Hi,
I have the T-mobile MDA Compact III, the Dutch version, with wifi and stuff. I also have a Qtek S200 and the first thing i noticed is that the Compact III has no calculator! This may seem like a small thing, but it bugs me as i got used to using it alot with the S200...
Any plugin or whatever to get a calculator??
Oh and while i'm asking, is there a way to change those freaky pink white colors of the phone pad? I can change theme in the notmal menus but the phone pad always stays with the T-mobile color scheme... any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks,
Rudy
Hmm... interesting. Anyway, there are tons of better calculator out there. I think the.. Omega(?) has a free calculator software.. and if you do a search on www.freewareppc.com, they ought to have a few .. much advance ones too.
Tons of phonepad available in this forum with iPhone wannabe to.. Vista look-alike. Easiest way to get rid of T-mobile stuff is to go Wiki (under WM5 tweak) to get rid of it and use the default.
Had the same problem.
There IS an calculator, only theres no shortcut made by TM
In the folder WINDOWS\calc.exe
there u got to be. ive made an shortcut to it with SPB Pocket plus.
and for the ugly t-mobile color, just install an skin for it. and do a soft reset.
excuse my bad english
Try tapping Start/ Organiser a new window will open desplaying icons for Claculator, Calendar, Notes and Tasks - Strange place to bury the calculator but it is there - Mike
when installing a skin for the phone pad, does it need to be unlocked first or something... and kindof a noob question, but will i lose my warranty?? Where can I download like legal themes for the PDA??
BTW, i found the calc just where you said it would be mike, And i linked it to my right software button!
Forget the CALC from Windows. Try searching for eval. Nice and free Calculator...
You will find it here
http://home.comcast.net/~jonsachs/#Eval 1.0
.. and some other nice and usefull programs
Wisbar Advanced Desktop 2 or Touch FLow 3D???
Ive had my HD for a week now and barely scratched the surface of this fantastic piece of kit, Im still running the bog standard HTC TF3D theme/homescreen, the thing is, the more WAD2 stuff I see, the more I like. I've checked out www.lakeridgesoftware.com and www.swampthing.net and I think Im going to go with WAD2. Just wondering what the general opinion is...pros and cons?
Thanks guys, great forum btw !
pros : you can do just about anything you want with WAD
Cons : steep learning curve I've found

Ok mate, thanks. Presumably by steep learning curve, it depends how far you are willing or 'able'(!) to go into it? There seems to be alot of info floating around here and other net forums.
Any more opinions?
I'm using WAD2 as of right now and love all the capabilities of the software. I agree that it is a steep learning curve but for us WM users, isn't that one of the pluses for owning these awesome devices? WAD2 outperforms TF3D as far as usefulness functionality.
The only thing I miss about TF3D is the weather animation...which I believe will soon be incorporated somehow in WAD2!
TF3D looks pretty to start with but it always seems to take me 1 or 2 taps/slides more than I would like to do what I want.
WAD2 lets me configure my home screen exactly as I want. I have my most common contacts, playlists, application shortcuts and notifications all in one place.
If you use Davideuck's ROM he also includes wkTask which works great for me alongside WAD2. I use WAD2 desktop mainly for notifications, agenda display, contact shortcuts and a few useful but less frequent application shortcuts. I use the downward swipe feature of wkTask to call up a launcher with my 12 most common shortcuts (which can be called up from anywhere). I'm sure you can install wkTask separately but I would recommend Davideuck's ROM as it's very stable and seems to fly along with great battery life.
Cheers,
David
Thanks for the answers guys, think I'll go with WAD 2.

Let the configuring begin...Good luck!!!
Is there a way to keep theTouch Flo interface and just make WAD2 like a softkey shortcut on the homescreen of TouchFlo? It would be cool if I could switch interfaces on the fly like that

Do a search for "Second Today". I've heard that this program will allow something like this to be done... not quite sure how it work as I haven't tried it myself yet.
The HTC footprints is a very useful application thats bundled with the new marketed HTC touch Cruise II. It can save pictures with notes and GPS location and actual address ( with either google map or papago or other navigation software ) and saves it together for future use.
Someone ported it for Touch and it seems working on other HTC devices but its just not working on the Diamond.
Anyone has any ideas?
bumpipty bump
I think that it is still a work in progress.
Check: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=479057
Thread refers to the tab-integration into TF3D, but still a work in progress
Still no news??? Really looking for... I tried on cruise...impressing new way of nav-....!!!
There's a standalone version. it runs on HD but isnt usable as text is overlapping and miss-ailgned not really usable.. tab version i saw was Diamond only. Wish thed get this as a tab on HD.
Me too. Im really looking forward to it on my HD!
I got a version on the forums here and it works great.Only issue is that it is either qvga or vga so the fonts are a little wonky. I also have no tab for it so i added it the the launcher.
Actual function of the program is great and the one I have even interacts with tomtom and I can tell it to navigate to the spot the picture was taken and it will launch tomtom and set the location as my destination.
edited for asking a stoopid question!!
great game!!! we need more of this!
Has there been any development on this does anyone know? Any of the Chefs here had a dabble at it?
This is very helpful~
Anyone got any idea when something like this will be available? I just watched http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo1S7_jRpcw and I'm feeling a little randy. Actually, Randy's not that little any more
you can't have looked around this forum very hard, there are quite a few roms/cabs which will suit your needs!
The guy on teh video does actually say he has a ROM of it, from XDA DEVELOPER.
Hint, look at this site name,
Cheers to both of you. Been playing with my phone so much over the last few days my girlfriend thinks I've "switched teams" But seriously, think I've tried like 7 ROMs now, in different combinations etc - let's say I've spent 48 out of the last 72 hours playing with the phone
Like a kid with a new toy. Was the same here when i got mine. Watched that video right through and must say I havnt seen any of them apps on the diamond. Maybe its just a waiting game.

TIP: The model shown is a Touch HD look in there for the custom ROM, that he showed in the video.
Like Addicteddddd mentioned, In the Diamond ROM DEV forum there are many ROMs with segments of the Topaz and Rhodium ROMS (diamond2 and Touch pro 2) but not as complete as the one shown. look at Skaks1979, udK and cloudyfa's most recent ROMs(to name a few).
Take time to search the forum.
Thanks
You can upgrade your phone with nearly all of this functions if you use Xbmod tools: Rhodium TF3D, Menu enhancement and Notification cabs.
Alternatively U use one of the mentioned roms (or Vic's newest rom) and just add Xbmod Rhodium cabs.
Read the instruction carefully and it will work!
i don't think it worth doing.
1. diamond 2 is a WVGA screen, means it is hard to migrate tf3d to diamond
2. diamond 2 uses also windows mobile 6.1, which we can get from anywhere
something worth should be some new version oem applications.
Hello,
just got my tp2 and had before a kaiser. I tryed a serval of rom's with and without that manila plugin and at least i stayed with the regular todayscreen cause it was easy for me to add stuff to the today scree like a messenger so i can see how many people are onine and whatever....
now i wana try to stay with that manila screen, but i'm realy pissed by the today screen, cause i don't know how to add more then just the clock, schedule and missing calls ... quite boring...
so please, can somebody tell me if its posible to add more? i was already looking around, but i coudn't find anything. maybe somebody is having a link for me?
thank you!

Eyh m8, I did not make this thread, but I looked for manilla Today. Can't find it. There was something like manilla startmenu, to get the old menu back, but that isn't what he is asking for.
I agree with you people should search and read the stickies before posting, but can't find it myself either now.
Can you please provide a link? THanks!
Did find something with the search funtion, but don't think it does what Tabsco is asking for?
i also just found the sticky to change back to the regular screen, but i wanna try to keep on using the hole manila thing, i just want to add more things (todo-list, messanger, etc.) to the manila today screen.
Here you go. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=508102\
It will replace one of your TF3D tabs and use that like a normal Today screen in WM. Some people like the convenience of having SPB Mobile Shell run on that pane and others like to use it with Pocketbreeze for quick glance information. I'm hoping that we get a port of Sense UI to the TP2 soon.
ok, thanks! i'll check that link soon ... but out of ur mesaage it seems so that it not yet posible to to make manila screen more comfortable (didn't took real look to the link yet)
i'll just check ur suggestion on monday. i hopefully find something with a better look then the regular wm todayscreen.
