Hello.
Is it possible to get a standard Windows program to run on the HTC Touch HD - I got all the files of course.
Can this be done?
Regards
Frederik
windows is a totally different OS than windows mobile,so no... not possible.
Unless the program is ported.
What a shame!
Well then.. Could you recommend me some quality dictionaries instead? English - English or English - Danish.
Thanks

I WANT IT.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
isnt it only for htc touch diamond?
It isn't out yet. The 3d Touchflo Interface debuts with the HTC Diamond. Should be out by June/July.
I forgot to mention that the 3d Touchflo Interface demands better hardware and memory than most of the devices any of us has currently. The chances that it will run smoothly with our devices are very slim.
I think its a little sluggish on Touch Diamond itseld from what Ive heard from some of those who attended the press event.
Imagining it on Artemis could only be a joke.. It requires a GPU. And it also looks like this application has a lot of locks preventing cookers from porting. But still XDA-dev has much better hackers to overcome those. Lets wait for the devices on the market first.
Regards,
Carty..
here is a couple of words...i'd like to have 3d,but i suppose its not possible
However, a TouchFLO 3D upgrade for current HTC Touch smartphones (like the Touch, Touch Dual or Touch Cruise) isn't planned due to increased and changed hardware requirements.

if this was called HTC manila when it was in the development stage then i hav a ver of this(cab file) which is meant for VGA screen PPCs only
fair does that phone looks stunning,i was gonna get the orbit 2, but the diamond is much faster and better looking, quite looking forward to this one
After see Pontui Home runing so smoothly on my Artemis, I have a little hope that this programa will not demand a Hi-end hardware to run. I HOPE!!!

HTC manila AKA touch flo 3D
here you go
http://www.4shared.com/file/47016031/5436a738/manila1001030release.html
i checked it........it is the same user interface tht is in the htc diamond
but remember it is only for VGA ppcs n wont work on artemis
some people hav tried it on various VGA ppcs n the app runs only on HTC made ppcs(doesnt work on O2 XDA flame)
u may get framerates like 10-15fps
I have a X50v that's with my friend. I'll make a try...
Hi, In this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=363500&page=14
a developer called dobb try to adapt the manila VGA to QVGA and release a version alpha and beta that works in the qvga devices but obviously run slow and need to adapt the soft buttons. You can install the cab of VGA version and the dll's, thus overwrite the files in manila folder with the alpha or beta version of QVGA.(This version need to polish more)
The version posted for sheennick123456 was a beta of touchflo3d leaked in january 2008, and with greater reason, the actual version should run faster.
I have no doubt that any developer here not only achieved by extracting the touchflo3d but also the driver to run correctly.
Think about that:
When "Touch" released, HTC said the touchflo could only run on those Devices because of the special hardware (screen), but there are many of us who run the touchflo in our Artemis without such hardware (screen).
Greetings
really it isn't working... i installed it and i don't know how to uninstall.. anybody??
it creates a folder named manila somewhere in the device memory
i dont recollect the exact path but i guess it is in the my documents
all u have to do is delete this folder
If you want to uninstall you have to:
delete the folder in Program Files/Manila
delete all registry in HKLM/software/microsoft/today/items/manila
delete manilatoday.dll in windows folder
I tried in my artemis and works slowly but the second beta needs more work.

I have one it'ss hard to move around and remember keys, battery sucks too,
i have a htc touch for half a year now.
i have the mobile shell 2.1 customized in the diamond style. it works a lot better. but i have a question:
my brother did get his new diamond this week.
can i go to my computer then to my phone and copy all the files from his diamond (including the windows on his phone) and replace all these files on my touch?
so i get his windows and diamond settings directly and original (stock) on my touch?
is there anyone who has an answare for my question?
thanks a lot
nope
the diamond's files are cooked into the rom, assume a vga screen and different hardware, and 3d acceleration
so i suppose you could, but nothing would happen
are you GSM or CDMA. if you are CDMA then go to ppcgeeks there are people there working on porting all that we can from the diamond.
whats the diffirence between gsm and cdma? sometimes i get lost in all these names for those phones: touch, elf, pda, pocket windows etc....
but now that i thought myself about my question:
the phone needs to be activated befor you can connect to the pc. when you try to overwrite it says cant copy because "......" is already in use.
its damn. because i like the elf very much and also the diamond windows
thanx a lot

Has there been a cooked WinMo Pro rom for the dash? I was trying to install Fennec onto my Dash with the 3vo 6.5 rom and it is not working. Checked the site and it is for WinMo Pro. Any help would be appreciated.
I used to try fennec, but it didn't work on DASH! Fennec is for Windows Mobile Pro (on POCKET PC with touch screen). DASH uses Windows Mobile Standard (for non-touch mobile). So, I think there's no one cook WinMo Pro for Dash! Sorry for my poor English!
I don't think you should be trying to flash a rom for ppc into a smartphone unless your trying to brick your phone! just a thought!

Oh, I guess that is why there was no courser like on Skyfire, I need a touch screen device for it to work. Thanks.
I used to have a HTC Blackstone: Touch HD but I could not get used to not having a keyboard so I got the HTC Touch Pro 2 instead.
I had a Dutch Windows 6.5 (found on this forum) and HDWalls and everything. I wonder can I just install the same Windows 6.5 and HDWalls and do the HSPL again, the same way I did on the HT HD Touch.
Or do I need to research and download everything from scratch?
Thank you so much.
No, you must use the roms from this section on your rhodium. So start from scratch and read a lot
HDwalls can be used on any windows mobile device.
Ah, ok thank you so much, I was worried you were going to say that.
Oh, well...I will start reading
Hi, is it posible to install WM 6.5 onto the HTC Desire HD?
I mean not as a double system, but instead of Android...
My company does not support either Android or WM 7 (email exchange software and communicator software which I must have) so I pretty much must get the HTC HD2 unless I could tweek the Desire HD to work with WM 6.5 until we get Android support in the company. The Desire HD has a better camera and screed so I would prefer to get it instead of the old HD2...
Any thoughts?

windows mobile is not open source like android, and thus cannot be adapted to non windows mobile handests without considerable work, as yet not one developer anywhere has expressed any intrest in a project like this and on a side note, as you do not own a licence for windows mobile (that you would get with a wm phone) a project like this could be seen as piracy
If your company requires you to check email on the move then surely it's their responsibility to provide you with a suitable phone to do so?
That's how it works at most places I've worked. Where I work now people who need to check work emails remotely get a Blackberry, but most still have their own personal phone too.
What exactly are you unable to do on the DHD that requires WM6.5???

even me ....
It's not such a crazy request... I've got certain specialist software on WM6 which the developer isn't releasing on Android or any other platform.

As in they can't justify the cost of making a new version.

Hi,
thank you for your quick reply. My company has an exchange email software which connects to the main server giving the phone a "blackberry" function. It is not pop3 and we do not have a webmail due to security reasons (or possibly lack of enough resources to maintain it) The software is supported either on WM phones or Iphones. Symbian or Android are not supported. As I basically can chose any phone available from Vodafone, I chose the DHD (yes, I could also get a blackberry but I do not like them) but since the "switch" is not possible I will probably just pick the HD2
Thank you all for your fast replies
Regarding the WM licence. Yes, you are right and I was actually not thinking about it at all! Thanks for the reminder... Do you think it would be possible to get a WM7 phone such as the HTC Mozart or Trophy and install WM6.5 on it? Meaning, I am paying for WM but am installing an older version onto it???
I will post the question onto the proper forum page...
Is your company giving support for iPhone? Might as well remove the support of iPhone too.
HTC Desire HD and windows

Not...
The DHD is an android phone and not a windows phone, simple as, get a HTC HD2, that runs Win Mobile 6.5 and has a pretty good spec...
No, Windows Mobile will not run on the Desire HD.
Further, the Exchange functions will enable your employer to remotely wipe your phone, including all personal files and contacts you have, at their whim (which will be if you leave the company). Never, ever connect your personal devices to your company network, as most policies for that connection will state that they can inspect and monitor any communications or data on that device. Not saying you're hiding anything, just that your personal comms could be monitored by your employer.
Either have them purchase a Blackberry / WM phone for you, or get hold of one from eBay and use that.
