I have two Diamond, one is diam100, other is diam110. I want to flash them, but I donot know which file fit them.

Also Canadian 3G (same band as US).
I think the difference between DIAM100 and DIAM110 is network support. DIAM110 can access 850Mhz 3G band whereas DIAM100 can't. So I think there's no issue using a rom developped for Diamond on both DIAM100 and DIAM110. The only thing that may differs is the Radio Rom you'll have to use with them... In fact, you won't find Roms for DIAM100 or DIAM110, you'll only find Roms for Diamond

You can flash any ROM as long as it is for a Diamond... The DIAM100 and DIAM110 model numbers refer to hardware in the phone. A ROM is software so the hardware is unaffected.

also a DIAM200 but thats the victor/mda
And DIAM300 is the o2 branded XDA model!
I think that main numbers like 100, 200 and 300 are indicating the used body of our phones! As you know, the backside from a HTC Touch Diamond (DIAM100) can't be used for a T-Mobile MDA Compact IV (DIAM200) or an o2 XDA Diamond (DIAM300)!

I think they are just versions. Like diam100 is sim free from hong kong. diam140 can be from a network or something simillar. I am not too sure but they are just references from htc. it dont make difference on the software you put on it.

i bought it in usa and i think it is the european version

Look at the phone under the battery, should be there.

as already posted it is hong kong unlocked, does it mean that ( in case i decide to) i should do the upgrade with an asian rom? would an european rom be ok for upgrading too?

Mine is a UK Diamond that's also 100.
DIAM300 is the "o2 Xda Diamond" same as the normal diamond
Enter in bootloader and see your version. [Reset and hold "vol down" key.
Mine is DIAM100. DIAM500 is CDMA version.
Can owners of the MDA Compact IV please report back, if its normal that the Tricolor screen states DIAM200 ? Wouldn't 300 be normal. I have a german version of the MDA C 4.

I've got the UK version and it also states DIAM200.
I've got the Taiwan version and it also states DIAM200.
Anyone has DIAM200 ROM? I dont know cooked rom and others suitable for me?
no worries, there is:
DIAM100
DIAM140
DIAM200
DIAM300
I know DIAM300 is OK with the DIAM100 roms, as for 140, you need to flash that 1.25.xx (I forget) radio without region id protection then it can flash the DIAM100 roms fine. DIAM300 I hear was fine too.
DIAM200 people, do a rom backup first before trying the roms. then report here if it is all OK.
Several roms flashed here with DIAM200. With my old Trinity it just refered to the different housing/design of the phone. Same here maybe?

My Dutch MDA Compact IV also says it 's a DIAM200.
Flashed it without any problems, using HardSPL 1.24.

Jones23: I have a German MDA Compact IV as well which identifies itself as DIAM200 so I suppose that's normal.
Everyone & dtosun: you don't need a specific ROM for your devices, you can tweak existing stock roms to work with your DIAM-ID. See my guide:

I had bought this officially unlock from dealer. (he even mention on bill that it is unlock for carrier)

DIAM140 is the Edge only version = 2G only. Hardware inside is for 2G only. By Changing SPL you cannot get 3G in this. That is why the price difference between these phones in India and abroad

Having owned an XDA Alpine and upgraded roms, radio and removed logos unlocked i guess i thought i was cleverer than i actually am *sigh*.

I think but am not entirely sure that my phone is NOT CDMA. Any help here greatly appreciated.
I would like to remove all of the TMobile crap including that awful web n walk do i need to do a rom upgrade to get rid of this.
Do i need hard spl (unsigned) in order to flash this device as its protected.
Unlocking protection allows any roms/upgrades?
Unlocking to allow any sim is different to the above?
I have been to the tmobile website they do not have this rom avaialble and i have not seen it on your site, if i upgrade am i able to restore somehow?
Will i be able to put on tomtom 6?

That link has allowed me to understand that all the purpose of the hard spl is just so that you can actually flash the mda. I guess it doesnt matter at all what version you use of the hard-spl as its the job it does and not a better version. Just need the answres the the rest of the questions - thanks for your help mate. If there are more like you my little baby will be running without tmob in no time
