WM6.1 SMS Icons, Interface - HTC Excalibur

Hello, I have been searching around but have come up with nothing regarding the look / interface of the WM6.1 threaded SMS interface. I would like to try to figure out how to customize the icons, background for texts etc myself (with the help of you guys!) I really like the iPhone SMS interface, and was wondering if there are any guides/tutorials or if anyone else is interested in doing something along the lines of this. Thank you very much for your help / replies.

Text Messaging software?

Seems like there are a lot of new software titles and plug ins available, but I have yet to see any real good Text ( SMS) software that would replace the default wM6 texing software.. If anyone would have any links or suggestions where I could find something better than the default I would appreciate it.. The Default is boring compared to all the other cool software out there.. thanks
Kobejim
I highly suggest IMSMS. You can find a link to it in the Excalibur forum.

SMS viewer

Hey just wondering if there is a different sms viewer to the custom one in TF3D. Something similiar to the iphone one would be pretty cool.
Solution: Buy an Iphone.
there are a few on www.pocketcm.com - however htctoucher hasn't made them for the HD I've been looking for the same thing. There are a few things here and there that Apple has done well, where WinMo 6.1 still lacks. I'm sure if you give it some time - someone will develop it. Just be patient, or ask those who you see developing different apps and such, and see if they can be pursuaded by some sort of donation
Good Luck!

This doesnt look bad. But will this work with tf3d?
just realised that it costs...anything free?
Yeah... smiley sms new version has a nice threaded interface.. and it skins the notifications too as well as other nice features.... I find it a little fiddly, personally... and it needs updating, I think. But it might be what you're after.

WM 6.5 - Titanium Scrolling menu in today - Customize, How?

Hi!
I really like this new today design with titanium, hope im not alone with this
I would like to do some changes. I already know how i can change the order of the menu names, but i still don't know how can i change the links.
For example:
There is Favourites. If you click on it you can scroll right, left. There are your fav. webpages and the browser: Internet Explorer.
I hate IE, i prefer Opera.
How can i change it to Opera?
Please do not tell me "click on start and there will be the bulit in opera" because i know that i would like to change IE to opera in the new wm6.5 Today screen.
Thank you in advance!
I want it too,anyone ? please
thanks
Good to know, im not alone
wanna know too, so far i have only found CHome configurator for windows smartphone. But it's not completely compatible. Also in the registry editor i found some keys regarding to the CHome (Titanium) settings and items present.
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CHome
HKLM\Security\Microsoft\CHome
but i think editing the .cpr file is also needed for everything to work....
for myself i haven't got it working the way i want it, but may b we can make this a central thread if anyone finds out how to do it.... please put a tutorial in here........
here are some links on here i found some info:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501300
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=393104 (CHome configurator)
just found this: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=63086
But oh how wonderfull it would be to have a application for this.................. sigh
Thx for your links!
Well, it seems it's difficult for a newbie like me, hope a clever guy will develope an easier app for this all
Im looking into this now, I will post here if I can do it.
Thank you loomx
Beaten to it.

Finger menus off ?

Have been trying to search for a cab for FINGER MENU's OFF like energyrom's have built into there roms, I have managed to find how to add the enhanced menu's within HTC, but can't find how to turn them off and use the standard WM6.5 menu's.
Please does anyone know where I can find how to do this ?
See obviously no ones knows...no responses at all
Is it only me that dislikes the HTC enhanced menus ?
WOOOO hooooo I managed to find this cab, so if anyone wants to get rid of those menus...has taken me all day to find this
Just change this in your registry:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GWE\Menu]
"CUIHandler"=dword:00000000
Soft reset and you're done. The CAB you've uploaded contains some Push dll file as well. This is not needed as far as I know
HTC Menus
I really dislike those menus as well. Thanks because I was having a really difficult time finding anyone who knew the default menus still existed.

[APP] HTC Tasks

HTC Tasks - an application using the Sense SDK to manage your Outlook tasks
I always wondered why my HD2 did not come with a replacment app for the stock tasks application, especially since Sense replaces almost everything. Anyway, I downloaded eboelzner's Sense SDK and startet writing this little app today.
Requirements:
Windows Phone 6.x
.netCF 3.5
(W|Q)VGA device
Current features (very basic):
Add Task
Localization (English, German, Spanish; auto-detect language)
Sense UI
change task status
change importance
change subject
Future Features:
Settings
Change other task properties (description, due date, etc.)
maybe other languages
images showing importance
Localization:
Oh and I would be glad if someone could take a look at my Spanish localization and tell me if something's wrong (my grammar is miserable and I'm not familiar with the Spanish techno-babble) and maybe somebody wants to translate this into other languages as well. So please contact me via PM if you are interested in helping me.

Excellent! Sounds very promising. I also wondered why the Tasks had been left untouched by HTC....

More than 4 years here and don't know how to PM... So here I am, ready to check the traslation. Spanish is my native language
Got your PM and thank you. I will send you the localization files before I upload the app, ok?
Looks good. But arent there already apps like this one? Ptasks etc.
Always good with alternatives tho
In my opinion pTasks is not very fingerfriedly, which is pretty important if you have a device with capacitive touchscreen.

HTC Task sounds great. I use the WinMo-Task every day... it works very good but its so ugly.
A question: Do you want the important tasks to be colored?
I encountered a really strange bug. When I change the tasks StartDate and Update the task (Task.Update()) I get a Win32 Exception. Has any other .NET CF developer an idea what could be causing this?
edit: found out what the problem was. StartDate has (logically) be before DateCompleted.
Makes me wish I knew more about coding. I'm useless when it comes to that kind of thing...
This is really great! Thanks for your efforts.
I don't know if you'd be interested in this or not, but I'd love to see an app like this that can be used as a tab in Sense.
Thanks again!

same here i would love to see it as a tab but what you are creating should do fine for me.
Hi,
looks very promising and I'm looking forward to the first available version to give it a try.
bye
Sven
I'd like to see command line support to use it with Advanced Home Tab (Cookies Home Tab addon) to have directly access to a task.
Looks great!
I will do the translation to Dutch if you want?
Joris
Just to inform you: Advanced Home Tab for CHT adds the possibility to show tasks in the calendar-panel in home tab, too! You have simply to swype it to the right to show your tasks and swype to the left to go back to the appointments!
There are other programs here (ptasks and tasks manila) but the development on both of those has stopped. So hopefully you can finish off your vision before you get too busy working on something else.
You might consider making an actual tasks tab for Sense UI. That's what I've been looking for. Being integrated with Sense means I don't have to start up another application. Just a suggestion.
I'm looking forward to testing this out.
Nice work. If want, Im offer translating to Czech.
Looks very nice. I can translate this to Romanian.
