Where can I get HTC rom? - HTC Cavalier

I would love some HTC rom for my S630 so that I can be sure that it is operating as it should. My signal strength seems to be consistently about 1 bar weaker than the Excalibur and I wonder if it is from all the flashing I have done!

mine's also.
i've killed it with the dopod roms.

Weak wifi signal

I have an extremely weak wifi signal, I am only next door (About 1 meter away thru wall) - my laptop, nokia N95, PS3, nokia N97 and iPod have full bars but my phone has only 1.
My HTC Desire has a very low signal and often drops, when it drops I have to disable wifi and re-enable wifi else when its re-scanning it will never find the network.
This problem only occurs when using custom ROM (Currently using MIUI), I've concluded this by installing MIUI, Oxygen, GingerVillian and stock htc. Only in the stock HTC do I get full bars.
I have tested on all with recommended radios and stock radio. HTC ROM has full bars and never drops on all radios but the other ROMs have extremely weak signals even when using the recommended one.
Please help!
Noting the lack of replies on this issue, I'm only guessing that there is no real solution.
I also have found out that I must be on the wifi setting page for my phone to auto re-connect.
hi SMCentral,
found your thread while searching for weak signal cause.
feeding back to your test with different roms, i am on a stock rom (sw 2.29.405.5).
my wifi signal strength was very good last year as far as i remember, but recently suffering from very weak reception. i suspect a bad radio update over OTA. so different stock rom might differ. now i also have to go to wifi page to reconnect probably the signal seems too weak.

PS: Baseband version is 32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27
hope this helps someone to find the cause.
There is an update for the radio here (5.14.05.17). I downloaded the second file since it said it was safer to use. For me it's stable and nothing really happened but people are saying it has improved reception/signal.

I don't have problem with my signals whilst using stock rom but if I use a custom rom with any radio baseband and RIL, I get a very weak wifi signal. Try flashing the latest radio from http://www.mightyrom.com/mrx/MRX/Bravo/Radio/Signed/32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27.zip

I'll be trying this. Will feedback with results. Thanks buddy.
No issue for me regarding signal strength....
On a side note: I wish HTC had incorporated the wirless 802.11n standard to their WiFi module in the Desire...that has a far superior range and better bandwidth.
Yeah, if it had n support, it would of been amazing. Totally amazing.

Yup and would have stopped them selling more desire HD's with n capability. Sure it would have been nice if they had included it but that's life in the mobile phone marketing biz
No wait, after some research. HTC has hidden n capability. :O
I've flashed the .zip and well.. it works signal has become stronger too.
Just flashed the new radio , getting mmuc better wifi signal strength
Thankyou xD
You serious? They actually hid it??....that's so fiendish!!

[Q] Core Droid - Weak Signal Reception

Hi,
First: THANKS to whoever developed CoreDroid!!!
It's an AMAZING ROM - the best I tried by a looooooooooooooong way: sleek, fast(er), almost as tweakable as Cyanogen7 but much more usable and very friendly UI.
I find only one area of probles: signal strength.
Where I have clear reception with my Nokia N8, I have no signal with my DHD running CoreDroid. In all honesty, other 2 ROMs had the same problem so I am curious to ask other forum members if this is known HWare problem or if it is a ROM problem.
Japan, Softbank, rooted DHD, CoreDroid, Android 2.3.3
Any idea how to improve signal reception?
Thanks for any help!
Have you tried flashing another radio?
Flashing guide
Radio thread
I don't know if there's any different recommendations in Japan, someone else will have to help you with that.
Edit: Maybe the radio radio that came with the gingerbread leak could help.
@ Hawk,
Thanks, but I am using that very radio...! (BTW, who developed CoreDroid? It's a really cool ROM).
Japan has a bit of a tricky situation with the carrier's frequencies etc... and before blaming the ROM I was wondering if anyone has had any experince with flashed ROMs signal weakness in this country or... I is anyone aware of reported issues with this specific new CoreDroid 4.8 on Sense 2.1 (signal levels)?
Sam? Others?
TIA for any help... would be much appreciated...

I have installed Radio 12.35d.60.140fU_26.08.03.07_M and work very fine with the last version of coredroid

Whatever you do, stay away from CoreDroid V5. Personalize button does not work! I read it somewhere in the forum, but wanted to try it by myself, and found the fact.
Regarding the Radio, I never faced any big signal problem with the LeeDroid recommended Radio, but battery life issue was something I was waiting to be developed by some guru someday. Now, running CoreDroid V4.8 (over a week), and Radio 12.35d.60.140fU_26.08.03.07_M (since last night) I'll be watching for a few days before feeling any difference between the two Radios. I already got a feeling with better battery life with the new Radio.
Sam,
Instead of "feeling" how about "measuring" the signal strength and batt life?

best radio(baseband) for signal power

what's the best radio(baseband)for the most powerful signal???
in my work place i have no signal but all my coworkers with cheap cell phones have full signal
I would check and see which provider they use. They might be closer to a transmission tower for that network.
They might be operating on 2g. I'm no rocket scientist, but seems to me, hardware requirements are less for 2g, thus, maybe they are a touch stronger.
Also (what the dealers don't tell you) is that a european ph has more reception power than a US spec ph. (no FCC restrictions). Guess I'll cook my brains a little faster. Mine is manufactured in China, so I'm on hi-power.
It's like a can full of nuts. But if you think it's a big issue, swap out phones.
I assume you are not rooted, and running stock ROM.

Hi!
I tried the same ROM (rcmixhd 3.6. d2sd) and with this radio signal is powerfull...
RADIO: 32.56.00.32U_5.17.05.08 U can find it at Leedroid,s latest post with 3.0.2 GB Rom.
If it's not prob tell me are U satisfied with rcmixhd 3.6. D2SD? For me it was great, but I wanted GB instead of FROYO... so i flashed RcmixHD v8.0 A2SD GB. And still cant decide between those 2 ROMs...
agree with this....very powerful

Desire getting hot when using 3G, change radio + RIL?

I'm using RCmixS CM7 v2.0 ROM and v1.8 before that (GB 2.3.3 with Sense 2.1 + 3.0), and whenever I use 3G the phone gets hot. It doesn't get hot when not using 3G.
I have a stock radio 5.11.5.27, which worked fine with the stock ROM without phone getting hot when using 3G.
Should I change and flash a different radio? Which radio version is the best for this ROM (or for any ROM with GB 2.3.3 with new Sense)?
I read at few threads there is a RIL. Do I need to flash that as well if I flash different radio?
Before rooting or flashing my ROM. My HTC Desire 2.2 Froyo will usually get hot on 3G when surfing the net. I went to the HTC care centre, and asked why. The support representative said, that this is normal. Since the mobile network provider provides internet connections on best effort basis, the network speed will fluctuate up and down depending on area and so forth. Because of this, the phone will use up more battery when the 3G signal is not full to maintain a stable connection.
After rooting and flashing to InsertCoin rom, same thing. So I guess this is something normal. I have another friend who also uses HTC desire. Same issue. So this is not an issue with the radio.
Yeah, before rooting mine was getting just a little but hotter, but now it's getting much hotter.
The difference between before and now is quite noticeable...
Actually, just for a test, I just disabled the 3G, so now only GPRS/EDGE, and the phone is getting even hotter during browsing with 2G, I guess because the data is being transmitted much longer.
But it was definitely not this hot before with the stock ROM, either when using 2G or 3G!
same problem with me
any idea?
Try another sense and aosp rom. If problem persits, give htc a ring.
Well, I tried a newer radio 5.17.05.08 and the phone is getting noticeably LESS hot, it gets just little warm.
I'll try few more radios to find one that works best.
I suppose the newer radios work better with Gingerbread roms...

Wifi signal too sucks how get more smooth

hi guys,
wifi Signal on sucks i see phone for my friend "sony" better more than one x

Check this out

Its quite common in the One X and this thread has a couple of tests and solutions
sorry but im not hardware eng , i want software fix
thanks
The measuring technique of AOSP based roms is different (more accurate?) to the one of sense roms. Flash a Sense ROM to get better signal.
