I beleive the WM6 for the dopod is now downloadable, I just checked the website and it said 'download here' and asked me to log in...

thats an OLD ROM...

Just got off the phone with Dopod Philippines. They said the release will be delayed until August or September as they have been having problems with the Dopod Test rom

Latest WWE ROM version ?

I think there are some different ROM versions for the diamond already.
Mine is:
ROM: 1.34.831.1 WWE
Date: 5/25/08
Radio: 0.93.25.NS16
Protocol version: 52.24.25.08H
It is problematic & slow and I have already had to hard reset twice.
Are there more recent versions available ?

Latest is 1.35.xxx
Date 6/7/08
But it's not availible yet.

Found a post with this info about the poster's phone:

Not really that it's not safe, it just won't upgrade. If you try it you get the "model ID error" and it does a soft-reset. No harm just no upgrade.

I'm new on these kind of mobile devices. I'm waiting for my touch diamond to arrive.
Question: If the rom isn't upgradeable like new firmwares and such, how is HTC suppose to solve bugs and improve the devices ? If so, what kind of upgrades does HTC provide in the future to improve it ?

It will upgrade all firmware for the same device nationality, i.e. you can upgrade a diamond-HK with latest diamond-HK ROM, or diamond-UK with latest UK ROM. You just can't (at least not yet) load an HK ROM on a UK diamond and vice versa.

Got another question, perhaps only someone that already owns a diamond can answer.. does the English version brings more T9/XT9 dictionaries installed ? I've been searching the forums and it's not clear. Thing is, i ordered the English version since PT won't be available so soon, will i have the Portuguese T9 installed ?
I'm thinking I'm in real trouble with that and from what I've read on the forums it's not easy to add new dictionaries..

Downloading thanks. I'll report back what i'll find inside.. As i can see it's a branded rom by Docomo japanese carrier. I just hope it's not a fake or whatever.

I think this is an old ROM, maybe the Japanese branded ROM follow a different numbering ...

Anyway this rom was realesed few days ago...so maybe it has really new drivers...

Not every new Rom has new device drivers, just the smallest change realize before the compilation is signed with a new version number, but that, does not meant it is full new...!
Diamond is an older model and they doesn't expend any cent more to develope for it..!

For any body wanting to try the New driver's and thay are new 3.09
take the oemdrivers folder and delete the *.rgu replace with your current *.rgu replace oemdrivers in your kitchen with new one's
OEMXipKernel from xip into your ROM folder and cook
there's also some new packages that can be ported with ease just swapout the 0411 folders for 0409 folder
the answerphone app requires phonecanvas,oemdrivers,OEMXipKernel,mhub,
and answerphone,phonecanas *.mui's have to be translated, NOT swapedout there's no video phone with this phonecanvas But the answerphone app works No more charges to hear your messages

Looking for the latest official UK ROM

I've been a silent lurker of the XDA forums for a while, whenever I have phone issues, this is where I usually find my answer, so thanks for all the informative posts.
I recently bought a HTC Touch Pro 2 on an auction, excellent deal, however the ROM is in Dutch I've been looking around the forums to try and get the latest official UK ROM for the phone. HTC site won't let me and offers me the latest Dutch ROM which is on there already.
If someone could tell me how to get hold of the latest official HTC UK ROM, without operator extra's, just the WM6.5 with Sense, I'd be a very happy camper indeed.

I do have a question about the ROM, there are quite a few differences in the ROMS, does that have any bearing on functionality?
UK HTC: HTC RHOD100 n/a 1.86.401.0 (67102)WWE 4.49.25.17 61.44tc.25.32U 5.2.21854
NL HTC: HTC RHOD100 n/a 2.07.404.1 (80303)NLD 4.49.25.91 61.44etc.25.35U 5.2.21887

The NLD one will be in Dutch.
You need a WWE one and either a Goldcard or Hard SPL to flash it.
Why not try a custom ROM ?

2.07.404.1 (80303) is the latest official ROM with Sense 2.5 (95% similar to the one on the HD2 with animated weather on homescreen, quicklinks, better calendar etc).
1.86.401.0 (67102) is with, iirc, Sense 2.1.
Both has WM 6.5
HTCpedia has a Sense 2.5 European ROM here (yes it's official!). You need to use HSPL though.
