Hi to all!
After trying almost every app that locks the screen and keys so it can prevent accidentally pressing the answering key or reject or both :-D i decide to build my own (had a little extra time).
This is a specially light release for HTC Diamond, HD, Touch Pro (v1.0 and v1.1 tested by me)
WHAT IT CAN DO:
The only thing that it can do is lock the buttons and screen when you switch on your phone or an incoming call has arrived.
USAGE:
To unlock just slide down a 45% (could be a user define value... later) of the screen and..... that's it!
SETUP:
No setup (yet) just create a folder in your \Program Files (ex. \Program Files\LockMeLite) and after you download the .zip file extract it and copy the LockMeLite.exe and the CloseLmL.exe to the folder you've just create.
Execute it and your good to go.
EXIT:
Want to exit the application?
v1.0 just tap 3 times on the screen and a message will appear.
v1.1 just execute CloseLmL and select 'Yes' on the message.
REBOOT:
After a reboot you must manually start the application again.
RUNTIME:
Requires .NET Compact Framework 3.5
This is the required runtime library from MS. If you don't have it.
If you are having problem downloading this try to right click on the link and choose "Save link as..."
After downloading copy the file to your mobile and execute it.

This one was just a "last night release"
I hope you enjoy it. Its free after all
PS1. After getting a message for a kind donation i include the button on the bottom.
PS2. Any donation, small or large, helps this project continues. Thanks again !
Hi geoks100
Great application. Looks and feel super. The only features i miss is to display missed calls and sms notification on screen and also incoming caller display. You writes that you already made these features.
Can I have for try a new version?
Do not forget. Keep so simple and small the program.
Thanks a lot
wyro
PS: Sorry for my bad English. I hope you understand it nevertheless.
great application .. really love it.
could you add battery meter and missed phones ... sms ...
maybe as an add on .
but a must is incoming caller . also on icoming calls the bottom bar is flickering ... the one where the keyboard icon sits .
i mean really keep it simple and fast .

Yes i know it's the phones app that is trying to come in front.
I will leave this "bug" for later release
I'm trying to keep it simple and fast.
this is exactly what i like about this app , simple and fast .
but i would really like to know how's calling me
just name and number ... for eg . simple , elegant .
must think of a way (clever way) to answer the phone safely . it happens often to me to reject an incoming call or answer by mistake when i pull it out of the jacket or pants (don't think dirty , ok ! )
Very nice app

So when you pull it out of you jacke or pants (i don't think dirty) you slide the 45% and also answer/reject the call ???? Men you have some clever jacket/pants
If the slide would be not from top to bottom but bottom to top ?? (if i get you correctly) or you just slide it in your pocket upside down.
yup , something like that ... any way really good job.

great work,thanks
Great Program.
Can you make the backgroud transparent? Would be better for incoming calls.
And an option to toggle off the 3 taps to end the program. Or make more taps cause if I pull it out of my pocket I happens that I tap the touchdisplay.
Keep this program so small as you can and it would be the best locking program ever I think.
I'm trying to download this app, but its giving me erro that i need to have the latest .net... can you all guys help on how to get the latest .net..
Thanks in advance....

Until i upload the .NET Compact Framework 3.5 runtime try to download it from MS
You must install first this on your pc and then get the appropriate .cab (ex wm,ppc, wce) from the install directory and install it on your device.
May we see some screen shots?
thanks
it's really simple ... black screen , clock on top . when you slide your finger down a % appears . when go over 45% it turns green and when you lift your finger the screen is unlocked.
simple and luvely.
Hi,
installed the app and it works very well on power off/on. - very nice and simple.
Then I had an incoming call while it was off and the screen didnt come up locked - it was straight into the answer ignore screen and unlocked ?

WM6 Easter Eggs - WM6 Features (search terms)
This is a list of new and little known features in WM6.
Please add any I miss to this thread and I will try to put them in this post (with credit of course)
1. Typing on the keyboard on the today screen will automatically bring up the phone with matching contacts. Certain phone skins do not support this and you will just get a text box with scroll bars covering half the screen but nothing in it. If this happens switch your phone app with the Tweak app (varies depending on who’s WM6 you are running)
2. From Messaging (Outlook, SMS, MMS, [POP/IMAP? not tested] ) if you start typing it will search through your messages for whatever you type. Hold “H” for a list of shortcuts. I think the shortcut keys mean hold that letter.
3. Under calendar; If you create a new appointment and decide you don’t want it, you can now pres menu and cancel (cancel was not in wm5)
4. When typing in WiFi keys (WPA, WEP, whatever) you can actually see what you are typing instead of just ******.
5. The new feature I found that I love is if you go into the options for the calendar you can now set it to start in Month view (or whatever view you prefer). I couldn't stand the fact that WM5 kept reverting back to agenda!
(Thanks chymmylt!)
6. The camera finally keeps adjustments like contrast and sharpness saved.
Previously if you soft reset or power off and on the phone, these settings would always revert back to the defaults.
(Thanks abubasim!)
7. In Contacts, when you edit a contact you now have 'File As' useful if you want Forename Surname instead of the default Surname, Forename
(Thanks nbedford! [I installed the "File As" plugin and never noticed that it the ability to change it was built in =)] )
8. In Outlook, if you [Reply All] by default it copies your own email address into the recipient list, so you receive your own mails, even if you auto-save them already in Sent Folder. I found that extremely annoying because with every [Reply All] I had to manually remove my email address before sending.
You can avoid this easily:
1. Programs -> ActiveSync
2. Menu -> Options
3. Select the E-mail information type and tap Settings
4. Tap Advanced
5. Enter the e-mail address you want to remove when replying to all senders in My e-mail addresses
(Thanks aublumberg, This applys to WM5 also but not to many people know this one.)
Let me know if this is a waste of space, and if not, lets keep this thread on topic and point out all the fun reasons to use WM6.
Later, Lew
thanks. couple those i didnt know about.
not quite "easter eggs" though are they
thanks for sharing this information
i found the firts two points very usefull, and (correct me if i'am wrong) due to the lack of a propper wm6 manual i think this thread comes quite handy

Bump for added Features.
Not new, but little known and well hidden:
- press and hold the action button
- tap and hold the clock in the title bar until the dots stop moving
- when you release both the stylus and the action button, you get a small menu with an "execute" (or "run") entry. Tap that to get sort of a command line prompt.
Cheers
Daniel

In the interest of WIKI and promoting the use of knowledge being written once and used many times, there is already a knowledgebase for this with lots of stuff, if you can add yours and close this, everybody will know where to go for their easter eggs...

Tap and hold the clock on the title bar lets you switch between digital and analog disply - no idea that happened until now!
I guess, you already know this...
Pressing the "power button" for 3 seconds turns off (not just standby) the device (with WM2003 it wasn't possible...)
This is probably an old one but I didn't know it myself until Googling for it:
In Solitaire, open the on-screen keyboard, tap Ctl and Shift and then Deal. It gives you the perfect hand.

Hi guys .. I just updated my htc from the old great tytn to the tp2
and I LOVE it
but i have some questions.
I tried the search as the seniors adviced but i didnt find an answer , hope u forgive me if my search was not that good.
my questions so far are:
1- in the call history there is no colour diff between miss calls or incoming or outgoing calls...all in black and white ..just the arrows to diff them..
is there a way to make them with colours using the defult theme?
2- in the new start there is some icons can not be removed or even moved to another place ( home , people , Calender and setting )
is there a way to change that ? even just to move them below only?
3- to answer the phone we must slide the button to the grean area, which i find silly why i can't just tap the great area to answer, is there a way to modify that ?
4- i found a way here in another thread to stop the new useless notification area, and i can tab the battery, volum and the network provider as in the old versions.
but is there a way to make the new notification area usefull and keep it rather than just disable it?
5- is there away to see my inbox sms's in the normal fashion not in the conversations way ?? i noticed that i cant know from that conversation after that the time of each sms that person sent me.
sorry if my questions were silly
and i hope some one have answers for me
thanx
2. check the sticky at the top of the thread, there should be a registry hack to fix this
3. just hit the Send key on the phone & it'll answer
4. I installed Topaz Notification Manager & it adds the Battery Status to the notification area & if you select the button it'll bring up the Power settings. Don't care about the volume since thats what the volume rocker is for. You may want to give it a try.
5. download Advanced Config 3.3 (& .NetCF 3.5) & disable threaded SMS.
For 4 & 5 check the Cabs, tricks, yada, yada, etc sticky at the top.

waaaaaaaaw
this is great
thanxxxxxxxxx my friend
I have just upgraded from a TyTN2/Kaiser to a new TP2/Rhodium running WM 6.1 .. and am enjoying the experience except for one fly in the ointment.
Text selection in certain apps is incredibly painful: using the stylus to select a portion of text is almost always interpreted as an attempt to drag-scroll the display. "Almost always" because if you time it properly, waiting a second or so and start dragging before the context menu pops up, then it sorta kinda works. But the selection seems to kick in quite some time AFTER beginning to drag, and therefore doesn't start at the beginning of the target. And Double-clicks (to select a whole word) no longer stretch word-for-word as I drag.
Most apps still work fine, but the following key apps suffer this annoying misbehaviour:
Contacts - But only the "Notes" tab. All text in the "Details" tab behaves as expected!
SMS texting - This occurs when selecting "Send Text Message" from a contact's Summary display (which is actually my preferred method as it is the quickest!). And it also occurs if you start an SMS from the messaging app via menu options Menu\New\SMS. But if you compose an SMS in the threaded view of a conversation in the same app, then the text selection is ok!
I can't find any posts by others who might be experiencing something similar, so is there a solution for this? A registry hack maybe? Am I the only one who has noticed this problem, or am I the only one who is annoyed so much by it?
Notes tab of Contacts app: I experience the same here. But it doesn't really bother me too much since I rarely have to select text here.
Messaging App: I didn't know you can select text like that (ie. tap and hold for a bit and drag) until you mentioned it! Anyway, if you want to select text here, you can always tap "Menu" and then "Select Text".

I use the contact notes extensively, so it is extremely frustrating to have it compromised and complicated now (compared with TyTN2).

Ahh - thanks for that! Now if only i could find a way to keep that as the default
** UPDATE **
** UPDATE **
I just noticed that everything works properly .. if and only if you use "My Mobiler" to remotely control the phone. So you can use your mouse and your desktop monitor to drag select text in the above compromised apps (including Active Tasks by the way) .. and everything will be fine.
But when it come to using the stylus on the phone's touch-screen directly, the selection still misbehaves!!
This is not a workaround, just mentioning it in the hope that it might help someone enlightened enough to be able to piece the puzzle together

Thanks, but i'm not sure how exactly does it solve the problem? If you mean the post by orlandojumpoff (post #16) about pressing and holding and then dragging when the animation starts, then that's actually the problem itself.
The animation goes by so fast, that each time you do this, it takes a few false starts before you manage to time it right. The overall effect is to give priority to TF3D scrolling at the expense of functionality in terms of text selection. It makes me want to rip out TF3D by it's heart, which of course is a bit overkill.
I'd settle for being able to tell TF3D to stop interfering in specific apps, or simply to stop interferring while editing. Actually, come to think of it .. another viable option might be to find a way to get that animation to take a little longer ... hmmm
One thing you can do to mitigate it somewhat is to double tap on a word to select a word, triple tap to select an entire line. I use Pocket Informant and it too won't allow me to drag to select unless I try to time it like you do. Another trick is to use the hardware keyboard, and your arrow and shift keys combined to select text.
Sure wish the good things we like about WM would stick from version to version, and the bad things would be fixed and stay fixed. Hey, it could happen

There is a similar problem on Topaz (Diamond 2). It seems finger scrolling sensitivity was made too high and it can no more tell finger from stylus. I found a (partial) solution. Maybe it works on Rhodium too.
- Find the registry key "HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings".
- It should contains a subkey named "TFLOIgnoreAPPs". If it does not exist create it.
- For every application where you want to be able to select text add a string value called "IgnoreAppXY" where XY are two characters different for every entry.
- As value enter the name of the application EXE file as seen in file explorer (warning: case does matter).
From then on for that applications finger scrolling is suppressed and text selection works as expected.
This is a sample from my registry
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings\TFLOIgnoreAPPs]
"IgnoreAppST"="WiFiNetwork.exe"
"IgnoreAppYT"="YouTube.exe"
"IgnoreAppPH"="PIMHelper.exe"
"IgnoreAppNP"="NOTEPAD.exe"
"IgnoreAppCE"="ContactEditor.exe"
"IgnoreAppTM"="tmail.exe"
"WiFiNetwork.exe" and YouTube.exe" were already there. I added "PIMHelper.exe" (editing inside SPB Diary Today plugin),
"ContactEditor.exe" (editing for Contacts), "tmail.exe" (editing for SMS and email) and "NOTEPAD.exe" (Orneta text editor).
Hope it helps.
That method worked for me for Pocket Informant, using "ignoreappPI"="PocketInformant.exe".
Thanks!
SOLVED!

Brilliant - Thank you! This is EXACTLY what i was hoping for! Awesome!
Update:
I posted this brilliant solution to the standard thread for Rhodium Cabs,Tips,Tweaks etc
.. Thanks again oruam57!
Just a word of caution. My device already had [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings\TFLOIgnoreAPPs], with YouTube as the only exclusion, but i notice that the board seems to introduce a space into the "TFLOIgnoreAPPs" portion, which might cause problems for some folks who want to try this out.
And for the record, this solution does not solve the problem for the standard editor for Contacts and Tasks, which doesn't have a Process whose name you can use. So I'll start looking at custom editors for Contacts now, but it's good to have this handy tweak within reach!

Maybe I do not understand exactly your problem but on my Topaz:
- in the first tab of standard Contacts and Task editor text selection does work (do not know why, I suppose Touch Flow has some internal logic);
- in the second tab (Notes) of Contacts text selection can be forced working by inserting the process "ContactEditor.exe";
- in the second tab (Notes) of Tasks text selection can be forced working by inserting the process "poutlook.exe".
At any rate using Dotfred's Task Manager (http://www.dotfred.net/TaskMgr.htm) you can inspect processes and windows on your phone and with a little patience you can find the owner process of any interesting window.
Hooray!

@ Oruam57, you're right, thanks again! I was in fact using DotFred's Task Manager to discover the processes .. but i came to the incorrect conclusion (that there was no identifiable processes, for Tasks and for Contacts) because i saw no change in the processes listed between editing and not editing their notes, as poutlook.exe was still running after i edited the notes and while the list of tasks/contacts was still displayed.
And this is how I overlooked the possibility that poutlook.exe itself was the editor
BTW, i notice that the exclusion for poutlook.exe works for the notes of both Tasks AND Contacts, they seem to use the same editor. I have no ContactEditor.exe listed at all, must be for your custom editor.
I tried with on WLMMessenger.exe, but it didint work.
I still cant select ( highlight ) text from a conversation. When i do it begins to scroll..
Has anyone the solution?
I developed an application like Slide2Shutdown, but without the .Net framework. It can turn off, restart or set the phone in sleep mode.
It is very fast to start !
All resolution are supported (for QVGA, the pictures are resized) and lanscape is as smooth as portrait (thank's to the new version of Manila SDK) !
The graphics are all stored in the \resources\VGA\ folder and you can change them at will.
You will find the available languages in the \resources\lang\ folder, but you can create your own file (add any files in this folder). To enable your chosen language, use the configuration tool and select your language file!
With the configuration tool, you can also modify the words directly by clicking!
Don't hesitate to post here your language file! Updated lang can be found here: http://charlie-soft.com/Software/Manila_SDK/V1.5/resources/lang/
Becareful: you have to save your file with Unicode encoding !

thanks a lot for sharing !!! this can be very useful
I invite you to also post it on my forum, you are welcome
tks bro,looks very good
Thanks for sharing!
Brilliiant app. Works flawlessly on my X1. Thanks.
You guys rock.
Should also be translatable?
Yes:
You will find the available languages in the \resources\lang\ folder, but you can create your own file. To enable your chosen language, change the first line to say "1" instead of "0" (and delete other files or change the first line of other files)
Becareful: you have to save your file with Unicode encoding !
thanks, your app is very fast nice
Very Nice!
nice,
my phone is Topaz Diamond2, Energy ROM, and has installed "HKB AWay key.cab"
before installed this, when press power button or use Slide2Shutdown Sleep button,
it can be waken up by press any key.
But after installed this, when i click sleep,
it cannot be wake up by press any key, the only way is press power button.
Does sliding the sleep bar actually make it sleep or just turn off the screen? because pressing any hardware keys wakes up the device instantly.
FONTS Problem
QuickShutdown V1.3 is good program, but I have problem with english or russian font.
ROM 1.66 RUS.
With english I have
With russian I have squares instead letters......................
???????????
Languge files in Unicode.
thanks for your hard work. it works much better than slide to shutdown much faster its a great app to cook in a ROM
Congratulations;
The application is fast and efficient.

Try it with this russian version :

The phone was in POWER_STATE_IDLE state, which only turn the screen off... Now set to POWER_STATE_SUSPEND. Is it OK for non HTC phones ?
The versions of first post are now updated, try them !

Yes it is
Thank you for a great program. I used Slide2Shutdown before, but it took too long too load. .Net on WM is slow especially on loads time. (And I hate this) I even started to write my own shutdown application using win32. I made a darkened transparent background, but then I gave up on this application because I wanted to implement transparent transitions everywhere and it was too hard.
Anyway QuickShutdown is indeed quick .
P.S. I think the font on sliders doesn't look great. Can you make it a little bigger. Thanks.
Thanx for the Apps, looks really useful, but it seems that I can not download from that server, any mirrors please ?
Hello. Since I noticed our little gingerbread stock ROMs/custom based on GB don't have Reject call with SMS or to set a timer to remind us to call that person I decided to create a app to do exactly that
Instructions:
1) Install your version. PT is for Portugal, E is for English.
2) Go to app drawer and run the application. It will say "Application SGSIICall started". Now it will be in your system running as a background process.(~8mb)
3) If you want to simply stop it, go to the new configuration menu and click on the "V" arrow on the SGS2Call Status to disable it.
3.1) If you want to really close the process(and therefore wasting battery), go to Settings->Aplications->And stop it.
Auto-updater Notes:
1) Slide the finger to the right(over the arrow), it will open the button to access the autoupdater.
2) On the autoupdater you have the Magnifying glass so u check for new versions, if theres one avaiable another button will appear to download it.
3) On clicking the download button it will automaticly download the file, unless theres no internet connection. If tahts the case, a error will show.
4) After the download is done, it will prompt you if u want to install the new version.
Note: On 2G network it will take more then 30s to download. On 3G around 5-10sec and on Wifi around 1-3seconds. (My own tests). Also theres no warning the the file is downloading. If you pressed the button and no warning appears in 1-5 seconds then the file is downloading. I'll try to make smth for this in the next version.
How to use:
1) Drag your finger where the arrow is pointing(up) [The starting point is the arrow, of course].
1.1) Menu: 4 custom buttons to auto reject the call+send a sms depending what u have choosen(work, playing, eating, studying)
1.2) Timer Button(Clock Icon): Set a time that u want to call again. It will reject the call after u set the time and push the "V" button. Later it will pop up a notification depending on the time u set, and if u click the notification it will auto-recall the number u rejected.
1.3) Custom SMS Button(SMS Icon and a "+"): It allows you to set your own custom SMS.
2) When receiving a call, you can face your phone down(for 1-2 seconds), and it will auto-reject the call and send a sms saying you are busy at the moment.
3) If you want to drag back(recoil) the SMS menu(go back to the menu with the arrow) - Long press on any Menu item(working, studying, etc) and choose the "V" arrow.
4) To access the new Configuration menu, you just need to click on SGS2Call icon on the app drawer
Exceptions: Not exporting the app with exceptions anymore, since the new update (1.6) you can select to disable individual parts of the app.
Permissions:
Disable_Keyguard: To enable app when a call is received.
READ_PHONE_STATE: To know when the phone is facing down to reject the call.
Receive_BOOT_COMPLE: To start at boot.(i think)
Modify_PHONE_STATE: To add the notification to your status bar, to call the person.
SEND_SMS: To send the SMS.
WRITE_SMS: To write the SMS.
CALL_PHONE: To call the person if you click the notification.
WAKE_LOCK: To wake the phone if any action is done.
I don't want thanks or anything, just a simple feedback would be awsome Thanks!
Changelog v1.8:
-> When you choose to write a custom message or set a timer to remind u to call that person, it now silences the phone, when you finish it puts the phone back to max volume. (This shouldn't take effect if ur phone is already on vibrate - please report if it does) - Also maybe on 1.9 I will make it to save the value before it silences the phone so it returns to normal.
-> Some minimal change to the configuration menu.
-> Answering bug that doesnt allow to answer the call fixed. (at least on my tests)
-> Fixed bug where disabling all the program wasn't disabling the "flip to reject call" option.
--> Also fixed all image bug not changing. (report if it still doesn't changes in some cases)
-> Added animation when you long press the quick SMS menu.
-> Added long press on some more texts/buttons for quick help. (more to add on 1.9)
-> Added some more animations in some menus.
-> Cleaned some unused code.
-> Fixed bug where in some phones clicking on "Custom message" would come back to that option on the next call.
-> Removed the delay when ending a call, it maybe look more ugly, but its faster and efficient.
-> Finally fixed a bug that comes since version 1.5. It only shows on dev-side but it would slow down the app a bit. (like 0,5%)
-> Small fixes on text aligments.
-> Configuration menu already lets you move on status bar. (It didn't worked on the PT version)
-> Now only avaible for 2.3+ versions. (if you need for froyo, please send me a PM)
Changelog v1.7:
-> Added a auto-updater.
-> Fixed auto-updater related bugs on beta phases(thx testers) - it now checks for new version and downloads the file without problems.
-> Auto-updater related jobs have some new testing effects.
-> Fixed configuration menu that might bug sometimes.
-> Re-ajusted some slide-finger areas so it now you don't need to swype that much to open the menus.
-> Increase of the arrow to swype, so its easier now.
-> Fixed error using the personalized message or reminder where the scene didn't returned to normal.
-> Fixed error where it wasn't setting the actual and correct Version variable.
-> Fixed the out-of-place text on the configuration menu. (English version)
-> Fixed phone reboot.
-> Fixed bug since version 1.5 where it showed a warning.(only for developer-user)
-> Changed configuration menu so now you can see the status bar again. - Only working on English version. Next version will work on PT too.
-> Again compatible with Froyo. (Test it, not sure though)
SGS2CallE.apk - [Click for QR Code] (706.7 KB, 203 views)
SGS2CallPT.apk - [Click for QR Code] (706.7 KB, 39 views)
Changelog v1.6:
-> Configuration Menu (Long press on the text's and images to open extra info about that specific option)
----> Own menu to reboot/shutdown/reboot in recovery mode.
----> Version info excluded from the app installion and added a About text(button) on the configuration menu.
----> Added a button to completly shutdown all app functionalaties(same as stoping the app process, but it actually doesn't, so no extra battery life wasted)
----> Added a button to enable/disable the "face down to reject call" option, if you don't want that functionality.
----> Added option to re-start the app, if it's getting buggy. (if its a bug even this option can't fix, stop the process and open it in the app drawer again)
----> Mini crash protection for the configuration menu
----> I know it has some text higher then others, will fix in the next version.
-> Increase in performance when receiving calls, now its faster for the app to show up.
----> Bug of a scene already existing(user-end didn't see this message, but it reports on android dev-part)
-> This version is mainly towards the new configuration menu, I had to re-do everything again for the English version, so if any bad translations, portuguese words or missing parts are found, please report them as soon as possible for me to fix them! Thanks!

-> Changed the order of loading buttons on the long press.

Yes, try it. Install the App, then go to App drwaned and run the App. You will get a flash message saying: "Application SGSIICall started". Then when you receive a call, the app will appear, and you have 2 buttons: Acept call and reject call. If you LONG PRESS the reject call button, you have option to send quick sms or to set a timer to end the call and remind you with a notification when taht time arrives
If you download pleas leave a reply, some people aren't saying anything
And if you can contribute with nice looking icons would be cool!
Already totalling around 50-60 downloads. Not bad
Updated to version 1.4. Crucial bug fixed.
Updated changelog aswell.

I have no idea. I'm running StockLite 7.1 with battery extender 1.2 and it installs just fine. Also my girlfriend using it on stock 2.3.6(galaxy gio) and it's working fine aswell Maybe you don't have select install from unknow sources? Go to Settings->Applications and select "Unknown Sources".

Well I don't know how to mod them. I just use Tasker and create my own apps. You'll have to use this as it is

So, any feedback from you taht tested it? Is it working fine?
