I have been reading a lot these days in the forum about how to unlock, or make it able to install cooked roms in my diamond.
I do not consider myself expert on this ( how could i?) SO i have done some steps adn seem to have stuck. So i could use some help PLEASE
by pressing the right buttons i read that i have
DIAM100 MFG 64M
SPL - 1.30 Olinex
MicroP-Diam (LED) v11
along with something else on the green bar.
Now, what i would like to do is to be able to switch between roms to get the one that i like most. BUT I do not seem to manage. I try and try but one out of ten iw working. Meaning that the bar is loading and the rom is flashed. All the other times i keep on waiting and waiting but nothing happens. And the repairing steps and all these.
PLEASE can you help me and tell me, is my diamond ready to accept any rom? Is there anything i can do to make it possible os should i stay with this one?
Oh, by the way i tried to flash the officila back but as i was suspecting nothing happened again. Great prothet I am!!

Read all and have started this cause nothing works as yet.
The only ROM to flash is the Offical WM6 but it sticks at 28% everytime.
Here's what the screen shows.
TRIN100
IPL-1.00
TRIN100
SPL-9.99.CP
Not even detected in Activesync or Windows Mobile centre.
Can you guys help me.
PS tried SD method but does nothing, soft reset and hard do nothing and old AX3L ROM wont even start as well as HARDSPL SSPL CID Unlock and I mean everything.
Do I have to get someone, eg pay, to get it fixed???

Go back to your Original WM5 Rom First. Then flash again using SSPL-Trin.exe

Well tried to flash WM5 ROM (Original that was on my 810 prior to cooked ROM) however it still comes up with the data connection error and can't find my Dopod. Maybe all the information is too much in the forum cause I have read all my friend. I would absolutely love you to simplify it a bit for an honest and humble noob that would be great......
Nothing flashes cause im stuck in the tri colur screen.
Please educate me
give some more details of what's displayed on tri colored screen..
next time it gives connection error, just restart the updater (with device still connected).

You have provided me with the most honest feedback and I thankyou. It would now appread that the original ROM WM5 1.23.707.6 for AUS was not able to flash on VISTA however I just started it on XP so finger crossed.
Now when its all good, lol, I need to re-read what needs to be done with the new WM6 update prior to flashing it. Can you give me your clear guidance.... SSPL or HardSPL?

ok, if you have any more trouble, it's hard to assess where you're stuck without the details of what's shown on your screen, etc.
to flash WM6 ROM, please follow the instructions at my site here
this will give you basic instructions on flashing it. once you get ready to flash the ROM, you can look at the upgrade guide on the site for picture by picture steps to upgrade.. hope it helps

1: state the subject in the thread title, that's what it's for
2: search is your best friend; the issue you mention has been discussed in several threads
3: I'd recommend: get into bootloader mode (seems like you can); install hardSPL again, flash again with any ROM supported by hardspl.

apologies, im new to this (only got the diamond today) and havent been able to use it yet and this forum was the closest thing i could find to getting it working.
Im unable to enter bootloader mode (volume down, reset?)
Also can't get my diamond to connect to pc and keep getting connection errors when trying to install Hard-SPL?

The tricolor screen IS bootloader mode.
Just run the HardSPL, then Rom upgrade utility from a rom, and that's it.
IF you got it in this state, you'd probably want to return it (you got warranty?)

Is HardSPL going to install even though ActiveSync isn't recognising the device (ie not connected). When i run it it seems to work and then a grey screen with 0% shows. Then the install program comes back with a 'connection problem' message,i go through all the steps but just keeps happening. I read posts on this earlier today but it seems the install program is fixed and shouldnt do it any more????
...also ive done all the firewall changes to make sure it connects etc etc. Forgive me if im not doing something that has been posted already, but i couldnt find it.

I had the same problem make sure you install the HARD SPL but the unsigned version not the sign version.....it should work them.....
i think there's two issues people are describing here..
1) installing hard spl.. if you get the 0% error, then you need to follow the instructions in the thread and manually run SSPL from your phone and then start the RUU
2) if you keep getting errors while trying to install your rom AFTER installing hard-spl, then you probably are flashing an unsigned ROM on the signed hard-spl.. go to the sticky thread and download a signed version of the ROM you want..
Thanks guys. I dont see how i can do the manual install, as it requires me to copy a file onto the diamond and at this stage i cant even get activesync to connect to it. I dont beleive its a problem with activesync or the pc as ive tried many many things, but rather that the diamond isnt communicating properly.
Also i havent even got to installing the new ROM yet as i cant get past HARDSPL install.
Do you think installing the un-signed HARDSPL version will work? as in will it install when the signed version won't?

1) can you confirm exactly what happened to get you stuck in the bootloader screen? (it usually doesn't just happen by itself)
2) Have you tried to soft reset to get your device out of bootloader?
3) are you flashing in win xp or vista?
4) are you connected through a usb hub?
yes, tried soft rest but it just returns to bootloader screen.
using winXP SP3. Not using a USB hub. have tried different ports.
Have tried the signed and unsigned versions of HardSPL.
I keep getting to the 0% grey screen and then the communication error 262.
Maybe i should try and just flash the original ROM? Does anyone know where I can download it from and the HTC e-club doesnt have it? Or is this not the next step???

but still i don't understand how you got to this point.. what were you trying to flash when it got stuck in bootloader?

I bought it whilst overseas last week in SEA. Im now back in australia and would like to try my best to fix it before going down the long and difficult warranty path.
Do you think its buggered? Or the fact that its in the bootloader screen and giving me this message quite common on failed ROM updates?
Do you think an orginal ROM install will fix it? if so where can i get it from?

well that's what i'm asking..
you got this screen when you pulled it out of the box, or tried to update the ROM and then hung on this screen. also, if you did try an update, was it a SEA update, or australian ROM
i wouldn't say its a common issue.. i also don't think your device is bricked, since its showing bootloader.. diamond is relatively new so i don't really know a lot about getting it out of this state.
trying to load original ROM is a good option.. one thing is for sure, before any further flashes (after you get out of this mess) you want hard-spl on your device.
If flashing original ROM doesn't work, i'd suggest PM'ing walshieau, olipro, or pof as they know a lot more about this type of stuff.. do post your results

Hi,
I have my Diamond over a year and all was great till one day, suddenly it can't load the OS.
After power on, the black screen with "TOUCH Diamond" appear,
then it shows the radio version in red at the right bottom of the screen and from there nothing happen.
I tried to flash several ROMs & Radios, including the original ROM from HTC site but nothing.
The process of flashing seems to be fine and in fill all the 100% bar,
then it restart like during regular ROM flashing procedure but still no boot.
I tried to flash other hard-spl and still nothing.
I'm really lost and I hope someone has an idea for a solution.

Hi,
My diamond was water damaged a while ago, I let it dry out for a couple of weeks and it did not work, I bought a new diamond and tried the battery in my old one and to my amazment it started up, well to the touch diamond screen anyway, it didn't display any red writing and the sreen stayed on but went black after that. I though the radio must have been gone so put it in the bootloader and tried to flash the same radio I had before 1.17, the white screen came up and all went fine but still the same problem!
I really need the data on my internal storage and so need to at least be able to read that. I don't care about it working forever thats why I bought another one as a doner!
Could someone please tell me what happened and how to fix it! Why does it not get past this?

Also I have hard reset it, reflashed the original ROM successfully, reflashed hardspl and reflashed the Stock SPL but it still does the same!

What does that mean?
I guess the water just bricked your device,
you'd better throw it away i think
there's one posible solution, go to your phone's store and ask if they have some machine to acces the internal storage. (something like this has to be alive somewhere)

I don't think it's bricked because it goes into the bootloader just fine. However there is something wrong with the firmware. Bricked normaly means it doesn't turn on at all!
Please someone help, especially the last line on the bootloader sounds worrying!
I am also having this problem, but I have not had water damage. I ran outa main memory and it froze and now I am having this problem. Some one told me it maybe caused by a bloated rom? I donno what that means. Any help would be great!

I think I have a little prob. I've been trying to put a new ROM on my diamond and so I have been reading all kinds of stuff before taking any action. I've done it before, but have seen that Win 7 x64 might give some probs and so I've done the mtty steps on showthread.php?t=540290

After doing those steps my diamond only shows the normal startup screen (black background with TOUCH DIAMOND) and doesn't boot on.
Now I have the feeling that I have a wrong version of SPL installed:

If so is there anything I can do or did I just brick my diamond?...

you didnt brick your phone as long as it shows a boot screen and you have a hard spl installed and can get back to the bootloader you are fine
i cant help with much, im having my own problems xD
From the looks of it, you did not successfully install a HardSPL. Search the forum to find one and install it. I use Olinex myself.

To be able to install hardspl I would need to be able to boot in to WM wouldn't I? or is there a way around that?...
I've been reading alot of things on the forum, but can't aqtually find any way to flash the hardspl to my diamond seeing it dousn't boot thru to WM and if I boot to de spl screen it doesn't seem to pickup the hardspl update.
Maybe it's also because I'm running win 7 x64. Does anybody have any tips / ideas for me... I'm a little stuck at the moment..

do you get 3 lines of numbers at the bottom right when you turn it on?
if so hold volume down and press reset,
you should get a 4 color bar screen with numbers if you have a hardspl installed
from there you can plug it into the pc and install a new hardspl or flash a new rom,
i hope this helps
