i will be making a new rom with this in which youll be able to change to the normal one

I don't see any difference between this and your current rom, other than the background color. Is there something I'm missing?

he replaced the icons from the dash with the shadow for the home screen chrome and other bars

awesome work! i'm excited to see this. keep up the good work!

I never understood the need for a separate keypad locking application on the excalibur. Isn't it a lot easier to just hold down the End key until it locks ? beats having to scroll down to the right panel, choosing the application, then on top of that.. answering Yes or No to the "Lock keypad ?" question!!

I just want to say to you Rickwyatt Thank you for your continued work and sharing it with us. You are an inspiration to all owners. I'm becoming impatient on a new official 6.1 Rom even if there are no problems with me 1.33 brightpoint HTC WM6. It's like a new haircut, I need a change.

Can't have too many Locks? Seriously, I dunno. I have an auto locker with a not-too-annoying delay, keeps me out of embarrassment when I'm at the bar.

Sorry, one more thing. If you are doing it with CeleCmd, can you make a new folder for the new dll, that Celecmd loads the contents of, so that we can drop in our own hacks into the switcher? I understood just enough of the documentation to realize that CeleCmd is pretty powerful.
And if not, could you include the dark version I made in your ROM? Please?
UPDATE Don't want to make a whole 'nother post again so soon. I'm off to make a totally new background for the Cpanel bubble. Something curly/tribal, if I can get it to look good.

This is a good post, hopefully this will come out soon.

Hello,
Does anyone have the time or inclination to make a ROM without the volume control? I only ask because I've so far found no way of disabling the program.
Basically I've discovered that the standard WM dialer is more responsive and more intuitive than the Diamond one while using about 8MB less memory. The problem is, the in-call volume won't work unless the HTCVolumeControl can be disabled or removed.
I'm going to follow up this request with a noob question - how easy is it to take an existing cooked ROM and remove applications?

Cooking a ROM without Volume control is easy. Just remove the DIAMOND Volume Control from your kitchen.

This option does exist in Diamond Tweak but it doesn't work.
I've searched the forum and found a manual method that involves stopping a service called HTCVolume, however that service doesn't appear to exist in the latest ROMs. HTC must have changed something which would also explain Diamond Tweak not working.

I have just tested it, and it works. But you said 8mb ram will be free ? I don't agree on that point. :/

For me, the 8MB free came when using the standard WM dialer rather than the HTC one. It's not as pretty but it does match my altered windows colour scheme. I'd rather have a phone that works properly than one that just looks nice - which is why I'm not using TouchFlo 3D either.
I would guess I'm getting an additional 1 or 2 MB with the volume control also gone.

Oh, I can see that now .. Anyway, that's why I have customized mine, as hell ..
On a fresh boot I get 42%, with orginal touchflo 3d. But anyway, glad I could help you

Strange, it's overwrite the existing files in the windows dic. I will try working some thing out..

Just remembered, I also ran a cleanup with SKTools, I suppose it is possible that caused it to revert. I'll have a play and see if I can recreate.

thanks! this has been driving me nuts! and nearly all the roms have htc volume built in for whatever reason
flashed my phone about 8 times in the last hour trying to find one without it built in and all my apps working

Seems the DLL?? messes up the font of the USB PopUp and SIP Selection screen Will try to cook a ROM without the VolumeControl to see if you can disable it without causing trouble to the fonts on the device..

I'm already using a ROM without the HTC Volume Control, Panosha Simple 1.1, so I don't need this cab anymore. It was invaluable before I switched ROMs!
I can confirm that the SIP selection text is already broken, without installing this cab. HTC must have relied on their dialer dll for the fonts on these other menu screens.

maybe its time for me to try that rom!
overnight the htc volume reappeared...although was all blank, reinstalling the cab fixed it, still wierd tho

Not had that problem, except for the one time mentioned above which was caused by SKTools.
It's a very plain ROM - no Manila, Opera or even MMS! However, it suited my needs and I was able to track down all of the cabs I needed eventually.

Anyone Fix the Background4AllTabs "strip" problem

It is very annoying and I know a LOT of you have isntalled Background4AllTabs, so someone MUST have been able to fix this issue....
Any help is much appreciated

i've been searching the forums for a while now and can't seem to find a definitive answer either. again, any help would be greatly appreciated. i'm very keen to remove the current tronesque wallpaper, lol.

Im sorry.. i thought everyone knew...
When you install the background4AllTabs, everything works fine, excet for the manila menues... like All Programs, stocks, Music Player etc and the rest which have the default white background to a height of only 640. The Touch HD has a height of 800 so this leaves a transparent gap of about 160px which is annoying because the programs and items are still lsited.. just no white background.. gives it a very dirty look... there are screenshots in another thread... but i dont have one to be able to post...

Thanks I was going to install it...downloaded before....but now that you told me of this problem I'm reconsidering it and probably I will wait for the final release then...

I tried to PM Nisse and Mun_rus.. who originally made it... and did not get an answer back from them. Seems like the community has beens tuck on this for a while (or it is not a priority). mun_rus got ill so cant really blame him...
Anyway, its times like these i knew a litte bit more to be able to manila edit the right file and change the height of the background...
Hopefully someone will come up with an answer... i dont think there will be a final release... I did wish that Nisse didnt advertise it for the TouchHD as it clearly has this problem.. although mind you.. it does work as advertised...

So are you saying.. that :
1) you have your own background in all the tabs (meaning u have installed background4alltabs)
2) When you go to All programs in Manila... you dont get a stripe on the top...
Can you please post screenshots... i have tried everything and I know there are many of us who ahve done the same.

Just read the thread a bit better now, and I think I just misunderstood. I get full pictures on all tabs, but not sure about "all programs" etc. I don't use it anymore because of the low resolution on the pictures.

So my fears are confirmed... no one knows how... and no one cares...

Find at the bottom a version that will allow the Background in all versions, without the strip problem

It's not very important, cause for the home screen you can put an image 800x480 with the wallpaper option in Parameters, so you just have to choose if you want the 1st version without black strip but with the bug in "All Programs" and "Music" or the 2nd version with black stripe at the top but no bug "All Programs" and "Music"

yes, thats right, its only transparent and the start function works normally.

It looks very nice!
I'm not really sure if i would like the absence of the start icon though. Maybe you can create version with just an icon and one without?
(yeah i know i'm already asking for modification before the project is even released, but please regard it as positive enthusiasm )

Did you know that windows using not the full 32x32 pixel by the signal bar icons? WM only used 26x32 pixel, thats why my fourth bar was not displayed

Thanks for testing my taskbar but the white dots only appear by the loading icon, right? I will make versions with start icons maybe I create a waiting icon, but I want to fix the bugs first.

I know the bluetooth isn't working now, because I have some troubles withe the masks
I have noticed the spacing problem too and I will fix that. The icon size is 32x32 pixel and not every icon use all of the place, because of that you see the space between some icons

first a big thanks for your work! its looking real nice!
only thing, that i have to "complain" about, is the icon that shows the connection. if you are connected it is really small above the signal bars, and hard to see for my bad eyes
shouldn't wear those sunglasses at night
oo and i would prefer signal bars in between light, sky and royal blue

neat implementation. Any idea how to make it work on the email/SMS slector page? I see it works to create a background if you open an individual email/text but it doesn't impact the page that shows all texts/emails. Any thoughts on that? Thanks - an great work so far.

Is there a reason your using three times the same backdrop, instead of pointing to only one graphic in the html and CSS?
The Compose SMS htm was missing a few lines that made it incompatible with 6.1, you can test if it works in yours.

im using it on wm6.1. on the official SE r3 rom (uk), works fine. about your first question, these are base on ahem white brick wall background and he made the html & css file. Also if u decide to make your own u can make the 3 backgrounds different i think (have never tested it).

could u un-tick the system files box in the properties as i always have problems getting system files to show on my laptop.

Here are all the Files for Mail SMS etc.
I made it so it should only use one Graphic.
Hopefully their of use to you.
For some reason copying them manually breaks stuff, but making and installing a cab works

the images are all 480x800 but when i made picture of a girl it seemed to cut the image (maybe where the sms screen does not use the whole screen) thats why i only used textures in my cabs. what cab are u using? or are u using your own pic?

ok, i will make a cab but as i answered on the post above it may not come out properly, thats why i only use texture like pics.
ps. i have made the cab, but the pic u gave me was very low res. give it a try and tell me how it comes. if u can fine a higher res pic it would look better.
