headset?
I thought it's somehow related to the YT app itself. It's the only one I'm getting these audio clicks and stutters in. The problem gets especially crazy I have Audio FX Widget turned on (absolutely no problem in any other apps that play audio).
Hi all,
I've just recently purchase a Surface RT, am still getting use to Win RT environment.
There is a slight issue, is there anyway to fix the audio lag issue?
I've tried playing 1080p videos, 720p videos (WMV, MKV, MP4) without any lag using mobile.HD. But when I switched on the subs, the audio lags behind for 5, 6 seconds. I've used the performance tips given by the Internet (disable windefender, disable animations, and stuff), nothing seems to be working.
Anyone has the same problem? Or ways to solve it?
Sounds like an app problem more than anything else. I've never tried, so I can't suggest anything better, but it's been a common discussion thread here.
I've gone through any available thread on the internet with regards to the issue, seems that no one has replied to this particular issue. I've tried many players, none of them works without the audio lag. Guess will have to wait till VLC is released.
On the plus side, that *is* coming, sometime... so there will be that, at least.
Hello,
I'm using Pocket Casts as my podcast app on my Elephone. I have two problems:
1. It does not remember at which minute I paused the podcast
2. If I want to speed up the playback (1.1x - 1.3x) or use the "Volume boost" or "Remove Silence" option it stutters and is not useable anymore.
The thing is it happens with another podcast app too. But as I used my Galaxy Nexus it worked like a charm. I believe the problem comes from the phone. Has anybody the same issues with podcast apps?
I'm currently using the most recent stock rom on my Elephone.
I tried to switch on/off the special Elephone audio settings. No impact.

I can confirm your first problem and did some research on this, but it is hard to drill down. For me this does not happen all the time. Sometimes a reboot solves the problem for quite some time, sometimes not. I use BeyondPod podcatcher but also tried AntennaPod which is the same.
I think the problem is a faulty mp3 library or something similar, because I cannot reproduce this behavior with m4a (MPEG-4 Audio) files.
Regarding your second problem, I have only some stuttering when starting the podcast playback for up to 10 seconds, after that the playback is OK.

I tried podcast republic now and it works so far. They have special "Lab" settings in which you can activate soft decoding.
I have another question. Does anyone have some experience with podcast apps used with the Eragon rom. Did the behavior change? Was it fixed there?

Just for your information, I use CM12.1 by now and do not experience any problems with podcast playback.
